Pity, the food was tasteless and cost £66 for 3 starters and one main course - lunch time visit. We won't be back again when we visit Edinburgh.

Fantastic Thai food. Shellfish was very good. Chose to visit at a quiet time.

Superb restaurant, great food and very friendly staff. One of the most enjoyable Thai meals we have had, and we've had quite a few! We went for the banquet at a very reasonable price and could not come close to finishing all dishes. The selection of starters, all served with their various accompanying sauces were very tasty, especially the Thai beef salad! The mains (we chose the duck, king prawn and chicken, served with both rice and noodles were also very tasty and high quality. Their house wine selection was also at a very reasonable price and was good quality.

Thank you for looking after us so well, such attentive service. Food was delicious, great atmosphere and look forward to returning.

Wow..we came across this restaurant on day 1 of our Edinburgh trip. Looking for an evening meal. From the offset the welcome given by the staff, intricate details such as taking our coats. Providing water. After we placed our orders and chosen drinks the staff were constantly attentive. Prior to the food arriving, the plates were brought to the table warm. Real folded napkins also. The starter of chicken satay was divine, beautifully presented. The flavors were perfect. The table was cleaned before our mains arrived & again when ice had melted on it. Once again, new cutlery and warm plates before our mains. One dish had a fab rose in a little vase on the side. The pad thai was fully of succelent chicken. The steak teriyaki was full of fresh flavours. We were once again surrounded by very attentive staff. The restaurant is so clean & the entire group of staff were friendly and courteous.

So pleased they could squeeze us in at last minute. the food came with quantity and quality. Flavours were amazing!

What a place! Great ambiance, exceptional service, & mouth-watering food. We ordered their banquet menu and thoroughly enjoyed everything. Starters were my favourite! Out of the three mains stir fry beef was my favourite. We ordered two diet cokes and finished the meal with their green tea. Total was 42£ each but so worth it.

Delightful set lunch menu, very tasty Thai food, choose carefully as many are well spicy. Delicious though and absolutely superb courteous service from Thai staff.

We went to have lunch here without reservation but they still let us walk in. The waitress here was super nice, she helped us a lot in choosing our food. The food was superrrr good. Highly recommend if you want to try Thai cuisine!

The pictures I took of the food definitely don't do it justice. This was our favorite meal in Edinburgh and possibly the best Thai food I've ever had. The service was fantastic and the food was so fresh and flavorful. We got the duck appetizer, specialty curry, and pad thai - all recommendations from our waitress which we were very happy we followed!

Probably the best Thai I've ever been to. The food was excellent - fresh and delicious and the service exceptional and fast. A must-visit.

My wife and I visited this restaurant yesterday and we opted for the two course lunch menu costing £16.95 per person. We started with chicken satay and the filo parcels and had the creamy chicken curry, stir fried beef all served with sticky rice. All the dishes were cooked to perfection, they were fresh and beautifully presented. Additionally, the plates were very large and plentiful particularly for a lunch time deal. At £16.95 for two courses this is a really good deal. The staff are very attentive, polite and professional and the ambiance is modern and bright. The but... comes from the price of their drink; to charge £7.80 for a small glass of sauvignon blanc and £4.90 for a small bottle of Singha in my opinion a bit OTT. Despite my last comment we shall return and would recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant was AMAZING! From start to finish, our experience was wonderful. The staff were very thoughtful and made the dining experience very special. Definitely book a reservation ahead of time. It is a very popular restaurant and was completely full while we were there. We were very excited to visit Dusit after seeing the restaurant on many top dining lists. It has a reputation for being the best Thai food in Edinburgh and honestly has earned it. The food was absolutely delicious. We'd definitely visit Dusit again for dinner if we're ever in Edinburgh. Highly recommend.

What a restaurant! The best Thai banquet we have ever had. After a long day flying up to Edinburgh and checking into our hotel we needed somewhere special to eat. Local friends had said Dusit is the tops - and so it proved to be. The table was reserved months ago because it was the Calcutta Cup Weekend - but our table was ready on time. We had the feast which was a huge choice of starters - eacah with its own specially prepared sauce and then a choice of three main courses - all to share, topped up with fluffy rice and a great bowl of noodles. Such friendly helpful staff on hand to keep us topped up with Singa beer. The best start possible to a long weekend in Edinburgh and the best of places to try Thai food., It was a wow!

Lovely atmosphere, attentive service, clean and great looking place and most importantly authentic and delicious food ! Loved every second of our stay, especially the price at the end! Me and my husband shared 9 different items between us including 2 starters, 4 mains, 2 bowls of rice and a dessert and all come to 66 pounds! My husband is Thai and he was so pleased with the whole experience! Thank you to all lovely staff and your contribution - first day in Edinburgh and you all helped to make it unforgettable!

I was spending 2 nights at the end of January 2024 in Edinburgh and decided that I would have a meal at Dusit on the Sunday evening. I called the restaurant a week before to book a table because they are always very busy. I was very surprised when I arrived at the restaurant to discover that they did not have a booking for me!!! It was not a problem fortunately as I was shown to a table. Drinks order placed I looked over the extensive Menu and was undecided about to different Stir Fry King Prawn dishes. The lovely waitress who was looking after me was happy to offer advice. I decided to go along with her suggestion and I was most certainly not disappointed. My meal which I had with Egg Fried Rice was absolutely delicious. I always like to have my meal with a rice bowl and chop sticks so all very enjoyable. Once again a lovely meal in this lovely little restaurant. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. A little word of warning in case you do not check your bills well and that is that they have now started to charge customers a 10 percent service charge which I was surprised about because when I previously visited in May 2023 this was not automatically added to my bill. I really prefer to leave a cash tip for the staff to ensure they get it. I certainly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy Thai food and I will most certainly be back next time a visit Edinburgh.

Popped in by chance for dinner with no reservation on Monday evening, greeted by owner and staff very politely. Restaurant was able to accommodate us as another booking was running late and was asked if they would be able to have table back in 2hrs. This was not an issue with me and we had more than enough time to browse menu, discuss menu choices with staff and recommendations and have a glass of wine. Our menu choices consisted of papaya salad, cashew chicken, seafood and basil stir fry with jasmine rice. Ambience is very relaxing, dining room wasn’t over packed with tables, very polite and attentive staff. Well recommended, thank you for accommodating us.

Wow! Simply one of the best if not the best Thai meals we’ve ever had! The service was wonderful but the food was even better - it was outstanding. The spicing was just perfect and we can honestly say every mouthful was a delight. How this restaurant has had some poor feedback I’ll never know.

It's unfortunate that the restaurant has served us with pre-cooked chicken satay & fish cake. The food come fast but with low quality. Overall the food is not very authentic Thai food.

I think this is my third time here and I just know it was going to be great. I had some of the banquet starter which is was tasty. I tried the keow wan pad Thai haeng and it was delicious. The right amount of spice and it was deliciously. I had 3/4 of it and wish I could eat more but I was so full. Staff were as attentive as always. Definitely the best Thai restaurant in Scotland!

We were greeted with a very warm welcome on arrival. As new to Thai food, we chose the banquet meal. The starter was excellent as were the 3 main dishes. We were not able to finish all the food. The staff were most attentive during the meal and happy to offer advice. Overall a great night and we would recommend this friendly restuarant

The atmosphere is calm and welcoming. The staff are incredibly hospitable and friendly, warm smiles all round. Dusit specialise in Contemporary Thai food which is a delightful fusion of traditional flavours and innovative culinary techniques. Drawing from a rich tapestry of herbs, spices, and fresh ingredients, their contemporary menu embodies a harmonious balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavours. Their dishes are vibrant with captivating aromas, showcasing a diverse range of textures and bold combinations and the presentation is visually stunning. The menu starts off with Thai Salads and Appetisers then onto Curries, Wok fried dishes, Chef Recommendations and the Dusit Banquet Menu (very helpful when you have no idea what to choose or you want to eat everything on the menu!) There was six of us out for dinner. Here are a list of some of the dishes that we ordered. Kanom Jeep – Secret Love. This is most well known as Chinese dumpling. Wonton parcels filled with ground pork and prawns £7.95 Song Pi Nong – Two Brothers. King Prawns two styles – first, Japanese style crispy tempura prawns and second, prawns seasoned with coriander and individually wrapped in filo parcels £8.50 Popia Ped. Marinated duck spring rolls served with hoisin sauce £8.50 My order was the Satay Gai – Made Up Hen. Chicken breast marinated with Asian spices, skewered on bamboo sticks and cooked slowly over the charcoals. Served with peanut sauce and cucumber relish £7.95. I enjoyed this dish was it was underwhelming. I had hoped for more chargrilled flavour from the chicken as its cooked over charcoals and the satay sauce really lacked peanut flavour. However, the chicken was succulent and soft and there was a good amount of satay sauce provided. Again a variety of predominantly curries where ordered and we all had a wee taste from everyones dishes. All dishes are served sharing style. Gaeng Keow Wan – the famous Thai green curry. Chicken, Beef, Duck or Prawns available from £14.50. Dusit Curry. Succulent marinated 8oz sirloin steak, chargrilled and served in a magical red curry sauce £18.50 Gaeng Massaman. This is a rich, relatively mild Thai–Muslim curry with nuts. Lamb Shank or Chicken £14.50 I went for the Massaman Curry. Whilst it was a good curry, it really lacked a nice spicy hit for me. I am not of fan of full on spice heat but I expected this to have layers of subtle heat slowly building in your mouth. I felt it was quite one dimensional and overall lacked the dynamic bold flavours of Thai cuisine. Coconut rice, plain rice and rotis were all shared across the table. Most dishes on the menu come with a wee chilli rating. I went for one chilli, so perhaps my next visit needs to be a two chilli order, for me to get that Thai flavour hit I want. Overall, Dusit is a great Thai restaurant. Everyone on my table thoroughly enjoyed their meals as did I. The dishes are well executed and presented and you can see the passion and expertise in each dish.

Managed to luckily get a table as a walk in, we visited Edinburgh for the weekend and due to a flight delay looked for somewhere local, we’ve visited Thailand over 30 times so we’re a bit fussy with Thai restaurants outside of the country. We try to see where has Thai staff and a good test is the fish cakes, if they are perfectly round it normally means they are shop bought. So it was wonderful to have a restaurant fully run by Thais and home made fish cakes. We have the banquet option which gave us a taste of most of what we like (plus added fish cakes 😊). Everything was wonderful aroi mak mak very tasty and we had more than we could deal with. Staff were so friendly and had time for a quick chat in which was a busy sitting. Without any question, if you like Thai food, you must try it. 🙏🏻

The place is good if you like Thai food. A little expensive for the taste and ambience.

We recently visited dusit in Edinburgh for the first time and it was a great first experience. We were lucky enough to get a booking on a busy Friday evening with no plans made already we came across this on trip advisor. They were very accommodating to fit us in on a busy evening. It is located just behind George street so very central and easy to get to. We were greeted on arrival by a few members of really friendly staff who offered to take our coats and show us to our table. Really nice decor inside and there is a great selection of wines and beers. We ordered the chicken satay skewers, duck spring rolls and the massamam curry. It was all ordered and prepared so quickly. The meal was amazing and the staff so attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is visiting Edinburgh. Really great value for money for a really enjoyable experience.

La comida absolutamente deliciosa, muy abundante (pedimos un curry y otra de las especialidades de wok) y con el toque justo de picante. El servicio y la atención fabulosos. El personal es muy, muy atento y está pendiente del cliente todo el rato. Para repetir y seguir explorando su carta llena de propuestas seguramente deliciosas.

We contacted late in the afternoon to book a table for 12, and got a booking which is always hard to get due to party size. The resturant smelt amazing as you entered, you couldn't help look at customers food while being shown to your table. Every single dish ordered by our group was outstanding 👌 👏 🙌 Lots of the party commented on the rice and how they could eat just a bowl of it in its on it was that delicious. Staff where very friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend, we will definitely be back.

Lovely tasty dishes and really efficient service e by all of the staff. The only downside for us was that we were seated at the first table the entrance and so felt that we’re in the middle of a walkway. My advice would be to specify that you want to be seated further down the restaurant when booking

First class experience. Excellent service and food was top notch. We had two course lunch, all dishes extremely tasty and portion sizes were huge. Highly recommend!

Good ingredients, similar flavours. We got 4 a la carte main dishes and two each tasted remarkably similar (tofu steak satay and the Dusit (red) curry; two of the wok dishes). All dishes were pretty sweet (and could have done with a good spritz of lime). Maybe we ordered wrong but overall we were underwhelmed by the taste experience (or, rather, the lack of variety). The papaya salad (spicy!) and moneybags starter were very nice.

Very enjoyable. I went here with work colleagues while visiting Edinburgh and can honestly say the food tasted fantastic. Lots of choice, very rich and full bodied flavours, and what felt like ideal portion sizes. The service can't be faulted, it was very friendly and effective. I'd recommend this for anyone who likes Thai food

We had a lovely mid week lunch in Dusit. We went for a Thai meal in a restaurant just up the road a few weeks back and were really disappointed by the food however we really could not fault anything about Dusit. The staff were so friendly and efficient and the food was really well presented. We ate off a set lunch menu which was really great value for money. Sometimes lunch menus can mean small portions but this was not the case, the meals were ample and so tasty. Dusit is a small restaurant, we did not reserve a table but thankfully we got the last table for 2 available in the restaurant so I would recommend booking in advance. We had a good laugh with one of the waitresses as I know "thank you" in Thai but absolutely nothing else so she started to teach me more useful phrases... We will definitely be back

After two weeks in the UK, it’s Thai food time! 🤣 Heard about Dusit restaurant serving authentic Thai cuisine in Edinburgh, so we decided to give it a try. The place was packed, allowing us only 30 minutes, but the taste was undeniably authentic! Some ingredient substitutions were there (like broccoli instead of Kai Lan), but the flavors transported me back to Thailand. Had a chat with the friendly staff who explained the challenges of sourcing specific Thai vegetables. Overall, it was a delicious Thai experience! 🌶️🍜

I've been to Dusit three times now, and the first two times I was blown away by its "vegan" tofu panang curry, which I was assured was vegan the first two times I went. The third time, I went to order it, and was told all the curry pastes contain shrimp paste. The server was really certain about this. Luckily, I don't have an allergy to shellfish, but that could kill someone so I'm pretty disturbed by the misinformation on my first two visits. I'd love some clarity about whether there's shrimp paste in all the curries. If so, I'll unfortunately not be coming back.

We loved it, the staff was very friendly and the food was just spectacular. Tasted like the food we had in Thailand, which is an achievement in itself when the restaurant is based in the UK :)

Best Thai food outside Thailand, love love love this place

Super busy, even on a Monday evening, we managed to get the last table available. Quite cosy in there with tables close together, but the food and service was first class. Will visit again when working in Edinburgh.

There were 7 of us so Dusit kindly arranged a beautiful round table downstairs. It was fantastic and our waiter could not have been kinder or more helpful. We ordered the banquet menu which was just delicious every dish was wow so yummy and fresh....

The food is great especially the tom yum. Atmosphere is great. However, we were chased out at 8.10 pm despite being told that we would have the table until 8.30 pm when booking was made just because the next booking arrived earlier.

My colleague and stumbled upon this place and were absolutely blown away. Incredible food that we couldn't stop talking about a week later - well into other places on our European tour. I really wish we had upscale Thai like this where I live. If you're in Edinburgh and love Thai food, this is a can't miss.

All staffs are friendly and nice. In a way, most menus are very authentic foods and taste. But I wasn’t sure this is really delicious, I feel something is missing in food.

Delicious thai food with the right amount of fragance, spices and heat. We had the banquet menu, everything was just delicious. There was a lot of food, too much for us to eat it all. We had the private room downstairs which was a little dark and lacked atmosphere but other than that everything was just lovely.

Great food, amazing service. We just shared a Larb Gai, Kua Kling and Pad Thai. The larb was a bit dry and lacked a bit of heat but the others were fantastic. Just be aware they add their own service fee to the bill. Not sure if that is standard here or not but they were so attentive it was tough to have an issue with it either way. Great spot. Glad we visited.

Been here lots and always fantastic service and food. Don’t know what was wrong on Friday night with the staff but never have I seen such a fast service. Such a shame as the table was booked for a 2 hour slot not 1 hour 15 ! We’ll be back though. Keep producing great and delicious food, just calm down and let us enjoy it.
