Gate 63 is a training kitchen/restaurant operated by students, guided by professionals. Honestly, the food is outstanding and the price tag is £20 x 3 courses. What an innovative way to support up and coming talent in hospitality. Never disappoints, always delivers. Way to go Gate 63 👌 better than some of the rather more expensive restaurants in Aberdeen.

Stunning food as always the best in Aberdeen. It is a training kitchen so just keep that in mind to be more patient with the delivery of courses and it is so worth it! I have never had a bad meal there and the price is amazing for a 3 course meal. You even get to see the staff at work in the kitchen while you eat. Such a great atmosphere and extremely clean. Definitely worth a try you won’t regret it.

This restaurant is amazing with food and service to rival the best in Aberdeen. It is a training kitchen but to be honest it doesn’t have that feel to it with everyone from the manager who greeted us to all the waiting staff were excellent. The day we went it was a set lunch with two themed choices. I opted for the New Orleans set menu with each dish being frankly amazing. The starter was a chicken lolly pop with the nicest salad I’ve ever had. The man course was equally delicious but the dessert was out of this world. Brioche with caramel, chocolate and ice cream. It was very busy with not a single empty table so booking I would say is a must. Can’t wait to go back.

Had lunch here from the Christmas menu, which in itself was an enticing read. Food was delicious with quite large portions, service good and the environment very nice and modern. Great value, three courses £22. On top of that it's just a great venue open to the public to provide training for the next generation of chefs and front of house staff. Will definitely be back next year.

Aberdeenshire best kept , least publicised restaurant. Shhh! If this place is to succeed,it will need some promotion.

Gate 63 is the restaurant where the students of the NESCO practise their skills and trade. We knew the restaurant was there but had never been there. We went last night - Thursday 11th November. It's not open every evening and does some lunches as well. The food was very, very good. The service was excellent. You can bring your own bottle as well. All the students are appraised as they go about their work. If you didn't know any better you'd think it was a high class restaurant.....which it is in reality. Get along there. You will not be disappointed. Two courses for £14 and three for £18.

I remembered it was really good ...... but forgot it was this good! What an amazing selection of flavours. Best place we have eaten in locally. Amazing quality, price and service. The menus are well thought out, and the food is presented beautifully on the plate, the combinations of flavours are top class. The amazing tastes never fail to amaze. Our waiter today Kyle took care of us so attentively. Another awesome lunch out. Thanks, we will be back soon!

A hidden gem in the granite city, super central for a lunch treat. It really was a treat. Quality of food, taste, presentation, front of house service. Everything first class .... it really is amazing value. We ate from the Indian menu and it was the best meal out we have had in a long time. The chefs did an amazing job today, really talented. The presentation was beautiful and flavours so delicious. A BIG thank you.

Excelent experience today. From front of house service to the amazing food, I cannot find any fault. More people should try this “hidden treasure” in the heart of Aberdeen.

We had a lovely very tasty meal which was cooked to perfection the waitress who served at our table was very pleasant.There was a good atmosphere about the place . Will definitely go back.

Visited tonight for the first time and hopefully there will be many more visits. I don’t know where to start, greeted cheerfully with coats taken and shown to our table. Beautifully decorated and furnished, you would never think you’re in a college. Our server was fantastic (didn’t catch her name unfortunately but we were table 1) and after she told us it was only the 4th time she’d done it made it more impressive. The food was absolutely amazing and every bit as good as any restaurant I’ve been to. Everything was perfectly cooked and had no fault with anything at all. The tv screens so you can see the kitchen is an excellent idea and we saw one of the chefs delighted reaction when told how much we enjoyed our meal. All this for three courses for £12.50 makes it even more special. We will definitely be back and would be here for the three services a week every week if we could. Well done and good luck to everyone involved.

A hidden gem in the North East, a training restaurant situated in NESCol. We sampled the Christmas Dinner set menu. Absolutely fabulous. Food presentation and quality was top notch. Never had service quite like it. Front of house staff well presented and ever so attentive. Great ambiance in the dining room. Really good value. Empty plates all round. Can’t wait to see what’s on the menu in 2018. A big well done to the staff and students.

I visited the restaurant with colleagues for the Christmas Lunch menu. We had a beautiful meal, 3 courses. Service was fantastic, the restaurant looks great and all courses were delicious. I highly recommend!

Gate 63 a training restaurant based within North East college Scotland, Aberdeen is a hidden gem. This was my second visit, the first being so good we had to return. The food and service we received would challenge any of the top restaurants in Aberdeen. A fantastic insight into the world of the Professional Cookery, with a camera so that the diners can see the activity in the kitchen. We dined on their Christmas dinner menu and no fault could be found, in fact the ginger sponge with caramel sauce has to be one of the best caramel sauces I've ever tasted. £46 for 2 x 3 course dinner with drinks and a mocktail (It's bring your own bottle for alcohol) such good value for money. The students are doing an excellent job, well done keep up the good work we will definitely be back

Superb food, short menu three items per course. Between the 8 of us we sampled all alternatives and everything very good. The salmon main course was as good as anything i have ever eaten. Its a training restaurant, so very limited opening 3 per week I think. Its exceptional value and its byo for alcohol.

Lovely time had by all. Front of house staff were attentive and professional. The food was lovely and well presented. Atmosphere was appealing and we were all able to talk to each other and enjoy the evening. We are going to do it again 😀

The food was par non by far the best place to go in aberdeen for food price and service i would highly recommend gate 63 to any and all tourists and locals! The only problem with it is that it is not open enough lol

You have all those usual places to go to for Christmas lunch with your work colleagues but I must admit, this is a lovely place to go. The food was lovely and the service was good too. All the staff/students were attentive to all your needs. The food was delicious. If you want a lovely Christmas lunch without breaking the bank in the process, then this is a place to consider. Remember to bring a bottle! 😊

Estuvimos recientemente recordó acerca del restaurante de formación en el collage de un puesto en una página en Facebook. Me he formado como un chef aquí hace 20 años, así que estaba deseando ver cómo eran las cosas funcionan hoy en día. De hecho a ser verdaderamente sincero no puedo recordar haber tenido una buena comida en ningún otro sitio de la ciudad, recientemente. Bien hecho a todo el frente de la casa y «cultura detrás. Always a popular place for xmas meals. Makes sure you book nice and early. Great food and wonderful service. Remember bring your own bottle.

Habiendo visitado este restaurante muchas veces con amigos tanto a la hora del almuerzo (los miércoles y viernes) y por la noche (jueves), nunca nos ha decepcionado. Los menús imaginativos que varían cada mes dan opciones para satisfacer a la mayoría de los paladares y la facilidad para llevar tu propia botella de vino es una ventaja. La calidad de la comida es excelente, a la par con muchos más prestigiosos restaurantes, y el servicio es amable y atento. En general, este restaurante ofrece una experiencia culinaria y una relación calidad-precio.

We booked the restaurant for a business dinner debate, with guests from senior levels of business and from across the North East. The service was impeccable, the food of a standard that puts many of the well-known Aberdeen restaurants in the shade. I am a foodie and have to say that I have not had sea bream cooked better anywhere else. I cannot recommend Gate 63 highly enough and look forward to visiting in a personal capacity very soon. Many thanks to the wonderful students - you are a credit to your college.

I booked a table for 20 people for a networking lunch, from the moment I contacted the restaurant, the service was impeccable. The restaurant trains students in catering and front of house and is kitted out as a quality restaurant experience. We were greeted at the door by one of the staff and shown to our tableThe food was brilliant and for £10 for 2 courses and £12.50 for 3 is surely the best value in Aberdeen. I had cod nuggets with tartar sauce, then pork with apple and black pudding followed by vanilla cheesecakeService was excellent and they coped brilliantly with a large table - much better service and food than I have had at so called professional restaurants.Would highly recommend it.

Have eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed.The Burns night event was very well organised, well cooked and well seasoned hot food,(very tasty vege haggis!)efficient friendly service, good entertainment. The students here could show some of the other Aberdeen restaurants a thing or two! Remember to take your own wine!

We have visited Gate 63 5 times now and cannot fault the quality of the food, the students who serve us (while training) and the presentation of the tables and restaurant. The value for money way exceeds expectations. Gate 63 is a Training Facility and very well organised, Well Done to all concerned.

Had an absolutely fabulous meal last night in Gate 63 - the food was superb, great quality and piping hot with the best on ingredients. Students were excellent in their delivery of service - lovely evening - you really should try dining here - open all year round for lunches Wednesday t Friday and dinners on a Thursday evening - Actually going back today for lunch and cannot wait

Having visited the restaurant on several occasions, i can not praise the staff, service and the quality of the food provided.I feel that these nights should be better advertised to let more people share in the experiance.I cant wait for the next evening.You would get better value for money anywhere else in Aberdeen.

. Had a three course delicious meal for £10. The veggie option was both tasty and beautifully presented.. Going again with our bottle of wine. Shame its not open every day.

Now called Gate 63. Maitre'D was not at the door to welcome me, server came by and gave me the menu, I had the roast leg of lamb in a herb crust, baked vanilla cheesecake for my desert, took me 1/2 an hour to receive my main meal, finished the dish at quarter to one, I had to cancel my desert as I had to be somewhere else, receipt machine broken, hand written receipt was given, meal costed £5, gave a £20 note, given £15 pounds in one pound coins!

We had lunch here today and it was fantastic. The college serve a 3 course lunch in their training restaurant for £10. We had great food . I had lovely soup and bread followed by the best ever pan seared salmon with veg and potatoes followed by great creamed rice pudding. The students cook and serve the food and the college staff were there to oversee. It was excellent quality and all home cooked high quality food that is hard to find these days even in a city. Best to call the North East College to check on the days they are serving and to book but if your in the area you can always drop in for lunch at 12noon. The food is second to none and all served in a recently modernised dining area.

Now called Gate 63, we had our office Christmas lunch here last Friday. It was fab - first class food and service at a great price. As a vegetarian, it can sometimes feel like the veg option is an after thought, but not here. And, to top it all off, hand made chocs to die for!

I was very impressed at the incredibly high standard of food quality and presentation that the students presented. They should be very proud of the work that they do.

This a great place if you want to have a short stay meal for lunch with it's range of fixed menu choices and these change from time to time and the table layout was very well presented. I had the pleasure of being served by the most professional students within the professional cookery department both in front of house and the chefs. My experience when I had my lunch there, I was attended to straight away with a smile and a warm welcome and showed to my seat, where i was then given time to check the menu and place my order. During the wait, I had the joy of having one of the non-alcoholic cocktails - this tasted great! Shortly after, I was served with my meal which I ordered. The presentation looked as good as if it were from the top restaurants. Taste was very nice. Could easily have had more of it, it was that good.

Was really good food with a set menu. We arrived and were sat right away, served with a smile and nothing was to much bother for the staff. Very impressed. Thanks

Booked a table for 12, came in asked for my name for the table, then me and my friend where directed straight to a table, the server took our orders and in 2 minutes we were offered a nible and a warm bread bun, 5 minutes later the mains arrived, Mushroom and Pea risotto (very nice), we asked a cocktail after the meal it took about 10 minutes to get the drinks that we asked for. Eventualy the drinks came we asked for the bill £7.00! Very good price.
