This was my second time at The Atrium and it definitely doesn’t disappoint. The restaurant has a lovely welcoming feel to it and the staff are so friendly. We all had something different to eat and all the food was of very generous portion, excellent quality. Would highly recommend

First time at this restaurant with my family the food and staff were excellent nicely presented and warm.. my only gripe was not enough sauce on sticky toffee pudding but that's a Personal thing a little jug on side would be nice Keep up the good work

Superb food; inventive and incredibly tasty. There's nothing pretentious and the servings are seriously generous. Really loved it. Would like to see a more ambitious wine and drinks list. Also, the laminated menus may be practical but they feel out of place.

I would definitely recommend The Atrium, lovely service all the staff are friendly. And the food was amazing, my steak was cooked to perfection, well presented. Cullen skink soup is a favourite❤️

First time me and my husband had been here, lovely atmosphere, lovely food and big portions. Our waitress Amber was very polite and attentive and so were the other waitresses too. Will be back again

Food is excellent and big platefuls. We had been before where the service was disappointing, but our issues were dealt with. On returning we couldn’t fault a thing, food was still amazing, and staff were lovely, professional and very attentive.

Third visit this year and as always good food, great staff and value for money. Found this place during Aberdeen restaurant week. Our new go to restaurant.

Lovely meal, good selection, generous portions, Aberdeen buttery served with Cullen skink a quirky touch, Korean chicken very tasty. Main course good plate of food no room for desert. Staff were friendly and efficient and very good value for money . Would definitely recommend and dine here again.

This was our 3rd family visit, first 2 were spoiled by poor service, however as the food has always been excellent we gave it a "3rd time lucky" chance. Thanks to Ayisha our lovely server, our experience was 5 star. Always smiling, efficient, willing to chat as well as being very busy seeing to the customers, what a difference she made to our whole family meal. Well done Ayisha you should be proud of yourself. Also manager Sarah was very nice explaining possibly why we had issues with our previous visits. Fingers crossed for next visit...

We had been as a family before and the food was fantastic but really spoiled by the service we received from our waitress at the time. We decided to give it another go for my birthday meal ans so glad we did. The food was as good as the first time but the service from Ayesha made the difference. She was incredibly busy serving but always made the time to check in with us for drinks, desserts etc. She was very professional but also warm and kind. Hats off also to Sarah the manager. What a different visit for us this time. I'm so glad we can go back again. Well done ladies.

Food was amazing staff are very disinterested and clearly don't want to be there, when you are told by your server to pass those dirty plate as they stand at the top of the table rather than walk round the table collecting them 😔

Booked for a family birthday and from the moment I booked I was impressed with the professionalism of the staff. The meal itself was excellent and again the staff were so friendly and helpful and I will definitely be back and would recommend to everyone to try this gem of a restaurant. Special mention to Sara for her excellent hospitality skills and attention to my guests.

Average food and below average service. My teriyaki stir fry was so sweet, I just couldn't eat it. The noodles undercooked as well. I said this to the waiter, he replied that teriyaki sauce is made with sugar and I said that I know this very well, I ate teriyaki many times before, never that sweet. After we finished the main courses we waited a very long time for the plates to be taken away. The servers never asked if we want more drinks and at the end I had to look for them to ask for the bill. Very disappointing and I will not return.

Booked a table at the last minute for a late lunch. Staff amazing and attentive, food was fabulous! Highly recommend, was very busy which was lovely to see.

Excellent lunch with superb service, waitress Jo was very pleasant and efficient. Good choice of menu for a lunchtime and very nice cocktails. We found it reasonably priced for the quality of food and portion size, will definitely be back :)

Went to the Atrium for dinner with my work friends, at my suggestion. I have been to the Atrium 4-5 times and have always had a decent experience. However, Thursday night confirmed there will not be a sixth visit by me or any of my friends. The server was extremely rude, when my friend complained that her medium steak was cold, she was repeatedly asked 'what would you like me to do?' Politely she requested that the steak be heated up. He also remarked 'well, you did order it medium', which is not a helpful response and having had a few medium steaks in my time, know they are not served stone cold. The inpolite manner at that point was not the worst part. When we came to pay (after sitting with our jackets on trying to get their attention), the server asked 'so how you wanting to do this, split it?' whereby I produced my card for payment and he responded 'what about tips, how you doing that?' I said that I planned to round up my payment to include a tip whereby he advised that they wouldn't get paid the tips as that's how the card payment worked and that the business would get all the money. It was a very awkward exchange, and after I said, 'well what do you want me to do, calculate payments and tips seperately'?, he relinquished and took my card and payment. On completion of the payment (I can't recall the exact words), he remarked 'lesson for you to take cash with you in the future'. We all left feeling very uncomfortable. Personally, my food was good, however, the restaurant temperature is below comfortable and the experience with the staff was below average! If you enjoy feeling humiliated and embarrassed, this is the place to go.

We knew the evening wasn't going to go to plan when 3 of our party arrived and was greeted with a host who looked like we have all just walked into her own living room. On explaining there was going to be just 4 of us instead of 5 she rudely asked 'well how many do you want it for!' We were shown to the table and the given the menu, when the server eventually came for the drinks order we were all good to give the food one too as had ample time to pick. The cocktail menu was limited. The room was very cold and I sat with my coat wrapped wound my waist and legs. The starters were lovely 3xking prawns, 1x scotch egg. The main courses arrived the mac cheese was a very decent helping as was the scampi. The 2 medium steaks were cold - one guest just put the sauce over the steak to disguise it was cold and continued to eat it, I told [I think it was the manager] that my steak was cold and he questioned me twice that it was cold and I even put my hand on the steak and asked if he would like to try it! The attitude wasn't what we would have expected - he then twice asked what I would like to do but told him to just give it a heat was good for me, no need for a replacement. The waiting time and trying to catch somebody's eye when we were looking to pay must've been 15+ minutes - while [manager] was at the bar looking like he was texting on his mobile. We had waited so long we all thought if we put our coats on somebody will come over to take payment. Eventually he came over with the bill and payment device, my colleague advised that there was to be 3 card payments and at least 3/4 times he said that they would miss out on a tip if we were doing it that way. After about the 4 time she asked if he would like to add up the payments himself and he grudgingly took the them. So if he had not mentioned that, and despite the steaks being cold, there would have been a cash tip left on the table [which is what we normally do for the waitresses] None of us have ever been asked or told about going to tip - anywhere!! This left such a sour end to what should have been a lovely night. Needless to say we won't be back.

The food was very satisfactory. However the customer service was poor. The waitress was not friendly neither was she smiling. We will not go back because of the service. IIt's a shame.

After entering, my girlfriend and I felt taken care of. The smiling waitress showed us to our seats and was very nice. The meals we ordered were prepared from fresh, regional products.The taste, speed of serving and method of serving - perfect. We wholeheartedly recommend this place

Enjoyed a family get together and while there were 9 of us, we were asked to pre order and when we arrived we were shown to a private room, which while seperate from the main dining room still had plenty of atmosphere. Over all the food was excellent and we all had a variety of starters, mains and sweets and I think everyone was very pleased. Only downside was although pre ordered the food did seem to take a while to come, and it was the same with the drinks. But this seemed to be a kitchen and bar problem rather than the waitresses. It was very busy to be fare and it seemed that some of the younger waitresses were quite stressed, but i dont think any fault lay with them. A good night was had and the food with the cost was excellent. If you havent been give it a go, its well worth it.

Great food, great service. Was busy when we arrived and were still able to accommodate us without booking in advance. Nice selection whisky too

This was my second time here cause I loved my first experience so much. Food was lovely!!! Probably the best Cullen Skink I’ve ever had and fantastic value for the price. Service though was very off putting though. Server was nice but she checked up on our table about 10 times in the span of 20 minutes, put the straws on the table, felt unsanitary, servers were smelling the drinks, asked to take our order immediately as we sat down. Overall we just had a very uncomfortable experience. I work in the hospitality industry and i really think the front of house staff need some better training. Again the food was lovely but we were extremely turned off by the customer service we had.

Hidden gem, first visit but certainly won’t be the last! Food was delicious, well cooked, beautifully presented and service was excellent. My daughter and I will definitely return.

Just dined here with work - festive menu. Despite running a little behind they more than made up for it, Darren and the team are fab. Service was flawless, food was incredible and will most definitely be back for a la carte. Well worth a visit

Had the private dining room as there was 12 of us, food was excellent, service great. Plenty of space and we could control the music, play our own tunes. Great night had by all.

Booked dinner for Monday night at 5.45 because we were going to the theatre. Water was delivered to the table but no glasses. Orders were taken quickly and the food arrived promptly. The food itself was lovely. We then sat for 20mins waiting for someone to clear our plates and take orders for dessert given it was a set menu. Eventually someone came and recommended we order a second course to get our money's worth but by then we were running late for the theatre. Took a long time to get the bill and pay. Food was great but it was a very expensive one course meal. Waitress apologised but still charged the full set menu price.

Celebrated my Wifes 60th birthday here with Family in a private dining room. Everything went well, staff were friendly and helpful without being too intrusive, they even sang Happy Birthday to her whilst taking in her cake Food was delicious and plentiful, would happily recommend The Atrium, and will certainly be returning

Visited on Saturday lunchtime, table of 5. Before we had even ordered a drink we were told we had to leave the table within 2 & a quarter hours by the front of house chap. The food was good & waitresses were lovely although busy, so just as well we didn't want 3 coarses as the pace was slow. Over 30 minutes wait for mains & long wait for dishes to be cleared and desserts to be ordered. The minute we finished our dessert the same chap appeared and said he would have to give us our bill! Never asked if we wanted coffee or enjoyed our meal. We paid and the cleaning spray was left on table beside us as we were getting our coats on. There was no one waiting to be seated and quite a few empty tables around at 345pm. Customer service poor.

Had a table booked for 5pm. Arrived at the restaurant to be shown to a table at the front beside a large noisy party. We asked if we could sit somewhere else and were advised they were fully booked (even though very few tables were occupied at the rear of the restaurant). We therefore left and will not go back to this restaurant given the poor customer service.

I don't normally do reviews but my experience wasn't the best. The service was really really slow and my meal wasn't great. The chicken was very dry and some of the veg was almost raw. P

First time eating here since it reopened under the new owners. Will definitely be going back - the choices for food were good and we specifically booked for the Sunday roast and it didn't disappoint 😋 We also had starters and dessert and they were lovely as well. We loved the fact it is a set price menu 😃

This was my first visit and it made a good first impression. Met friends for lunch, the menu choice was good and the food was delicious. It's really pleasant and relaxed environment, great for a nice chatty lunch. The staff were very nice and the service was good. Will definitely visit again.

Food was alright. Have to say the service was really really disappointing, didn’t get asked for drinks for the whole night after our first drink was brought out, Water wasn’t topped up and took around 35-40 minutes to take away the main plates. Food was good but service really let it down.

Brilliant value for money. Fish and chips particularly excellent, firm white haddock and perfectly crispy batter. We didn't have room for dessert but I bet they were good!

A well decorated restaurant, welcoming staff, the service and the food was exceptional. What we liked was the choice of 2 courses at £20 or 3 courses at £25? see menu. A truly good dining experience highly recommended.

I had the best fish & chips ever and my husband had the venison that he said was better than filet mignon. I then had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert - it brought me back to when I was young and my grandmother would make this dessert. We highly recommend this restaurant. The staff were very attentive!

We visited for the first time to celebrate two special birthdays. Service was attentive and food was amazing. Could not fault it. Great options, everyone found something to their liking. Two courses £20 and 3 was £25 The venison melted in the mouth and worked well with the mash and autumnal vegetables. Burgers were a decent size and a hit with the boys (21, 18 and 14). We left very full and really enjoyed the atmosphere and experience. Music wasn’t particularly to our liking but that was the only negative.

Great selection of food, including a few local dishes and some good vegetarian options. The place wasn’t too busy, but the service was rather slow.

We had an advance booking for 15 where we were required to pre-order. I sent this in over a week in advance and confirmed all was well. The day before the event we were told the menu had changed and that there was to be only a set menu. Obviously we had no choice but to go ahead as we would have struggled to book elsewhere at such short notice. I was going to leave a 1-star review as we were so disappointed about the last minute change, however, the service we received on the night was absolutely amazing. The staff, especially Sara, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Everyone agreed that the food was perfect, although a set-menu, there was a reasonable variety at an extremely fair price. I look forward to a return trip, perhaps just for 2 of us though!

First visit as part of restaurant week. Food was delicious and plentiful. Sadly there is always a but our server took an order for drinks and the sweet was slow in coming then we were told our time slot was ended. The quality of the food will make me want to return though

Aberdeen Restaurant Week. Wow, just wow! Amazing menu (best one in my opinion!) with loads of choice, portions are huge & food beautifully presented. Great to see the restaurant busy as it created a lovely atmosphere & staff were brilliant seeing to everyone's needs. Three courses plus draught soft drink for £20pp - fantastic value. Will definitely return to sample their regular menu, maybe not 3 courses next time as my buttons are straining!!

This was my first delight in Scotland and my last on my week long adventure. If you ask for a sweet Old Fashion make sure it’s made with Monkey Shoulders ❤️ When I come back to Aberdeen this will be a destination that I’ll come back to for sure!!

Had a lovely dinner with my partner and daughter. Despite it being a very busy Friday night, the staff were very attentive and friendly, did not skip over allergies which a lot of places would do!! Lovely skink starter and chicken Caesar salad main with the option for without meat or with salmon too.very nice. Only recommendation would be more Scottish drinks as only Tennents on fraught. Lovely experience and can’t wait to get back

Arrived at restaurant for a 7:15 pm booking on a Sunday only to be told kitchen closes at 7:30. WHY accept the booking?? Contacted by the restaurant after placing this review, offered a £50 voucher for a future visit....watch this space.

Visited Atrium on a busy Friday lunch time couldn’t fault the service it was superb! The Matrie D was courteous engaged in conversation and set the tone for a great meal. The food was amazing in fact the portions were probably a bit to generous! And the aesthetics were brilliant. Would happily recommend and will definitely be back.

Strange to see all the bad experiences on here as I’ve been in twice in the last month and can’t fault it. Food was great and service was quick and friendly. Hard to judge the atmosphere as it was quite quiet but I’ll definitely be back if it continues like this.

Service extremely slow. Staff with glasses was rude. Glasses were watermarked and dirty. My friend found a light coloured hair in her food.

I ordered the brusetta without cheese as I am lactose intolerant. However, when my order came out with the groups starters it contained dairy. The dark haired waitress who took the order out apologised and got another one sent out from the kitchen. The original waitress was nowhere to be seen when the issue needed felt with. I couldn’t eat with my group, very disappointing experience.

Was there with family to celebrate my nephew's graduation and were in the private room. Food was excellent and I had the veggie option haloumi burger which was delicious. Staff were lovely, pleasant and polite providing excellent service. Would definately go again.

Hopeless place. Arrived at 1636 for the lunch menu, ordered drinks when they got round to it. Then were told at 1708 we were too late for the daytime menu. Waste of time. Complete nonsense paid our drinks bill and walked out.

I have been for a meal several times now, the quality and portions of food are great. I would highly recommend. The new menu is brilliant, it's the first time I have tried venison wellington and it was so tender and full of flavour.

Went for a meal with friend last night. 4th time I have been here as the food is so good. However last night, we had to be seated at 3 different tables until we got a table that didn't wobble. The male member of staff was very helpful regarding this. Then we ordered our food. Only one meal came out. They had forgotten to cook the other one. So I was nearly finished, when my friend got her one. They offered us 10% off the bill. Which I suppose wasn't alot given we both had to eat at different times. They were very busy but I think they could use more staff. Also disappointed they have taken the bourbon burger off menu and changed the meal deal from 6pm to 5pm

Really disappointed as Howies was a favourite. Took 3 weeks for them to answer a phone for a booking. Went mid week, wasn't busy with perhaps 7-8 tables. Very short staffed which resulted in long waits between arrival, ordering and each course. Waitress was friendly but waiter was quite sharp. Food was OK but not great and certainly not worth the bill. Hopefully will improve over time.

Went for a meal last night, and arrived on time. However we were greeted by a member of staff who was maybe a bit stressed and rolled her eyes a few times. We were told on a number of occasions how short staffed the resteraunt was and was asked to have some patience. As a customer, we shouldnt be informed of how short staffed a resteraunt is, this isnt our problem, and the thought did cross our mind to try a different resteraunt. We then got told that our table wasnt ready and that we would have to wait for it to be ready, despite there being over 10 free tables within thr resteraunt that we could of sat at. I did ask the waitress if we could just sit at a different table given it was free, but i got told no, because there was parties coming in, at a later time who were allocated to those tables and that they were fully booked. Coming on to the food....it was delicious! Hot, fresh, served quickly, despite being told again that the kitchen was under extreme pressure. As a customer, you dont care, if your food takes 5 minutes longer, but know its fresh, served hot...then whats there to complain about 🤷‍♀️ Good vibe about this place, lovely food, but some more enthusiasm in a few members of staff would of helped..at the end of the day, theres greater things in life to worry about, than being one member of staff short! Would i revisit...yes, i would.

This was one of the best meals we’ve had so far in our trip around UK, Scotland and Wales. Service excellent and friendly also knowledgeable. We had the braised shin of beef and it was the best … the flavours were incredible. Well done.

It started really badly. Had to wait quite a while to get in as there was a group of around 8 women whose booking seemed to have disappeared, until they could show receipt of their booking. I then was met by the tall man with long hair who informed me that my booking was for 12.30 not 13.00. He informed me, fairly loudly that usually our table wouldn’t be available, but on this I occasion I was lucky that I could still have it. I was embarrassed as there was a queue, and when I checked my booking receipt on my phone, I was able to show that my booking was for 13.00 not 12.30. He then jabbed his finger at the booking screen to show me that his system showed 12.30 and that was correct. I suggested to him that as I had evidence that the booking was for 13.00, knowing that was the time I had originally booked it for, that this was the point where he should concede that perhaps the booking system had malfunctioned. Instead he maintained I was wrong and that he didn’t want to argue with me. I’m not sure where his stubbornness came from, I think I was paying for a service and this was not a good one. The restaurant became very busy and I didn’t feel there was quite enough staff to cover the amount of customers. The food was okay, I wouldn’t say it was amazing. The whole experience was marred by the initial woeful first impression. My friend and I would not hurry back due to this. There are many better places to eat in Aberdeen.

Went out for a family meal, table of 7 including a wee toddler. Brilliant restaurant, great selection of dishes especially when everyone in the family prefers different dishes. Highly recommend! Staff where always around and available to help etc ! Great new restaurant to Aberdeen.

Fantastic first visit. Cullen skink was lovely and creamy, calamari was delicious, no rubbery taste. Steak was cooked exactly how I asked, and beef shin melts in your mouth. Only downside was there seems to be a private room you can booked which had very loud karaoke, would have marked down stars for this but it isn't really their fault the party couldn't sing and kept leaving the door open. Perhaps phoning bookings and explaining it could be louder when there's a party in could be a good idea. I can imagine some guests wouldn't take kindly to the noise and would maybe prefer to book a different day.

Excellent food. Very helpful staff. A very good experience all round.

Fantastic food, the main of haggis spring rolls were perfectly moist with crisp pastry. A nice chilie jam and amazing whisky sauce (think it was Laphroaig based) accompanied it. The main was a katsu chicken curry. The panko coated chicken was crispy on the outside and perfectly moist on the inside. The katsu sauce was as expected, full of flavour, and the perfect amount.

Lovely meal great service and relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant is warm and plenty of room around the table. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Service was very poor. Other tables visibly not happy with the service either. We were here for 1 hour 45 minutes for a bread starter and main course. Our food tasted great, cannot fault. The host offered us 20% discount for issues which we had, without us complaining to them. They forgot my sauce for the steak and did not ask for drinks/meals until 35 minutes in. Got in touch with the restaurant beforehand and they did not respond to special requests

We dined here tonight for our daughters birthday & the staff were very accommodating. From beginning to end our experience was great. Staff catered to us taking in a bday cake & holding it until we were ready. Food was amazing, atmosphere was great. Would definitely recommend and will be back to try out the rest of the menu.

We went to the Atrium, Chapel Street, Aberdeen on its first night. The food was very good, Cullen Skink which tasted like it should! The staff were really attentive and helpful and a good ambience in the restaurant. A great experience which we will replicate.

Great to see an independent venue that’s got it right! Food was amazing, service was fantastic, definitely a must for a great dining experience!
