The Atrium in Aberdeen City

This was our second time attending here. The first visit was good with great customer service, but the second visit was poor. The service was atrocious which made us not enjoy our food. Really disappointing

The Atrium is a nice, family-friendly restaurant, and by the time we left at 6:30 pm, it was getting quite busy, which suggests it’s a popular spot. For the food, I had the buttermilk chicken burger. Unfortunately, it was slightly overcooked, and looked burnt, making it a bit dry, though still edible—overall, a fairly average dish. The coleslaw on the side was disappointing, as it was dried out. My wife opted for the pork belly, which was decent, but the pork crackling on top was soft and chewy instead of crispy, which was a letdown. Our daughter had the mac and cheese, and out of the three dishes we tried, this was probably the best. It was cheesy and well-made, which was a positive note in our meal. For dessert, we shared the poached pear and the sticky toffee pudding. The pear dessert was okay but nothing special, and the sticky toffee pudding was unfortunately quite dry. In total, we paid £88 for five dishes and three drinks. If the food quality had been better I we would have said good price, but we left disappointed

Really enjoyed our visit to Atrium, Scottish Cuisine restaurant and bar. Food was excellent, staff service was first class, right on the ball all round. Would visit again.

Lovely hidden gem just off west end of Union Street. Great Scottish food options which is rare to find in the city. Food quality is excellent. I opted for three courses and all three were delicious. Can highly recommend this place for food.

Food was great enjoyed the meal! Everyone liked their meals. We went for a birthday meal group of 9, however everyone complained about the service. Waiting for sauces, they did not come, had to get ourselves, waiting for desserts. Then Missed out an ice cream served the brownie on its own. Printer not working to print out the bill. I put it down to a Sunday the service being poor. Bathroom lovely idea with all the toiletries.

Had our granddaughter's birthday party last night in the restaurant. The service from Marie and Jamie was second to none looked after everything for us. The food was outstanding. I would recommend this restaurant for any upcoming occasion you might have in the future you will not be disappointed. A big thank you for a great time at the Atrium Restaurant. Peter Rennie.

Really good place to eat if u love Scottish food, went there for valentines day and i loved their menu, was 3 courses for 35 quid which is really good, pretty good food portions as-well. Definitely recommend this place

Fantastic way to spend valentines with my partner. He and I absolutely loved our meal. Drinks were good (my off menu mocktail was brilliant). The steaks were cooked to both our likings and full of flavour. The desserts however were to die for. His strawberry cheesecake was smooth and delicious and my poached pear with plum gel and blood orange sorbet is now a new found favourite. And a huge thanks to all the staff especially our wonderful waitress Kayla. Good food is one thing but great service is what truly makes people come back. Bubbly personality and infectious smile really cemented the mood for a night of memories. We always feel awkward or cautious being a male couple when in restaurants. However the staff really made us feel warm and help provide a special romantic night for us and I can assure we weren't the only couple there thinking the same thing. 5 star for food and service 4 star for atmosphere purely based on more the layout. It just felt that tad bit too open where we sat. Though that's such a small thing. Thanks for having us!!

Very lovely dinner, food was very nice, the steak very tender. My colleagues enjoyed their food too, from starter to desert!

We went for my dinner and all had a fabulous time. The food and service was amazing. The staff went above and beyond. I was pleasantly surprised to see the bathroom fully stocked with helpful amenities. It perfectly displays the care and attitudes of this establishment. I highly recommend! Their new menu was lovely; I had the crab arancini starter which I wasn’t enamoured by, but the steak chef special main and s’mores brownie was amazing, and I was surprised with a cupcake as it was my birthday. Overall, lovely experience and would definitely go back!!

WOW!! First time at the Atrium for a works night out last night and it did not disappoint. We had the Festive 3 course menu. The staff where amazing and always on the go and nothing was a bother! The Food itself (compliments to the chef) Good portions and very flavoursome. Also Special mention of Thanks to the lady that should have finished her shift at 8 but decided to stay on that looked after our table. Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas and a fab 2025! X

I've been to the Atrium a few times now and it never disappoints the food is always amazing. The atmosphere is cosy. This time I went for my surprise 40th and all the girls serving were amazing, very professional and friendly. The 16 3 course meal was delivered to us seamlessly! The girls sang happy birthday to me which was really nice. Shout out to the lovely servers kelci, Jamie, Jo, rhona marie & frankee. Hope I didn't miss anyone. You made my day special. X

The atrium is a reliable restaurant for food and have a good menu. It was a weeknight and was busy due to festivities which slowed down the staff. But otherwise overall a good meal.

Thank you Jo and Colin for the excellent service at our family Christmas meal in the Garden room. Food was delicious as was the cocktails. We’ll definitely be back, thank you.

Turkey dinner was not good. Presentation was bad, served on a plate not much bigger than a side plate. Tatties were inedible. Like rocks. Service was good.

Incredible value for money with the 3 for £30. Staff were lovely and the restaurant had a bustling atmosphere without being too overwhelming/noisy! Would highly recommend!

The Atrium was very accommodating with the best and welcoming staff ever! Very delicious three course meal on my last day in Aberdeen - was brilliant and unforgettable. I absolutely loved in particular my first time having this traditional Scottish dish, Cullen Skink..just gorgeous and very tasty. Really gutted I didn't take pics. Special thanks to my server Marie who was so lovely warm and kind! Marie made sure I got to taste the true flavours of the Atrium and a huge asset to.this beautiful restaurant. Thank you so much Marie and boss 😊😊. I'll certainly be back when in town! xx

Great dinner location. Excellent atmosphere and service. Had the Buckfast Pie and did not disappoint. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was a great finisher as well. Would highly recommend!

Lovely family meal this evening. New menu is to die for and we’ll definitely be back to sample more of it. Service was fantastic - the staff are a credit to the business. Kids options are great, it’s really lovely to see little ones taken care of. It’s the little things!

The food was average. The beef olive was not good, watery gravy and warm mashed potatoes. Not good.

This was my first time visiting and I will definitely be back! The food, atmosphere and service were all excellent. The price for the 2 or 3 courses was very reasonable.

To be honest, I'm not a fan of expensive meals with small portions, but in the end it paid off more than I thought! The starting point was the Scottish-style gyozas, the two sauces were very good. The main course continued with a piece of pulled pork marinated in a Guinness sauce, mashed potato, marrow (fried bone marrow) and some vegetables (especially green beans). Last but not least, as dessert there was a lump of hazelnut chocolate with vanilla ice cream, overall it was filling in the end and a taste experience was fulfilled!

The Atrium is one of those restaurants that gives you a brilliant atmosphere, delicious food and is perfect for any occasion! We had booked a table after being recommended by friends and it turned out to be during 'Aberdeen Restaurant Week' which meant special offers for 2/3 course meals. You can never say no to dessert right? It is definitely a hidden gem with its central location, varied menu and a large portion size, it's perfect for the family. big group or just as a date night location. It is all very well priced and the staff are really down to earth and friendly. The Atrium is a warm and cosy restaurant with plenty of tables but I do advise booking ahead and you might even time it right during special restaurant weeks in the city, you won't be disappointed!

Visited with my family for the first time due to an extensive menu with plenty of variety. My mum is gluten intolerant and there was enough choice for her with all of us happy with our meals. All courses were fairly generous portions (a bit too generous for us!) however we all enjoyed our meals and everything was reasonably priced. The whole restaurant was clean and tidy and the staff very friendly. My only complaint would be we were seated very close to our fellow diners. We were at the front of the restaurant and I didn't look into the back so this may be better elsewhere but certainly the front booth-type seating felt a bit close. Otherwise would definitely visit again.

My Grandson took me for dinner at this restaurant. It was the first time for both of us. The food was excellent, very good service and didn't have to wait too long. Will definitely go back. It's best to book in advance.

No real ambience in the place... staff efficient but too busy to be friendly. My friends chicken was OK. My buckfast pie filling was tasty but the pastry was not fully cooked... and the roast potatoes took a huge amount of sawing to cut up!... I asked for the trio of icecream for afters... was told that the kitchen was too busy to find/serve anything other than vanilla...????? >I had the rhubarb creme caramel ..which was nice. Overall mediocre.

Normally our go to place but we went here the other week and the service has gone down a fair bit. Firstly we had a pram so they crammed us into a table where the pram was just in the way despite booking in advance and advising them of this. We had the roast and the chicken was dry and they got the order wrong so we had to wait for the food to come back. This has put us off coming back :(

Lovely lunch for my grandsons birthday. From the minute we sat down staff very attentive and informative, my grandson has to have dairy free the menu was very good with codes saying which foods were DF so it made my grandsons choice very easy. Food was excellent from starters to dessert could not fault anything at the end of the meal the staff even came over and sung Happy Birthday to him Would thoroughly recommend The Atrium excellentcall round

Roast dinner was a disaster. Never seen a flat Yorkshire pudding before. Potatoes tasted as if they were prepared the day before. On the plus side the fajitas were nice.

First time at the Atrium but definitely not our last! Service was first class. Our waitress was attentive and chatty. We had mains and sweets and 6 out of 6 got 10 out of 10! Can't ask for much better than that. All were excellent.

Dined at the Atrium in Aberdeen last night with my partner. Cannot fault this place and I am very picky when it comes to eating out. The food was AMAZING....Cosy warm atmosphere. Lizzy served us and she was an absolute pleasure. Polite, cheery, and asked if we needed anything throughout the evening but not overly intrusive. We definitely will visit again when in Aberdeen and highly recommend for a 5 star meal. 😍

Kitchen closed from 8 approx. Only for drinks, not dinner… there were only a couple of places to have dinner in the area. Keep the time in mind, don't go late to dinner at places :)

Fantastic, nice environment, good selection of Wines and scottish drinks. The Malbec was really good and so nice to be able to order just a glass in almost all of the wines. Had the Chicken Dumplings to start.. the wassabi mayo was so good. As for the Venison it was cooked perfectly. 3 courses for two people, 2 glasses of wine and it was under £100....We will be back for sure. Thanks again Atrium

Had a one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Restaurant has a nice ambience. Staff very friendly and attentive. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend going there. You will not be disappointed.

A great discovery of Scottish cuisine. The dishes, from starter to dessert, were very good, the flavors are well balanced, the products are fresh and of high quality and each dish is very generous. The service is very pleasant and efficient. We had a great time as a family. I highly recommend.

Food was excellent, have been here a few times but was very disappointed with the cheese board tonight which was £10, the cheese was so thinly sliced there was not much on the plate we got 4 crackers and asked for another 2 and was told it would be an extra £1.00 definitely not worth the money for the cheese and biscuits.

Came here pre show first time today.Had high expectations from a family recommendation based on their visit.ours didn’t mirror this , the place is nice enough ,booking was correct seated fine yeah.But the food was bang average in both our opinions, had fish and chips and the burger followed with deserts sticky toffee pudding and the brownie.The burger was not bad but certainly nothing special the black pudding on it could have been cooked longer to skin it ,as done it was mushy and just not pleasant texture wise.my partner said her fish was ok but nothing to shout about.This feeling from us both continued into dessert .overall everything was just ok nothing stand out nothing I can’t get better in somewhere else.

Went for a nice meal with my wife at 5.30 on Monday the 22nd. First visit and everything looked wonderfull. Our starter and wine arrived and along with the nice background music everything seemed fine until a couple of adults decided they would like to listen to very noisy content from their phone. We thought it would be a short thing, but no they carried on and on. Our enjoyment of our starter was ruined. I went to the bar and asked the young lady if she could kindly request them to cease. I was told she would get the manager to deal with it. Quite a time later she reappeared to tell us that the manager said they had had their food and would probably leave soon anyway. As the noise was still going on we chose to pay for what we had and leave. I would advise anyone to spend their hard earned money at a professional business who's management actually MANAGE. First visit and last. Absolutely disgraceful

We were looking for a new place to go in Aberdeen and had passed The Atrium a few times. We decided to give it a go after looking at the reviews. The restaurant advertises itself as Scottish, which is certainly true for the produce, but when it comes to the menu, it is a lovely mix of typical Scottish dishes, but also burgers, pasta, mac & cheese and more. That variety meant that the whole family had a something interesting to choose. The wine was great, the atmosphere and service very decent.

Top rate service and food. If you are in Aberdeen, eat here. The best of wines and top notch Scottish produce. Just wish they would open up In Glasgow

We were a party of 19 in the private function suite. The service was excellent from the booking right through to the serving of the meal. The quality of the food was excellent too and very reasonably priced.

Erye, our table host was excellent. Good food and interesting music. She made our experience special. The food was tasty and served beautifully.

We went for a pre theatre dinner. Booked for 5.45 to give us plenty of time. We arrived 5 mins late at 5.50 but theatre was 7.30 so loads of time. Got seated and waited 30 minutes to even get a drinks order so ordered food at the same time, it eventually arrived at 6.45 and just to look at it the puff pastry on the pie wasn't cooked, it was raw dough, and the roast potato's were under coookd in the middle and the 'beef' pie had 5 tiny cubes of beef, the rest was vegetables. Disappointing would be an understatement. We had looked forward to dinner all week. We had planned to have the 2 courses for £25 but didn't have time. They did take the pie off the bill. Our server was lovely but sadly it was such an huge let down we won't be going back.

Recommended to book in advance, at least for the weekends. The cullen skink was delicious. We have not tried many others, but this one was top! Staff was kind, attentive and fast. Pay to park on the street only.

Had an absolutely lovely meal here. Scottish themed cuisine. All the dishes were well presented with good portion sizes and fantastic flavours. The cullen skink was the best I've ever had. Atmosphere was nice with good background music at a sensible level so conversation was easy. Really recommend you try it.

Not only was this the best service we had in all of Great Britain but it might be the best service I've ever had!! They were simply fantastic and so incredibly accommodating. We genuinely felt like family and it was a great way for us to end our family trip. The Cullen skink was creamy yet light. The fish and chips were well battered and seasoned well. The gravy and haggis ate really salty, still good but just really salty. The house burger was good but unfortunately not amazing, but that was likely the lowest point of the meal (and it was still good enough). I cannot recommend this place enough!! What a great gem in Aberdeen!!!

1st time at the Atrium. Food was really good. Nice restaurant.

Had a 6:30 reservation, arrived at 6:20 and was seated right away, well we didn’t actually get seated but directed towards the tables and the waitress went to get water. She didn’t come back for 25 minutes. It went down hill from there. It took another 20 minutes to order our food, they brought the wrong appetizer. Once we got the appetizer (15 minutes later) we got our food. For the next 30 minutes no one came by to ask how the meal was or if we needed anything. Finally at 8:15 we got our check after requesting it twice. The food was excellent.

A definite go-to when in Aberdeen. Tucked away on Chapel Street, this place is a gem. Haggis bonbons for starters and North Sea Haddock Mornay for mains were of incredibly excellent quality. Great atmosphere and friendly staff; we will be back!

We went to the Atrium on a recommendation. Well it certainly didn’t disappoint. Excellent food, well presented by lovely friendly staff. We all had two courses and wine and the bill was very reasonable indeed. 100 % recommended

Scottish fusion style food. Selection is varied and the food I tried was very good. For dinner you can order 2 or 3 course meal selection that is good value and should have something for everyone. Special shout out for the Deep Fried Marsbar dessert (in picture). This was a surprisingly excellent desert and I have to recommend as a must try for visitors to Scotland. Resturant is overall nice and at time of visit it was not too busy, so resturant was not as noisy as many places tend to be. Service was good and not intrusive in any way. In closing, highly recommend this resturant, and whatever you do; be sure to try the Fried Marsbar.

Very good experience. If there's such one thing as a local cuisine, this would be the place. Should have stayed with two courses, but had to try the fried mars bar 🙄

One day I'm sure they will have haggis, neaps and tatties on the dinner menu when I show up, and if they do, it'll will be superb, just like all the other meals I have enjoyed at Atrium... Cullen skink, smoked haddock mornay, haggis bon bons..... If you're in the granite City, go for dinner here... Go for a long dinner here... Enjoy.. And thank you.

First time at this restaurant with my family the food and staff were excellent nicely presented and warm.. my only gripe was not enough sauce on sticky toffee pudding but that's a Personal thing a little jug on side would be nice Keep up the good work

Superb food; inventive and incredibly tasty. There's nothing pretentious and the servings are seriously generous. Really loved it. Would like to see a more ambitious wine and drinks list. Also, the laminated menus may be practical but they feel out of place.

I would definitely recommend The Atrium, lovely service all the staff are friendly. And the food was amazing, my steak was cooked to perfection, well presented. Cullen skink soup is a favourite❤️

Food is excellent and big platefuls. We had been before where the service was disappointing, but our issues were dealt with. On returning we couldn’t fault a thing, food was still amazing, and staff were lovely, professional and very attentive.

Lovely meal, good selection, generous portions, Aberdeen buttery served with Cullen skink a quirky touch, Korean chicken very tasty. Main course good plate of food no room for desert. Staff were friendly and efficient and very good value for money . Would definitely recommend and dine here again.

This was our 3rd family visit, first 2 were spoiled by poor service, however as the food has always been excellent we gave it a "3rd time lucky" chance. Thanks to Ayisha our lovely server, our experience was 5 star. Always smiling, efficient, willing to chat as well as being very busy seeing to the customers, what a difference she made to our whole family meal. Well done Ayisha you should be proud of yourself. Also manager Sarah was very nice explaining possibly why we had issues with our previous visits. Fingers crossed for next visit...

We had been as a family before and the food was fantastic but really spoiled by the service we received from our waitress at the time. We decided to give it another go for my birthday meal ans so glad we did. The food was as good as the first time but the service from Ayesha made the difference. She was incredibly busy serving but always made the time to check in with us for drinks, desserts etc. She was very professional but also warm and kind. Hats off also to Sarah the manager. What a different visit for us this time. I'm so glad we can go back again. Well done ladies.

Food was amazing staff are very disinterested and clearly don't want to be there, when you are told by your server to pass those dirty plate as they stand at the top of the table rather than walk round the table collecting them 😔

Booked for a family birthday and from the moment I booked I was impressed with the professionalism of the staff. The meal itself was excellent and again the staff were so friendly and helpful and I will definitely be back and would recommend to everyone to try this gem of a restaurant. Average food and below average service. My teriyaki stir fry was so sweet, I just couldn't eat it. The noodles undercooked as well. I said this to the waiter, he replied that teriyaki sauce is made with sugar and I said that I know this very well, I ate teriyaki many times before, never that sweet. After we finished the main courses we waited a very long time for the plates to be taken away. The servers never asked if we want more drinks and at the end I had to look for them to ask for the bill. Very disappointing and I will not return.

Excellent lunch with superb service, waitress Jo was very pleasant and efficient. Good choice of menu for a lunchtime and very nice cocktails. We found it reasonably priced for the quality of food and portion size, will definitely be back :)

Went to the Atrium for dinner with my work friends, at my suggestion. I have been to the Atrium 4-5 times and have always had a decent experience. However, Thursday night confirmed there will not be a sixth visit by me or any of my friends. The server was extremely rude, when my friend complained that her medium steak was cold, she was repeatedly asked 'what would you like me to do?' Politely she requested that the steak be heated up. He also remarked 'well, you did order it medium', which is not a helpful response and having had a few medium steaks in my time, know they are not served stone cold. The inpolite manner at that point was not the worst part. When we came to pay (after sitting with our jackets on trying to get their attention), the server asked 'so how you wanting to do this, split it?' whereby I produced my card for payment and he responded 'what about tips, how you doing that?' I said that I planned to round up my payment to include a tip whereby he advised that they wouldn't get paid the tips as that's how the card payment worked and that the business would get all the money. It was a very awkward exchange, and after I said, 'well what do you want me to do, calculate payments and tips seperately'?, he relinquished and took my card and payment. On completion of the payment (I can't recall the exact words), he remarked 'lesson for you to take cash with you in the future'. We all left feeling very uncomfortable. Personally, my food was good, however, the restaurant temperature is below comfortable and the experience with the staff was below average! If you enjoy feeling humiliated and embarrassed, this is the place to go.

The food was very satisfactory. However the customer service was poor. The waitress was not friendly neither was she smiling. We will not go back because of the service. IIt's a shame.

We knew the evening wasn't going to go to plan when 3 of our party arrived and was greeted with a host who looked like we have all just walked into her own living room. On explaining there was going to be just 4 of us instead of 5 she rudely asked 'well how many do you want it for!' We were shown to the table and the given the menu, when the server eventually came for the drinks order we were all good to give the food one too as had ample time to pick. The cocktail menu was limited. The room was very cold and I sat with my coat wrapped wound my waist and legs. The starters were lovely 3xking prawns, 1x scotch egg. The main courses arrived the mac cheese was a very decent helping as was the scampi. The 2 medium steaks were cold - one guest just put the sauce over the steak to disguise it was cold and continued to eat it, I told [I think it was the manager] that my steak was cold and he questioned me twice that it was cold and I even put my hand on the steak and asked if he would like to try it! The attitude wasn't what we would have expected - he then twice asked what I would like to do but told him to just give it a heat was good for me, no need for a replacement. The waiting time and trying to catch somebody's eye when we were looking to pay must've been 15+ minutes - while [manager] was at the bar looking like he was texting on his mobile. We had waited so long we all thought if we put our coats on somebody will come over to take payment. Eventually he came over with the bill and payment device, my colleague advised that there was to be 3 card payments and at least 3/4 times he said that they would miss out on a tip if we were doing it that way. After about the 4 time she asked if he would like to add up the payments himself and he grudgingly took the them. So if he had not mentioned that, and despite the steaks being cold, there would have been a cash tip left on the table [which is what we normally do for the waitresses] None of us have ever been asked or told about going to tip - anywhere!! This left such a sour end to what should have been a lovely night. Needless to say we won't be back.

After entering, my girlfriend and I felt taken care of. The smiling waitress showed us to our seats and was very nice. The meals we ordered were prepared from fresh, regional products.The taste, speed of serving and method of serving - perfect. We wholeheartedly recommend this place

Enjoyed a family get together and while there were 9 of us, we were asked to pre order and when we arrived we were shown to a private room, which while seperate from the main dining room still had plenty of atmosphere. Over all the food was excellent and we all had a variety of starters, mains and sweets and I think everyone was very pleased. Only downside was although pre ordered the food did seem to take a while to come, and it was the same with the drinks. But this seemed to be a kitchen and bar problem rather than the waitresses. It was very busy to be fare and it seemed that some of the younger waitresses were quite stressed, but i dont think any fault lay with them. A good night was had and the food with the cost was excellent. If you havent been give it a go, its well worth it.

Great food, great service. Was busy when we arrived and were still able to accommodate us without booking in advance. Nice selection whisky too
