Dusk in Mansfield

Atmosphere is bad completely dead dj can’t make a good playlist or carry on good song it’s not like how it use to be when it was after dark gone down hill badly

My friend and colleague was in Mansfield last Friday along with a group of friends. On walking onto Clumber Street half of his group were approaching the door to enter Dusk. A young female who was offering promotion vouchers approached the group which my friend was part of, on seeing them pulled back the voucher, before commenting "too old" my friend was at the least gobsmacked that this comment was made, especially as there was around 14 of them. It seems that ageism is indeed alive and well in the night scene in town. And obviously the venue are happy to turn away a large group of "older" drinkers who would have boosted their sales as on him walking past noticed that the club was somewhat empty at that time . Perhaps management need to be reminded that ageism is illegal, so perhaps need to remind their staff, that such comments are not only annoying, to some people upsetting, but also illegal. And this could be used against them. The one star was given as the lowest available, as for the others, obviously due the group not entering the venue couldn't comment.

Enjoyed the dinner with friend and family. Food made fresh and tasted good, busy place but served quick. Kids enjoyed the play sheets available at the Pub, did puzzle and sketch. Drinks served cold and seating area was comfortable. It’s in the main junction so have to park car at hill and walk down the street.

was ok music was good company was good drink was good bar staff was great but the games of beer ponk was a bit disgusting and the ball went on floor and then in beer so not the greatest of games to play

Horrendous woman manager not a clue in customer service or management. How she gained this position i will never know..

Enjoyed my night there. Loved it as it was my 20th birthday so I really enjoyed it. Even if it wasn't my birthday I would of enjoyed my night there.

Long wait to get ìn. Less than a meter apart wiring for more than 30 mins. Not safe.

Always a great night. Shame dance floor is very slippery.

Doormen couldn't care less who they let in and don't I.D. anyone. The bar has a minimum charge of £10 on card but has zero signage to say as much so pretty much they wait till you've ordered a drink then tell you you need order another 2. Too expensive and music is played so loud the speakers blew out a long long time ago.

Floor is sticky, rude people, and prices are a little high. However it does have a good atmosphere

Well run, nice atmosphere. Bar and security staff efficient, friendly and helpful. Loud music (good) and plenty of space to dance. Toilets clean but out of paper before the end of the night. Good selection of drinks. Plenty of comfortable seating

Great place to go for a few shots and a night of fun. Security team that where on thursday where friendly. However... Please understand that this is not a complaint about afterdark but nightclubs in general! Like any crowded place dont let any possessions out of your site. Also bear in mind people bump into you a lot so pickpocketing is easy there. Ladies would highly suggest phone stays in the bra for safety

Free entry; but don't let that fool you into thinking visiting it will be any cheaper than any other club. Good music, good security, horrendous toilets, packed smoking area and dance floor. Although that just about describes every other club. Thats what After Dark is; just another club, with one little difference, the entry is free.

Beware of the Security staff. Upon entering After Dark after a lovely meal elsewhere, purchasing a drink and deciding to present the DJ with a song request - We were told by a very angry “doorman” that DJ song requests were not something that they could facilitate. Before we could turn and walk away, the “doorman” in question gave another two members of staff a nod followed by a vicious attack upon myself (Commercial Consultant), my husband (Plant Operations Manager), brother (Engineer) and friend (Teacher). I was kicked in the back of the leg and pushed to the ground where the “doorman” proceeded to push my head with such force into a step that my left temple was badly bruised, my knee completely skinned and index finger nail was completely ripped off, My friend was thrown out of the fire exit without her belongings. My husband's back was left bleeding and bruised as he was also attached from behind, shirt completely ripped off. My brother was the most effected as he was also kicked to the floor, repeatedly punched by at least two of these “doormen” to such an extent that he was curled into a ball on the floor, receiving multiple blows to his face until he stopped resisting. This was all recorded by the CCTV Camera yet no action was taken whatsoever. Since moving to the area in 2016, I have heard through multiple sources that this is a regular occurrence - so i will be sure to never recommend After Dark to anyone. I strongly recommend that management reconsider the hiring of aggressive, obnoxious "Doormen". An absolute disgrace.

Not a bad stop by on a night out, although drinks are extortionate and the staff don't really give a damn.

Incredibly rude promoter, walked past her after already being in and made incredibly rude comments to me and my friend after saying no sorry, will not be going in, incident happened at 1am 17/09/2017
