Eco - Clapham in Lambeth

Amazing food and service, a warm and welcoming family feel, would highly recommend!

The food was abysmal. The salt and pepper squid was rubbery and chewy, the tempura was saturated with oil that oozed out as soon as you took a bite, and the artichoke pasta was overcooked and cloying. The service was extremely slow. I've been a few times, but since the move to Venn St, the quality has significantly dropped. We will not return.

Absolutely shocking. Served stone cold starters by a drunk owner. I sent it back kindly and then received an even colder plate of food. Ice cold in the middle. We asked to leave and he was drunk and rude. Not much more to it. Been here for years and will now never go again.

Thanks for looking after us and giving us such a positive experience… We’ve been back twice since our first visit !

Love this place - a local gem and recommend you make a booking! The staff and food are both excellent - thank you Renato for looking after us so well! Excited for the outdoor space in the summer! Also I went with a mate who had the gluten free pasta and she said it was the best she’d tried!

I’ve been coming to Eco every few weeks for 15 years - It’s simply incredible. The food is amazing (and even BETTER at the new location!), the service is superb, and the general hospitality is a notch above Clapham’s other restaurants. The chief has his fingers on the pulse and genuinely wants to know his food is up to scratch so will often come out the kitchen to speak to patrons. Can’t recommend Eco Clapham enough. 🙏🏽

Vinimos aquí para cenar con nuestra hija pequeña y fue un éxito, me quedé impresionado por lo atento, amable y amable que era todo el mundo. Todos fueron encantadores con mi hija, charlando con ella e incluso explicando cómo funcionaban las cosas en la cocina. Múltiples camareros y cocineros realmente fueron más allá y no puedo agradecerles lo suficiente, mi hija pasó la noche sonriendo de oreja a oreja! Teníamos pizzas cada uno y todos estaban deliciosos. Me impresionó el tamaño del menú de los niños especialmente, era básicamente el tamaño de un adulto tan increíble valor. Realmente recomiendo este lugar agradable, fantástico para familias.

In the past me and my family had a good experience at Eco and that is why we dine here time to time. However on the last occasion we were here, we didn’t have a good time as most of the staff were looking at us constantly making us feel very uncomfortable! The only friendly people were the two male chefs. The food was alright but the cheese bread that we ordered for a toddler wasn’t great because it was very dry and wasn’t as cheesy as it is expected. The young waitress knew we were looking for something suitable for the baby and is aware we ordered the cheese bread for the little one but he didn’t make us aware it wouldn’t be suitable for a small child! Anyway we will give Eco one more chance next time for the old time sakes.

By far the best restaurant in Clapham High Street. The Food is Great, the Staff are Lovely and it is Excellent Value for money. No cutting corners here with the quantity or the quality of food or drinks. Renato makes amazing Negronis with genuine ingredients.

We had a great time at Eco Restaurant. Very polite waitress welcomed us and found us a nice table to accommodate our pram. The food was beautifully served and delicious. The team was very kind and caring. A special thanks to Jeck for the delicious pizza ! We will come back for sure ! The desserts were exquisite ! Highly recommended !

Our server, Sameh was extra attentive, especially to the little one that was tugging along! A great seafood risotto, great lasagne and great pizza!

Just wanted to share that we had an amazing night at Eco Clapham Common. Great food and service 10/10. We had a larger group but everyone was happy and meals came out efficient. Could not fault it.

This is a fantastic restaurant conveniently located near my home. I love that they offer so many healthy food options. The salad with grilled prawns is particularly delicious, and the guacamole toast is amazing! Definitely worth trying!

Firstly the service was good the staff were really friendly and were happy to take our group photo. The food was also delivered nice and quick, however It was boiling hot inside, they had air con but was apparently “broken”. There was no lock on the toilets but they were clean. For starters I had the garlic bread which I will say was delicious however I then ordered the Lasagna for my main and was really disappointed. The plate was swimming in very watery “sauce”and the lasagna it’s self still resembled the plastic tub I presume it came from, the taste was that of a cheap ready meal. And finally wine was served in just a regular glass but with warm tap water as my other option I stuck to a safe Diet Coke. Sorry wish I could leave a better review.

Was looking for a nice local Italian restaurant that was good pricing and got exactly that, the food was so flavourful and service was quick and my server (Nina I believe ) was very attentive and efficient! Definitely recommend for a nice dinner if you’re local and want a good option of different foods

I had a fantastic experience at the restaurant eco, my waitress Nina was so lovely and helpful she had great customer service. My experience dinning was immaculate the salad I got was fantastic which is what my waitress recommended. The food was great and it came to us in minutes so the wait time was not long at all ! The atmosphere was very blissful. A lovely place for dinning and the waitresses work really hard, would definitely come back !

If looking for great food in Clapham, here’s your answer. Service can be a bit slow at times, but it’s always super friendly. Highly recommend the Venison Ragu with fresh Pappardelle pasta.

La pasta salió todavía en forma de recipiente de microondas cuadrado y se olvidaron de nuestros lados hasta que pedimos y luego se entregaron al final de nuestra comida. Se sintió intimidado cuando se le pidió que eliminara el cargo por servicio y amablemente mencionó la decepción en la comida que fue completamente ignorada. Pérdida de tiempo y dinero.

We came here for my birthday meal and the staff went over the top to make it special! We also have a member of our group who has lots of dietary requirements and they made sure she was still able to have a fabulous meal full of flavour :)

Love ECO, have been coming for years. However, the ridiculous side salad for £4.95 looks like it's been pulled out of a cupboard and plonked on a plate. Told the manager, and he said, "Yeah, we know. Everyone complains about it". I asked why is it still being served, "It's up to someone else". Poor excuse. Pizza is great; don't have the side salad.

Calzone is the thing to have. Very good service and the pizza came hot from the pizza oven within 5 minutes of ordering. Nice touch of a complimentary lemoncello as we finished our meal.

The food at this restaurant was okay, but it took longer than expected to arrive, even though the place wasn't particularly full. The risotto rice was overcooked; ideally, it should be al dente, but that's just my opinion - portions were acceptable. The service was mixed: the waitress who led us to our table was really nice, while the one who brought us the food (Italian, based on her accent) wasn't particularly friendly. Overall, the experience was ok, but there are better and more authentic Italian restaurants around.

We booked a last minute table for 12 people as we had family visiting from the US. From the very start the service was brilliant - having a table with 8 adults and 4 kids is pretty chaotic but the staff were brilliant. The food was excellent and we enjoyed our meals. Thank you so much for accommodating us 1) at short notice and 2) managing the chaos with a warm small, friendly service and in VERY hot conditions. We all were raving about how nice and relaxed the meal was for us. Thanks again!

Good food and friendly environment

27/05/2024 - 13.30ish. Verbally and publicly harassed by manager. Went for lunch. Service wasn’t particularly good and slow, didn’t have a consistent server but very happy with the food, as we’d been multiple times previously, including bringing friends. Asked for the discretionary 12.5% service charge to be removed from the bill. The manager (middle aged, white, blue shirt, balding or short hair) became verbally aggressive towards us. Exclaimed loudly to us and nearby guests that he’d taken it off because ‘specially for us as we couldn’t afford the service charge’ when bringing a revised receipt and again while paying. As we tried to leave after paying, he harassed my wife and I all the way out the door, shouting that if we wanted a discount we should be students and to ask others for discounts. We’d paid full price for the food; a tip is optional based on quality of service. Completely unacceptable behaviour and we will not be returning or recommending again.

This is absolutely the worst food I’ve had in a long time. The calamari was oily with the worst batter, I’m not sure it was fresh because the calamari was so rubbery. The risotto seafood we ordered was tasteless. Just pretty awful for £48. The first waitress was probably finishing her shift so she was just so moody and impatient. Would not recommend going here before 6pm!

Went with a group of gay friends the male waiter was clearly homophobic as soon as he saw us he said there is no available table which was a lie cause there were so many empty tables, we had to wait there and eventually had to walk away we were all so upset. The places like. The people like him should not work in places like Clapham, to my community stay away from this place!

Welcoming environment, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff (Laura made us feel at home). Excellent quality food, very efficient service with very short waits and excellent value for money. We booked a table at this restaurant as we wanted a pasta meal before running the London marathon. The food was so good that we decided to go back after finishing as we couldn't resist getting one of their pizzas. The staff are very attentive and the food is great. We will definitely come back again when in the area again.

This was my first visit here, the menu looked good. However I had the worst carbonara I've ever had. I was told it was creamy, but it wasn't. The "sauce" was clumped up. The dish was flavorless. I mentioned it to the server and she said to try another pasta next time. Otherwise the food was hot, the restaurant was clean, and service was fine. Will not be returning.

Almost 30 months since my last visit (10/21) but I took two of my colleagues for lunch earlier today at Eco - an Italian family run restaurant iin Clapham High St. I had my favourite Caesar Salad and chicken and must it was as good as ever - so much so, Ali look forward to my next visit.
