Soup acceptable?… could have made better.. and that says something…. Sandwiches dry?… who can’t make a sandwich?… seriously!, if you can’t, don’t have a cafe!!!…please learn!

What a wonderful surprise tucked away just off the main road to St Andrew's. The food is excellent and the cakes are beyond praise. A much better option to eat before or after a visit to St Andrew's rather than the crowded and expensive cafes at the latter. Seating is available either indoors or in fine weather an outside terrace overlooks the Eden estuary. The two ladies who run this cafe are full of fun and offer a lovely welcome. Unhesitatingly recommended.

Me and Gill went out looking for a new shed today but the guy we spoke to was useless and knew even less about sheds than I do with his best line in broken English “ yes it has 4 sides and a roof”… no mention of a floor though!! Anyway I digress I made the decision to pop in to the Eden Cafe at Gaurdbridge for lunch .Wee were greeted by 3 cheery wee faces who took our order. Gill had a Latte and a Brie and red Jelly toastie I had a bowl of lentil soup and a chicken mayonnaise sandwich and a cup of tea. Could have done with more chicken and mayo and less lettuce on the sandwich but it was very nice. Anyway, as we were leaving a member of staff ran up to me and said “ have you really retired from “ Pro Kerby”? I said “ yes I’m too old now” she burst into tears and said “my mum seen you win the Scone Open in 1985 and said it was the best day of her life” I signed a napkin and said “give that tae yer maw hen xx”. Service :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food Quality :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Value:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Went for a birthday lunch and all the team were so friendly, and the cake, tea, and soup and toasties were tasty. Love the interior with beautiful vintage crockery and there’s a super terrace too overlooking the river.

In an area where there don't seem to be any other cafes this was a lovely place to stop and have some tea and snacks overlooking the river . I had asked for an extra tea bag as my Earl Grey pot of tea was very weak and was told I would have to pay for another pot of tea if I wanted another teabag which I was quite shocked at. I had to explain that an extra tea bag just gives me a stronger tea rather than MORE tea :) Apart from that the other staff were lovely and friendly and the square sausage was delicious.

This lovely cafe is tucked away down by the 15th century bridge over the Eden estuary where the pilgrims walked on their way to St Andrews. It was only recently that I discovered it after lockdown eased but what a find! The coffee is excellent and the home baking a real treat, especially the scones. You can sit outside under shelter if the weather is unseasonal or inside in the cosy cafe. Around the little courtyard you can visit the antique centre, an attractive jewellery shop and a super little ice cream parlour. The owners have very shrewdly placed a number of bike racks for the many cyclists who cross over the old bridge! The staff are so welcoming and friendly that you cannot fail to enjoy your visit!

Waited a while for two suppers which was fine as it was a nice day. I usually go to other chippies so thought I'd try this one. I wish I had went to the other ones because the food was so oily it made us both feel sick. Not joking I had to spit the bit of fish out onto a napkin and tried to eat the peas which were fine but could not eat the fish. It looked delicious though, one other thing was the batter made it look like it was a thick bit of fish but when you bite into it there was barely any fish inside it. Anyhow I decided after feeling sick I would just bin it, when I picked the napkin up it was oil soaked, now remember this was from one single bite of the fish. That's a lot of oil if one bite has soaked a napkin. Unfortunately I won't be back. Near £30 for food fit for the bin which in this climate isn't ideal. I couldn't just go elsewhere and spend the same again, not to mention being put off due to the amount of oil. Overall disappointing experience that I don't wish to repeat.

Sushi was not cold and nothing really tasted like sushi from any of the places I've ever had it (30-40 times in the last 10 years). Imitation krab used as well instead of real crab. Haggis roll was alright, as was the tempura, but definitely not going back. Quality was less than supermarket sushi.
