Great pub, great place to relax all was good the food's on the expensive side, although the wagyu burger was worth it, the only thing I wouldn't recommend, if you get a starter don't get the chicken strips.

First time here. It was an Anniversary meal, so was our incentive to go. Well, very pleased we did. Had a starter & main & the food was delicious, also, nice & hot. I had the salmon mousse starter & chicken & ham pie (homemade) & my wife had bruseccta starter with a fish & chips main. Again, all tasted lovely. Service was very prompt, but gave you a breather between courses. Will definitely be a return on the cards. Thanks.

Hate leaving negative reviews. But sadly yesterday me and my boyfriend came here for the 1st time arriving at 5:45 when we arrived we where seated by a lovely female member of staff (didn't catch her name sadly) We took about between 5 and 10 minutes going through the menu as we notice straight away that nearly all the food wasn't your typical pub style kind of menu. I have to confess some of the things I had to look up on Google just to see what it was. Eventually, we placed our order. We then waited almost an hour before our starter arrived at our table, making it well past 6:30pm. The female member of staff did, however, apologise and explain that they were dreadfully understaffed, being only her and the chef in with two massive deliveries turning up as well as Uber Eats orders being cooked. The starter we had was some spinach and cheese coquette thing that was burnt at the top and so crunchy too that it hurt mine and my boyfriends teeth. Once we tried to finish that off, our mains and side snacks arrived. Both our mains turned out to be awful, Mine being the Italian style burger that was smothered in pisto that all I could taste was pisto and not the burger, bacon, cheese or even the tomato. And the chips being cold and clearly McDonald's style chips, my boyfriend had some beef stuffed ravioli kind of thing in a beef broth, which he was unable to finish as it tasted awful. Our side snacks, the calamari was over cooked, rubbery and had a very strong fishy after taste, which meant the squid used was off and out of date! The only thing that was actually nice was the pork belly bites in chilli flakes with apple sauce. The meal ended up costing us £70 and no kind of refund was even offered. Once home, I then ended up being sick for the rest of the night from the bad calamari (possible food poisoning) I would strongly suggest changing the menu back to pub classics and not what you currently have on your menu. I would also strongly suggest hiring more stuff. The female member of staff was clearly overworked, running back and forth from the bar, kitchen, and dinner area. (Response to mangers comments) So you're saying your female member of staff is a liar, then when she said there were Uber Eat orders being cooked! Also, please then explain why me and my partner and I had to wait almost an HOUR for our starters to even arrive?! The Italian burger was smothered in pisto on both sides of the burger! If you want to use pisto, then only cover one side of the burger. A burger was a tomato, pisto, burger, cheese, bacon, pisto. I even told your female member of staff there was way too much pisto in the burger. Calamari is off when it's rubbery and has a strong fishy after taste. As I've never experienced that in other restaurants that serve calamari. Yes, we took home the pork belly bites because the other 3 iteams we took home with us we had to throw out. Those being the chips, calamari and the beef ravioli.

3 of us went for dinner & cocktails & were welcomed by the lovely Harriet (who made amazing cocktails!) & served us amazingly tasty food by the chef (pork belly bites, calamari, arancini, garlic bread were some of the things we sampled) There is ALOT of choice on the menu... so if you havn't tried the Dusty Miller - what are you waiting for... 😊

Rarely leave reviews but wanted to say what a wonderful time we had here yesterday! Had to do a last minute change of plans as our previous restaurant were not dog friendly as promised and we were out for my birthday with my dog. We were fit in last minute by the lovely team, for a table of 6, plus my enormous pup under the table. Our service was just absolutely amazing, food was fantastic, great vegetarian options as well which is hard to find! The waiter (i wish i could remember his name sorry!😭) was so so helpful, went above and beyond for the family, even helping one of our little ones who struggles with new foods and restaurants and giving my pup a treat to help calm him. Already recommended this place to multiple friends and we’ll be back in the future. All the family. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience 😊.

We were very pleased with our experience at the Dusty Miller from start to finish, all of the staff were friendly, smiling and enthusiastic. The atmosphere was warm and family friendly, with a pleasant, traditional pub vibe. We ordered the Trio Roast and the Beef roast, both of which were presented beautifully, were precisely the right amount of food, (too much for my lady friend, although she is incredibly petite) and was cooked precisely as a roast should be. To summarise, I will definitely be frequenting this establishment and rate it a solid 10/10. Thanks for having us guys x

First time coming back after I swore this place off but heard it's under new management and I was so surprised!! We did the 2 course for 20 and it felt like I was robbing the place!!! I had the mackerel with fennel salad (amazing combo, they gave me the recipe and I'll be doing it at my dinner parties!) And then the Italian burger - if you've never had tiggilo cheese, unreal!! Everyone has to go here and try it - if not for the food, do it for the staff, there so funny and friendly and you feel like family, I'm coming back next week 😉

For a restaurant that is so highly talked about I hoped for more. From chicken that was undercooked, to the "last bit of steak" being over cooked, the food was so disappointing. The staff were lovely and so is the place itself.

Really disappointed with the whole evening to be honest. The lady serving was on her own , behind the bar, cleaning tables, bringing food out. Manager sitting outside. Food was poor. Burger was way over done , all you could taste was charcoal and chips really over seasoned with salt. Plate of food left and northing said after saying its burnt. Shame as it our wedding anniversary today took a risk going somewhere new that never paid off. Really poor all round, home now making a sandwich 🥪 🤦‍♂️

We ate at the DM today 26/6 and even though the young lady, was serving solo in quite a busy pub she was brilliant,smiley and professional, would also like to compliment the chef we had the prawns for starters and Sea bass for main,both dishes were delicious and cooked to perfection. We had a groupon voucher no hassle all went as per the voucher. Well done Katy(I think that was the young girls name) well done Chef, Thank you.

Very disappointed of the food. I don't like to write the reviews often but wasn't very happy really. We have ordered two dishes of seabass and have half fillet of each portion only, lots of vegetables and few potatoes on the plate. Portion size was very small and how come charged for the dish nearly £20 included service. I don't think will go back again soon.

Had a fantastic buffet in the spacious garden area. Food was brilliant! Mini burgers, hotdogs and BBQ chicken wings out of this world. We had a mix of children and adults who all enjoyed the selection of food. The space outside with a stretch tent area and music was excellent for are end of season awards. The staff was fantastic, friendly and welcoming to all 60 of are group. Can’t thank Lukas and the team enough. We will definitely be back.

Staff training is obviously non existent, 2 pints took ten minutes, after working out how to use till. Was still charged over 20 pound for two beers, I said , I think that’s wrong. Food is hit or miss. It has plenty of potential, could be so much better.

Wonderful meal, thanking wonderful service from the kind Toaa and Oliwia. Couldn’t have been kinder. Great cocktails and super delicious food and couldn’t have been better. Will be back!

Thursday steak night. Steak and a drink at a reduced price. I had ribeye, medium rare. Came up cooked as asked for. Quiet evening, with good service.

A lovely place with lovely staff! Unfortunately the food was poor and service took a very long time, well over an hour for starters and almost another hour for mains! Fish was overcooked and practically burnt - and those who got fish and chips it tasted really floury and greasy. Probably won’t be back unless it’s for just a drink

Lovely quiet country pub vibes, food has always been amazing. Slightly disappointed with service as asked several times to two different servers for a drink which never arrived (luckily we wasn't charged for the drinks). Also our friend had his plate taken without being asked if he was finished. Apart from these little niggles we had a lovely time.

Great food unfortunately the service wasn’t great. From the time we arrive to the time we ordered was 1hour 20mins. We had booked a table aswell but they had given it to another family. free drink were offered but then still charged us for them no enough cutlery on the table and after asking for more took ages. Was asked if we wanted sauces we said yes and they never arrived It got to the point where the service ruined to food and atmosphere.

We were a party of 6 on Christmas Day. This was a first for us, never before dined out at Christmas. To say the food was disappointing is an understatement. I am not a serial google reviewer but as my daughter’s email, sent to the establishment on the 7th January, remains unanswered, it’s time for a review. I’m not going to go into details but just to say the quality of the food was awful. Our plates were piled high, concealing soft sweet tasting roast potatoes, over cooked carrots, some of us had parsnips but not all. Stuffing and sausage meat balls were in abundance. We had grandma with us and at the age of 95 she stared at the heap of food on her plate and said “oh I didn’t think food was served piled up like this anymore”. There were no extras, apart from cheap crackers. The serving staff were fine and they were the only reason that we didn’t remove the 12.5% added to our bill. We paid the £650 and left never to return again. Our message would be to concentrate on the quality rather than the quantity.

Went here last sunday on the 7th of Jan, in a group of 6 adults and a little one, the main courses where ok although a little bit of a wait, then the deserts were very poor . The cookie dough had very little cookie dough and packed out with chocolate rice crispies. We sent that back and got eton mess which then turned out to have no meringue in it. forgot some drinks multiple times - had to chase and had no apology when finally came.very disapointed.

We had a lovely family lunch at the Dusty Miller to celebrate our son's 21st birthday. The food was delicious and well-presented and the service excellent. Lovely cosy atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

Nice crockery and good food but service was very very disappointing. Mistakes with order, ages for second half of our group of seven to get their drinks. Servers didn’t seem to care. It was a Saturday lunchtime and not busy. Watch out for the compulsory 12.5% service charge they add too!! We won’t be returning purely due to the service and charge. A real shame as I suspect the owner is the chef.

No sandwiches available at lunchtime although it states that there is a sandwich menu on the website. Ordered 2 pub classics for £25, my Chicken Burger was overcooked and although edible it wasn't enjoyable. We were then overcharged and had to query the bill. Nice looking pub and pleasant service just not the best food.

Had the Christmas menu group of 8 ,and it was the worst meal we've had , the sea bass was over cooked on a plate of lettuce and the chef forgot to put the butternut squash on , starters and mains were all very poor. ,after reading the reviews I cant believe how bad this meal was don't waste your time or money going here there are much better places to eat in harlow

As usual, an absolute delight. Harlow has many wondrful places to dine. This is one of them. Well done to the management for retaining a unique and homely feel to this pub. Excellent food options. Large servings and excellently cooked. Well done!

The food was absolutely fantastic. The menu is varied and uncomplicated (in a good way), you know what the dishes are. The quality of the steak was very good. I highly recommend the burger and lobster. It's worth every calorie! The prices were reasonable, and the portions were large. The staff make you feel really welcome and the place had a homely feel. I spied some dog biscuits on the counter, so I believe they are dog friendly, too.

Mid week so not much atmosphere. Very expensive but good food.

After searching for a suitable venue for our engagement party for weeks, we finally decided on The Dusty Miller and I’m very glad we did. Lukasz and the whole team at The Dusty Miller were friendly, helpful and a pleasure to deal with from the start. Our requests were all met and they worked to give us an amazing day. We were able to decorate how we wanted, play the music we wanted and run the day how we wanted! The food and drink was all lovely with all of our guests being well looked after all day. If you’re looking for an event venue I highly recommend The Dusty Miller!

Love this place, food is delicious, portions are generous and staff are always on hand to help. A bit more expensive than your average restaurant but this isn't just an average restaurant so happy to pay a bit extra.

Went here for Sunday lunch and everything was great : excellent food, efficient service, lovely location - I highly recommend, I left very full and satisfied!

Very nice food. The staff are very nice and our waitress Amelia was impeccable!

Jokes. Advertised open till 11pm on a Saturday night but got kicked out at 9pm as staff wanted to close early due to only a few people drinking. Avoid. Ended up going to Mooorhen as luckily they stick to their closing times otherwise waste of an eve out on a Saturday eating and drinking with friends. I commented this on their Facebook page which they immediately removed and then blocked me. Poor service Dusty Miller.

I had a great lunch with an old friend the other day. The dusty miller is the perfect place to spend your afternoon. However, the atmosphere was better under the old ownership, when I was part of their team. On a positive note, the food has improved considerably in quality since I left. I had a lovely steak sandwich, which I devoured with ease. Amelia was fantastic as always, and the service is still top-notch. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend or someone new to Harlow.

Too hungry for the picture, lol. BUT had the Trio Sunday Roast and it was utterly delicious! Every ingredient on that was fresh and perfectly seasoned. The chicken was particularly nicely done, juicy and tasty. It is a filling dish. No space for dessert, sadly. I’ll be back to try the sticky toffee for sure!

Very small place, our table was totally crammed in ,we had to walk side ways trying not to knock the people or items on the tables around us . Coffee machine was randomly by our table and was constantly getting banged and bashed. The starters arrived After the mains...and the mains were slow so not sure how they managed that. For all the negatives definitely isn't worth the price they are charging .

We had a lovely meal here last night. There were plenty of dishes to choose from between the main and specials menu. All plates were plentiful and full of flavour. We were looked after very well by two young ladies and Amelia was extremely helpful to us newbies. Nothing was too much trouble at all. We will definitely be back soon and the Dusty Miller may become our regular choice for dining out. Well done, keep it up! X

Had a lovely family Sunday lunch in a large group of 8, very generous portions and also very good with our two small dogs. Excellent and family friendly, we will be back as the service was superb too.

It was a bit quiet - but they let us stay to use the table for work too. Attentive enough worked out well. Didnt have that "this is a nice place vibe" and the hand drier registered 100dB on my watch!

An adhoc visit turned out to be a tasty treat for all the family. Food choice and execution was fantastic. Portion sizes do not disappoint and super tasty.

Have often passed the Dusty Miller without the opportunity to stop. Did so today with some friends; menu was varied and inviting (although the dessert menu could benefit with an addition). Music was piped through to the garden and we asked for it to be turned down; and it was. Service was brilliant; really made to feel welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. Would happily stop more often and recommend to friends.

4 of us chose this place after a round of golf nearby. We were told the kitchen was closed but when we said we were hungry Damian (chef) and Sophie kindly invited us in and made an amazing dinner for us! Superb attitude and great food with nice drinks selection, will definitely be back - thank you again 😊

Lovely meal at the Dusty Miller - our first since it has changed hands. Staff were all very friendly, personable and accommodating. The garden is beautifully done We all had the trio roast which was delicious - I don't know if it was because we were the last order of the day but the portion was substantial and the Yorkshire (which is always one thing I dread at restaurants because if is it done badly it ruins my meal) was perfect. Only thing that I probably wouldn't go for again, and that may be due to the end of the day, was the cauliflower cheese which was very overdone. It had a nice flavour but was really mushy. Very dog friendly as well which is nice. A great local gem and look forward to going back. Thank you!

Sadly we won’t be returning, the drinks were great, the starters (nachos and the pork belly bites) lovely, but our main meals were very poor. The sea bass dish really needs working on and the fish was over cooked, I really think you should re model the entire dish. I ordered a chicken and bacon salad, the chicken was dry and just came with spinach leaves and bought in avocado mix on top, I had to ask for balsamic vinaigrette just to perk it up abit. The staff were lovely but they were training a new member of staff when the pub was busy, we just over heard everything I felt like I was being trained to work there just slightly unprofessional. Disappointing as we really wanted to like it as it’s has new ownership but it let us down. Sorry!

Different since the pub changed hands. It's very dog friendly and more of a pub than a restaurant compared to what it used to be. Lovely staff and very accommodating landlord.

Nice tasty food, good quick service , only thing is they automatically put service charge on the bills with out stating this at the time of booking or the time of paying bill ,I could hear a few tables bringing this issue up when looking at there bills this should be mentioned to people at time of payment or booking

Best meal I’ve had in AGES! We had dinner for 4 tonight and the quality of food was fantastic - smoked haddock, roast potatoes and veg very tasty, fillet steak fantastic. REALLY good creme brulee for dessert, pate and bresaola carpaccio starters superb. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back for more!

A group of 10 of us landed there at half 6 on Saturday night without booking ahead, and they made room for us. The food was amazing, all the staff were really friendly and helpful. We're meeting up again in May and will definitely be going there again, although this time we will book! 😋

We sat in the corner crammed in especially when the next table to us was seated. The lighting in the restaurant is awful.. making it dark and dingy..reminding me of an old fashioned station waiting room. My dover sole was greasy ....desert menu uninspiring...3 different types of cheese cake....but no cheese. Very expensive. over £55 per head.

Love coming here! Food is always amazing and the service second to none! New owners are doing great and are very accommodating. Lovely little pub, very cosy and friendly. Can’t wait for the summer when we can sit outside. Would highly recommend. Just rebooked for next week!

Disappointing. Way over priced for a bang average roast , few veg , 3 tiny potatoes and literally a slither of lamb , all piled up to make it look bigger but was absolutely tiny. Staff were nice but pretty clueless. Come on for that price just do a proper portion of meat! Tasted average aswell nothing special either.

Lovely Saturday lunch with friends. The fire was on and it was very cosy. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I was pleased with the menu, something for everyone. We will definitely be back.

Haven't eaten here but stopped off for a bottle of wine big beer garden with loads of seating but I feel the place is missing a trick not having a play area at the bottom of the garden maybe
