Placed an order online for collection, never had any issues before. Went in to collect my order, a man was waiting at the counter and thought my order was his…the staff member said no we’re waiting on fresh chips!!! SO THATS THE REASON OUR CHIPS WERE NOT GOOD - won’t be at that chippy anytime soon ☹️

been here a few times, and only come because kids like chips. fish is usually small and in soggy batter. If there was any competition locally for fish & chips this place would likely struggle

Really went downhill lately, girl on till speaking 100 miles per hour with arrogant attitude, food burnt to a crisp, roof of my mouth cut with the shrapnel. Dont know what’s happening to ebis but its really took a nosedive in the last month or so, no wonder the new chippy around the corner is qued out, now i know why.

Asked for a thin base. Got thick base with virtually no ingredients. This went straight in the bin after 2 bites. Totally tasteless and unappetising. Crackers and cheese for me. Save your money and go elsewhere

I would’ve been better off going to tesco, buying some pedigree chum dog meat and had that for dinner. Food is freezing, minging and wasn’t what I asked for This place used to be good but went wayyyy down hill over the past few years Won’t be using again. I’m sick of them!

Ordered in online didn't arrive after 1 hour 30 minutes so I phoned them and they said they didn't have a order from me. Checked my account and they had taken the money off my account. Worst chip shop and service I have seen

I live locally and have had a few disappointing experiences. From under cooked chips to wrong orders pretty much constantly. But Monday night really took the biscuit. My partner ordered a mixed kebab. Was barely a few bites into it he felt something hard as he was chewing. He spat it out and there was a STAPLE in the kebab meat!! A STAPLE. It was a new staple, the ends were not bent. The food is wrapped in paper so it couldn’t have even came out the bag as we opened it (the receipt is stapled to the bag) and if it did it would have been a used one. We have tried contacting the restaurant, unable to get through and no way of contacting management online. This could have been very much worse. I just hope there wasn’t another one before that went unnoticed His meal was binned after only a few bites. Absolute waste. Never in my life have I found something like a staple in my food.

Fish supper was one of the best I’ve had. Fresh fish, crispy batter and chips done to perfection. Came in a cardboard box too. Perfect.

Word of warning; the prices on the menu boards are not the current prices - they just haven’t updated them yet. I did point out that advertising the wrong prices seemed like an easy way to lose customers but luckily the owner said losing customers is no problem to him. Maybe he needs to lose a few more to take the edge off his arrogance.

We have visited a few times now for takeaways during lockdown and I have to say this is the Best fish and chips I’ve tasted in a long time in the Lanarkshire area . The fish is fresh , meaty of good quality and not overcooked like a lot of places do. They had screens up and we had to wait outside until food was ready so under trying circumstances they did a fab job of trying to keep customers safe . I do feel it’s important now for only one member of staff to be touching money to avoid cross contamination between food and dirty money ; as gloves are being worn so I just hope that’s the case as I didn’t notice . I just know other carry outs are wearing gloves but touching food then money with the same gloves on and this is just wrong and unacceptable hygiene practices . This puts me off going back to places . Customers notice these things . Personally I prefer no gloves and good hand hygiene practice .

Ordered meal and waited an hour before calling for an update. Was told the driver had just left but 15 minutes later it hadn't arrived (I live 2 minutes away) so I called again, but was met with someone who said the order hadn't been out for 15 minutes until she actually checked and realise it had and the owner picked up the phone and repeatedly said "listen darling" when I asked how long it would be. Driver turned up after another 15 minutes with a mix of luke warm and cold food. I cant bring myself to call back for a refund because I cant stand "listen darling" at the start of every sentence. Patronising owner who would never speak to a man like that.

Why are no face coverings worn by staff? We are all trying our best to keep businesses open so shouldn't they try and keep us safe... Fish supper was very nice but won't return until this is done.

Ordered a large pizza (we asked for jalapeños on half of it), a small pizza, bag of chips with salt and vinegar and curry sauce. Order arrived with 3 errors. The small pizza was missing. There was no salt and vinegar on the chips and there were jalapeños on the full pizza. The missing pizza arrived 20 mins later by which time the large pizza and chips were cold. Food is ok, service is appalling. As can be seen from the reviews, this is a common occurrence. Our orders have something wrong with them 25% of the time. There is little competition in Carluke so no incentive for them to improve. Quite poor.

Great special fish supper. Generous portions Very nice indeed. Food was hot, chips were very good. Worth a visit

Firstly the quantity of chips in each meal is shocking very stingy, it’s like a lunch time meal and the staff don’t listen to your order they get it wrong all the time. Maybe if they had staff on the front desk that knew what they were doing then wouldn’t be as bad. NOT RELIABLE

Have used Ebis a few times now, we have always found the pizzas to be great but they don’t deliver on time so we have to put them in the microwave.

Ordered delivery today, I understand it just after Xmas and delivery would be expected to be slow. Took close to 1 hour 30 minutes. Was missing 2 kebab sauces, and 1 full meal. Couldn't get a hold of them by phone so drove down with receipt. Girl at counter seemed frustrated that I even turned up, handed me my missing meal and sauce with no apology or communication, wouldn't even refund my delivery charge or offer anything as an apology. Will never use them again. Awful service. Food portions were very small considering the high prices.

Would have been five stars, as the pizzas are absolutely delicious. However after being told delivery would take 45 minutes and then after one and half hours and two phone calls later the food arrived cold!! Very disappointing!! We were offered a fresh delivery however were too hungry to wait at least another half hour by the time fresh pizza was cooked.

Ordered a pizza crunch with salt and vinegar and a pickle. Also asked for a chicken kebab with chilli sauce and small bag of chips with salt and vinegar.

Best chip shop in CARLUKE, ask for more sauce and you get it , cant beat chips with brown sauce, small fish supper is good value as my mother dosnt eat a full one now

Excellent chip shop only let down by ni chicken breast suppers had to buy half a chicken this with chips was far to much for us and my mother. Food wastage at it's best

Didn't have white pudding so I ordered potatoes fritters...absolutely awful....that soggy when I picked up the bent over.

Probably the worst fish and chips have had in along time batter not good chips tasted like they had been reheated .Very disappointed.would not recommend

Go somewhere else as their delivery service is appalling. They tell you 45mins and its like forever. Customer service a joke......I called asking where the delivery was and got told it had just left shop and would be 5mins, nearly 20mins later it arrived.......lukewarm to say least! Absolute disgrace!!!!

Ordered a pizza tonight and an hour later it arrived cold and the wrong toppings, will not get another delivery poor service and poor quality 😩😩😩

Moved to Carlyle about 6mths ago, visit here once a month and never had a bad meal yet.

New to Carluke and was recommended for Fish & Chips. Very nice too. Fresh and Hot, and plenty of it. Right on time too for delivery, very impressed. Pleasant change thank you guys. Keep up the good work. Chips were lush.

One hour and forty minutes wait for a delivery. Phoned twice to ask where it was as my kids were hungry. Cheeky girl on the phone arguing that my food will be hot!! Manager said he has made us a fresh order. LIES soggy chips, fish and roll for my burger disgusting. Was a good customer won't be back!!

Moved to Carluke. Fancied a chippy, which doesn't happen too often. Was planning on trying Alfies (no real reason for choosing them) but they were closed, so went to Ebi's. It was packed so waited quite a while but every member of staff was working hard so fine. Food's good - not a chip shop connoisseur but it was fresh. Been back again, same experience but with less of a wait - will probably keep going here, Alfie's let themselves down by closing up shop. I don't see why there's ever a need for this - they don't appear a family place from the outside looking in so there must be someone to run the place at all times?!

Phoned for a deliveryto be told my order would take 30 mins. Ended up taking 90 mins. When it arrived the pizza and chips were stone cold. Very very disappointing.

Horrible chips, tiny fish. Very greasy. Or cold. Olyg good thing is the pizzas that are very good. Expencive . Avoid

Local chip shop for us and can I say the best Special Fish supper in town. Fish is always tasty and plenty of it. Made fresh when you go in.

I prefer this chippy to the other one around the corner. They are open longer the other one is empty and shutting down before 10pm. Chips always seem fresher in Ebi's, maybe just the time I normally get there. Portion size always seems bigger. The big plus is you can get parked without getting a parking ticket.

I decided to get a takeaway on Sat night as a treat to myself and I was so disappointed when my order arrived. First off while on phone, girl I was speaking to was trying as hard as she could to get me off the phone and didn't repeat order BACK to me which I thought was rude much??!! Anyway, order came; waited twenty mins which is good for a Sat night. Opened up order and what do I find? My order wrong!! I asked for a large sausage supper (check) with salt (none) and curry sauce over supper (where the fook was it??!!!!). My dinner was plain. Tried phoning back but line was busy so I ended up having to use my own red sauce. Trust me when I say this: get my order wrong again and I will go back to using Alfie's!!!! Capache??

Great takeaway, nice food and the staff are always nice. Great Pizza and tikka kebabs. Handy location. Typical modern chip shop menu. Worth a visit.

Customer service was not very nice and also the portions of chips for £1.70 is shocking I recommend the management to sort the staff attitude and smile and also to give a reasonable portions in the future

I have used Ebi's twice before first time it was greasy and everything was soggy. The second time we weren't made aware while phoning the delivery that they weren't delivering until an hour and a half after we placed the order. Then when we phoned to inquire where our food was we were told they weren't delivering. Definitely won't be using again!

I usually use alfies but fed up waiting over an hour for delivery so used ebis for a sausage supper for my daughter n i had a fish supper. Both were very good although fish a little greasy, chips were excellent.

Bought a fish supper when i got it home ( which is only 2 minutes away) the fish was stuck to each other and the batter was soggy.. never had a fish supper like that before from there.. I will think twice before going back..

Food can be greasy at times when delivered so my advice would be pick it up fresh as it is so much nicer chips are tasty please be aware though that the website offering 10% off does not include Carluke postcodes which is why it's not 5*

Ordered a 9" vegetarian and 12" no sauce with onion and smoked sausage.

Ebis is good for a fish tea but is basically a chippy with a tearoom attached, nothing fancy great for a quick stop to eat or takeaway from the chippy.
