I arrived on my own with my dog. You have to order inside but dogs aren’t allowed inside. It was quite busy but the waiting staff asked if I was alone and said they’d be happy to come and take my order at the table. They came quickly, took my order and brought it out really promptly. The crab sandwich was lush. I had a choice of white wine, and the Sauvignon Blanc was delicious. They were so chatty and lovely. They were happy for me to pay when I left and I’ll definitely be returning.

My family heritage lures us back to St.Abbs as often as we can. This has ,on the last few occasions ,included a lunch time stop here. Service is great & the gang are well organised to get you fed either seated inside or out. Our favourite dish is without a shadow of doubt is the Cullen Skink & three empty bowls later proved it again. On this visit ,however, crab was on the menu & I really enjoyed a Crab roll in addition. A great cafe in the heart of the village that holds so much family history for me. Pity that I live a couple of hundred miles away!

We had been on the road for six hours and thought it would be a nice stop off point to have a cuppa. Prior to stopping we had goggled cafes that allow dogs as we had our pets with us. We arrived at 3.15 to be told sorry we don't allow dogs! Also as we were heading back to the car they put up the closed sign.. I think they need to ammend the information on the website..

Rude and unfriendly service and was lacking in options for both vegans and young children. Would've been fairly easy to make one of the soups on offer vegan, but I was rudely informed they weren't even vegetarian. The only option was veggie haggis which I didn't fancy so gave it a miss and had a delicious lunch at the Border's Pottery at St Abbs instead. Much friendlier service there which makes all the difference.

Been looking forward to my CS all day and driven an hour plus. Turned up just as they were drawing food to a close to be told by a very hard faced and not pleasant person something behind the counter that food just stopped. Tried explaining we had come a long way , we were hungry and just wanted some CS and it sadly wasn’t going to let us have anything for eat. I think we spent more time discussing it then it would of taken it to have just serve us. What a shame to score this usually great cafe and staff with a terrible review because of the rudeness of one of their members of staff .

I'm sure they're very busy due to St Abbs being a spot for day trippers, but service wasn't the friendliest when we arrived just after opening--when they weren't busy at all. Food was okay but a bacon roll on a hamburger bun isn't ideal. Cakes were great however. Coffee was ok.

Just called in here with friends today after the long walk over the headland. Not madly busy. We have been here before and it’s been okay - but really not good today. Our cakes were dry and just crumbled. The rice “crispy” slice was soggy and awful. We did complain and the lady offered something else - but as all of us thought the quality of our cake was really poor we declined. No excuse for poor food standards these days. So many good cafes around. We would not recommend and will not spend our money here again. Not good enough!

The food was OK and what you would expect to pay but everything seemed so chaotic and rushed. The place was busy but not full but it seemed very much like a production line. Service was slapdash with the plate pushed across the table, rather than placed. No cutlery given, noone seemed to know what table had placed which order so it was a case of employees shouting, 'who ordered xxx'. Wish I had done more research as on the way out of the village there seemed to be nicer places.

We were able to sit outside as, despite being early Jan, it was a lovely day. We sat overlooking the side of the harbour, very picturesque! Two things make this place - 1. the staff - super friendly and lovely manner and 2. The food. What more could you want. Two of us are coeliac - no problem - chowder to die for with g/f bread on the side and a g/f panini which was tasty. Four of us visited St. Abbs on 12th September and after walking to the lighthouse and back, 4 miles in wind and light rain we were ready for some refreshment. We called into Ebb Carrs and the place was heaving, a sign of its popularity. Wd had read reviews prior to our visit so we were prepared to wait. After about 5 minutes a table became free so we sat down and ordered. The crab sandwiches and cullen skink soup sounded so nice and I was cold and hungry so I ordered both as I could not choose between them. I'm glad I did despite the calories, but felt justified after the preceding 4 mile trek. I love Cullen Skink, so tasty and a large warming bowl full appeared. St abbs itself is beautiful and picturesque, was really looking foward to visiting the little cafe especially for its renowned fresh crab sandwich. We found a free table and i entered to order. I was told NO CRAB, it was only 1.30pm.i ordered the next best thing, a prawn baguette and a prawn salad for my wife. We waited nearly half an hour for the food. On closer inspection the salad was more of an open sandwich. My wife dosnt eat bread thats why she wanted a salad. The prawn baguette was basic and poor and i am convinced they were not fresh. I picked the same each visit...bacon and black pudding sandwich. Awesome. The rest of the group tried others foods...and so did I therefore. Busy, good service, extremely fair in price.

On holiday walking around the harbour and decided to pop in for a snack. Coffee & cake. Plenty to chose from and they all looked good.Sat outside to enjoy the weather. You must watch out for the seagulls. They'll have your food if you don't watch! Nice to see they allowed dogs in the outside bit. Friendly service.

Great little cafe with a good menu, quick and friendly service and really tasty food. Just order anything fishy - crab sandwiches, mackerel pate - and you'll be happy. Couldn't be in a better place, you can eat inside or out according to the weather. Its a canny spot and great for lunch.

Fresh, honest food served with a smile in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. Lunch finishes at 3 and it closes at 5 in the summer. We ate outside in the sunshine suntrap courtyard.

Found this place completely by accident. Car Park area was a little small for all the traffic - and its a paid Car Park.

Best Ever Cullen Skink. Great choice of desserts, high class service in a brilliant location. Very friendly staff, good value. Worth a walk from Eyemouth with a scenic bus trip back.

Go here now before everyone else figures out what amazing value this place is! The drive through the Scottish countryside is stunning (a half-hour drive from the railway stop at Galashiels). The owners have created something special that I simultaneously want to keep to myself and share with the world. Oxana's hosting (and baking and wine-pairing) skills mean you are welcomed with friendly service, clear explanations of the wine pairings and amazing, sweet treats. We have been twice - once in September and once in November - and from beginning to end, our glasses were never empty, and we were treated to amazing service. Now, the food is really something to talk about. Bryn is doing something special here. The food is fresh and innovative while remaining down to earth and approachable. A simple parsnip soup sent our table to heaven with its perfect spice. We had pork belly with the crunchiest crackling and lentils with vegetables that were flavoured so beautifully I couldn't tell what was in them. Blue cheese with truffled honey had all of us begging for more. Every bite is a delight, and some of it was items I wouldn't normally order. This food, this place, is truly something special, reflecting our Borders community and some of the best food in Scotland. Go now!

Stopped in for some lunch today. Friendly service with a good and varied choice of menu. Offers half portions of meals if more suitable. Brilliant value. Hot and cold options available. Felt like the teapot was bottomless, think it was 3 cupfuls in total!

Wonderful food and so nicely presented and the young man serving was so polite and professional. Only negative was the disappointing vegetarian options for my sister. Macaroni cheese is more suited to a cafe menu. But a lovely evening none the less.

Got to say, I’ve never had a bad meal or experience in here. The ham hock and lentil soup as amazing, the steak and mushroom pie was outstanding. It was packed with lean steak in a lush, beefy broth type gravy. Great fies, a la dente peas and everything was piping hot and cooked to order. Even the plates were warm, which I always appreciate. The staff were great and the owner is a real friendly guy. If yer heading North or South on the A68, make sure this is yer pit stop, even for a coffee and cake. Made me smile today whilst I was eating, it was that good. It looks like a greasy spoon if you pass it on the road, but it’s not! It’s on a par with very good pub grub, and it’s really clean inside, as is the kitchen which I passed on the way to use the bathroom.
