We came after a show in Kentish Town and it sorted our dinner quickly! We tried the kebab and was nice, meat was tender. Fries could be better but portion is huge. When we came in I tried asking something to the staff and at first they were talking to each other and ignored me which wasn't nice, but they were friendly afterwards.

The staff is EXTREMELY friendly and so generous! The food is always prepared well, it tastes amazing, and every time family comes in to visit, we make sure to stop here for the best food in Kentish Town. We always eat it all!

Came here 17/09 for my Birthday. Food was lovely, ordered the mixed grill and really enjoyed it. Took some great pictures of the food, mouth watering. Highly recommend 👌

Solo quería comer un bocado rápido después de nadar y había estado aquí 1-2 antes, así que entré directamente. Hay un poco de personal, pero por alguna razón no me pudieron servir. El personal estaba sirviendo órdenes de llevar y el camarero me ignoraba aparentemente a propósito. Luego se precipitó a mi lado hacia una mesa con clientes ya que, por alguna razón, las personas que ya se habían sentado eran más importantes que yo. Decidí que lo mejor era alejarme y fui a Goeykzoe, que estaba delicioso. El servicio fue excelente y el shish de cordero simplemente se derrite en su boca. El personal de Mono necesita entender que, independientemente de lo buena que sea su comida, el servicio es crucial para atraer la costumbre. Este es un restaurante informal donde la gente espera un servicio rápido y todos necesitan sentirse igual de valorados y atendidos. Por supuesto, no volveré y no lo recomiendo hasta que hayan arreglado su servicio. Espero que estén de acuerdo en que una sola mujer en chándal merece el mismo respeto y servicio que un montón de chicos.

Falafel wrap was huge and v tasty and staff were very nice

After years of going to this kebab place they tried to shamelessly scam me. Absolutely disgusting and disgraceful. They attempted to say our payment was declined and after we got the bank transaction up they backtracked and said oh oh it’s gone through all of a sudden. These guys are scammers and are trying to take advantage of anyone and everyone. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Es 2024 , mi banco está en mi teléfono y abro mi cuenta bancaria y muestro claramente que me han cobrado. Mientras les muestro el cargo pendiente, como Dios lo tendrá, mis notificaciones telefónicas muestran "£ 27 en el restaurante E Momo". De la nada, como si el gato llegara allí lengua, sí, ha pasado por sí. Es curioso. Tengo testigos, se lo aseguro. Si has estado bebiendo, pensarán que no te darás cuenta y tocarás dos veces. ¡Están haciendo una estafa! Terrible. Terrible compañía. Realmente creo que apuntan a aquellos que toman una copa y luego les cobran dos veces. No soy el único que ha tenido esta experiencia. ¡Familia y amigos han informado lo mismo! As good as you'll get for Turkish food in terms of taste and quality. I had a mixed shish with salad and rice. The bread and salad were good quality. The chilli sauce just right, neither too mild nor too hot. And the meat was succulent and delicious. Couldn't ask for more. It isn't a 'restaurant restaurant'. It's a takeaway with space for dine in. But staff were efficient and courteous. The portions were generous too. Update: they've revamped the dining area with bigger tables and chairs for dining in. Food still as good as ever.

Came here about a week ago with my mum and aunt. Food was amazing, and atmosphere and service was brilliant. Everyone was super nice. Will definitely recommend

Simply amazing. Been here first time 2 years ago by accident, left country, came back now and it's exactly as I remember. The staff is so kind, you can literally feel the love in this place. Food - I don't even have to say anything, I did not have a better kebab than this. Berlin is not even close. Make sure you visit as this is a staple in Kentish Town as well as whole London!

Amazing food! We dined at E. Mono for the first time a few years back and it was memorable enough that we came again! The staff is very nice and welcoming. I went for the Adana Kofte Iskender which was fabulous! It looks spicy but isn’t (although I’m a huge fan of spice!). It was very savory and felt like comfort food. Thank you and we will be back!! ❤️

Grand atmosphere . Great place to dine anytime. The size of the portions for the price is simply worth it. It won’t let you down. The platters are worth a try… always tempting!!

Have been coming here frequently since they opened. Really friendly and good guys, who take pride in serving their food. I literally can't fault anything on the menu, but my favorite has to be the lamb kofte wrap, which is simply mouth watering.

Absolutamente evita. Pagué 18 libras. 60 para un Shish mixto y 330 ml de efes. Miró el menú y el shish mezclado es 12. 50, mientras que el caballero detrás del mostrador afirmó que los efes eran £ 5. Hágase un favor y camine 30 segundos a cada lado y disfrute del McDonald's muy básico que aún es mejor que ser estafado por estos lotes o 2 puertas más abajo es Bengal lancer donde se puede obtener un curry, arroz, poppadoms y un pan extra naan por £ 16 , 87 . Absolutamente impactante de estos lotes. AVOID

Absolutely avoid. I paid £18.60 for a mixed Shish and a 330ml of efes. Looked at the menu and the mixed shish is 12.50 while the gentleman behind the counter claimed the efes was £5. Do yourself a favour and walk 30 seconds either side and enjoy the very basic McDonald's which is still better than being ripped off by these lot or 2 doors down is Bengal lancer where you can get a curry, rice, poppadoms and an extra naan bread for £16,87. Absolutely shocking from these lot. AVOID

I’ve been to this place as it is local to me and I’ve observed that for some weird reason some staff behave very unwelcoming and almost discriminatory towards muslim girls wearing head scarf whereas they’re very accommodating and hospitable to individuals with other religion and skin colour. Very odd men and service!. Absolute disgrace

First time here, amazing experience. Food freshly prepared and tasty. Prices are good. Friendly staff. What more can someone ask for?

firstly the food we could not fault. The issues we have with this restaurant is the staff attitude and not being clear from the start about the pricing. It was not explained that the price of dining in is different, this is significant because we were ordering from the board and not from the menu so this shouldve inormed the host that as we had verbally said we were going to be eating inside. The attitude of the host was unfriendly and felt like he was not bothered to serve us or take out order. When the food arrived it was not what i was expecting, it look larger than what we had ordered. Later it turned out that they had given us completely different meal to what was ordered and that reflected in the price. Clearly there was no language barrier as the host spoke good english without nay problems but when i pulled them up on the wrong order they claimed their English was a barrier. I would say the meal was overpriced for what it was and I was better off if we had gone to Gokyuzu a few doors away.

The people that work here are so kind and make amazing food!!! Definitely suggest to anyone looking for a bite to eat.

I feel like I've just been robbed. A single kofte with donner meat and salad was £27! A mixed 3 kebab is just £17 on the menu, so why £27? The food was good but that's far too much....

Pretty average to be honest. I had the large lamb doner and the meat was a little dry. It was also quite off putting that there was a strong smell of gas in the restaurant.

We were filming in the area and ordered over 100 wraps for our crew across two days. The staff at E.Mono were super kind and helpful and the crew loved the food, everyone was very grateful! Definitely 5 star!

Salad rice sauces bread all excellent. Lamb doner had too much fat and gristle.

For Spanish speakers (my usual audience): I came with a friend and we both ordered the Shawarma Mix w Fries. First of all, clarify that this is my opinion and for others it may be different. As always I will divide this review into three parts which are Local, Service and Food. Starting with the place, it is a cozy place, the music is very pleasant to the ear, colorful decoration and a good display of the food at the counter. It must be said that the bathroom was, like every classic Kebab place, dirty like the Barcelona metro. Moving on to service, there was a very friendly and helpful waitress and one of the cooks was very attentive. On the other hand, the boy who served us when we ordered the food was quite hesitant and even seemed a bit dismissive to me. I gave it 3 stars because the others were friendly and I don't want the place to be belittled because of one person. Lastly, the food was good. I don't fully understand why they advertise Shawarma as with kebab meat, but hey, I'm not going to ask them for a master's degree because after all we are in London. The meat was still good although it lacked flavor. The salad was probably the best, you could tell it was fresh and well cut. The bread, on the other hand, was lightly toasted and this was noticeable since in the end it fell apart easily. This is painful for Durum and Shawarma lovers. The potatoes were from a bag but at least they had a good level of crunchiness and the yogurt sauce maintains a touch of mint that is pleasant at first but that I hated in the end. Despite that, I have to say that the size of the medium shawarma is enough, the large one is not necessary (coming from someone who eats a lot). In conclusion, the place is very expensive for what it is, although I understand it because at the end of the day we are in Camden, a tourist place where we are the victims. Thank you so much.

I have had the distinct pleasure of eating at E.Mono since the early 2000’s and can easily say they make the best lamb shawarma in north London hands down. Just thinking about their garlic sauce is enough to make you brave a trip in the snow, heat or pandemic as I have been one to do… Do yourself a favour and go here IMMEDIATELY. Frankly I struggle to get the hype: special kebabs like iskender are not served at lunch and wrap bread is from a supermarket multi-pack. Chicken doner tasted ok but not cheap at 12.5 for a large portion. Also, it seems there is a service charge if you eat in (I paid 14.45 instead of 12.5+1 for a large wrap and bottle of water)

A North London Classic and very arguably the best shawara in London.

I eat here a couple of times a week on average. Whenever I get home from a long trip it's the first place I go to. I think that tells you enough. Much love to E Mono and all of the staff.

The ignorant attendant was being racist towards me looking at my bald patch and suggesting I get botched hair transplant in turkey , I asked for more chilli sauce and he brought me unwashed green papers saying there is more spicy with a smirk. Food was good.

Quite good. I was looking for somewhere to eat the wasn't Macd's in the morning, and E. Mono was the only place that was open. I was pleased they were there, but the person serving didn't seem to mind either way. I appreciate it was early (11:20), and I was the first customer, but I'd have liked a little more friendliness. If I could give 4.5 stars I would, because like I said, I was pleased they were open, but would've liked them to be happy to have a customer.

Had the lamb shawarma. Delicious and filling! The lamb was really well grilled and generously added. Definitely one of the better shawarma places in London! Comes quite close to the authentic ones in the middle east.

Injured my foot on their faulty metal bar which fell on my foot ..I paid the full bill and no first aider cared to look after my injury. Disgusting customer service

Updated review July 2023: We always make a point of visiting E. Mono when in London (sometimes multiple times per visit). It has always been fresh, delicious and good value. Visited today and were very seriously disappointed. We ordered two medium chicken doner wraps. One was the regular portion and the other was very small and missing a topping. We inquired with multiple staff who just shrugged it off. This will sadly be our last visit. Previous review: Super fresh and tasty. Great value, staff are really friendly.

Ordered on deliveroo, absolutely misleading advertisement and picture on the site ordered the set meal for two, was tasteless and chicken was stale, thrown straight out, not edible, contacted the shop who confirmed that we should ignore the pictures

The taste was not up to the mark. It was not well cooked. Unfortunately Will not recomend to anyone not a good experience.

Nice decore, newly refurbished. Just a bit cold inside. I always enjoy falafel wrap £8, hubby had lamb wrap. Reasonably priced.

Mostly fairly priced, nice staff, people in and out of the loo sort of ruined the experience though. Will be back . The wrap was worth it, but we got something (can’t remember the name, it was like an aubergine stew) which was literally on a tiny plate. It was a bump. Everything else fine.

Yes, the food is tasty but it's expensive and portions are modest. I had medium chicken doner/schwarma take away and the amount of chicken was in no way generous... Is it really still free-range chicken? Hmmm, I'm not so sure.

I had superb shish kebab washed down with a glass of Efes, and love that the signage and atmosphere of a former Italian restaurant has been maintained even though the food is Turkish.

Best kebab in Kentish Town and Camden. Most dishes come with rice bulgur. Their bread is incredible and the chips are better than most burger places like honest, shack, etc.

Tasty Turkish at E Mono in Kentish town. We opted for lamb chops & ribs. Both were nicely cooked. Average size portions. Honestly it was good but didn’t have a wow like its reputation had made out to be.

I usually come to this place when I am in the area but that won't be happening anymore. The treatment was so poor that I had to say something in the end too... but... let's start from the beginning: The food was nothing special and the meat was rather tasteless. When the guy was filling my wrap I had to repeat myself few times that I wanted only 2 ingredients on my doner, but, while I was talking to him he got distracted repeatedly and at some point he started talking with somebody else. I was getting annoyed and turned for a second towards my girlfriend. When I turned my focus back to him he was filling my wrap with everything, including raw onions that I usually avoid at late night. The wrap was half burnt and dry. Another guy started dropping stuff I didn't order on my table and I had to send them back. I was still not completely disappointed at this point and thought that maybe they were just having a bad day. When I went to pay though, I realise that it wasn't just about having a bad day. These sad guys had the audacity to overcharge me after all the above happened (there are also other reviews sharing the same experience with prices inconsistency). I wasn't even looking for a discount to be honest but at least to pay the fair amount. The guy never even apologised properly and £15 pounds for a tasteless doner wrap and a bottle of water it's preposterous! Do yourself a favour and avoid this place. There are many Turkish restaurants around which are great, no need to waste time and money here.

They have good food for a takeaway chain. Higher-end fast-food. Other places, we have had problems with undercooked chicken, but never here.

I've ordered a chicken shish from here and it was absolutely incredible, cooked perfectly and tastes delicious. They also served me turkish bread with chilli and garlic sauces with the meal and it complemented the chicken.

Really Best Kebab in Kentish Town 👌

This was one of my favourite historic Turkish of the area until I went to pay the bill and I saw a petrified mouse on the floor. I am sorry to add such a review but this was not a “fresh death”. I also understand many London restaurants suffering of pests activities, so below a few questions: Do you have a pest control company to reduce and monitor activities? Do you do deep cleaning? Do you receive EHO visits sometimes?

Unusual combination of tastes, worthy of return visit

I use to love this place, and without a doubt, it use to be the best kebab in North West London. Not anymore, staff behind the counter are rude with a stinking attitude, they make the prices up as they go along, the portion sizes have got smaller yet the prices have gone up. Never will I use this place ever again!!!! RiP E.Mono. P.S, i would highly recommend Caledonian Kebab, or Marathon Kebab.

This place used to be the best kebab shop in London! However since the new owners took over a couple of months ago the prices have gone up and the quality and portion size has gone down. They are even charging to eat in, today I was charged £16.95 for a large Chicken shish. I've been a loyal customer for over 10 years. That is not even mentioning how rude the new owner. E.mono RIP

I took my friend our for lunch birthday treat we waited 35 minutes to order they was more interested in serving takeaway ,when i got mine it was cold waited another 30 minutes for my friends meal which looked like baby food awful. Would never go back.

Tried this restaurant for the first time with a mate and we are gobsmacked by how delicious the grilled chicken shish was! The service was impeccable. It is now one of my favourite restaurants
