The best fish and chips I have had in years. Excellent service

Food was ok. Tiny portion. But….£8 for a small glass of wine!?!? I ordered roast beef. One giant Yorkshire pudding. About a potato worth of roast potatoes. A handful of mixed boiled veg. Two slices of beef. A small glass of house red wine.

Spent 2 nights at the Dunavon in March. This hotel is a little hidden gem and the staff were brilliant, special thank you to Stuart and Rodney for your assistance, the room was spotless and the breakfast was delightful and I will definitely be returning. I have stayed at other hotels in the area but this by far the best. If you are thinking of booking this hotel do not hesitate.

I have to highly recommend the Dunavon House Hotel. We spoke to Stuart Rattray last year about using their hotel as the venue for our wedding. We had a few meetings with Stuart to organise everything and nothing was too much for them. We set our date 1 March 2024. On the day all I can say is that Stuart and his team were superb and the day went without a hitch. The setting up of each part of the day was slick and stress free. The food was sublime and the attention from all the staff was top class. I cannot thank and praise them enough for such a wonderful day and evening. Highly recommend for any event that you may have.

Good choice of food and all reasonably priced. Chips were a disappointment, but everything else was good. Service was good and is a nice restaurant.

Dunavon is a go-to eatery for our family - we've had many get-togethers in the restaurant; the food is always delicious and the staff absolutely lovely.

Went to Dunavon Hotel for a surprise birthday party. Food was excellent and great value, service was also excellent. From helping to arrange the night out to decorating the area, nothing was a problem for the staff. Would definitely recommend the Dunavon to others

Had a superb lunch yesterday with a relative who was very worried about wheelchair access having had many difficulties in various other venues. Parking was easy with designated spaces and access to the dining room from the outdoor entrances was easy to negotiate. The dining area is spacious with plenty room between tables for a wheelchair. We felt totally relaxed and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful So with excellent food and service and easy access , we had a lovely lunch. I wanted to highlight the easy disabled access for anyone in a similar position where other past experiences have been difficult

The food choices were very good the food was delicious. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The rooms are basic but clean beds not so comfy.

We had a 3 course meal there on Christmas Eve, it was absolutely awesome! The food was delicious and cooked to perfection, the staff were brilliant, the restaurant is beautiful.

Was here for my works Christmas lunch on Friday 15th December (63 of us) and what excellent service we had. The food was also excellent. It was all nice and relaxed and there was no pushing us to get out when the food was finished. Will certainly be back again next year. Well done to all working here.

I was only there after a funeral for finger buffet. I have been here again for a funeral and the service was as good as before.

Every year we go to the Dunavon for our family Christmas party. There is normally around 40 of us and we have a sit down meal, some games and a dance. The staff are incredible and really do add to the family feel of the day. It also helps that the food is outstanding. I would highly recommend having a private function here.

We held a 70th birthday party at the Dunavon House Hotel on Saturday night from the first phone call with Julia about the event to the day of the event the staff was always friendly and helpful nothing was too much for them everyone who attended the event was complimenting on how good the food was and how nice the Venue is we will definitely coming back here

Wow! Dunavon Restaurant is a place to be recommended to enjoy a first class meal. Its surroundings are modern, clean and homely. The staff are efficient and friendly. We held our Diamond Wedding celebrations there (29 Adults and 3 children) at the weekend and everything went like clockwork. We give it 10/10 worth a try. M&H Moir Dyce.

The room and location were generally OK , just your average room but the night we booked the man at the desk asked us if we would like to be woken up. We had a flight very early so we agreed. He did not. I'm writing this review because we are waiting for a reschedule and I'm bored. Thanks dunavon

Practicably perfect in every way. The food is delicious- the chef and kitchen team really know what they’re doing. The service is friendly and lacks nothing. Rooms vary in size but the cleanliness, presentation and comfort are all 5 stars.

We were a group of 12 on a golf trip to the north-east and the Dunavon was an ideal choice with free golf at Newmachar Golf Club included in the room rate. We also dined in the hotel and had excellent meals on both evenings. Overall the standard of food and accommodation was first rate and our group were also very impressed with the service provided by the hotel staff. Will definitely be back.

This is a really lovely hotel. The rooms are very pleasant, lovely breakfast and restaurant too. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Overall a really great place to stay! 5min walk from Dyce train station which is a 9min train ride into central Aberdeen.

Great place to meet friends and family, helpful staff

Handy for the airport. Popped in for a bite to eat and the food was delightful, the staff friendly and accomodating. It has a wide variety of food. A good and honest place that deserves credit. Not the most glamourous setting by far, but it gives the sense of a reliable and honest place.

The staff and service here are absolutely spot on. The location is ideal with the train station only 5 minutes walking distance. The food here is popular and good. The only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is the smell of damp in the room.

Visited twice in the last two months, once for a pre concert meal & overnight stay and the other for a meal with friends. Great atmosphere with clean, comfortable surroundings. Food and service was excellent. I would highly recommend and plan to visit again soon. Thank you!

Good medium sized hotel, clean rooms, really good food, and within easy walking distance of Dyce train station, local shops and a short drive from airport.

Visited the Dunavon House Hotel with my daughter and son in law for mothers day. Ate a delicious meal of roast beef, roasties and veg etc with extra gravy, lovely!! Great service, lovely decor. Obviously a very popular place, well worth a visit.

Drove all the way here to be told its for people that have a room at the hotel! Waste of time and a drive.

We visit here, at least once a month as we live in close proximity to the restaurant! We have not needed to try the rooms however, we believe they are in a good state! The food is absolutely delicious and a very decent price! We recommend this restaurant to every single person who is open to suggestions!

3 of us had dinner here for the first time recently. I must say it was pretty good. Theer were plenty of choices for meat and fish eaters (vegetarians might be less fortunate) I had the tempura prawns and calamari as starter. They were really nicely cooked, For main I had the rack of pork ribs - a very sizeable portion with the succulent meat just falling off the bone. I would have liked the fries to have been a bit crisper though.

Came here for lunch on a Tuesday early afternoon for our lunch before heading to the airport to catch our flight back home to Norway. Excellent choice and we will definitely come back! Nice decor/ambience, friendly staff and great food at a decent price. We had fish & chips and a steak burger. Generous portions and very tasty. Highly recommended!

Restaurante good food, very good service staff

The food in this place is really nice and the staff are both attentive and pleasant. We were a large party but the food was served in good time, no rush no fuss. Very enjoyable and high recommended.

Lovely, quiet hotel. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Cannot comment on the the food as I arrived too late to take advantage of the evening menu. Ideally located for offshore workers who fly from the 'south side' of Aberdeen airport. ie not Bristows or CHC Scotia. Very quiet in the evenings.

Great Food, menu and consistent quality, again and again simply best food in Dyce and beyond area by far

We were in the area for a wedding on the Saturday, but didn't want to pay the exorbitant price for the wedding venue on the Friday night. So we found the Dunavon, and what a find! We were allocated room 6 on the ground floor, and it was lovely. A bay window overlooking the front of the front of the hotel, tastefully decorated and really comfortable. The shower was a bit iffy, but the luxurious towels made up for it. The breakfast was delicious and very relaxed, with a decent choice of cereals, fruit etc. and an excellent full Scottish (and coffee on tap!) We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel if you are in the area, and we will hopefully be back at some time in the future. And the value for money is just unbelievable!

Group of four going for dinner before Kevin Bridges. All really enjoyed their food and I especially enjoyed the home made Steak Pie which was immense. If you can find out when the chef is making pies for the specials menu I would eat there just for that alone! :-)

So pleased with the food we were served in this newly discovered gem! The food was perfectly presented, extremely delicious & a generous portion. The chips were probably the best I’ve tasted! My only slight critique would be the length of time it took to be served, however all staff were lovely & friendly. We will definitely be back!

We have been to this Hotel on many occasions. This time seemed very dull and the Hotel smelt damp ?????. Breakfast was shocking in fact it was that bad we never had any the second day, you could have broken your teeth on some of the items that were on the plate. We went elsewhere the second night for dinner as the food was cold. Shame it was a lovely Hotel before. Don't think I will be back

We were looking forward to a visit as this was rated highly on TripAdvisor. Seemed fine initially, place was busy enough, but went downhill once the food arrived. Fish and chips were greasy,batter on fish was the worse I'd tasted. When I complained, I was told that the fish and chips are always served greasy. I was offered a replacement fish and chips, but refused on this explanation. Chose chicken curry, which was disappointingly tasteless. Even the poppadom had been cooked in cold fat. Can't recommend this to anyone.

We decided to visit on Sunday lunchtime. When we arrived pleasantly surprised it was very quiet. Apart from 1 table of six and another table of two and later after us another table joined of two. We ordered our meal very quickly. Downhill from there. Our “ciabatta toast with garlic and mozzarella took half an hour and that’s after asking for it. Once it did arrive it very extremely clear it had been thrown on and taken out in second as it was warm bread. I then had to ask the waitress to take away our plates hinting we were ready for our mains. We waited and waited but finally gave up the ghost when a table who arrived much later than us received their mains first. This point nearly an hour has pasted. We cancelled our meal. Hungry and extremely disappointed we left. Would not recommend whatsoever. Appalling service. The manager just wanted to pass the buck and make excuses. Which we were not happy with. He did not charge us for our starter and the few drinks we had which was good. However all we wanted was a good meal after travelling down from Inverness in the horrendous weather .

Nice and clean, good parking at rear. Staff friendly. Breakfast was good. Only gripe is the beds. 2 adults and 1 pre teen didn't get a wink of sleep due to how uncomfortable they are.

Check out the dining experience if the tasty burger and chips wasn't filling enough I opted for raspberry and vanilla cheesecake desert. Wow, got to be the best cheesecake I can remember.

Went here for an anniversary meal two weeks ago. Food as always was excellent but evening was ruined by the music being deafeningly loud. We even asked if it could be turned down a little, which it wasn't. I have hearing issues and as a result of the music I could barely hear my husband speak, and we ended up skipping dessert.

Got to my room and I was surprised to see it was nothing like what I thought I was booking. There was also no hairdryer or iron in the room. I went to reception to ask about these items, whilst I was there I mentioned about the room and they did respond well ish. I was ordered a room changed, of which I did take up. The next room was much more like what I had thought. The mug in the room needs a good wash. Breakfast, breakfast was not to my liking and I left most of it. I had gone for a full breakfast as there was not much choice on the menu and I had to pick my breakfast choice upon check-in. The egg was snotty, the sausage was cheap low meat content. It was just a let down. Parking was good. Would I stay here again, NO!!! For the price I know I can stay in a higher standard hotel.

The food was delightful. The daily (Today's) specials menu always seems exquisitely handpicked and never disappoints. Loved the "Soy and ginger Salmon Fillet with pak choi and bean sprouts, fragrant rice, a coconut & chilli sauce. It was delish . Such a gourmet meal. Highly recommended!
