I bought a crispy pork belly yesterday. I must admit that it was delicious, crunchy, and juicy🎉🎉. They did pork belly really good cause as an Asian I also try to cook crispy pork belly and it is really hard to make it. The hard part is making the skin become crunchy and juicy. So to me, East cooked crispy pork belly really nice, people should try it. Pineapple fried rice also nice. It's not overcook and smell of rice is nice. Also my recommend is spicy prawn to spicy person they cooked it nice also.

It’s my first time to try it. It has wok gas and it’s very good. Only some of the beef is a bit tough, but the overall taste is very good. I will try other ones next time.

Probably the best Chinese takeaway in Norwich. It does get really busy though so can be a long wait on the food. Saying that, I ordered last night just after 8pm and it was ready to pick up within 10 minutes! Crispy peanut chicken is definitely recommended!

Have used East for many years .I walked in yesterday and the filth stuck on top of the door from shop to kitchen still remained from last visit .I wanted to leave looking at it thinking is this the state of cooking areas also? I had chicken chew mein and the chicken was hard over cooked and not edible .The rest of the order was salt overload . This takeaway was the best ever but has either changed hands or bad cooks . I will not recommend this place ever again

After beginning university three years ago I was on the search for what would be my "go to" Chinese takeaway. East Chinese was that takeaway, having ordered from there multiple times since. In this bitter sweet moment of leaving uni and therefore Norwich , I thought I should update my review to say that East is the best Chinese I have ever been too. The service is great from ordering over the phone to the delivery process and of course I will miss many dishes including the Crispy Peanut Chicken, Crispy pork in honey sauce, and Caramel Chicken that are mostly exclusive to East. Whenever I visit Norwich again, I will not hesitate to order.

My favourite Chinese take away. You can get a plenty of variety of Chinese food here. I found that most of the dishes come with same ingredients like broccoli, carrot, bamboo shoot but they only differ in the sauce and the protein, so they taste fairly the same to me. However, they are all delicious and pretty cheap. I also do recommend the crispy aromatic duck.

Decent food. Always well packed for takeaway, can be a little wait.

Pork belly and peanut chicken is amazing

Whenever the urge to consume a succulent Chinese meal hits me, East never misses. It is only a shame that I live slightly out of their delivery range and have to persuade my sister in law or her partner to collect for me.

Been a delivery customer for years, but often don't have cash in the house so for gods sake (my sake) get on Deliveroo.... And put chicken satay on the menu, then my life is complete :)

East is very good, it’s easily the best Chinese takeaway in Norwich. The quality of the food and cooking is excellent - it’s not greasy. You do have to order really early to make sure you can get your takeaway at a decent time.

We had not ordered for a while. To be honest I'd forgotten how good the food here was. We both had House special fried rice and also ordered the crispy chilli beef .Every thing was great the food was piping hot and fresh the lovely man who took our order said we would recieve it within the hour ,and we did. The best Chinese takeaway I have eaten. The dishes were fresh and full of flavour. Not a hint of grease in any of our shared dishes. A bit more expensive than your average takeaway, but definitely worth it.

We've been waiting over 3 hours for a delivery which we made at 5.20. Its now 8pm. Been waiting over 15 mins for then to pick up the phone. I know they are busy but this is bad service. Will not be using this take out again no matter how good the food is.

Really excellent takeaway. If you're ordering for delivery at the weekend just phone at 5pm when they open and be prepared to dial a few times to get through. But it's worth it. The aubergine and mince pork and mapo tofu are always excellent. Thanks East for always bringing us pleasure with such delicious cooking!

The quality of the food is spot on. The wontons are out of this world. The spring rolls have a fantastic ratio of meat to veg. A loyalty/discount scheme that's not just for students would be nice, but you do get the quality you pay for.

Food was lovely the first time around when we ordered in store so we decided to try it again. Regret it. We waited an hour and a half and called up. Was told it was out for delivery and as I was asking if we had been charged for delivery, despite being within 3 miles and spending over £30, the lady abruptly hung up. The delivery guy turned up charged us delivery and said we will have to take it up with the store. Are they gonna send it to us by post?! Considering that and the fact our local Chinese is about £1-£2 cheaper PER ITEM, and as you can see the portions of certain items are literally half the size you’d expect. We won’t order from here again.

Overcharged by £3.60 (not a huge sun I know) and the food is very average at best. Chicken ball batter tough and tasteless, chilli & salt chicken had no crisp to it and the fried rice was bland. Have cooked tastier food at home following YouTube videos. Edible food but nowhere near worth the money and 1hr20 wait!

The worse delivery time ever, phoned three times. Over 3 hours for delivery. Thos was the second time. I love the food but their service is shocking. If you can not be honest and honour your delivery times, you do not deserve me as a costumer.

Ordered from them yesterday and my word! The food was perfect. It was hot, tasted great and very fairly priced. This is now going to be my "go-to" takeaway from this point on. Only feedback i have is the website, everything is great but the front page seems to be image based as opposed to text based, so you can't highlight the numbers on there to call them. Its only a small inconvenience but figured i'd point it out anyway.. keep up the great service!

Tried for the first time in a long while but now remember why that is. Had a special curry but anything from special, chicken over done and hard, duck very fatty and hardly any duck. Beef was ok but generally not a lot of meat in it but hard to actually tell what any of it tastes like as all I really got was a burnt spice taste and very hot compared to most Chinese curries ..chips ok and prawn crackers fine that's why it's a 2 not a 1 Will be back to using my normal China garden next time and suggest some who are saying this is great do the same as I left most of mine

As a family we've ordered from East for a long time seeing as they're our local takeaway, the food has always been to a very high standard, fresh, hot on arrival and most importantly tasty. On Saturday we ordered 8 dishes, 2 chicken balls and 2 chips but I have to say although seeing the notice on their website that their prices had gone up I didn't expect our bill to be over £70. We unfortunately won't be able to order from East anymore as this is now completely out of our budget. (I understand things go up in price but I think a few of the dishes have jumped up a little too much) We were also a little annoyed not to get any prawn crackers for the first time in years! So basically it's a very nice Chinese but on the more expensive side.

Always worth the wait! The variety of dishes and service is great. Wide range of vegan options (more range of vegetables compared to standard takeaways) and ingredients always fresh. Just make sure you don't order when you're hungry and order in advance if possible (especially weekends). Their peanut chicken is the best!

Very tasty but average portions and I didn't get any prawn crackers! Even though I spent almost £40. I would have thought that in the interests of good business they would be given free to everyone. This is why I have left only 3 stars.

Good, got the seafood ho fun, beef curry and rice. The food was good, slightly too much sauce on the seafood noodles and curry could of been hotter but that is my taste. Too much for 1 person. Very busy on Friday with constant phone calls and customers in the shop but the person who took my order was calm and helpful. Update - came back to order Choi sum, wings and char siu with rice. All very good. They were crazy busy again.

The best chinese food in Norwich , by far

Not tried this place before.. reviews looked excellent. It's one to cross off the list for me. Ordered six dishes and wasn't at all impressed with any of them. Crispy Aromatic duck wasn't even crispy.. I would like to be positive but I'm afraid that was not good..

Takes anaolutely ages to get through on the phone, only to be told to "hold the line" for up to 12 minutes before cutting the line off. Food is not as good as it used to be: some dishes are dry, burnt and certainly far too salty. Hope they invest in resources to improve customer service and food quality.

Phoned at opening time, one line engaged, the other said 5th in que. 10 minutes later it was still the same so I decided to go and order in shop. Parking is terrible and very busy but I was 17:30 on Saturday night. Ordered the food really quickly, no que at the counter and given a beeper so I could wait outside. We waited about 40 minutes before collecting our food and what can I say? The food was excellent, very tasty and good portion sizes and this is why there was such a wait but 100% worth waiting for. Highly recommended, we will be back.

Found this hidden Gem accidently and yes it is a gem of a takeaway ! . food is wow and duck is exquisite ! .Being a ex chef and find good takeaway is not easy and i wish this takeaway is in Manchester so i can visit every week !! Great food but waited over theee hours for delivery

Peanut chicken absolutely delicious. We’ll be back again! Like peanut satay used to get in the 90s! Edit: ordered again at 5.30pm New Years eve, given a window of 6-10pm. Come 10.15pm still not delivered. Ended up requesting a refund. They offered to get it to us ASAP from the delivery driver who couldn’t deliver, but at that point the food would have been out for about 25 mins and getting cold so requested a refund instead and they delivered it about 10.30pm. Just a shame as we’re knackered and without dinner on New Years. Probably won’t be back even though food last time was good.

The food was really good, it’s hard to find good Chinese in Norwich but this place is really good. Definitely recommend it.

Not even worthy of a 1* Told us the wait could be up to 1 hour 45 mins which we accepted. 2 and a quarter hours later no delivery and phone lines switched off. Managed to get through after many more attempts and about 10 minutes further wait. Said order was on its way (10 mins away) - 20 mins later and still no delivery. Just shy of 3 hours with no delivery for a 2 persons order. When I phoned back they said “we don’t even deliver to your area” but they did when they accepted the money off my credit card.
