Last Saturday I came here for my birthday meal.... I was 44 years old.. The Indian food was amazing I had the goat curry and lamb chops.... Wife had tarka Dahl... One of the best Indian restaurants meals .. The service from start to finish was good.... From the waiters and the manager came to me as well....

What a rude manager. I made my allergy clear to the person who served me who rather than discuss looked over his shoulder to see whatever else was happening. When I challenged him on this he was rude, his manager came over and told me to leave his premises as I stated that I felt he and his staff were not allergy aware and needed to get the training urgently so that people like myself who have a severe allergy can confidently order and partake of their food not wonder what might be in it. Went over to the restaurant across the road. What a great experience, they knew exactly what their dishes contained and the food was great, will certainly come again!!!!

What a disappointment, arrived and was shown to our table, before we sat down was grunted at and asked poppadoms? To which we replied yes please....grunted at for our drinks....then a member of staff arrived a minute later and just said " what do you want" we hadn't had a minute to look....no table cloths, food and mess all over the floor!!!! Food mediocre... overall a disappointing visit, will try elsewhere....come on it's not a massive restaurant, felt like a cafe with no attention to customers, a real shame.

Great service, exceptionally fresh and tasty vegetables. Stunning goat dish. We are used to superb Indian food in West London but this was revelation.

The food was average. Chose from the chef’s recommendation and it was ok. Not as special as tasty as I was expecting. Service was fairly good however being interrupted to pick up unused cutlery and reaching across us was frustrating. Maybe I’m a traditionalist but you should reach over someone’s food whilst serving, especially without asking. The food was freshly cooked, Onion Bhaji’s and Poppadoms were very nice. Chicken Shashlik was on the dry side and not especially tasty. One meal came with Coriander even though it was requested without. The most frustrating part is the inclusion of a service charge, without letting us know beforehand. In my mind a service charge/tip should be given if deserved, not expected. I would estimate that it was 10% of our food bill. To be honest I won’t be returning.

Super tasty food and great service. Everything we ordered was excellent and a very nice experience. Great evening with family and a great atmosphere.

Love coming to Eastern eye. The atmosphere, the friendly staff and excellent service. I usually order the same thing every time I come but this time I went for something different. The lamb chops starter was amazing so tender and flavours was wow 👌 and for main had queen sultan duck which again not my usual but this did not disappoint. Definitely recommend this place 👍

Never again.. a latex glove cooked in my naan bread. Sickening, unacceptable and god knows what else is going on. Clearly not fit to be a restaurant. Worse experience ever. And absolutely no apologies only “never seen that before”

I've revisited the Eastern Eye and I must say the food, service and ambience is just how I remembered it, if not even better. Great tasty and delicious food with a lovely atmosphere and service. Great to see a few familiar faces from my last visit. Can't wait to visit again.

From the service to the food it was an exceptional dining experience. Thank you to the waiter (couldn't remember his name sorry) for making us feel welcomed when we walked in. My daughter has few food allergies the waiter was able to explain to us what each dish contained so thank you for putting us at ease. The food was absolutely delicious and I would recommend this place. I will be visiting again to try other items on the menu. We didn't wait to long for our food. I don't usually leave reviews but on this occasion I just had to.

Eastern eye exceeded my expectations! I visited there on monday. The cozy ambiance, attentive service, and outstanding food made for an unforgettable dining experience. The "Goat Special" was a standout—beautifully presented and full of flavor. I'll definitely be back! Highly recommend this gem.

Went for my birthday meal and the food was superb. The spicy duck was as good as I have had (and i eat at a lot of Indian restaurants). The vegetarian food for the wife was lovely and she really enjoyed the paneer.

An Indian with a twist, not your standard menu as the range of duck dishes testify. Ginger naan is actually in the menu, I didn't have to ask for it as a special. Great place, friendly staff and was worth the repeat visit tonight

Welcomed by a surly youth who didn't make eye contact or speak to us. The attitude of the two servers was awful. And very off putting. Husbands tikka mixed platter was lovely but my king prawns had a metallic taste and I wouldn't eat them. After we paid the bill we had to show ourselves out. Good customer service, a welcome and an Interest in how your food is costs absolutely nothing. We will not be back. It used to be like a home from home. Not now.

What a fab dining experience, from the moment we walked in we were made very welcome. Service was excellent, food of the highest quality and at very good prices. Probably one of the best indian restaurants we have visited and we are brummies brought up on the balti triangle in Birmingham.special mention to Iqbal the manager what a lovely helpful guy ,we complimented the chef and had the pleasure of meeting Naz in his kitchen which was spotlessly clean . Highly recommend this restaurant we will definitely return this is a must if your visiting Lichfield.

Not a very warm place as in the Staff

My husband & I spotted this restaurant whilst staying in Lichfield. So a quick look at the reviews & it sounded promising. From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent. There were other groups of diners enjoying themselves. The delicious smells made our mouths water. 🤤 The food was amazing, a great choice. Both mine & my husband's meals had succulent meats with deep intense flavours. Scrum! I loved Lichfield & this restaurant is one of the reasons why. Quality food & customer service. 🌟

Fantastic service! Our server, Nozrvl, was wonderful. We were a bit stumped on what to get, but he was really helpful in giving us suggestions to match our personal tastes. The food was incredible, and the portion size was big enough that we had leftovers to take home. We didn't have to wait long at all to eat either. It was a very positive experience and we will definitely be returning!

Nice food fair price don't agree with putting on a service charge as standard

BEWARE !! My colleague and I visited this establishment for an evening meal as the restaurant appeared to be clean and reasonably priced. We both identified a main course banquet that consisted of a variety of curry’s as well as naan bread and rice each. The price was £25 per person. However when the food was brought to the table the variety and volume was nothing like what was advertised. We had to share everything brought out ie 1 persons banquet meal deal. Upon querying this with the waiter he seemed to agree with me but couldn’t explain the reasons why. The manager has then arrived (seemed annoyed, stressed and short that I questioned the amount given not reflecting what is promised on the menu). To my surprise he then tried to bribe us with an extra naan to share. I then confirmed that the small amount infront of us was a total of £50 , to which he agreed. The manager then proceeded to whisper to us that the cost of cooking is now expensive in the UK so they now cut back on everything. I have then stated that that’s not what is advertised on any menu or flyer for the restaurant. The manager then looked at me and then walked away. The young waiters were rude and then ignored us after this. Couldn’t get rid of us quick enough when paying. All in all the food was as tasty and hot but this is a classic case or false advertising with a small portion of food each. DON’T BE FOOLED !

This was my first visit to Eastern Eye as I was in Lichfield with my parents as we were going to watch a show at The Garrick Theatre. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly gentleman and shown to our table. The food arrived quickly and tasted lovely. The lady attendant was very polite and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. If ever we are in the area again, we will definitely return.

The food was very good. The prices appeared reasonable at first glance, but after the inclusion of side orders, having to pay £1 for each individual poppadom, plus the extra charge for the dips to go with said poppadoms, followed by mandatory tip it wasn't very good value after all.

Amazing food and service from the staff. Didn’t need to use the menu :) just tell the staff what you like and they will prepare a special. Highly recommend

First time visiting this restaurant as we were in the area for the Garrick Theatre. Very friendly and polite staff who couldn't do enough for you. Great food and good portion size. If I'm back in the area I would definitely return.

Been here on several occasions now when staying in Lichfield and have always had great food and great service. Originally tried eating here as wanted to try something a bit different and they had a 'Goat Special'. Needless to say been returning ever since, went for the 'Masala Fish' today which was excellent. Would recommend this place for those who like to have the option to try something a little different.

I've been going to this terrific restaurant for 30 years. It's always excellent. Our Valentine's Day treat today was a joy. We will be back soonest. Highly recommend for dine in or takeaway.

We ordered food at 7.40pm it came at 9.05pm!! Considering we were very hungry by now, the food actually was not tasty AT ALL!!! The raita was just plain yoghurt. Over all very disappointed.

It was so busy but food and service was fantastic four of us dined in each having a different meal that we all thoroughly enjoyed, best tasting curry myself and husband have had in a while. We will definitely go again and would recommend.

Came with my wife and other family members to celebrate a birthday. It was mid-week so fairly quiet but still a friendly welcoming atmosphere. My wife and i had a Chicken Tikka Balti which had just the right amount of 'heat' and spices and a good amount of chicken.

Wow... as natives of bham we've been spoilt for choice for years from Selly Oak to lozells and beyond.. having recently moved to lichfield and being fond of the food scene we decided to try Eastern Eye as a few folk had recommended it. We were not disappointed. My goat special was so tender and complimented with an array of herbs and spices that tantalised the taste buds. My partners chkn special was also divine. Big shout to all the staff who are attentive yet not invasive and "uncle" who's a fantastic host. A real gem on a city full of dining excellence. Cannot recommend enough. Cheers for a great night guys.

Back to Litchfield after 6 years, and we went back to this familiar spot. It still has great food, great value, and friendly service. Thanks especially to Nahid and Ash for looking after us so well. An evening well spent.

Firstly, I have to say, the food was amazing. All five of us that went enjoyed the food. However, service was slow... and it only Monday (only two other parties in there) And also, Pricey!!!! 2 poppadoms, starter, main, naan bread and 2 pints of beer worked out to £46 each. Normally pay £30 ish at another Indian Restaurant in the city centre. But if you have a fat wallet, this is for you.

This is the best Indian food I’ve experienced. We are regular visitors and never fail to take any guests for a meal at Eastern Eye. And, all our friends rave about their culinary experience with us for months afterwards. We have been sampling Abdul’s special dishes and they are truly delicious. Fridays and Saturdays are popular so worth making a booking - don’t risk disappointment.

We are delighted with the takeaways that we have received from The Eastern Eye in Lichfield. Not only is the food that Abdul has prepared delicious, but it is also authentic! The profesional staff make you feel valued and I am looking forward to bringing my international family to the restaurant when they visit us soon.

Enjoyed an early evening meal with family. Do not get to Lichfield very often but we always eat at the Eastern Eye when we are in town. The food is primarily what we go for but the welcome and service are always first class.

This was a meet up with family. None of us had been there before. The service was excellent. Friendly efficient. The food was superb the best Indian cuisine I've had. Totally recommend it The beer I got was excellent. Just to clarify the 4 stars Guinness is not Bitter

Really bad customer service . The food was stale and i ended up with food posioning .Manager was racist and didnt even offer a refund do not recommend this place , very disgusting hospitality .

This is an absolutely amazing restaurant, perhaps one of the best curries I've ever eaten. We were a party of seven and they hosted us brilliantly. I had the Chicken Choyla for an appetiser. Portion size was spot on and it was bursting with flavour. Others with me had the Crispy Chicken and the Sheekh Kebab, and they were equally sensational. I had the Lamb Handi as a main. The lamb was so tender and marinaded and cooked to perfection. A range of dishes were ordered and everyone had nothing but good things to say, with the Chicken Apricot Kubana and Chicken Keshabpuri as additional highlights. The Butter Chicken was raved about also. The breads and rice's matched the quality of the mains. Nans were fluffy and fresh. Chapatis were that good mix of chewy and flavoursome. Portion sizes were spot on and there was a generous amount of meat in each dish, something than can be something of an issue elsewhere. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Had a peek into the immaculate kitchen and was greeted with smiles. Treat yourself and go. You won't regret it.

Delicious food. Each and every one of them. The manager - Abdul, served us and he adjusted my curry because I wanted it to be with tomatoes. That was very kind. I loved this gesture. Definitely visit this place when you are In Lichfield 👍

Nice enough but overpriced and a sneaky 7.5% service charge that appeared on our receipt. Nothing wrong with service per se but there wasn’t much of it but I/ we don’t appreciate topping up our bill with something that in the U.K. forms part of the normal bill. They do the practice in the USA because they don’t pay their waiting staff a fair wage.

They did pop food for the Bower. Had Bhajis and Samosas. The Bhajis were the worst ones I have ever tasted. Rock hard and burnt. Told the person serving that they were inedible and they just took them from us and said ok! If this is how the restaurant is, give it a wide berth.

It's been a while since we decided to have a curry. The Eastern Eye has always been our go to restaurant in Lichfield as you are always welcomed there like old friends and the food is outstanding. Tonight was no exception. Raz served us and was fabulous, very welcoming, said from the outset that food may take a little longer than usual as there were a lot of customers. (Certainly was for a Tuesday night). However, service was efficient and not served relatively quickly. Quality of food was wonderful,tender, perfectly cooked chicken, very tasty. We had some complimentary ice-cream, nice touch. Outstanding service all-round. Great menu, good prices, 7.5% service charge included. I personally thought that was too low but understand the reasoning behind it.(left additional 10% in cash, which was appreciated and Raz told me that it would be put in the tip jar for all the staff 👍. Abdul, your staff did a wonderful job.

We ordered a take away , I can really rate the paneer and spinach , also the king prawn Byriani . My son had the chicken tikka which was very tomato based and only had 5 pieces of chicken in , the rest was sauce .

Very good and above all authentic Indian food. The naan bread was very good, the various chicken dishes were very good and had a great taste. We ordered the food to take away, it was all well packaged and was warm when we got home. I can absolutely recommend it

Wow, I originally was going to Zaytoun Spice for my takeaway but with 4 mains and sides they only would give me 1 x onion salad so I decided to go else where and chose Eastern Eye, however, after ordering £78 worth of mains and sides it was agreed they would include 4 onion salads which for me was important to have with our meal, (Eatern Eye could have said no), Unfortunately the takeaway arrived very late and with only one onion salad and garlic naan bread missing, I confronted the delivery driver and explained what was missing and the driver said there was 4 onion salads put in one bag (I can tell you it was a normal side for one person not 4), the delivery driver argued he was just the driver then and yet he then said he was the boss and also I didn’t get a receipt because the driver AKA boss didn’t also bring the card machine that they said they would instead of paying it over the phone yet when the delivery driver turned up he had no machine and I still had to pay over the phone. Overall I was not impressed and very disappointed and made that very clear to the delivery driver/cook/Boss/accountant and customer service Agent. Will not use again! Cheap skates!

I use this place a lot. Took my daughter and son in law there for their 2nd time. They said best meal dining out they have both had for years. Well done Eastern Eye, you've done it again. Service brill,food brill.

First time I have been to the Eastern Eye for a meal … lovely food, great service and good value … would highly recommend the special dishes (my partner is currently working his way through the menu!) and the onion bhaji’s are to die for! You wont be disappointed so give them a try … the lads working there are running around and nothing is too much trouble for you! Great experience

Having just moved from Birmingham we were obviously spoilt for choice on Indian restaurants and takeaway. Looking at the area and ratings Eastern Eye seemed a good choice. Frankly, it is probably the worst take away we have had in years. Breads were cold and curries pretty much sauces with little meat made up with onions. Probably better to pay for a cab from Birmingham... At least it's edible even though you have to re heat.. if that's the best of Lichfield you need to get out a bit.

Wow.....the best curry we have ever had. Better than any other in Lichfield and Sutton coldfield....great service from the moment you walk through the door. Food is top notch. You won't be disappointed.

Great service but food was good not amazing.

A very enjoyable meal and some great service. The place was busy but we were served quickly, the menu had dishes on I'd not seen before and it was cooked very nicely indeed. I'd recommend this place for you to go and enjoy some good quality food at reasonable prices.

Unfortunately the restaurant had too many bookings so it was an unpleasant over busy restaurant. The tables are so close together there is barely space to get by. The food is more expensive than other locals curry houses that I have been too and the depth of flavour was lacking. The staff were obviously working very hard, but them rushing so much didn’t lead to quality service. We were charged 5% service charge for this rushed, sloppy service.
