I went to Eager Poet with 11 other friends and we had a lovely time… food was excellent albeit a little slow.. the service was great and couldn’t do enough for us. 1 friend arrived a little late and couldn’t order any food but the did make her a bowl of chips. We will definitely be back 😊

The food here is top standard! It's served hot and tasty with about a 20 minute wait but it's so worth it! Great drinks deals and a nice outside area. Inside is very hot and stuffy as the windows don't open which made us feel abit sick hopefully some fans will be put in. Staff are great 👍

Went to the pub twice with my husband. First time we had mac and cheese with salad and a burger, second time we tried the pies and muzz sticks. Both times everything arrived hot and delicious. The staff is very kind and the vibes were great. We loved it.

I was up the pub about 1,30 weeks ago and I had the alday breakfast and it was great , the service was top of the game. Plus they went out of the way to help me as I'm partly sighted and just getting over a stroke what a great place it is are be go back with the wife very soon . Well done team . 👍😋

My first visit for over 40 years and the darts board I used to play on is still here ! Nice pint of GK IPA and reasonably priced pub grub. A lively sports bar.

I was really excited to watch the Fury V Usyk fight at Eager Poet on 18.05.24 - as were my group of friends. I called the pub on 5th May and was asked to call back as the bar was busy. I duly called back an hour later and booked a table for four - my details were taken i.e phone number etc. I then called again on 11th May to ask about food on the night and was told I had no booking! So, yet again my details were taken including my phone number and it was confirmed that my table was booked! Due to my previous experiences, I called the establishment again on 14th May, to check my booking.....third time lucky?! NOT!!! I was told there was no booking but now I could book a table but would need to leave a deposit. I have no problem in leaving a deposit. However, could a representative not call me back - to relay this information and to take my booking?! Especially since I had called twice before and left my details - as it was evident that I really wanted to book a table! From 5th -14th May and 4 calls later, I was no further forward!!!!! Needless to say, we did not watch the fight at Eager Poet! Disappointing and 0 for customer service, from us!

We went today for Sunday meal the pub is nice good stuff but the food was bad nothing cooked properly roast potatoes was horrible not cook good and the mash potatoes were not nice at all won't go again. We left most of our food so nasty shame really but best food I had on a Sunday. Was the old swan in Bletchley gorgeous food there.

Attentive staff great pub food and atmosphere. Yasmin who served us was super amazing and helpful. She was amazing can't say enough about her, helped alot especially as we had 2 kids with us.

The Eager poet is my go to place for a warm welcoming pub which has great food - especially the build your own burger and the steaks. Lovely landlady too!

My brother and I came to watch the football and found a nice seat straight away. We ordered the burgers which you can “build” yourself. I was expecting some cheap pub chain grub but it was like a gourmet burger. Delicious. And only cost a tenner with chips and onion rings, and my drink! Also plenty of screens for the football ⚽️

I have drank in the poet after work and always noticed the Sunday roast £11.50 for two and thought wow I wonder if that was acceptable, am NOT expecting it to be like the cross keys £37 for two meals or Blanc for £40 but if I wanted a Sunday off cooking and not worry about dressing up this had potential Well I can confirm if you are on a budget and you want simple food with excellent service I rate this place 10 out of 10 !!! Clean , acceptable food and a great pub , I would 100% go again with the wife knowing it’s clean acceptable and does a job . With lovely staff . The lady behind the bar Chelsea I believe she was called was fantastic We had table 4 in the corner Sunday 19th around 12pm and she was fab

This is a sports pub so can be noisy. Food was good and very good value. Parking is shared with the shops. Will go again

Super place to eat, Yasmin so friendly, polite, quick service ordered via the app, very welcoming with a great ambience. Chef Simon cooks food well is piping hot, nice plate full and very appetising, big outside drinking area, great bar staff and good prices on drinks & food too

Friendly pub, my partner and I ate here on a Tuesday night. Not too busy, I had the hunters chicken and an IPA, my partner had the chick n mix. Our host Yasmin on the bar was polite and looked after us very well, Simon in the kitchen cooked our food perfectly and we both enjoyed our meals. Greene King pubs are cheap and cheerful, that's exactly what we came for and exactly what we got.

Great drinkers / eaters pub. Ask the staff where the pub name came from. Outdoor bench seats need repinning or tightening though!

Bar staff are amazing! So friendly and up for a chat, within two orders our barmaid already had mine and my friends orders memorised. Feels like a proper local, good for a hangout with friends.

Better than average pub grub, well kept real ale, a Greene King Pub with Old Speckled Hen and Green King IPA, they are delicious 95% of the time. 2 massive meals for under £11 during the week, real good value. EDIT: It should be know that the other 5% of the time, the ale is great! :) x

We went to the Egar Poet and it was not a nice atmosphere. We went because we know they have a pool table and we wanted to play a few games. We bought 4 rum and cokes and 4 shots of fire ball. This was between 4 people. After this, we played a game and then went to order another drink. They told us they would not serve us because we were too drunk. We explained we all had autism/adhd and maybe because of this we seemed a little more drunk. They still refused to serve us after we had multiple conversations were we were very clean and precise (not drunk). This bar tender didn’t offer for us to speak with a manager and made us feel isolated (there were far more drunk people in the pub) and forced us to leave. It started as a good evening but after this we will defiantly not be returning to Egar Poet.

I've been going to the Poet on and off since the early 90s. While it's seen many changes it remains fundamentally the same. Sports on the screens, good pub, good staff, reasonable food and interesting patrons. Today was quiet for a Sunday afternoon with back to back football matches. But just as good as ever.

I used to have a beer in this pub many moons ago but after the last couple of visits i would not go back first its not that clean, the loos are disgusting and very smelly, the food is very bellow par with other pubs, the pub to be honest is very chavey, Now for the staff, i have never met such a insulting old hag of a land lady who runs the pub, so so rude for no reason, you will remember me lady as i would not put up with it and gave you better than you gave me, hence why you walked away with no reply, i guess thats why the pub is so chavey with some one like you in charge.

Came by on a Sunday evening for a few drinks and game of pool. Friendly enough crowd and staff very welcoming. Didnt eat but I could see food being served. Looked nice so will be back for lunch/dinner.

Not the best pub I've been to, but had live music that night and staff were nice. And they werent serving food at 9pm when we got there on a Saturday.

Brilliant atmosphere bar staff were all great. Very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Amanda was lovely, chatted with us. Food was excellent very well presented and good value for money

Lovely pub, friendly staff, great beer with a lot of draft choice. We only had chips and the kids played pool (there's also darts). We sat inside and watched sports on a number of screens but there's also small garden outside.

Great pub. Friendly lady behind the bar. There's two pool tables and a dart board. We had the signature burger which was fantastic! Unfortunately the football was on the TV when we were there and it was turned up way too loud, so just 4 stars.

I've been here a few times now and always get welcomed with a smile by every team member I've encountered. The team are friendly and knowledgeable, nothing is ever too much hassle for them. Amanda the manager is fantastic and has impeccable service skills and most definitely shows the team how it's done. Will most definitely be returning for more top notch service from them all

First time in this pub but I can say I'd re commend it good food god value for money and good service pleasant to eat and drink in

Staff were professional and friendly, didn't try the food however. One point, the gents toilets stank. Maybe that was a one off, but from about 7 to closing and the mens toilets were awash and far from fragrant

Whilst in the area I decided to come in for a drink and something to eat. I had found a warm welcome from the Manager and a perfectly cooked steak from the Chef. 2 lovely ladies who I am glad to have met. Plus a clean environment with good food too. It’s the 3rd Friday of the month, so traditionally quiet …. Which suits me for a first visit, and with the promise of live music / face painting (for the young’uns) / and Bingo for those with time on their hands whilst others are are work during the week …. I’m pretty sure I’ll be coming back. Looking forward to my next steak and chips!

Love coming to this pub, always friendly and great service from the team, Amanda the manager runs a tight ship with all the restrictions, we always feel safe.

If you are coming here food its a big no as we had breaded mushrooms today and they had water in them must not have been defrosted before frying.The nachos were not done properly we actualy had unmelted chunks of cheese and when returned they melted them in microwave and made it really chewy.The mushroom pie was a complete disaster as the dough was thick and dry the mash was without butter and tasted blend.The cheesy garlic bread were not crispy rather mushy 🤷‍♂️ Last time I had jacket potato they were good. Thanks for the drinks and on time service and the atmosphere.But Food is a BIG NO.

Amazing meal .and staff very helpful and friendly
