Ebis Bistro Cafe in North Lanarkshire

Had lunch here on Saturday while passing through Coatbridge. It’s now called Twenty3. I had the salt and chilli chicken, which was lovely with sweet chilli sauce. Nice big portion. I had the lasagne and chips for my main course, it was really tasty and again, a nice big portion. The staff were so lovely, really polite and helpful. Service was quick as well. Nice place inside, comfortable and smart.

The best it's been brilliant service and even better food nice warm and friendly will definitely be back again very affordable prices

It was our first time in the bistro. My daughter and I came in for lunch with the baby. It was great as they had changing for baby . The place is lovley and clean. We had the fish and chips with mushy peas and bread.with 2 soft drinks , it was lovley. It came to only 12.95. service was good also. Will be back ..

Went for a family meal yesterday and for an italian restaurant had no parmesan cheese or lasagne and the chips were cooked in dirty oil tasted terrible. They had no card machine I was given a hand written receipt on a scrap of paer when I asked for the bill, and overcharged no sign up to say cash only and the place was freezing. Never be back absoloute disgrace and the place is filthy and needs a complete overhaul of cleaniless and furniture. The service was slow and nothing professional about it.

The food was lovely, we went there when there was the steak meal for £7.50. Tasted amazing. Staff were very helpful. It was very quiet when we were there. Would recommend and may go back again

Would not recommend this place firstmrs thing we got there said we had not book starters ok main meal steak coulnd not cut in to it complained nothing was said no ice no steak pie !! No chicken wings for a starter food crap service ok will never be back

We came and had from pre theatre menu. Lots of my favourites on the menu. Style and decor makes this a friendly little place. Young waitress was really friendly and helpful. Food was hot and tasty. We will return

No where in coatbridge can you get the service and quality food then ebis so being your friends and family for a nice meal

Ate here with a member of my family. Granted there aren't many places you can get 2 courses for 5.95. Food was ok, you pay for what you get. Didn't really appreciate the eldest of the waitresses talking about her life story to another customer, also don't really appreciate foul language either, while trying to enjoy a chat and have some lunch either! The 'F' word was used about 2 or 3 times in every sentence, not to mention her talking loudly about a 'druggie' customer! Poor show for a restaurant that a lot of people I know speak highly of! The furniture in the restaurant is falling apart. 1 of the chair legs came off and the gentleman eating near us complained that his table and chair were wobbling about- the cleanliness of the place is pretty shocking. The salt and pepper dishes on the table were absolutely filthy and the dish they sit in were even worse. Tables near us had been cleared but not sanitised or wiped down- frames on the wall dusty and smeared- absolutely disgusting! The foul mouthed waitress then proceeded to stand at the open front door and smoked a cigarette, letting the smoke into the restaurant, safe to say I ate less than half my main course due to this. I must say the young girl with the long curled hair was lovely and gave great service throughout. It is cheap, food was average but I can honestly say I'll never be back due to the poor service from one of the waitresses and the poor cleaning!

Had food ranging from pasta to steak and it was all lovely. Bonus that you can also take your own wine. Great value for the money.

First time yesterday with the groupon deal. Was really impressed with the food. Ordered the same thing from guidis few weeks back and it wasn't a patch on ebis!! I was surprised at how tasty the pasta i ordered was. 2 courses for 2 people for £12 and the pasta was beautiful. Wont spend another penny at guidis. Couldn't fault this place at all for the service and the value. We will definitely be back.

Got a Groupon deal for 2 steak dinners and drinks for 2, got there and they had no licence to sell alcohol so was 2 soft drinks and they had a sign up for a steak meal for £7.50 which is strange as I paid £22 for my 2 which was supposedly a saving from £52.80 so felt ripped off right away but though I would give the food a try, paid £3.45 for 4 very small pieces of chicken pakora as a starter which was ridiculous and then came the main course which tasted like it had been marinated in salt, service was also very slow and when asked about desserts we were told they only had 2 things left as they were very busy, I could not in good faith recommended this eatery to anyone and I will definitely not be returning .

Great place for lunch/dinner . Cheap menu (personally I'd charge more) but quality food! Pizza' s are fantastic!! Nice atmosphere and children are always welcomed which I feel is a nice touch.

Visited Ebis on a recommendation was not disappointed. Excellent food and service prices are great. Will be back

Went for lunch chose the £5.95 2 course menu waited ages for starters then at least half an hour for mains possibly more had meatballs which was bland to say the least was offered parmesan said yes please needles to say I'm still waiting for it. Daughter had macaroni cheese also bland and lacking in cheese. All in a disastrous lunch won't be back

Been here a few times now and it's really nice. There is a lot to choose from off the menu which is handy if dining with someone who is picky. The breakfasts are really tasty and you get a few breakfast options! They also do a £6 lunch menu where you get 2 courses which is really nice and filling as the portions are quite decent sized too. Would recommend for somewhere quick and local to go to.

We went along here for a meal on Monday .my partner showed the waiter our voucher he was told we could only have steak pie or fish. When the waiter came to the table I informed him we had a two course meal for two voucher .we were then told what we could choose from the menu . I chose a mushroom starter which was only three mushrooms and a but lettuce and dip My. Partner chose a prawn cocktail , then we both had spaghetti bolognese was mostly spaghetti .then to pay for drinks we were informed cash only so we had to use a nearby cash machine .wasnt a pleasant dining experience all round . Won't be back

Visited with family on Saturday evening andcould not fault food, service and cost. Minestrone Soup delicious and home made, as was the Steak Pie and Chicken dishes, also good choice of puds. Service very good and friendly and excellent value. Only disappointment was not down to the restaurant but lacked atmosphere as there was only 2 other tables filled. Do not understand why local people not supporting this restaurant as we do not have very many in our town.

Went for a family dinner, food was cold and not what was described in the menu, chips looked/tasted like chips from a chip shop that had been left out all day, sauces were congealed. Service was terrible, waitress looked like she didn't want to be there, constantly on phone and was interested when we complained about our meals. Will not be back and would not recommend.

I really don't understand why the place had bad reviews. We visited today 2 adults and 1 5 year oldMyself and partner ordered from the 5.95 lunch menu and the portions and quality of food was amazing. The chips were fab. Macaroni and spaghetti both amazing. Kids portion was excellent and the desserts yummy. Food made fresh to order I presume so if you don't like to wait then McDonald's is a better bet for you!!Overall an easy 5 stars

Nice lunch, great chips & really good service the chicken in sauce was very tasty, portions are just the right size nothing left on the plate

We were in tonight and had the chef's special of spag bol and garlic bread it was lovely , well presented and a generous portion ( couldn't eat it all!!) Also had the mozzarella sticks which were lovely .Also I had the steak pie chips and veg for lunch last week and it was beautiful ,again nicely presented and a very generous portion . Service is good and staff are friendly . I have had a great meal and been full each time I've been will definitely be going again! Highly recommend !!!

Me and my friend decided to try this bistro for a girls lunch, although the place is lovely inside, we waited about 20 minutes to order, even although it wasn't busy or short staffed, our starters arrived I got the chicken pakora which was lovely but the side salad was drowned in balsamic dressing my friend ordered the minestrone soup which basically was a heap of vegetables, while halfway through eating our starter I actually had to physically go to the bar and ask the waitress for our drinks, which she had forgotten as she was to busy chatting to friends\family, we both ordered the macaroni which was absolutely disgusting neither of us could eat it, even the chips weren't very nice, however the waiter did ask when we were leaving why we didn't eat our meal we explained and gave us £5 off our bill, which was decent of him but it was a waste of money!

Tried this place for the first and last time today. Service was awful food was worse. I couldn't eat my main course and was refunded a fiver to be fair, but a couple of ladies next to us who had hardly touched their steak pies requested to have their meals to be boxed to take home. I kid you not the server handed them 2 silver trays to scrape their food into. Also finished my starter before I even received my drink and even then my friend had to ask twice. Wouldn't go back.

Very pleasant and friendly Bistro with a great variety of Italian dishes, fish chips with kids menu to. Ebis doesn't have a licence but does allow you to bring your own alcohol .

Visited sat night as had a group on dinner for four starters and main for £24 some deal the only draw back no licence but that didn't stopUs from having a supper night service very good couldn't fault a thing with the starterOr the main give it a try b back here nice wee Comfy place no rip of prices spot on thanks

Visited to try the two course lunch deal, fish was nice though didnt like the chips. Brraded mushrooms dry & overcooked. Steak Pie wasnt enjoyable and kids meal was the cheap version of chicken nuggets again overcooked. Fish tea deal is good value and overall it was edible but just not for me.

Great deal from groupon me and my girlfriend went here sunday night food was nice. The server was great. Will be back

Had thee most gorgeous lasagne,served with side salad and 3 slices of garlic bread,best I've tested in a long while,very reasonable price wise,spend less than £40,that was for 3 main meals,3 sweets and 3 soft drinks,only gripe would be they don't serve alcohol,but you can bring your own. Will definitely be back

This was the second time that my husband and I had used a groupon voucher to eat here but it will be the last. Unlike the first time where you could have a starter and any of the main meals up to a value of roughly 8 quid this time it was only pasta or burgers. My husband had the lasagna, it looked very dry and I had one of the pasta dishes which was okay but could have cooked better at home. When we went to pay the bill (after already having handed over the voucher) we were given a bill for the full price of the meal, so what you say, a simple mistake, but the first time we were there the same thing happened, coincidence I don't think so. Shame I had to write this review!!

Looks nice, music relaxing, food ok, dirty cutlery, dirty floor and no customer service as waited over half an hour for breakfast and waiter hardly spoke except to his friend who always has best seat in house at window. Won't be back and will forget Groupon voucher. Tried it but to long to wait and no interaction with customers

After a slow service the food was quite edible. The staff are quite attentive but could be better. We went for lunch but if I was in a hurry I wdnt go again.

Lovely for breakfast 'lunch ' dinner or even just a small snack or a coffee do great offers on meals not overly busy decor beautiful staff lovely a must if in Coatbridge ' only thing small

It did not cost very much. Service was great, food was ok. I enjoyed my dinner but my husband and kids did not enjoy their's as much.

Thought i would try Ebis today as its local for our Easter Sunday lunch/dinner. Very nice food,lovely decor,nice atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. Only down side is they dont yet have a licence to sell alcohol ( but you can bring in your own alcohol ). I think once they have their drinks licence it will make a big difference but still, without it;a nice place to eat.

Went here with a voucher and had read the mixed reviews. My husband had the breaded mushrooms and the lasagne. The lasagne was a bit dry and only 3 mushrooms in the portion but said it was tasty enough. I had the barbecue chicken wings and then the veggie pizza. Chicken wings really nice pizza a bit soggy in places but probably the vegetables. Staff lovely service prompt. The only complaint was food debris on the floor. Will definitely go back and try something different. Give it a go, don't think it will disappoint good value for money.

Love this wee gem of a place, always have great food and cheap lunches, my favourite has to be the pate... homemade and delicious!

i don't want to make another booking as to be honest the service is terrible! we've been 4 times and the decor is lovely, the food is great but the service is the worst ever!!! the guy that seems to always be there is always unhappy (not rude) but unwelcoming! there's no rapore with customers, takes too long to take drink orders and then food orders! maybe he should spend less time reading a newspaper at the bar and more time looking after customers!CUSTOMERS!

When it opened this restaurant was excellent but it's been downhill from there. Our most recent visit saw inedible food being put on the table - twice we returned such produce. As we left, the manager saw fit to try and argue away their imperfections - incredible!

In have dined for last 3 years in this place and never dissapoint's me the food has always been good quality, I love the meatball starters and lasagne main course, the wine is excellent, the staff are always friendly.I think this place has been consistent in it's quality and is a real asset to Coatbridge.They cater for all from serve breakfast, coffee and cake, lunch and dinner including wine on pre theatre.

Really pleased with our visit last night, there was 40 of us booked in for a club night was fantastic. Staff were so helpful couldn't fault them. Created a great atmosphere for us, everything went really smoothly. Everyone enjoyed their food.Thanks for a great evening - From Bannan fitness

Had a lovely piece of fish in a very pleasant atmosphere. Husband really enjoyed his steak pie. Service was proficient, price reasonable , toilets immaculate and stylish. The murals certainly give you something to talk about. Would go again, nae borra.

Visited for the first time recently using a Groupon voucher - 2 courses for 2 people for £12.Booking was hassle free, phoned the restaurant and was able to get booked in for later that day, restaurant was nicely decorated and well laid out and staff were friendly and service was good.Good choice of starters and mains (Pizza, Burger, Pasta) to chose from, went for the chicken pakora starter which was 3 small pieces of chicken pakora, side salad and dip. For my main I opted for the Penne Arrabiata as this is one of my favourite dishes. I have to say I was really disappointed, it was bland and had no flavour and as such I had to use half the salt and pepper from the table to get even a hint of flavour. There was no offer of black pepper or Parmesan as is often the case when ordering this dish in other restaurants. The sauce was lumpy and nothing like I had ever tasted in an arrabiata dish before, infact my sister was given a jug of the same sauce as part of her burger and chips meal. I had a side of garlic bread at an additional charge of £1.95 which was fine. The portion size was reasonable. As I said my sister had the burger and chips which she said was nice.A can of soft drink was £2.00. Desserts were roughly around £4.00 each however we didn't order any so cant comment on the taste although there was a reasonable selection to choose from.Toilets were clean and well looked after.Given the arriabiata wasn't great I'm not sure I would rush to go back or if I did I would order something else.

Visited Ebis Italian bistro as purchased groupon deal £12 for 2 courses for 2 - starter & main meal each. There are restrictions on menu choices however plenty to choose from. I chose chicken pakora & king prawn pasta (£2 supplement for seafood). Food, decor and service was faultless. A little quiet and if honest Ebis may have to up game as lots of competition in Coatbridge district. I as already said can't fault food it was beautiful infact booked another right away (still on groupon )for four people this time totalling £23. What a bargain! What are you all waiting for this place is brilliant. Would have got top marks only too quiet (was on our lonesome ) Make it 5 next time folks.

The food was excellent and great value for money. Although the restaurant looks tiny from the outside its actually quite big inside and the decor is lovely. Toilets were spotless. I have marked the restaurant down as they had no vodka which meant a member of our group had to have a soft drink instead. I will definitely visit again though.

Food is outstating, staff great go here for food you will not be disappointed,the best chips and peppercorn sauce I've ever tasted

Good atmosphere, nice quality food, staff friendly. Been for breakfast and lunch quite a few times now and it is always the same good, fresh food. Breakfast - well have the full monty, it's worth it. For lunch I can't go by the macaroni cheese and chips - delicious.

Enjoyed a very nice 2 course lunch and coffee for a very reasonable price. Large choice of dishes. Had the burger which was very tasty as were my friends meals. They too were impressed and both of them made return visits with their partners

relaxing experience , you can go in on your own or with friends or groups , they are very helpful. I recommend the fish tea , you get fish , chips , peas and bread and butter and tea , the price 's are very reasonable . Though cheap they don't scrimp on food or quality .

Found Ebis bistro and went in for breakfast was absolutely gorgeous. Since been for an evening meal and it was lovely. Fast friendly service and great value. Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Highly recommended.

We had heard about Ebis from a few people and finally made it there today. We arrived around 1pm and it was quiet, I'm not sure enough people know about it being open on a Sunday, but I'm sure word will spread. We both ordered breakfasts which were £3.95 each (served until 2pm) and had a great selection. Food was really nice, and we were served quickly. Our table was wonky but the waitress moved us quickly to another. The decor is a nice mix and there are old photos of the Main Street which are interesting to look at. We had a glance at the menu for evening meals and lunch and the choices looked great. I think it's a nice bit of competition for Mint and Mondo, I'm planning on trying it out again for a dinner and I'm sure I'll not be disappointed. Great addition to the Main Street.

Ate here with family and found the choice of food was great even on the kids menu. The quality of the food was great, price is good and the service from the staff was brilliant. Will definitely be back and would recommend others to give it a go.

Was taken here when visiting family, a gem In Coatbridge, as a previous reviewer said the town is a bit run down but this place is not, I gave it 4 starts purely as the chicken dish was not on the menu on the day I called, spag and meat balls were a very good second choice from the lunch menu

Was in coatbridge ,don't know area.sorry,but pretty run down on whole.needed lunch,this place looked lovely,and was!food lovely,french toast with bacon and maple syrup lovely.decor super clean ,staff friendly,great find.only 2 small suggestions for improvement.1,when serving tea and bag in cup,provide somewhere to put tea bag!slopping in saucer no use!2,hook in toilet to hang bag.unhygienic to put on floor. Otherwise,really great place,go!

This is a wee jewel in Coatbridge. The decor is lovely and it's very intimate and friendly. The staff are very friendly and the food is fresh and delicious, the prices are very good too. I will definitely be back.

This is a relatively new restaurant in Coatbridge, not to be confused with the take away next door (part of the same business)Principally Italian with the odd twist here and there (Pakora as a starter) they offer a Pre Theatre and an A la Carte menu.The food is really good and the service and ambience match the quality.Overall delighted with this find.
