Lovely place but, price to food ratio was ridiculous, too little food and when it came it tasted off, was very annoyed to learn that service charge was Mandatory as opposed to be optional

Lovely food cooked fresh to order . Slightly pricey but ok

Been here several times but never actually reviewed. So based on my most recent visit I've given 3stars. I ordered the lamb chops with chips however I received rice and cous cous - waiter did kindly give a portion of chips. Unfortunately, the chips were a shambles - undercooked, super dry and hard to swallow. They provide the table with a tray of chilli and garlic sauce but a very stingy amount asked for another tray which took some time. Rice and cous cous was mid, quite tasteless but nice with some sauce. Lamb chops were very tasty - tender, fatty and succulent. Some pieces were a bit chewy but overall lamb chops were delicious. Taking everything into account, place is quite over priced but worth a visit in my opinion.

Excellent food. However a non-discretionary 12.5% was added to all bills despite us all ordering from the bar! Seriously?!

This place has gone so downhill! We paid 60 quid for nothing! Chicken was dry, they give you much smaller portions of salad and bread. No real flavour. Service was so bad that even the server agreed the service charge should be removed. Not offered baklava at the end. Save your money, this place used to be quality but is now a real rip off!

Very disappointed with the service; it was slow and unorganised despite having made a group booking for 11 people. The portion sizes were also very minimal compared to the price tag. Won’t be going back there again.

Visited yesterday with my wife for her birthday dinner.Lamb chops at efes BBQ was perfectly seasoned and delicious, while Efes BBQ Chicken was equally flavorful. The barman's cooperation and attentive service enhanced the overall dining experience. A fantastic spot for a memorable meal with outstanding dishes and service. Highly recommended!

Great food and quick friendly service.

The service was bad , they didn’t clear the table and come check up on our table too see if everything is alright . After that we tired to decline service charge as it was poor and my friends got into a dispute with the owner and turns out everyone had to pay service charge separately as we were all paying separately which is not okay considering we were not impressed with the service. (FYI we paid way more than the initial service charge on the bill ) by law in the uk service charge is optional and they said It was mandatory that we paid which is messed up because why am I going to pay for a service that wasn’t good. I would not recommend this place to go out to eat as the service is completely unacceptable and the owner and some of the waiters were not nice!. Also prices have gone up heavily since the last time I went and portion sizes have gotten significantly smaller.

We decided to come to this restaurant for a friends 18th birthday. We were all really exited to come out here as we had heard good things about this place. When we arrived we had a little wait until we were seated. I immediately noticed the fact a wedding was going on and children were running around. I understand that is not their fault but it starting messing up our experience there as they kept grabbing our chairs and running around us. The server brought out complimentary bread and left. Once we finished it he brought out drinks but forgot one. We waited 10 minutes for it and it still wasn’t brought out. I had to ask him where my friends drink was and it came out a couple minutes later. He then brought our food out not cleaning the table and also forgetting someone’s food. We didn’t have to ask this time but we did have to wait another 10 minutes. When we went to the bathroom the females bathroom looked trashed there was no toilet paper and there was empty toilet rolls in the sink. It’s look disgusting. When we went back to the table and everyone was finished they still hadn’t cleared any dirty plates but were clearing others dirty plates of other tables. We asked for a water before leaving and they forgot to give us the water until we asked. When we went to leave they tried to charge us £20 service charge. So when we went to ask them to take it off they said they can’t and it’s “owners rules” that we have to pay. So they kept trying to get it off as we didn’t have much service at all and they split the bill. Once paying the bill they went to go and sort out the service charge where we shortly found out the put the service charge in our split bills without telling us. I am honestly so upset because we were all really happy to come here to eat and our experience got ruined.

Me and my friends celebrate my wife birthday. We got the king Efes and mixed Mezze this is my 5th visit. We had Excellent time, the staff were friendly and service was 10/10 I would like to thank to Efes staff my wife had best birthday and she enjoyed. The food was delicious and honesty food service was very good. I cannot wait to go back.

Amazing family run business!! Customer service is exceptional and nothing is too much trouble. Food was outstanding and great value for money. Would recommend this place a thousand times over !!

The food was tasty, expensive though and the service we got was very bad, slow, forgot some of the food we ordered, never checked on during visit, never asked if we wanted any other food, didn’t clear table when we asked for more bread and sauce as well as “compulsory service charge” where employees refused to hear us out about bad service offered.

I use to go to this place as my go to. Went recently unfortunately the portion size has decreased significantly and the quality isn’t as good as before Then came the bill it had service charge that they said was mandatory. By law service charge is optional. They said people who don’t want to pay service charge were told to leave but this never happened to us and we were told at the end. No one told us it was mandatory to pay service charge before seating us. They told us it’s law we have to pay service charge when this isn’t the case This has left a bad impression of the restaurant which is unfortunate as they were the best Turkish restaurant

It is good food and friendly staff.The food especially the meat and the bread tastes good. The rest of the stuff was OK. The staff were friendly but service was slow. I think the prices and service charge are a bit higher for what they deliver for both. It was recommended by colleagues but I am a little underwhelmed. I would say it is good food for the area but I wouldn’t rate it over Green Lanes in London and MK in terms of price, flavour and service.

The staff were friendly, especially a kind waiter in a white shirt who offered me tea and baklava while I waited. The food was delicious and well-packed. Highly recommend!

So today we went to celebrate an anniversary. 7 people Ordered our food we ordered 2 Greek salads one without tomatoes We got one but the other was a green salad. So we told them and they bought us another. Which was again incorrect but the 13 year old who was waiting was too hungry to wait again so ate it They got my starter wrong as well. They then served a lamb moussaka that I nearly broke my tooth on it was rock hard around the edge So I sent this back 10 minutes and nothing So I asked what was happening and he was “oh did you want another” Well yes coz I’m hungry! Waited to then be told the whole batch was the same! Basically the chef overcooked it! From what I did taste it was dry and tasted reheated and not actually fresh or cooked that day! At that point I was just wanting to go home as the whole table had finished there food and I had nothing I then said I’m going home hungry and rather than apologise he said I should have ordered something else Which I could have but the place is I’ve priced £25 for hard moussaka and the portion was small So I didn’t want to The food that was correct and not hard was quite nice according to those who ate it but all agreed way over priced I won’t be going again! I do however recommend going to Savci in stopsley. Much nicer, better portions, better food and definitely better service. The people are much friendlier. Also checked them out as a company and they only have a 3 star hygiene rating! Not great

This was our go to kebab place, but won’t be coming here again. The online prices they advertise aren’t correct, as they’ve increased their prices, and have a new menu. A mixed starter, 2 kebabs and 2 drinks each, £85!

Food is decent , nothing that you prob have not eaten before , better then calabria in houghton regis for sure . A bit too much noise with all the music blasting but other than that ok

The food was delicious portion sized for an average person. The atmosphere was lively overall the customer service was fantastic being served promptly it was a fine dining experience.

Over priced , ordered the platter for 4-5 people barely enough food apart from bread and dips , tiny amount of salad for five people …left hungry disappointing

This was my 3rd or 4th time, and consistency is the name of the game. Food like last time tasted great, freshly prepared. Kebabs were amazing. My 6 year old is a fussy eater, and even she finished her wings plate.

It's definitely not a fine dining experience. Very loud, very busy and food just okay. Came for a birthday celebration but so loud we couldn't chat or speak to each other. Service was slow, and they brought up the main course whilst our plates from starters were still on the table. The food was bland and boring and very overpriced. It's cheaper in London and better quality meat. A lot of mine was gristle.

This restaurant has great food, drinks and an amazing atmosphere. Would recommend very highly to anyone who likes Turkish food and cuisine. Our group had several different dishes all which looked and tasted great. If you have a spare night go to this restaurant you will not be disappointed

As,always the food is amazing. The staff are attentive and the atmosphere has the buzz of families coming together.

Had the lamb shish with yogurt. lamb shish tasted great but it was swimming in tomato juice. just way too much tomato on the dish. Service was dreadful. got a drink when we first arrived and the only time we saw staff after that was when they brought the food order. felt very expensive for what was a very underwhelming meal.

Was there at 6pm on a Tuesday evening, within the hour the place was very busy. Parties were of all age groups.

The food was excellent, especially the starters. Friendly service. It's a large venue, with plenty of seating. The only downside we were by the door and I would recommend is that during the winner months don't have a table close to the door.

Stopped here for food and have to say we were very pleased. The flavour off the food was amazing. Nice to see the plates come out with two kind of rices. The meat was cooked to perfection and even the bread was full of flavour. Highly recommended

Really bad night. Music was SO loud with Irish music being played at an event in another room shielded by a curtain, people were leaving and we wished we had too. Service was so chaotic, I felt sorry for the people serving as they got confused with people's orders but they were nice hence the extra star. Food is so overpriced for what it is too. Won't be returning.

A quick stop off for lunch . Restaurant wasn't busy so service was quick. Always go 4 the chicken princess dish here as I love it . I should really venture out more and try something different. Never had a bad meal here. Our Turkish go to every time. Yum

The only good thing about here is the food, though then again for the price it may not be actually worth it! It's good to see a restaurant full, but tonight was ridiculous, it was seriously over booked. Loud music, and staff were pretty much none existent, it took us three times in asking for us to get the bill, also the wait between food and getting drinks was ridiculously long! If you can, I would get a takeaway but not done in again that's for sure.

Food was very nice, if you're like me do ask for the food to be charred. That's one thing I like about barbecued meat and the only small letdown that it wasn't. Otherwise, food was top notch. Meat very succulent and tasty. Ambience is nice. They has a highchair for the baby. For Dunstable I thought it was pricey, much closer to London prices. Came again and there was a private party with really loud music. Was not happy.

The dishes were tasty but for a Turkish restaurant, there’s wasn’t anything specific apart from the food. We had Romanian/ Albanian and Russian music( which was way too loud to even hear your thoughts)but nothing Turkish. The staff were running around like flies and it was a very loud and tense experience. Not relaxing at all. We stayed for 1.5 hours and come out with a headache. Shame as the food and aesthetics is really good.

Had to ask three different waiters before somebody would take a drink order. Two members of the party waiting nearly an hour for their first drinks. Prawns burns and dry as per pic. Very small portions compared to high price.

Went to Efes for a birthday celebration meal. The service, food, and atmosphere were great.

This restaurant always has been my family first choice since been open. I been yesterday and I order as usual special plate for 4 people, price has gone up to £99 from £62 that was from my last visit. No Issue about the price as I understand the living cost has gone up but on the plate food was reduced compared previous visits. Not sure if managing has changed as I saw new faces on the service but they were looking like they wanted to kick you out soonest they see an empty plate to take it from the table even the restaurant was empty..... Disappointed with the last visit...

This was a great meal wow! Such delicious food, and supremely generous portions - I couldn’t finish mine but they gave me a box so I could take it home because those leftovers were just too good to leave! The flavour of the meat and the tomatoes in the chicken shish was so delicious and the chicken had a nice char on the outside, and it was all beautifully balanced by the yoghurt on top. My group would all recommend the yoghurt version of the shish if you can. It was a bit more expensive but definitely worth it. The hot mezze platter for a starter was a great combo of their different starters if you can’t choose between them all! The service was really good, and the restaurant had a nice buzz on a Friday night. But the food is the real stand out here; a little way down the high street but walk those few extra minutes because it’s so worth it and I will definitely be back!

Waited 45 minutes to be asked for drinks. Waited Waited 30 minutes after that to be asked for food, which we had to hail the waiter, only to be served an expensive sub par kebab and missing starters. The restaurant was not even busy, absolutely appalling

Food was average nothing special, we came here because of the reviews and the fact it was halal. More expensive compared to many spots in London that we've been to that were tastier, reasonably priced and more attentive. I ordered chicken shish and my partner the Ali Nazik- shish was good 👍 but Ali Nazek not so much wasn't buttery or juicy it was dry and lacked flavour. You don't get the complimentary appetisers e.g. baba gunoush but u do get sauces and bread.

So many people have raved about Efes so maybe we just had an unlucky bad experience. However, we arrived and was not offered a drink. We had to try and hail down a waiter. One big concern is they do not have an allergen menu, this did cause an issue with my order. The manager was very apologetic but it is unacceptable to be careless with allergens. The majority of the waiters seemed nice but the service was REALLY slow. We were there over an hour before we even got a starter. As I said, my meal was not great but the rest of the party said their meals were OK. It is pretty expensive for the portion size. It's unlikely we will return.

Great dining experience and nice and busy atmosphere

Slow service and not at all attentive. Had to get up and approach the bar to get the basics of what was needed. Portions are small by most people’s standards and for the price they are charging it’s embarrassing. Felt like daylight robbery and then they have the cheek to hand us 3 tiny sachets of ketchup for 6 children. Someone is taking the patrons for a ride. Food was barely warm and really not worth writing about. Lacked flavour and not anywhere near the quality you’d hope for or expect. Save your money and go somewhere else!

Nice place for Turkish food. We went on Saturday night, the place was very busy and had a good atmosphere. However, the service was quite slow, hard to get the waiters attention to order drinks, food or anything. Did ask for extra salad a few times and nothing came. The mixed grill itself was very tasty. Good portion sizes. On the pricier side compared to other Turkish places.

Great Turkish place in dunstable . Have good vegetarian options. The complimentary bread and dips are yummy . The service is great have some Turkish cocktails and red wine along with usual drinks in the bar

Very nice food and pleasant service!

The place was very open and friendly, never been in and I didn't expected much. The food and service was great, just bit let down when nobody was at the entrance but I guess they were busy. During winter the tables close to the door can get the cold draft which wasn't great but food made it better.

Having not been there after a long time, I was eager to revisit. The food was still good. The waiters were very nice 👌. The space has been expanded. The price of the food seems to have gone through quadruple inflation on its own. It was too pricy for the Efes that I knew.

Was my second time dining here. The second was better than the first. Really loved my meal. Definitely go again.

I ordered vegetables moussaka. It was lacking the sauce ,and bland , not worth the the money of just under £19 , my husband had salmon which he enjoyed , the restaurant is to big and lacking atmosphere also was giving the wrong bottle of wine .

Just arrived in Dunstable after 5 years first time going here got to say food quality was excellent !!!!!! They have the friendliest staff amazing service plus the cocktail’s amazing drinks

Ordered the £99.90 platter for 4 people - only enough rice for 2. Asked for two extra portions of rice which they gave to us without arguing (it’s like they knew it wasn’t enough and just gave us what we wanted - sad for the customers who don’t like to complain and just get given what they get). Meat portion was OK - been to other Turkish restaurants where the platter comes out and our chins drop to the floor, this one wasn’t the case. We asked for starters to come together with mains. Ordered a £7.70 starter of two very thin pieces of halloumi and suzuk sausage… poor presentation and overpriced. The starters were forgotten about and we had to ask them where they were 10 minutes after brining out our main meals. They sat us in the “extra” part of the restaurant, freezing cold and two small portable heaters on the top of the bar which made no difference at all. Sat with my coat on the whole evening. Drinks are so overpriced. Nearly £4 for a 330ml of coke and £4+ for a J2O? Won’t be returning again.

Last night, my friends and I were looking for a good restaurant to go to have dinner. One of our friends said that there is one here. I heard a lot about it. Let's go there. We went there empty-handed. The price was reasonable and the food was great. We really had a great time. From now on, me and my friends. We will definitely come to this restaurant to have a meal whenever we have a visit, hoping to visit this restaurant next time.
