Fantastic, freshly cooked food in a lovely, inviting pub - we had the burgers and veggie bugers and the were filling and absolutely delicious. Really friendly staff. We ate here on a very busy and crowded day for The Lanes and it felt like a real escape from all the hustle and bustle - a beautiful little oasis in the city. Highly recommended. Very dog friendly too.

After my daughter visited in November 2023, she suggested we returned as the Sunday lunch was so good. She was absolutely right, faultless Sunday lunch and the 2 ladies looking after us were lovely. The one that spoke to us about the Kooks was the epitome of what it’s lovely to experience in customer service; just great at her job.

Our 3 beef Sunday roasts were served luke warm and we had to ask them to heat them up. Service on the slow side and not that busy. Ordered the pigs in bacon as a side and although the bacon was nice and crispy the sausages seemed under cooked. Asked the waiter who said the kitchen had temperature probed them before serving and as they were the correct there was nothing they could. Disappointed customers.

We found this pub online after looking for gluten free fish and chips, so glad we went it was a lovely sized portion and delicious. We also had some lovely spritz drinks and the service was very friendly too.

We received a very warm welcome from Jess as we walked through the front door of the Earth and Stars even though unfortunately she had lost all power to the beer taps! Jess reassured us that there was bottled beers and wine available and a great choice of food She welcomed our cockerpoo Ruby providing a bowl of water almost immediately We decided on the Burger and the Caesar salad which were both very tasty and homemade Jess was very chatty and provided a great service despite the obvious stress of not having any keg beers available We would have no hesitation in recommending the Earth and Stars and will visit again when we return to Brighton

My wife and I went to Earth and Stars recently while on vacation in Brighton. Located in The Lanes area which has lot of shops and restaurants. The restaurant is nice and airy with a funky type vibe. Large bar area with good selection of beer and wine. I had fish and chips and it was choice. My wife had chickpeas dish and another tasty one. Great service and easy going vibe. Highly recommend.

Visited on a Thursday evening. Booked a table, we waited over 50 minutes for our meals which when they arrived were not great- Fish and chips and Lamb burger. Fish was over cooked and burger very salty… best bit were the truffle fries.

We had an enjoyable Sunday roast, both meat and vegetarian options were very tasty. The staff were accomodating and friendly. We also liked the atmosphere and decor. We'll definitely visit again.

Really loved our lunch on Friday at the Earth and Stars. The food was excellent, our group had the chickpea curry, fish and chips and I had the best steak ever. Would definitely return for another visit. The staff was stretched but showed good humour throughout our visit. Had a nose at the refurb post the Interior Design Master show, I loved the colours and the deco.

This pub was recommended to us, and didn’t fail. Had the obligatory fish and chips in Brighton. Nice little pub, family owned. Food was fresh and hot. Crispy batter on fish, not so sure about the mushy peas (being an aussie , wasn’t expecting that)

First time to the Earth and Stars and got to say it was excellent First class service and the food was really good Really nice atmosphere and I thought the food was not expensive for the quality Definitely will return !

Food: Sunday lunch, we chose the beef rib to share at £28 with parsnips, Yorkshire pudding, carrots, red cabbage and kale. We also had some pigs in blankets for £6 extra. The food was impeccable, loads of meat, soft and tasty, full of flavour and extra gravy. Yorkie pud was crunchy and huge. Veges were cooked to perfection, especially the red cabbage, one of my faves. Gravy was thick and properly made. Gorgeous. So why four stars? Service. It was slow and awkward. It took a while to get a seat even though I'd booked well in advance. Then it took a long while to get drinks. Food took an age to arrive, and we weren't offered salt, pepper or sauce or more drinks. Plates weren't cleared and we had to wait a while to get any attention for the bill. So, there's the one star loss. Sad, because this should be 5*. The pub is gorgeous, cosy, comfy and it has some lovely ales including the hazy pale. Brighton prices at £9 for large wine and £6 for a pint. The loos are on the ground floor, but are tiny if you're in a chair you can't get in. O could barely shut the door because I couldn't stand on one leg to shut the door... It is so tiny. I would absolutely go again though, just for the food! Yum. Step free entry. There is seating upstairs I believe so ask for downstairs seating if you're less able.

So glad that Earth & Stars is still around and doing great, locally sourced food. The food is generally always good. The staff work hard and the prices are reasonable. Sometimes the food isn't as hot as it could be when it comes out (but coming from a different floor on a cold night with staff having to squeeze between punters to get the food to you, that makes sense). The hispi cabbage is seriously amazing! The steak is great. The veg burger is outstanding. The brisket / arancini / little balls are great. I've not had the roasts but my friends say good things about them. The bar staff are friendly and work really hard. Visit. Try the food. Enjoy.

This is a pub hidden from the tourists with probably the best Sunday lunch (slow cooked beef) in years ! It’s a must if you come to Brighton. The stuff is very friendly and the wine selection great - San Giovese!

Not great. Came for Sunday roast and it was served on cold plate and was maximum luke warm if so. Portion are not big and gravy was water tastes and without any colour . Nice pub good choice of wine. Wouldn’t recommend to eat =(

Waited an hour for a tiny vegan roast, 3 halves of roast potatoes, burnt wellington , bare kale and no yorkshire. We had to get a bag of chips on the way home!

We chose The Earth & Stars as we had the dog with us and needed somewhere dog friendly. The reviews were great and they didn't disappoint. Lovely atmosphere, nice beer and a decent choice of wine. We all had the bavette steak which was cooked perfectly. The sides were great particularly the tempura veg which were nice a crispy. Overall a great meal and reasonably priced. The chef is, we were told, finding his feet. We will be back.

Top class Sunday lunch and brilliant pub. A must visit if you are in Brighton, fantastic food, great range of beers and top class service. Some Great options including superb veggi Wellington.

Had a fabulous Sunday roast here today with my family. The vegetarian options were delicious; we had the mushroom wellington which was amazing; the hazelnut, pistachio and cranberry roast which looked really good (and was gone before I got to have a taste of it!)...

It’s so hard to find a decent roast when you are gluten and dairy free but we’ve visited twice now whilst visiting Brighton and both times the roast has been amazing. Great quality produce cooked amazingly well. They even do a dairy and gluten free...

We had a Christmas party at Earth and Stars (12 people). The food was delicious and the staff were absolutely delightful. Every experience my partner and I have had at Earth and Stars has been wonderful and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Had one of the best Sunday lunches we've had for a long time. Loved my mushroom wellington and trimmings. Really lovely staff too. Can get a bit noisy. Had the tofu fish and chips time before which was really good too.

I’ve had roasts in many places and never is the meat as tasty as my lamb was or the vegetables cooked perfectly. They also cater for gluten and vegan which is hard to find - I even got dessert which is unusual as most places...

After reading reviews- booked z as family Sunday lunch. Three of us had beef, and one had vegan option. All presented well and tasty. Staff friendly.

Searching for a pub for eating gluten free food with good reviews and came across earth and stars. Due to Covid their menu is only sausage and mash. But an extensive selection. Only one gf sausage choice but mash and gravy all gf. Food and...

I had a vegan sausage and mash with mushroom sausage and beetroot mash, which was good but maybe slightly lacking in salt and overall flavour. The price is good, in particular if you consider the portion, which was huge! Friendly staff.

Arrived on a wet Saturday with my fabulous wife and sprogs and was greeted by a friendly lady behind the bar who brought our drinks over to the table, just a coke for me that day lol. We all had a main, with the kids splitting one, the chefs happily split the dish over two plates and all the dishes were bang on. Will recommend to all, it is a very nice little sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the city but still very central!

We booked a table for 4 on Saturday night and what a wonderful experience.Great starters with a shout out to the amazing chutney served with the cheese and the delicious bloody Mary sauce served with the popcorn mussels. The excellence was followed and continued by the main course – the chicken schnitzel was luscious and the mushroom carbonara was sooo good. We were so full and satisfied we couldn’t look at pudding. The staff were very welcoming and looked after us well, we look forward to visiting again. Soon.

Have come a few times for the tofu and chips which has always been a favourite with me and the hubby. (thank you for putting it back on the menu!) First time coming for a roast this Sunday but was not disapointed. I had the tart and other half had the wellington both of which were really flavourful. Came with all the trimmings and plenty of them, asked for extra gravy but the staff brought it out very quickly and were so helpful. All round lovely service and food will be returning!

I was absolutely appalled by how we were treated here. After waiting over half an hour for a table we had reserved for a Sunday lunch, rather than apologising to us for the wait, the staff were rude and dismissive. While waiting for our table for seven to be ready, we decided to choose our food. We were given conflicting information from different members of staff about which roast options were available. One member of staff told us that there were only three veggie roast portions left, which wouldn’t have been enough for us, since four of us were vegetarians. At that point, we naturally started to look into other options for lunch. When a waitress finally came over to tell us that our table was ready, we explained that we were thinking of leaving. She then had a go at us for expecting to have particular items on the menu and said that we needed to either move to our table upstairs or leave. We might have decided to choose different options on the menu, but sadly we were not encouraged to. The waitress was not apologetic in the slightest, she didn’t try to persuade us to stay; instead, she pushed us to leave.Needless to say, we chose to leave because of her rude behaviour and won't be returning!

Have been going to Earth and Stars over the years but it has really become very run down and shabby. Food not so great either. The bar staff in the afternoons, seems to be just one person, is not welcoming and there is often a large dog slobbering on the floor or pushing under the tables and legs of patrons. It certainly gets more attention than the customers. Not returning.

Fuimos aquí para la cena de Navidad con trabajo. No recibieron nuestro menú de pre-pedido, ya que fue a su carpeta de basura. no nos avisaron de esto hasta la mañana de nuestro almuerzo a la hora de Navidad. Entonces, cualquiera que pidió un asado de nueces no obtuvo lo que pidió. La comida tardó varias horas en llegar y estaba dispuesto a comer la mesa. La porción de Goose era pequeña y cuando preguntamos, explicaron que es un costoso corte de carne, ¡por eso no obtuvimos mucho a pesar de que pagamos 28 por DOS cursos! ! Los brownies eran como 3 mini que compraste en Tesco, excepto que estaban increíblemente secos y servidos con espuma. Todos nos fuimos a casa después de 2 o 3 platos y cenamos otra vez cuando nos fuimos con hambre. No es bueno para el precio. Luego se olvidaron de deducir el depósito de los pagos que hicimos.Por encima de todo, el personal de servicio parece totalmente indiferente y sin disculpas por las molestias causadas como sucede con demasiada frecuencia. No creo que ninguno de nosotros regrese.¡Muy decepcionante!

Visita familiar a Brighton para ver a la hija de la universidad. Estacionó el auto cerca de sus pasillos en Varley Park y obtuvo un boleto de un día en el autobús; Buen valor 5 cada uno.Tuve que llevar al perro también porque lo echaba mucho de menos. Uno de nuestra familia tiene enfermedad celíaca, por lo que se implementó la planificación habitual del régimen de comidas para el pub amigable con los perros y la conciencia de la contaminación cruzada sin gluten. Así que encontré esta joya gracias a TripAdvisor para el almuerzo. El menú del almuerzo se sirve hasta las 3. 00 pm.Todo el personal aquí era profesional y muy amable; aunque muy ocupados, tuvieron tiempo de escuchar y explicar el menú.Nuestro pescado y papas fritas sin gluten ciertamente se veía delicioso; ambas hijas dijeron que sabía tan bien como parecía. El marido disfrutó su cazuela de venado y me encantó mi estofado de pescado (lo siento, no puedo recordar la forma en que lo describieron, pero fue bueno). Ambos obtuvieron el bistec planchado. . . ¡increíble! Si te gusta es raro su perfección, el caramelo de ajo wow! Es muy agradable ir a un lugar completamente discreto desde el exterior, pero proporcionar una comida excelente, el personal es muy amable y tiene un ambiente hogareño. La única queja es que vinimos un miércoles, reservamos con una hora de anticipación y esperamos una hora para la comida que no esperábamos o nos dijeron. ¡Pero la comida y el servicio no pueden hacernos caer de otra cosa que no sean 5 estrellas!

Bland tasteless food with construction work going on during lunch time. Not devastatingly bad but why would I want to return when there are so many other choices in Brighton. It’s baffling to see in the current climate establishments simply not trying.

4 of us booked in for a Sunday roast this weekend, and all came away very happy. 2 had the beef and 2 the chicken. The chicken was wonderfully moist and flavourful, and came with a good range of different veg. We ordered 2 x extra roast potatoes and were presented with a 2 full bowls, so we couldn't finish it all. A friendly pub, and thumbs up all round. You'll need to book to ensure you can get in!

Came for a roast with friends I have to admit I’m not a big fan of roasts lol. I change se the roast chicken and it was delicious. Cooked to perfection, roast potatoes and veg both great. All the others were happy one had the nut roast and one the pork. Good service lovely place

Hicimos una reserva para un asado del domingo. El título lo dice todo realmente. . . . la comida era deliciosa pero esperamos más de una hora sin ninguna disculpa o explicación, con una reserva esto no era razonable en mi opinión. Además, cuando pedimos, la camarera tenía una actitud de "la computadora dice que no" y fue realmente grosera. Es una pena, ya que probablemente no volveremos por esto.

Das Pub an der ruhigen church street lädt zum verweilen ein. Das Essen ist herrvorragend (Pasta mit Artischocken, Ruccola und schwarzen Oliven ist der Hammer!) die lokalen Biersorten schmecken toll! Zu Mittag kommen viele Menschen aus dem Quartier hier essen, so dass man leicht mit Menschen aus Brighton ins Gespräch kommt!

I went to the E&S; for a get together with friends on a Thursday night, which happened to be ‘plant-free Thursday’ where the whole menu is vegan (and most of it also gluten free). Everything we ordered was delicious - special shout out to the pakora thali platter and the broccoli tempura. The staff were lovely and the wine was good - we’ll be back!

We'd booked a table for a family get together. I think the Earth and Stars is quite a nice pub in general. The room and decor are nice, the staff are generally friendly and helpful and they have a fairly good selection of drinks.

Popped in to escape the rain on the way to our guesthouse, on a flying visit to Brighton. Nice decor, nice feel to the place. The food was very tasty - I had the aubergine special, and my daughter had the teryaki tofu small plate and a side of chips flavoured with garlic salt and herbs. Great big portion of chips so I had a share - lovely. Very nice pinot grigio.

Our group deliberately booked a later Sunday lunch so that we can have a prompt meal but enjoy the rest of the afternoon at the pub. We had to wait over an hour for our food and although my meat was delicious, there was a lack of vegetables and the Yorkshire pudding was more a pancake....an afterthought by the kitchen staff or was that what was left? The vegetarian choice did not have a Yorkshire pudding!

Brilliant Friday night birthday dinner. All main courses and desserts excellent. The tofu doner was fabulous and chocolocate ganache, ice cream and caramel very generous. Wine over priced. Friendly service.

What a wonderful place. This place was suggested by my wife's cousin. We had a lunch date with her. The place is lovely, service was fantastic and the food was delicious. If you are ever in Brighton check this place out it's wonderful. Great value for money

I was in Brighton on business and come into the Earth and Stars for a lunch meeting. It's a typical small, low ceiling type British pub with a fair amount of seating. We grabbed some drinks and some lunch - and I can say that the food was some of the better pub food I've had. I ate the fish finger sandwich, which was presented well without being overly pretentious as these things can get sometimes but the taste of the fish was incredible. Totally fresh as if it'd been caught that morning - what a pleasant surprise to get!

Earth and Stars do some amazing vegan food to an excellent standard! They have now started doing ‘Plant based Thursdays’ which I was over joyed to hear! My upmost respect to the Head Chef for their creative skills - very talented ⭐️⭐️⭐️ It is so nice being catered for in such a passionate way!

Excellent Vegan roast dinner with side of cashew cheese cauliflower and extra potoatoes as we were hungry! We had the tart and mushroom wellington which we shared. Fantastic friendly and helpful staff. Essential to book as it was busy. Highly recommended.

This place is lovely for a catch up with friends and a hearty meal. I had the vegan fish and chips and it was great! Lovely environment. Had a tropical ale as well!

A traditional pub, no fancy decor, just an old fashioned interior. BUT the menu is superb. Small plates are awesome and the flavours of everything were excellent. No fuss, just yummy.

Out to Brighton from London to quickly take in the Coast. We left mid morning from out apartment in east London so got into Brighton just after one o’clock. The first pub we hit had stopped serving food but recommended Earth & Stars.

My daughter booked us for the lunch and it was our first visit (4 May 20190) to this Pub. Very good food, service and reasonable prices. Good sunday lunch and it does cater for vegetarian and vegan, too. I enjoyed Broccoli Steak and my daughter Spanakopita and other roast chicken, all nicely presented and tasty.

Qué lástima. Este pub solía ser muy popular para los asados de los domingos, pero ahora se le dificulta acertar con lo básico. Si bien no nos podemos quejar del servicio, la comida, por otro lado, fue una gran decepción. Muchas de las verduras asadas (incluyendo las papas) estaban poco cocinadas. La mayoría de las cosas en mi plato fue simplemente poco sazonada. La coliflor de anacardo y queso solo probaba las cucharadas de pimentón que tenía. La comida era una mezcla confusa de sabores, que realmente no funcionaba. Todo solo sabía barato, pero no era alrededor de las 14. ¡Adiós!

Una tabla de 10, con adultos, niños y algunos requisitos dietéticos complejos presentaría un gran desafío para cualquier restaurante. Más aún en el día de la Maratón de Brighton.

Fuimos aquí y vimos que ofrecían tofish (vegana, la más cercana al pescado, papas fritas y papas fritas, con tofu cocido en algas y masa). El tofish en sí era bueno, y las patatas fritas (o más bien las "cuñas") sabrosas pero no numerosas.

Vine aquí con un pequeño grupo para una cena de cumpleaños y lo pasamos muy bien. La comida fue excelente y funcionó muy bien para personas con diversas alergias / intolerancias. Hay una muy buena selección de vegetarianos y sin gluten, además de opciones de carne para los carnívoros. Toda la comida fue hecha a una calidad muy alta, nada fue segundo mejor.

The Earth and Stars used to be one of our favourite destinations for a superb Sunday roast. The standard and quality of the food was spectacular (and, indeed, award winning). Having eaten here a few times during the week since it's change of management a couple of years ago I felt confident I would not be disappointed. Unfortunately, I'm afraid I was. We decided to eat here on Sunday with out of town friends. The general ambience and service were wonderful, what great staff! Efficient, friendly and very welcoming. I could not fault them. The menu looked very promising, although there were only 3 choices of meat for roasts, with the rather surprising absence of lamb, considering the time of year. There were, however a number of other options including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free choices. All members of our party opted for beef and pork between us, which arrived very quickly with a good selection of vegetables. First impressions were that the portions were a good size, but not huge, with a large part of the plate taken up by a big Yorkshire pudding and swimming in gravy. The beef was ok, but disappointing, not great, slightly overcooked. The pork was, however, delicious, with an impressive piece of crispy crackling. The vegetables were all nice, with the exception of the roast potatoes, which wouldn't win any prizes I'm afraid. They had that heated up from cold taste and feel about them, as did the Yorkshire pudding. Then we come to the gravy......there was certainly plenty of it, but sadly that's the only positive point. It looked thin and it tasted thin. There was very little depth or quality of flavour to it at all. The stars of the show on any roast dinner are the meat, the roast potatoes and the gravy.......unfortunately in this particular case they were all decidedly lack-lustre. It felt like their cooking needed a bit more love and care. This meal was perfectly edible and had some very good points, but was sadly generally rather uninspiring. We didn't want desserts, but had we decided to would have been rather disappointed as there was only one choice left on the menu, which, considering we were there relatively early in the day felt like bad planning. All in all a very average meal, made up for to an extent by the lovely service. I will no doubt eat here again during the week, but don't feel inspired to bother with the roast again. What a shame.

I've had several delicious lunches here before but sadly after today we are are unlikely to come again. Staff are great, attentive and quick, but roast was bland and ordinary. Not sure what has happened.

We visited here on a weekday for lunch. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We chose this restaurant as we required a vegan meal. We weren't disappointed. It is situated just out of the city centre, down a side street, so we did have to search a bit for it. The lunch menu is quite small (the dinner menu has more options) but the dishes we chose were very tasty and reasonably priced. Note If travelling with babies, they do not have highchairs available.

Went for Lunch last Sunday. As soon as we walked through the door we were attended to straight away and seated by a lovely guy. The food was good, even though there was sadly no Lamb left, I had Beef instead it was delicious. The veggies had a lovely twist to them, my favourite being the cabbage. I would definitely recommend for a quick pub lunch on a Sunday.

The lovely lady with blue hair (sorry I didn't get your name) made us welcome as soon as we spoke to her and she found us a table straight away. We both ordered the mushroom tagliatelle and it was sooo tasty, obviously cooked by people who know how to pack a punch with flavour. We also got a sample of their vegan raspberry meringues and found out that the chef was vegan, very reassuring! We will definitely come back for more food next time we visit Brighton, thanks for a lovely evening x

Food is second to none. Staff 5* Sunday lunch is the best. A real must do. Very popular so book ahead for a table. Great place for couples and families.

I visited the Earth and Stars many times in the past but the last few times haven't been a great experience. I was last there for lunch and ordered the steak burger. The wait wasn't bad but the food was definitely not worth it. The burger was small, almost burned on one side (it was a bit bitter) and the salad looked like it was cut three days ago. The fries were not bad but definitely not on the 'wow' side either. For the amount of money I paid for it, I definitely expected something better.

As the title suggests I came here on a Sunday (there was a group of us) and indulged in one of their Sunday roasts. Service was really friendly and you felt relaxed and not rushed at all. It was around 4.30pm so at that time when sometimes places are winding down but that didn't seem the case here. Anyway I ordered the Pork, others ordered the lamb - both dishes were exceptional. Nice portions, cooked to perfection, quality ingredients, they absolutely nailed it. I would return here every Sunday if I could, great job Earth and Stars

Went for Sunday roast. The staff were great and very friendly even though busy and rushing about. Drinks arrived super fast, however we waited nearly 40 mins for our roast even though they needed the table back. Ok is about as best as I can give. Luke warm except the volcanic twice cooked or warmed up spuds. The Lamb was very fatty. Cauliflower cheese was strange and not very cheesy. Even with 3 vegan choices doubt we’ll be back - average at best.

Having been wowed by this pubs great Sunday lunch in the past, booked to go with friends today. Positive is knowing my vegan daughter was catered for, but... not as I remembered. Placed an order for drinks which I had to chase after 20 minutes. The lunch was tasty but luke warm... and absolutely swimming in gravy. Gone was the exquisite presentation and to be honest nothing special. So disappointed as had raved about this place. Will not be rushing back.

Popped in for a drink and a bite to eat for lunch. Great friendly welcome and good, fish and veggie were great! You won't go wrong going here and what's great is there's options for veggie, vegan, meat eaters and gluten free.... All taste amazing!

Cinco de nosotros para cenar, dos veganos y tres personas. Como sucedió, todos menos uno de nosotros optamos por opciones veganas. Tuve el curry amarillo de verduras, que era absolutamente delicioso. El carnívoro también disfrutó de su hamburguesa.

In a town with great pubs, we went back many times to Earth and Stars because owners were so accommodating and made us feel so welcome. Thanks again for everything from the Irish crowd!

Friendly staff under new management. I indulged in a very tasty rice with coconut curry sauce. A bit pricy but excellent so I will return.

El nivel de servicio es fabuloso, el nivel de conocimiento sobre las bebidas es insuperable y la comida es fantástica. . . Mi foto de las papas fritas no hace justicia. . . . Solo entra y prueba este lugar! ! ! Apuesto a que vuelvas! ! !

Soy vegana, mi hija (8) es vegetariana y mi pareja come carne, escogimos este pub para comer debido a que podría atender a todos:)

Went for lunch with my visiting grandparents, all three of us had the fish and chip and it was by the far the best fish I’ve had in Brighton. The batter was crisp and not oily or soggy in the slightest, would recommend

Four of us had drinks and meals there on a Tuesday evening - it was quiet after 7.30.

Although it's in the centre, it felt like I was in a quiet place which is what I was aiming for. I just wanted some dinner while I was hanging around waiting for a train and I didn't want to go somewhere awkward because I was by myself. The staff member was very polite and helped me understand what was on the menu and it was cooked very quickly. It was very tasty although smaller than meals I'm used to. It liked the fairy lights around the place. It was a nice cosy place.

Excellent pork belly, great accompaniments (garlic potatoes were amazing) cashew cauliflower cheese was sadly very tasteless but otherwise, really really good. Extra gravy and apple sauce appreciated (1 tiny pot of apple sauce isn’t enough for 3 people!) and lovely staff. Unsurprisingly busy with the quality of food on offer.

I had fish & chips my partner being vegan had seitan burger and fries

First time to Brighton for birthday weekend. Googled gluten free fish and chips and found this pub. Really easy to find once we knew what we were looking for, straight off north street by Boots. I have been coeliac for 20 years and being by the seaside I was desperate for fish and chips. We called into every chip shop including Harry Ramsdens to be told no they don’t cater for gluten free. I was delighted to find this place and boy was it worth it. The fish was beautifully cooked. The gluten free beer batter freshly prepared and so crispy was the best thing I’ve eaten in years, everything on the plate homemade including the pea purée and tartar sauce. For me the only downside was we found it on our last night and we live over 4 hours drive away otherwise I’d be back every weekend. They know all about cross contamination for peace of mind. It’s such a Shame they’re tucked out the way off the main track as the food was out of this world and the chef deserves a huge mention and some sort of recommendation award. Coeliac or not, you need to eat here, I guarantee you will not be disappointed and I will be back

Popped in on the day we arrived in Brighton as we were staying very, very close by. Has a good choice of food on the menu and even shows which boat caught the choice of fish that week! Would definetly recommend and will be going back when we revisit Brighton.

Took our vegan son here - very noisy with loads of folks chatting away! Menu had a lovely selection and we were all able to find delicious things to suit us - the key lime pie was amazing! Even though it was very busy, the staff seemed to have time to make sure we had what we wanted, were happy and comfortable and well fed. We'll definitely be coming back - nice one!

Took my vegan daughter for lunch. I also had a vegan option the seitan burger. She had Asian yellow curry. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food. There are non vegan options. Also great atmosphere!

Has to be up there with the worst service I’ve ever received. Ordered 3 lagers, they were all flat, we were told that they were always like that. We were then seemingly mocked by the bartender and her friends for complaining. The male bartender whose name I forget was actually really nice and welcoming, unfortunately the attitude of his colleague was absolutely awful and for that reason we won’t return. A nice pub in a great location but absolutely ruined by one member of staff that clearly had no interest or pride in her job. A real shame.

We visited Earth and Stars twice on our trip to Brighton. The staff are nice and the owner is a really friendly chap. We ended up talking about the world cup with him.

The Earth and Stars has always been a firm favourite of mine for eating out in Brighton.
