Great night! Wonderful reminiscing and singing along. Up dancing and being transported back almost 40 years. Such fun! Would definitely go again.

We were at the Easterbrook Hall for People hav tae know, which was the Still Game cast on stage. It was disappointing, we had initially booked front row balcony seats to be emailed and moved back a row. We were told due to cables, however on arrival there were no cables and people then moved and sat in front of us. There was no Easterbrook staff on the balcony, people were vaping and there was a strong smell of cannabis. The sound quality was awful and both myself and my husband struggled to make out what was being said on stage. Disappointing venue -won’t be back.

The meal was very good as were the drinks. A Thai Green Curry at £9.95 and a Baked Jacket Potato including two fillings at £6.50 is a good price and the food was cooked well. A pint of Peroni was £4.50 and large white wine was £7.50, which is pretty standard, albeit the wine was a little dearer than average. Might have been a more expensive wine? The downside on the day was that staff were eating their lunches in view behind the counter, whilst serving food. Not a good look and contrary to food Hygiene standards. Hopefully Management will address this point and make arrangements for staff to eat during their breaks?

Set out in beautiful surroundings, on the outskirts of Dumfries with a good selection of drinks and choice of menu. Cater for different dietary needs. Excellent for meetings since tables are well spaced away from each other.

Whilst trying to get to swimming we found it almost impossible to get to the disabled parking bays at the front of the building due to a parked car possibly attending the wedding showcase this morning. The car was parked diagonally across the road blocking access to the disabled parking bays.

We arrived here one sunny evening and after admiring the surroundings we entered the beautiful building, The bistro is decorated with artistic photos and pictures of the area. The menu tends to the modern. I had sea bream on broken(?) potatoes with accompanying vegetables, followed by waffle and ice cream. My companion had soup, a chicken dish with strangely shaped potato chips and followed by gateau. The attention of staff was of a high standard. A car is necessary to reach the bistro though I assume it would be easy to reach it by bus during the day.

Came to eat here while staying at the nearby Holiday Inn Express. Situated in the beautiful grounds of the University, near the stunning Crichton Church. Nice place and good choice of food at reasonable prices. Only cook playing was the length of time it took for my main course, chilli, to come. Think they forgot!

Our son had his wedding reception here on a very hot Sunday, all the staff were very helpful and efficient, there were plenty of fans to keep everyone cool. The hall we were in was decorated beautifully, the food was lovely and served in good time, the wedding cordinator made the day flow perfectly, I would definitely recommend Easterbrooke for a special occasion.

I visited Easterbrook Hall to watch an amazing afternoon performance by Red Hot Chilli Pipers. Fantastic venue for larger events with a good parking area, disabled parking right next to the door. Staff were friendly and helpful The event was amazing well organised, and well worth a visit when the Red Hot Chilli Pipers return next year. Keep an eye on what events they have coming up. Only 33miles from Carlisle so easy to get too.

disappointing night- le snowball- zero effort cabaret that was a rehash of last years, over dependant on its coordinator, Times changed so instead of 7 for 730, meal became 730 for 8 Young waiting staff all looked stressed and pushed for time They are selling a concept but the reality falls way short

Set facing the huge church, surrounded by very fine gardens and across from the holiday Inn hotel. Plenty of parking available. Built in 1930's style in mid May weddings and large events followed one another. This is not a restaurant as such it is a venue Hall which we were shown round.

The venue itself is what you would expect of a large venue that holds big events & caters for many. Bathrooms were immaculate which is always top marks. Staff pleasant & polite, not intrusive & did great job. The bar prices were similar to many other places - approx. £17-20 for bottle of wine & £4-5 for spirit & mixer. Would not be at all impressed if any higher, think this is top for what this venue could ask. As always, lower would be better but being realistic. Food - not the worst or terrible, but definitely not the best. All had soup to start, ok. Chicken stuffed with haggis & wrapped with bacon for main, again ok & would suggest a little on the dry side. Desert was cherry cheese cake - not nice. This has brought score from 4-3. Nice enough venue for a large function. Different, special or out of this world - not winning any awards.

I have reviewed this Restaurant as part of the Galloway Arms Hotel, so this will hopefully clarify the earlier reviews. We have been on a number of occasions since the last review and we have not been disappointed with the food at the Nine Mile Bar & Bistro within The Galloway Arms Hotel. On this visit we chose two times Two Course Specials priced at £14.50 each. The Starters were battered Chicken Goujons, which was quite a large portion and Tempura coated Prawns. Both dishes were very good and the Chicken alone would have been enough for my Wife as a main course. (Small Eater). My Wife had the Beef Stroganoff and I had the Salmon in Dill sauce for the main courses. Normally, we tend to have just the main courses and therefore we had to take home the chips, which were provided along with the Stroganoff half & half. A pint of Moretti is £3.50 and a large Chardonnay is £5.00 and the total bill without tip came to £37.50. The surroundings in the Hotel's main bar is simple, but cozy. A 10 minute drive from Dumfries gets you to this Hotel and I think that it is worth this very small effort.More

Excellent service with you ordering everything from your table which is very convenient. Good choice of food although children’s menu could be better and there were no pizzas which dissapointed our youngest grandchild. We all enjoyed what we ordered and look forward to calling again soon.

The steak tasted boiled not fried and the onions were sparse and undercooked. This was not a good steak baguette. Nice service though in good surroundings.

Stayed at the Black Bull as a stop off coming down from Skye. The room was perfect for our family of four with bunk beds and toys for the little ones and a very thoughtful dog tray with bowls, blankets and even some food. It was perfect after a long day of driving. We will definitely be making it our go to place to stay whenever we are in the area.
