Food taste is on point however portion not as advertised. Give this place a miss, rip you off. Ordered x2 meals, received in one box with portions decreased, miniature pizza not even 9" slices. Count the fries

I ordered a steak box 📦 thinking it was going to be served in slices with salad and wedges. But I was given a steak loaded box full of sauce and cheese which was disgusting was more sauce and cheese the meat was little chopped bits there was no salad just cheese and sauce with chips very disappointed. I ordered 8 wings which were covered in cheap hot chilli sauce no marination was absolutely disgusting very disappointed. I ordered a 6oz smash burger which had no cheese in there was tasteless and and disappointing. The reviews here are a lie that's for sure I would recommend they start selling quality over quantity. Staff are in there own world need to hire some proper chefs who actually enjoy cooking. Most of the food was untouched scrap went over to box & grill over the road which was actually decent.

A fabulous takeaway place for a cheeky burger and fries. The server was awesome. Payment was quick and easy and the quality of the meat was fantastic. Definitely worth having a try.

The place is clean, neat and tidy and the decor of the store is trendy. Full views of the kitchen can be seen and this gives one assurance of the cleanliness of the kitchen and food. All the food is freshly prepared so be prepared to wait a little bit. Our personal favourites are their wings in their special sauce, the loaded fries, burgers and pizza 🍕 Once you try it you will certainly be back for more 😄

15 quid for a munchbox?? Dont get much. I went to hotville and cattle and Smoke instead. These guys too stingy with sauces too. One tiny little pot and their excuse is the current price of ingredients. You havin a laugh mate

Ordered 3 15” pizzas, and the large portion of ziggy fries. Fast, fresh and absolutely delicious. Service was great, and we enjoyed the garlic herb sauce especially which was given free with other free sauces by the friendly cashier. I had the margarita and tandoori chicken, hot shot and down town special (with chicken instead of beef). Would highly recommend, great value for price. **UPDATE 2 MONTHS LATER** DO NOT BUY THE BEEF OR DWN TWN SPECIAL PIZZA. It smelt so bad could hardly eat. Called up and lady said bring pizza back for exchange of another pizza. Don’t know how old that beef was …

Only been the one time so far and can say that it was pretty good, the food tasted nice and the staff were pretty friendly. I ordered for takeaway and it didn't take long at all. Would come back to try other stuff on their menu, I had the Philly Cheese steak meal and it hit the spot 👌

Food was good but horrible customer service. Had to wait 30-40 minutes for one pizza only. They shall try to increase their staff to cater the increasing number of customers. Secondly the heating system is pathetic that is highly disappointing especially in this cold weather.

Fantastic food and brilliant service! From start to finish. When placing an order over the phone through a professional automated system the phone was answered within a few seconds despite being number 2 in queue. As it was our first time, I was recommended the hotshot pizza and it was delicious its really hard to find a decent halal pizza place in Leicester and I think this will now be our go to! We also ordered the wings and chips and they were also really tasty. Usually when we get a takeout the chips get rubbery but these were very fresh and crispy. Honestly can’t fault the place. Deffo my new takeaway spot.

We got a kid's chicken burger 🍔 which was delicious 😋. Food placed out on a tray beautifully. The chips 🍟 were also very delicious. The service was lovely, and the food was made quite quick. We also ordered chilli cheese bites, which were also very yummy 😋. Everything was perfect 👍. We loved it there it was fantastic.

One of the best halal burger restaurants in leicester. Although it looks that it is newly open, the taste and the presentation of the meals is amazing. I order the standard meal and it was great, the staff was so friendly and the overall cleanness is acceptable.

Excellent fresh and unique fusion pizzas. My younger bro orders a special custom one: Olives pepers jalapeños onion tandoori chicken and 2 beef patties + sauce on top. Go for it you won't ge disappointed. Wings were pretty decent too. Price is quite reasonable considering they have a nice place to eat in. Recommended

Walked in today to order a burger. Stood at the front to order, but the guy was on his phone ignoring me and my partner. The people in the back also done the same. After waiting a while, we walked out as it was uncomfortable and rude.

They make a smashing burger.. Absolutely perfect.

I have say that, probably is one of the best burger I ever had in Leicester. I recommend to try the tower budger. You will not be disappointed.

Boy how quickly things change. My 1st experience was brilliant, friendly staff and helpful but on recent visit after a few months, empty place and only customer. 2 two young looking staff seemed they would rather be playing on their phones and I rudely interrupted them. Wanted an extra sauce but they refused....sadly with that negative/unfriendly lack of customer service, and sooo much competition on this road, I'm afraid the writings on the wall!

A very beautiful burger place. The service was good and food was fresh. Really loved the flavours in their burgers, the chicken dwntwn'r was gorgeous, the perfect amount of crispness topped with their awesome house sauce. Their wings were lovely too. The owner was very kind and polite and even gave us a free burger. Their suppliers are also HMC.

Best place in leicester by far!

Food was top notch. Portions were of a good size. Facilities were of a high standard. The service I received was very pleasant and the lady (I believe who's the owner), ensured the food was prepared the best she could ensuring everything was fresh and of a good portion. The sauces you can help yourself to were delicious, I couldn't decide which one to dip into so had to take turns as they were all nice! Keep up the great work!

Good experience, friendly staff - the crinkle chips were tasty - everything served fresh The burger was great, not the best burger ive ever had- but was tasty There pink sauce (not sure what its called) was amazing - deffo recommend this place, the location is a bit awkward if you eat in because its clear glass from floor to ceiling so a bit awkward when people keep walking past - but if you dont mind that thing then come along!

The food was ok, burger was pink inside and too small. The house sauce is good though. It was mid.

Took way too long with my basic order, and still made a mistake with it. Seen multiple people come after me and get their food. Cannot handle "busy" periods at all, staff seemed all over the place. When I returned to complain after the already bad experience, they were not apologetic or did anything to rectify my disappointment.

Tried everything here and food always consistent from the chicken burgers to the pizzas. Excellent service and very friendly, always greeted with a smile by the aunty that's there. Highly recommended, love the chicken burgers Inc the monster dwntown tower burger. If you got a big appetite that's the one you defo have to try.

I wanted to order a burger so i saw dwn-twn as an option on uber eats .. but it was a bad experience.. it wasn’t written on their description that it would be spicy 🥵 and the meat didn’t cooked well .. there was red parts of it !!

Went with a few mates to this place after hearing good things. Helpful staff, fresh hot food with house sauce that is just amazing. Definitely recommend the sauce with anything. Only constructive feedback I’d give is the fries could definitely be better.

Wanted a late night munch on a Sunday whilst I was in Leicester opted for @dwntwn .. 📍 155A Evington Rd, Leicester LE2 1QJ parked on the main road and also plenty of parking on the side roads. They do take both card and cash payments. We ordered: 1 9inch Margherita pizza, I opted for the ‘Smash Down’ burger not had a smashed burger in a while and this did not disappoint 🤤 you can get this burger in 3 different sizes 4oz,6oz or 8oz I opted for the 6oz… the burger is 2 Angus grounded beef patties, house sauce, gherkins, american cheeseand served in a brioche bun I got this with the ziggy fries and was the best thing I had on the menu 🤩 also ordered ‘DownTowner Burger’ which was New york style fresh chicken breast marinated in buttermilk, fried to perfection topped with house sauce, gherkins, lettuce and served in a seeded bun Has a kick to it! I’d defo go back just for the smash burgers 🤤 they are on deliveroo if your local in Leicester.. we did have to wait 25 minute to wait for the food so be prepared to wait if your planning on dining in, also no tissues where provided which could have been added before hand other than that in terms of the food 9/10 🤙🏽

Genuinely one of the best pizzas I’ve had. Hotshot pizza highly recommended. Service is great. Sauces are delicious. And a good range of drinks. Need an excuse to go again.

Amazing place to eat perfect service and foods just mouthwatering

I only review food I loved, and the SMASH DWN burger here was absolutely gourmet, I seriously enjoyed it! It had a proper meaty taste from the 6oz patty, and a slightly peppered edge which I loved. I'll be back here again soon to try out their pizzas.

This place is the best place for pizza freshly made pizza to order tasty and reasonably priced gets above 5 stars if I could.

I’ve been twice. Had the beef burger and the chicken burger. I can definitely say best burgers in Leicester. Absolutely delicious. Also got the house sauce wings and they are really good. Would recommend this place!

Really amazing food and service.

Amazing burgers! My family and I travel in from Wigston and have visited Dwntwn a few times and we have not been disappointed on any of our visits! The place was clean and tidy, with ample seating. The customer service is excellent. If there are any issues, the staff resolve it quickly and efficiently. The eatery is clearly family run and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. It's nice that the staff remember us on each occasion we visit and took the time to build that relationship with us. I normally order the Dwntwn burger with caramelised onions, no cheese 😉 and ziggy fries. The burgers are juicy, seasoned well and the ziggy fries are just as they should be, fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside; dipped in the house sauce, absolutely delicious! The kids have the loaded fries which was assembled perfectly, with layers of cheese (instead of the usual just cheese on top as other places do), beef, chicken, Ziggy fries and sauce, so you get all the ingredients in every bite! We always leave here content and happy. Will definitely keep on returning. Thank you all at Dwntwn!

Edit - 17/12/21 - 3rd time ordering now and this time sitting in following on from the owners response below. Raised the below issue and to be fair to the owner, they dealt with me in an amazing professional manner. The food is consistently amazing anyway but their approach to customer service can only mean I have to alter from 4 stars to 5 stars! --------------------------------------------------------------------- First time ordering via deliveroo and we ordered the chicken burger and also the 8oz burger, both of which were amazing. Only reason I have given 4 stars, we ordered the 8oz without cheese as the Mrs cannot have cheese but unfortunately it came with cheese and we couldn't eat it as expected. We called to a) double check cheese wouldn't be added and later on b) to mention the cheese had been added. However, on both occasions we were on hold for 10ish minutes so gave up

Had the tower burger, ziggy fries and wings in house sauce. Everything was absolutely amazing, burger was definitely up there in quality and taste alongside boo burger. Wings were very nice, dipped in house sauce. Fries freshly made, crispy outside and soft inside. Very good service from the staff, seems like a nice place. Would definitely recommend.

DWNTWN Smash Burrgers opened last week, any reviews before then are from an old business/different owners that were in the same premises. Decided to give them DwnTwn a go as we were craving burgers and I'm so glad we did! Staff on the till were very welcoming and helped take our order with recommendations. The wife & I went for their Smash Dwn Burgers 6oz with caramelised onions as a meal. We were feeling really hungry and ordered their M-Eater Pizza as a 12". Order arrived within 15 minutes of waiting, Smash Dwn Burger was simply beautiful and I couldn't have finished it any quicker! Portion of Ziggy fries were generous and plentiful with a nice selection of condiments with their house sauce an obvious favourite although it has a kick! Pizza was thin based to my liking and full of delicious toppings although I would've preferred the meat to be underneath the cheese. I enjoyed it nonetheless and also for lunch the next day! Overall I'm so pleased I visited, will definitely be my favourite spot for Smash Burgers! Staff were very friendly and accommodating and the Uncle & Aunty behind the scenes helping were lovely. It's rare to find such establishments with genuinely lovely people at the heart of it, I hope you guys nothing but the best & plenty of success! Ameen.

Expensive and a woman there tried to rip me off by giving me the incorrect change

Was the best place anywhere. Since lockdown, complete nosedive. They dont understand English, dont deliver half the time and tasty pizzas gone!! New owners maybe..but something has changed and now very average.

My family and I normally order from Evington Road location , and they delivered within a 40-45mins. With the pizza and chips been hot.. I ordered again and it was the worst experience.. I ordered a pizza for delivery, I had to repeat my order over 5 times, with the person on the phone becuase she couldn't understand. She the pizza would be there at 8:30pm. At 8:35pm I rang on my mobile as to see about the status. The phone kept ringing. When I rang the third time the line was busy. So I tried them on my house phone a second later and it rang. But no picked up... By the time the pizza came around 8:50pm. The pizza and the fries were cold. I rang but again the phone was busy... Feel like they blocked my number.

Don't follow customer's instructions given on phone.

DISAPPOINTING!! We used to always order from Pizza Cottage Evington road before this new management and before 3 for £10 pizza opposite the road. Today We fancied the chicken tikka supreme for old Times sake but how DISAPPOINTED were we. Theres hardly any cheese or toppings. You have to look hard for any mushrooms which averaged one piece per slice!! Also the pizza was overcooked so it was hard. Pizza should be cheesy and stringy and loaded with toppings as promised. But NOT AT PIZZA COTTAGE. We will be shelving you and not bother with pizza cottage again.
