A small group of us came here for lunch as some of the group were playing Golf. Lovely big airy restaurant with gorgeous views down to the sea. We looked at the menu- fantastic choices and reasonably priced too . The restaurant was spotless. Food arrived and every one of us enjoyed . Couple of us sat on and enjoyed a few drinks, while the golfers went out and hit a few balls. Loved it - lovely staff too! We will be happy to visit again :)

After a great morning walking in the Galloway Forest, we called in at the CatStrand. Wow, what a gem of a place.its a gift shop with interesting books and art. But the best surprise is the cafe. Serving the best haggis and baked potato ever! We have called their butcher to buy more haggis. They have a nice selection of local beers to wash down a haggis lunch Also, check out their entertainment evenings. We will be back!

In the area for a few days and popped into The Anglers for lunch. Beautiful entrance and restaurant well appointed, beautifully decorated and pristine. Warm welcome from the staff who were very attentive. Very appealing menu to cater for all tastes. Food fantastic and plentiful. Reasonable prices for the quality on offer. Toilets immaculate. Cannot recommend this place highly enough and would visit again if in the area. Superb!

This cafe served the worst scone I have ever had / didn't have. (and that's saying something as I'm in my 70s and have had a few in my time. You could build a house with a few of them. Inedible expensive rubbish. It came in a paper bag, no plate and a wooden disposable knife which struggled to cut it. The coffee was served in a paper cup. But was drinkable. Cost over £13 for two coffees and two inedible scones. I am disgusted and will definitely won't be back
