Overall good food but mains could be made better but the starters are succulent especcially the ribs the duck pancakes are aromatic and perfect to the tee

My single favourite restaurant in redditch by far. Have been visiting and ordering delivery from edo since it opened, and have never had a bad meal! The menu choice is huge and the quality of the sushi is some of the best we have had in the UK.

Place is nice, but it was the worst tepanyaki I've had. It was just a sizzling steak with bottled tepanyaki sauce splashed on top. Rice was not included, which made it expensive. Veg was a very small broccoli floret, no fried garlic, no bean sprout, and cabbage vegetables. I'm very disappointed, no wonder the place was empty.

The food is great...I had the best sushi I ever had in my life...service was good and the children loved it...will be back again and again...

Staff Attentive, Food we had was beautiful, apart from one starter, the edamame beans needed longer cooked and more rock salt. Everything else top notch. First time visiting and deffo our new go to place. We dressed up with the props provided and had a right giggle, ty to the lovely lady for helping us. Our guests from Northern Ireland really enjoyed their food here too. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed a ldinner here. Very large selection of dishes. Sizzling Chicken Udon on a hot platter was lovely. Waiting staff very efficient and helpful.

What a lovely surprise! I was dubious about going but so glad we did. I don’t understand why it wasn’t fully booked, Redditch is lucky to finally have a nice restaurant to go to! Menu was extensive but a little confusing for someone who doesn’t eat too much Japanese, but the friendly and knowledgeable staff helped out explaining what the dishes would look like and consist of. Really lovely, fresh food, presented beautifully in lovely surroundings. Looking forward to going back and trying something different! Definitely worth checking out.

Had a wonderful family meal at Edo, last night. Food was amazing, good size portions, brilliant to try something new. Staff were outstanding, very warm welcome, any questions answered in relation to the menu, very helpfully explained how to cook and eat the 'hotpot' which was a great eating experience at the table. We couldn't fault it at all. Don't be afraid to try something new! We were a family of 5 (3 generations) and everyone was so impressed! Thank you Edo, we had a wonderful evening!

A real gem in Redditch. We've had a few take-aways and they arrive perfectly every time. Today we tried the restaurant all you can eat. I was very impressed!

So traditional Japanese cuisine,serving and atmosphere.Fantastic fresh food,large portions and very nice special serving.Friendly attentive staff.At first I thought that it is simple buffet,I was surprised that this simple designed restaurant is so special and unforgettable.Warm sake and matcha tea,matcha tiramisu and matcha ice cream …Fantastic huge sushi rolls and X-Large ramen.I really love this place.Big hall with many tables,very clean inside and wide clean toilets.Entrance for disabled and friendly atmosphere for kids❤️Recommend for everyone 🙏

Visited on the 11th December for my Fiancées birthday. Immediately, we were greeted with a smile and taken to our table! The decor and table spacing was really inviting and there was instrumental piano playing over the speakers. Ordering was simple, and the waitress was attentive and offered to help with drink pouring and food preparing. It may seem pricey, but in comparison to chain Sushi like Yo Sushi! We spent a similar amount but the quality and quantity was much better! Couldn't recommend enough!

Even with the two-hour drive, I genuinely enjoy visiting this restaurant.The ramen is a real winner, the design is classy, and if anyone is dissing the vibe, they're missing out big time – this place is amazing! 🌟 Fab food, toilets cleaner than a royal's teacup, and some mellow Japanese beats. I'd say it's a must-visit, no doubt! 🤩👌

Pre Visit: Google advised that the restaurant is wheelchair accessible. However, when I contacted them (via Facebook) to ask if the restaurant is wheelchair accessible and about disabled facilities. They advised "We do not disabled facilities". I double checked by I called them, where I asked if restaurant is wheelchair accessible, and was advised "No". After Visit: There was miscommunication regard the restaurant being accessible. They contacted me and apologised for the miscommunication. The staff were very friendly and very apologetic. We were a party of six with a variety of food needs, which were all meet. All the food was amazing, and interesting to try some new dishes (which we had heard about). Staff was happy to recommend dishes, and advised if there was a certain or best way for the dish to be eaten. There was a good range of dishes and drinks. The majority of the drinks were from glass bottles, all served at the table in glasses. We all had a fabulous time, and talked about coming back again.

Really nice evening. Food was very good and a wide range available, very tasty and well presented. Attentive and friendly staff. The venue is a little bland, in need of a bit more interest in its decor, this does not detract from the food. Disabled access (wheelchair) to the venue and tables is excellent, but spoilt as no good wheel chair accessible toilets.

A real hidden gem.... use it so we don't lose it!!! Been a few times now, there's a beautiful decor with plenty of tables, a friendly welcome, and a great service throughout. The menu is vast and varied, with the wait for food being minimal, if more it's definitely worth it. 🍛🍤🍣 The food itself was very fresh and tasty for such good value. More importantly, it's authentic. Absolutely recommended 👌

A lovely restaurant with (I can only presume) authentic Japanese food. The food was very good - very different from what I'd usually eat, which was a welcome change. The vegan and vegetarian range is extensive - the people I was with enjoyed the rest of the food, also. Initially setting the table with chopsticks is a nice vote of confidence - though don't worry, they will ask you if you prefer a fork ;)

+ Quiet. Calmly. Beautiful interior. Nice relaxing music. - The room smells a little with different smells from the kitchen. Hand dryers in the toilets do not work. Food. Beautiful serving of dishes. The rolls are big. I didn't really like the taste. 3/5.

Actually it’s not an authentic Japanese cuisine style, but it’s not too bad to first try in here. Because the decorations of restaurant is full of atmosphere! More importantly, warning! ! !The food is not fresh especially in Salmon raw fish with wired and rancid smell in Summer!

One of the best Japanese Restaurants in West Midlands. When we are thinking about celebrations, EDO is always our first option and it never disappoints. From the starters to the desserts the quality and tastes of everything is outstanding.

What a fantastic restaurant. We absolutely loved our visit to Edo the food was spectacular, divine but also super affordable. And as far as hospitality goes, it was the best, really friendly and attentive. The food was quick to come out and tasted fresh. As for the restaurant itself, it's a very clean and calming environment to enjoy your meal in. We will 120% be going back, just wish I could eat in there every day. A real authentic slice of Japan.

Finally a decent takeaway of this kind in Redditch! We been living here for 3 years and struggled until this evening. Omg it’s unbelievably amazing!!! It took bit longer than said on Uber, but 1000% worth it that tiny extra wait! Every dish we had was cooked to perfection! So fresh, hot and just delicious! Nothing wrong at all! We will never go anywhere else again! Thank you :D

Have been here twice now and both times we have had different things and it’s all been delicious. Having been all over Japan, we can say this place definitely does the food justice. Great service too! We particularly enjoyed the dragon rolls, okonomiyaki and steak teppanyaki plus the bubble juices and matcha sundae were delicious!

The best restaurant for miles! We’ve been here a few times now and always have the best experience. The food is just incredible, the staff are wonderful and the place a delight! We went for my birthday at the weekend and they went above and beyond to make it a really special night. We put on all the gowns, they gave us a birthday cake with candle and let me hit the drums as we left. Cannot recommend enough!

Absolutely love this place and have been here at least 4 times in the past 3 months. The sushi is the best part and I definitely recommend getting a bubble juice to go with your meal. There is a good selection of mains too but we love the sushi so much we just had to get it every time. Service is also very friendly and attentive.

This is a very modern restaurant with a quiet environment. This is my choice for lunch almost every time I come to Redditch. I love the rice, they have a good enough selection of set menus, and the shrimp and beer are worth trying.

We visited Redditch this weekend & booked a table at Udo Japanese restaurant. I was sold by their fantastic website, advertising upmarket cuisine & was very excited to visit. When we arrived at the restaurant we were very surprised to see that it looked more like a canteen & there was only 1 other couple in the restaurant on a Saturday night. We were advised by the owner (quite a hard sell) to have the buffet, eat as much as you like for £26.50 each. She kept repeating 'its very good value'. We were told you could order 4 items each in 3 rounds. First round we ordered 4 starter items each, as to me, the whole idea of a buffet is to allow you to try different things. The Sushi was amazing, gyozos nice, but everything else we ordered wasn't very good, especially the prawn toast, which had never seen a prawn, it was nothing more than dried up fried bread with some sesame seeds. The salt & pepper chicken was ok but had LOADS of onions & I didn't enjoy the ribs & they had also been bulked up by LOADS of onions. My husband ate a fair bit (as he will eat anything) but as I wasn't really enjoying it I didn't want to waste the calories on food that I wasn't enjoying. We only left 1 1/2 prawn toast, the curry samosas & all the onions & a few pieces of sushi, which we asked them to leave & we would eat later. Our 2nd round, although they allowed you to order 4 items each, we only ordered sweet & sour chicken, pineapple rice & my husband ordered Terriaki chicken poke bowl, & some salt & pepper chips. I am a sweet & sour chicken expert - ate loads of it & it is my favourite food ever - but this was just not good & didn't taste very fresh. The pineapple rice had prawns in which also didn't taste very fresh - to the point I couldn't eat it & it put me off the rest of the food, & I couldn't eat the sushi that we had asked them to leave. My husband tried to pick at my food, but also didn't like the taste of it. The salt & pepper chips came out late but were nothing more than frozen chips that looked like they had been reheated & were inedible. We didn't bother ordering a 3rd round Although I was very disappointed with the food, we were happy to pay the £26.50 each & go on our way & put it down to a bad experience - but to our very surprise - they told us we had to pay a £5 surcharge each for wastage. WHAT!!!! PAY EXTRA FOR NOT EATING THEIR BAD QUALITY FOOD! NEVER EVER has this happened before in a restaurant. We didn't excessively order & I was leaving the restaurant hungry, I just didn't think the food was of a good standard so didn't want to eat it. We refused to pay the wastage amount & had a stand off with the owner. I explained that I didn't really enjoy the food, but they said unless the chicken was 'broken' we had to eat it or pay the surcharge!!!!! I genuinely do not understand the logic behind the wastage charge - if it is to prevent wastage & people over ordering, surely they should only allow you to order a couple of items each time or provide smaller portions (as they do in other restaurants). If Edo are reading this, I would be interested to know how much you consider wastage? Do the plates have to be completely empty or are a few crumbs acceptable? Were we expected to eat all the onions that a couple of the dishes were bulked up with? Im genuinely intrigued how you assess how much is wastage??? Do you really think it is fair to charge extra for food we didn't feel we could eat??? How does a £5 wastage charge help with your business, the food has been cooked & sold already, whether we eat it or not makes no difference to your profits I feel the 'buffet' concept is a total con, it is not a buffet & I feel they would have tried to charge us wastage no matter what, they ensured this by bulking up the items with onions. I was very upset by the whole expensive experience & would not recommend this restaurant for the food or the managements attitude. I am not the least bit surprised that the restaurant was empty on a Saturday night with their attitude & business acumen.

Yet another great meal from Edo. Nigiri sushi were very fresh and definitely the star of the show along with takoyaki balls! Good sushi, not too expensive either with alot of choice to choose from, large comb plater to 2 pieces single selection. Highly recommend trying out the Sukiyaki hot pot + the pork Ramen! You won’t be disappointed! Well Worth visiting!

Lovely food! We’ve been here several times now and always want to come back! Love the sushi and other dishes. My favourite is Salmon Lover Sushi. They give you a tablet instead of a menu and it still requires a code so they have to come back and enter it, it’s a bit strange but we don’t mind. Mango bubble juice with passionfruit bubbles is sooo yummy! Very friendly staff and delicious food. We will be back for sure.

Japanese food! In Redditch! Food is reasonably priced and pretty authentic. Hard to find good Japanese food in the UK, especially lesser known things like gyudon and okonomiyaki. They do a pretty good job.
