East Street By Tampopo in Trafford

If you like instant noodles, you know the supermarket own brand that costs 20p - and on top of this, you let them cool and congeal before you eat them, then this is possibly the place for you. If you would go one further and happily pay £6.95 (£9.20 inc warm drink from fridge) for the privilege, then this is definitely the place for you. The over-priced handful of gluey noodles, four slices of spring onion, a beansprout, and five oily knuckles of tofu was randomly named 'Tofu Pad Thai'. That's like calling a chicken nugged dumped in a plastic portion of ketchup 'Coq au vin.'I would rather have eaten my mask. Did I complain? I considered it. I'd already been back to swap my warm cold drink for another cold drink. I foolishly, stupidly ate it.No. It looked blurgh and it tasted of 'I told you so'.

Really disappointed with the flavours of the Singapore Chicken noodles. Assumed it would be packed full of flavour, but the food was extremely bland. Personally wouldn’t visit again!

The server(olivia) was very friendly took my order as soon as she saw me. Received my food not even 30 seconds after i ordered it. food was delicious as always, overall great experience would definitely recommend.

I always have their Cicken Nasi Goreng when I visit the Traffod Centre. My absolute favourite dish from East Street. Very tasty, filling and good price.

My Wife and I went Saturday evening, absolutely brilliant food. We both sadly have reactions to eating out and finding somewhere that agrees with us and is enjoyable has become increasingly difficult.East Street kiosk however was fantastic, Chicken Chow Mein and Chicken Pad Tai were brilliant, the flavours were incredible and very well presented and the portions were just the right size.We’ve had similar meals in the Trafford Centre restaurants and the prices have always been over £40.00 and not tasted anything as good as this. We paid £13 for two meals and even got a bottle of coke with that too!Definitely be visiting again and can absolutely recommend.

Olivia served me quickly and with a smile. When I said I didn't want a large portion, she suggested the childrens meal. I asked to swap rice for noodles and it was no problem. Delicious meal! Will be back, thank you!

As a vegan, i was really pleased that a young lady (Think Olivia) was there as she explained the dishes to me really well. I had been to Tampopo before but not here. Will definitly be back. Olivia's knowledge was great!!

2nd time trying this place, really disappointed as I usually love any Asian food! Overly salted but not really any flavour.

Had the singapore noodles they were amazing lots of flavour i definately reccomend. Quick service and polite staff.

went here whilst at Trafford centre in Manchester. This is situated near the crap Shere Khan, ordered Singapore noodles with tofu, vegetarian spring rolls and loaded fries with a Coke bottle. All set me back about £15. The Singapore noodles were ok tasted strange. The spring rolls were very good with the accompanying sauce also the loaded fries which were suitable for vegans were excellent. The only problem is this place is a bit expensive the fries were about £4. The vegetarian chinese spring rolls £3.

I was served by a lovely young lady called Rea, the food she had recommended to me was amazing, and the service was even better :) the price was very good for the quality of the food, will definitely be back

Popped in for a meal while shopping . Sad to see average standard Asian food so expensive . Don't buy a lemonade or beer it is so pricey . In Asia people eat out all day every day . Who wants to eat this stuff all the time in the Trafford Centre ?Who could afford this more than once a week ? Not good Asian food . I expected more of Manchester .

We had a lovely time at Tampopo. The food was lovely and service was great. Rachael was very friendly and kind ! It's nice to be served by friendly staff :) We hope to come again very soon!

My friend and I stopped here for a quick snack while shopping: she’s a vegan and found the menu a little confusing. Items that contained fish were marked with a ‘V’ while others with no mention of meat, fish, dairy etc. had no such indication, so perhaps this should be looked at.

Ordered Chicken Katsu Curry - Chicken was pink. Had to request a refund! My friends was also the same!

The food from East Street is great and is also affordable. Kay is a very friendly and kind employee and made for a good experience with East Street.

Delicious Eastern curries with rice and noodles. Amazing service with a smile. Highly recommend. One is spoilt for choice at the Trafford Centre. If in doubt, go to Tampopo - you can't go wrong.

I eat here regularly and the service is quick and the food is very tasty. Luke served me today and when I mentioned I’d not tried a couple of dishes he offered me some taster pots to sample which I thought were great and will definitely try next time! Top service

We were in a rush, our order came quickly and it was pretty tasty considering it was fast food. It came in cute little bowls and we asked for some lids so we could take half of it away.

First time here and the service was fantastic and really quick. Our order was taken by Rachel who was so nice and bubbly, made conversation with us and was very friendly. We all enjoyed our food, i had the chicken pad thai which was really yummy and the korean wings. I also tried the food my family got which was chicken satay with nasi fried rice, chicken chow mein and nasi goreng. The spring rolls were nice too. I would recommend all the food we had and the portion size seems small but it was really filling.

Came here yesterday for the first time, ordered something very simple sweet and sour chicken, got served in about 5seconds with our food, the flavour was nothing like sweet n sour more like mango and lime, very weird food!.! Will not be going back

I ordered a Thai Green Curry. I didn't know what was in it so I asked a lady who works there (I think I caught her name as Meho) who explained what was in it and gave me a sample. I was concerned because I don't like fish so did not know if I would like the fish sauce base of the dish but it was lovely. The bowl looked quite small but the amount of curry and rice crammed into it was really filling and I struggled to finish it all but the delicious taste pushed me to wolf it down. I might try the Red Curry next time but whatever I will surely visit here again. :D

I have just returned from the Trafford Centre after having a disappointingly bad Pad Thai (with chicken) from this kiosk. When I saw the board “by Tampopo” I felt quite reassured that I would have a good bite. My last Pad Thai at Tampopo Manchester was very good...

Thai curry noodles is my favourite, arrived very quickly, but was Luke warm & Noodles were soggy, it was as if the bowl had been sat there for some time. Have eaten here several times, Tampopo is my favourite restaurant and food is usually great, but, this time it was awful. We were going cinema so wanted to eat quickly. Won’t go again. Extremely disappointed and a waste of money

Amazing food as usual from Tampopo. We would usually opt for the restaurant however as we were in a rush we tried here instead. I always get the Thai curry noodles and they were just as good, if not better, than the restaurant.

I tried East Street a few times on my lunch breaks. And found a vegetarian option. But one of my visits (and last) I ordered a vegan chow mein and a side of roti.

Chicken chow mein for a quick lunch fix after weighing up all the alternative junk food shops. Picked the healthiest option and it was just ok, as expected. No better than my local Chinese chippy.

Visited here last night. Spent nearly £17 on two meals. The chicken was pink and my partners meal was full of storks from pak choi. Over all both meals were inedible and even if they had been, not worth the money as the portions were small for the price. Awful! Definitely won't be visiting here again. Only have this one star because I had to.

For some reason I can't pick up the restaurant in Piccadilly Gardens.... how disappointing! It took over Rice Bowl which I frequented for 10 years! It used to serve huge lumps of fresh chicken..... beansprouts, mange tout, mushrooms and broccoli! Nothing of which we got tonight since it's been taken over! Hardly any sauce which used to be rich and thick..... I hadn't eaten all day so looking forward to the new arrival of which I had 4 pieces of chicken.... no veg, OMG dry! Loads of rice and lots of curry leaves see picture! Won't be returning!

Ordered pad thai to get raw spring onions on top of plain noodles. No other vegetables no seasoning. Just plain! Such a rip off.

We picked up a Pad Tai for lunch and it was one of the nicest I’ve had, very authentic, on par with Wagamama’s and half the price. Would definitely visit again.

Me and my family came here to eat at the Trafford Centre. At TC there is so much option but I am very glad that we chose East Street. Due to the fact that we came on a Wednesday there wasn’t a queue for the food. It took a bit of time for the food to come but when it did it was delicious. It was exactly the type of different food that me and my family wanted to eat. Personally I recommend that if you go there you should order the chicken skewers with nasi rice as it tasted out of this world. Would recommend to everyone and I expect that I will go back there.

I'm a very fussy eater - I don't tend to go for anything I've never had before but today I took a dive and ordered myself the Chicken Katsu Curry with boiled rice - and it was the most sublime thing I have ever tasted. I will definitely be returning here whenever I'm at the Trafford Centre! The rice was perfectly cooked, the chicken was delicious and the sauce was to die for! I also loved the addition of the 'training' chopsticks as I have absolutely no clue how to use regular chopsticks! Thankyou for a delicious meal guys :) xx

Just before visiting the Odean to see Solo a star wars story we decided to get some fast food so we tried East- Street

Good quality tasty food so much better than any other fast foods at a reasonable price. Good fast service.

Had fantastic service today! The card machine went down and the woman serving was great. She didn't lose her calm at the massive queue and worked with the manager to sort the problem! Had a lovely pad Thai with chicken and some amazing prawn crackers.... Only downside was not enough chilli sauce (but I like a lot) thanks guys

Ordered the chicken satay with Nasi fried rice, good portion and reasonably priced. My daughter finished the whole pack of the prawn crackers as well.

A great and fast alternative to Thai cuisine. Service was great, and love the kids meals. Some things are pricey but otherwise okay. A good veggie/tofu option too.

I always eat from here when visiting the Trafford Centre. The food is delicious! The staff are always friendly. Food is freshly made and tastes amazing. I always have the sweet & sour chicken with rice and spring rolls as a side. Fast service, great food & free chopsticks!! It's a little pricey but worth it. Ignore all the bland fast food outlets and come to this one!!!

I dine here last week and enjoyed the friendly service given by Staff Daisy.She was very professional and seems to be enjoying her job although it looks busy that day.

I had the Singapore Noddles with Chicken. It was served quickly and tasked great. A good change from the regular McDonalds and the normal food in shopping centers.

Mi sono avvicinato ad East Street perché era uno di quelli con meno fila e provare nuove cucine non mi spaventa. La ragazza alla cassa è stata squisitamente dolce e cortese, nonostante il mio inglese non perfetto, e ci ha tenuto a darmi la Loyalty Card. Non ho aspettato più di 3 minuti per la mia porzione di riso fritto e spiedini di pollo e curry chips. Il cibo era davvero buono e mi ha riempito. Il prezzo ottimo.

This counter is located at ground level. We have decided to try something new for dinner. Although we're happy with the food choice, however we find it too salty. The girl who served us is very friendly and pleasant.

Excellent food at a great price and despite how busy it was we had our food inside five minutes, way better than your average subway and not to much more price wise.

I came in at the start of the week, I am an area manager of a retail unit in the Trafford Centre and I wanted to try something different for lunch, grabbing food from Mcdonalds or Subway can get repeative and you can get them anywhere. I spotted East Street between Subway and Mcdoanlds, and thought I would give it a go, the food was absolutly fantastic, and what made it better was the service I recieved from a very energetic and happy employee, his knowledge of the food and suggestions was spot on in helping me choose my lunch and even suggest a side that would compliement my meal, which it really did (wasn't going to say no as I was claiming back on expenses). Not only that but gave me a loyalty card to get free food in the future and as he asked really nicely for feedback on here, I put it on my list and have done it now. So well done to Mike the server for his help, but also to the chefs for making delicious food and offering something different to try rather then the same chain restauarants you get every where!

Ordered the katsu fried chicken and rice, and it was absolutely delicious, service was really great and friendly and the cooking time was excellent, always a bonus when 2 meals and 2 drinks cost less than £20 all well

Just what we needed. Visited Trafford Centre for Boxing Day shopping and the service was quick and friendly. Food was incredible! We will definitely go back on every visit to the TC.

Decided to get something to eat while in the Trafford centre and found east street in the orient food court. I really like southeast asian food so was happy to find some here. We went for the thai curry noodles and katsu fried chicken with some of the japanese sticky wings on the side. We were served by a lady with reddish/purple hair, she was very knowledgeable and friendly, and the service felt natural rather than robotic and rushed, like KFC or Burger King. The food was so tasty, the wings were addictive! Could of had a bucket of them. Would definitely be coming back whenever in the Trafford centre.

Absolutely fantastic, great informed advice on their menu and also love the food. One of my favourites is the katsu curry (yes its chicken thigh but its lovely dark coloured meat with excellent texture and taste!) Well done guys!! A++++

As a coeliac i like finding places that offer gluten free options. When I asked the server Imogen, she was very helpful in pointing out which dishes were suitable for me despite the queue behind. Imogen along with another staff member who served my food Meeho, we're friendly , helpful and made my short experience enjoyable. I would definitely recommend. Thankyou

I visited the Trafford Centre with my husband last Saturday, after a busy shop we found the Tampopo Restuarant inundated so chose to get a take away dish from East Street. I have to say for a busy day, the staff were most pleasant and it is a joy to find staff working as a team. We were served as quickly as possible by a lady named Miho who along with another lady - Imogen (I think - tried as best as possible to note names), was informative on the dishes and between them gave excellent service. A credit to their Company and to the Trafford Centre. All too often you receive lack lustre service from people not enjoying their jobs - not in this case. I rarely leave comments but these two and East Street stood out on this visit. Food was excellent and would definitely recommend and call again.

I ate at the Trafford Centre today (the takeaway) and got the Katsu chicken for me and my son.

I bought a bottle of water and Thai Noodles and it was £10.00. How stupid am I. I received tasteless water with what appear to have bee dried spices ( tasteless) and the smallest cheapest rice noodles possible. The clue was this was the only place without a queue, of you are passing keep passing. I did state that it was a rip off to the guy server who shrugged his shoulders and ignored me. Never again!!!!!!

Had great service by Reece he was friendly and efficient as I work in the Centre so sometimes getting lunch can be a nightmare, he also made sure I got my discount, not all staff ask if I work in the Centre and I’m fast becoming a regular as the food is beautiful.

i really enjoyed beef rendang which i had from these place, the food was fresh and was cooked whilst i waited, i dont mind waiting if the food served is fresh! Really friendly blonde gentleman helped me to decide which dish was suitable for my taste buds! The food was similar to what i had eaten in Malaysia!

Ate here with my 12 year old while visiting the Trafford Centre. We both had the sweet and sour chicken form the main menu. It didn't take long to get the food. We both found the food hot, and big portions. The sweet and sour sauce was very sweet. You got quite a lot of big chicken bits. But over all we enjoyed it...would eat there again but next time we would share as we had to leave some of it because it was too much. Would be nice to get a drink included in the main meals as these were extra.

If it wasn't bad enough to get a bill for £18.50 for two quick veggie food containers and one small bottle of water, what they put in the food containers was ridiculously different and annoyingly indifferent.

Last time I visited the Trafford Centre there was a real,y good street food takeaway at his location. Unfortunately is now East Street but Tampopo. Portion size was very small, food quality dreadful. I had the curried Thai noodles. A small portion of sloppy tasteless noodles in a very thin Thai soupy sauce with about four pieces of chicken. All for £8.50. I really did feel as if I had been mugged. Ingredients must have cost less than 30 pence. Do not eat here. There are other outlets providing much better quality and value. Worse takeaway experience I have had in a long while.
