Easy check-in & security experience think I was through into departures within 15 minutes. Plenty of food and drink options both air & landside staff were helpful. Terminal is bright and modern. Immigration hall is a bit dated but from my understanding that's Border force's responsibility however we were through very quickly. I would fly from Luton again quite happily.

Everything about the Luton Airport experience is miserable from the lack of seating to paying for the drop off zone. Recently saw that it’s been voted the world’s 4th worst airport which is no surprise

Beware of the drop off pick up area.. It's a daylight robbery.. A silent scammer.. No barrier or parking ticket and it is not free even for 5 minutes.. What do you expect for a first timer.. Youll get fined 95 pounds only because you dont expect to pay online just for 5mins drop off.. Whoever runs this airport sure making lots money of it

The terminal itself is modern and convenient. But for an hour and three minutes of parking they charge £35. This is a rip off, considering that it’s a very long walk to the parking lot with heavy luggage.

Got a lot better with the DART transfer system. Starts being an air port that can taken seriously. Long security queues often but efficient staff

Welcome to the new Luton airport, new arrivals hall, new duty free, new lounges and new security. Still not my favourite airport by quite a bit. I wish I could say it's a big improvement but it's not. The entire renovation is not designed to make travelers live's easier in any way. They seem to have forgotten to renovate the WiFi and where it can be accessed from, it's still a joke, captive portal struggles to load then just gives an error, see images on review (it's 7pm on a Tuesday so not very busy) and just incase you did get connected expect not to be able to join calls or do any meetings because they seem to be doing QoS which kills any web based calls. (Get yourself a VPN to use the WiFi). Car rental "village" feels like a cardboard shed with half of it under construction if it's cold bring extra layers for when your picking up your rental car. On a positive note the shuttle bus is much more regular now! A second star added/retained for upgrading the scanners at security, a welcomed upgrade! Still hating the size of the forced path through duty free, allow lots of time to weave through the mess of people in the attempt to be a shopping centre. #lookup and refuse to engage and buy. The only positive is the number of restaurants and things to do has increased dramatically, however expect extortionate pricing and disappointing food at most of these (the American smoked meats place after duty free is a great example of this) Nandos was a solid safe bet but that's been removed. Drop off zone is quite a walk from the airport entrance so make sure you are comfortable carrying a large case for the walk to the entrance from the car. If it's raining you will get soaked. There is a different review for the upstairs lounge but spoiler alert, more of the same. TLDR: if you have the option, fly from a different airport, it was a much better experience before the renovation.

I am very pleased with the airport security, lost a phone in duty-free area, been found by security they return it when I arrived back

One of the worst departure lounges possible: workspaces with desks are rare and all occupied because the airport takes a long time to show the gates and all passengers are in a single waiting area. Very dirty and crowded bathrooms.

Experience has improved since the refurbishment

They take perfumes to use with almost no use. Then they figure out that they can create one for themselves. The shipping cost suddenly exceeds the cost of the perfume. Perfumes go to employees. I do not recommend this airport. I've had the same perfume for 6 years and I've never had a problem, suddenly I can't find it with me.

I always use this airport, I get there what I need, they have shops open early.

Too far from London, favor Gatwick and Heathrow

The airport is much improved over recent years. This includes a well organised bus station directly outside the terminal - reducing congestion, & making easier to continue your onward journey. What a shame the airport have decided to 'fleece' passengers who have already paid plenty (ticket, parking, & airport tax) for use of a trolley. Yes, it's £2 to hire a trolley - including for people with kids, the elderly, disabled, etc. A shameful disgrace....

I expected it to be a very small airport, but it was bigger than I thought and there were many places to eat inside the airport, including Burger King!

Most of the time understaffed. Not the first time when we need to wait in the plane, after landing because is no staff.

Small but well organized airport

Be prepared to be bussed in from plane then prepare to wait AGES in passport control with a British passport because there is no queue just for British passports. Furthermore, people abusing the family (children under 10) fastrack - an initiative I fully support but it needs to be overseen by staff. Will avoid this airport in future for short flights.

Surprisingly good and efficient airport. Way more food and seating options than Stansted, security was smooth and overall it felt very organised. Easy to reach aswell with the new DART.

Terrible services! There is no one at lost&found. Total carelessness! Terrible!

I don't know how to fly out of it, but it is very comfortable to fly in. There is no queue for passport control (compared to Heathrow), you can leave in 5 minutes. I recommend taking the Greenline bus to the city, the price is 13 pounds, paying the driver on the spot, this is the cheapest option.

Recently refurbished and you still need to go outside and then take a shuttle to take a train to the capital. What a joke and misuse of funds.

Does not live up to its bad reputation

Never prams when leave the plane!!! How hard is to put prams in the pram arena instead all of them are next to passport control.. always disorganised!

Ok airport, I just wish there were more vegetarian/vegan food options available

I liked the airport. It is not a giant hub like Heathrow, but compact and quite cozy. 56 kilometers from the city center. It is very convenient to get there by National Express bus. True, the ticket price is not affordable). By the way, this airport turns out to be quite old and was opened before the Second World War, in 1938. Registration is quick and there are a lot of counters. There is no shortage of information boards. There are quite large duty-free shops, various cafes and other, more specialized retail outlets, such as optics, etc.

Decent connection to London by train+DART, ability to keep liquids and laptop in hand luggage whiles passing security checks and the airport's small size when you're in rush is a bonus. Is also probably the cleanest out of 5 London airports as well after the recent refurb.

Today on 05 of February flight number W64306 i was treated like a 3rd country pasanger from a woman who boards the plane. She was on the right hand side when you go into checking passport and boarding card. Never been treated like that on airport. She screamed on me and threatened to not board me.

My first experience using Luton Airport was unfortunately quite disappointing. The airport was incredibly chaotic and busy, making navigating the various check-in and security processes quite stressful. The crowds and general disorganization made the whole experience feel overwhelming. To add to the frustration, I encountered some rude staff members, which only exacerbated the already stressful situation. Overall, my first impression of Luton Airport was not a positive one, and I hope that future experiences, or improvements to the airport's management, will offer a smoother and more pleasant journey for travellers. I return next weekend for a holiday, hopefully it’s a better experience

I will leave 3 stars cause usually I have good experience here but not today ,my face foundation bought in Poland was banned at security check ,so I can't take product that I bought recently and flew here few weeks ago and then first way was ok ?the test went bad ,but what Im gonna do to someone with my foundation bought in the country that Im flying to today , why was banned ?! What is the purpose ? Maybe better start focus to search for real danger in This country instead of having problem with Simple face foundation .This is ridiculus!

I'm sitting in plane for last 25min waiting for person to open doors for terminal...

I absolutely despise how there was a single security screening xray running (on other side there were 2) during peak times 10 - 12 AM monday. EDIT The waiting was reduced greatly. I did not wait at all this time

Returning passport control. 30 minute wait in the corridor. Understaffed, I presume.

Contact with customer service is terrible. I call all day and I wait 1h56min and nobody answer the phone.

Got through security etc very quickly

Toilets for disabled are disgusting. It looks like nobody cleans there or do this one time per god knows how many hours. They still didn't fixed the issue with parking. It was 3 years ago? Constantly under construction.

You can't beat London Luton, great airport, no queues, straight through the airport onto the plane

I always fly in Luton to Europe.

Drop off zone is absolutely bad near mid stat car park,not trolleys,not any cover for rain really better to use different airports ;)

I dislike all airports as they just want to rip you off at every possible opportunity. Luton is OK and if its not too busy I can bear it. Security is generally very efficient. Some of the gates are quite far so keep an eye on your flight time and departure gate.

The service was quite fast, by the time we got off the plane, our package was waiting downstairs.

2025 revisit Flying out: quick security, better shopping and food experience but very busy morning with too few places to sit and relax. Return: over 30 minutes waiting for luggage. Shameful. Easter Monday flying out. By midday the airport is busy but very well orchestrated. 5 minutes to check in luggage. Pre-booked assistance for elderly relative worked like a charm. Very kind team members at every point. Parking is completely overpriced IMO. £5 for drop off is rip-off and any parking short term, mid term or long term is overpriced for remote airport with plenty of space.

Good clean airport but very busy in mornings due to majority of early morning European flights. Arrive in plenty of time to get through their security . Good options of Duty Free and shopping . Luton Dart expensive but only way to arrive to airport from train station … which is the only disappointment.

An infect and ugly place. The floor and toilets are dirty every time! And they don’t have a place for smoking which is frustrating. Maybe your flight has a delay, you cannot smoke! 🥴

Modern airport, you can pass the access points very easily, high-performance technology, cleanliness, friendly staff, shops with various offers. In short, a modern airport with all the necessary facilities.

If it wasn't for the border control amd uber pickup 10 min walking this could have been a decent airport. Passport control is a joke. 2 agents for 400 people. Rest decided to call it a day. Waited for 1h upon arrival to pass passport control.

Chaos and dirt that characterizes the airport in short. Both the arrival and departure side are crowded, it is almost impossible to sit down. Due to the lack of information boards and intelligent employees, it is difficult and cumbersome to leave the airport.

No Uber pickup nearby. Really far to walk. Pickup area at the airport advertised incorrectly. Inexcusable 2025.

Good free parking with transfers all day long. Sometimes transfer is late, and because it's late, we end up paying park . Very busy and loads of works everywhere.

Great airport, efficient. Not too big of an airport but a great alternative to big names such as Gatwick. Constantly expanding to new destinations and new airlines coming such as Jet2, as well as the current roster selection of easyJet, Ryanair, Wizzair and a variety of others.

I hadn’t been to Luton Airport for over 9 years and needless to say it’s unrecognisable! The bus service is fantastic and drops off right outside the terminal and runs pretty much 24 hours a day. Service is limited over the weekend especially on Sundays. The inside is amazing. Well laid out and clean. Plenty of staff are walking around. The signage is very impressive. Screens are clearly visible displaying flight details. There are nice selection of shops to have a bite to eat or purchase snacks and gifts. Ample seating areas are dotted around the terminal. There is a fantastic prayer room complete with washing facilities. It’s one of the best I have ever seen. A small seating area too should you wish to sit down. Big shout out to Hamza Rehan for this impeccable customer service! A very smiley and helpful young man.

Usual and stress free if you are not in rush like others sleeping customers because they are late every one is guilty. Advertising the gate should be improved slightly to more easy way for foreign elderly people’s for more assistance.

Everything is fine, the airport is well marked and you can't get lost after all.

I was traveling with Wizz air. The plane ticket it is clearly written how much luggage, size and weight we can have. There were no problems with my luggage on the flight from Sarajevo, but on the flight from Lutton from London to Sarajevo, customs at the airport charged me €70 in fees for the same luggage. they said it was the airline's policy. I said that I traveled from Sarajevo to London with the same one and that they should explain to me the reason for the charge, but everything was the same, but they didn't want to talk. very poor behavior

Airport on a human scale...we find a duty free you can have breakfast lunch dinner sometimes the staff is unpleasant...especially at click and collect... And staff speaking exclusively in English in many stores which is not easy when you don't speak English...

Check in was easy. Security was very quick to get through. Lots of places to eat.

Nice modern airport, including shops and restaurants. But 0.5L of beer for £7...and 0.7L of water for £1.5-2. Toilets in abundance and always kept clean. I had a good feeling.

Special assistant staff were fantastic

Pretty shocking experience this morning using the oversized baggage dept. Must have been 60 people in the queue took almost an hour...the 2 people working needed to have extra help they did a good job but much more help needed.

Crowded. Not enough plugs to charge your electronics. Poor food options.

My parents-in-law, who are in their 70s, recently arrived at Luton Airport. I used the Express Parking at Luton Airport and encountered a frustrating experience. While leaving, I did not see any pay barriers or clear instructions about making payment after exiting, nor did I see reminders to ‘please pay online after leaving.’ It did not seem safe or reasonable to stop or reverse against traffic to find the pay station. Unfortunately, a week later, I received a parking charge. I believe that clearer signage or reminders at the exit would significantly help to prevent this type of confusion. Furthermore, the situation did not end there. I received the penalty and paid it on 06/12/24 at 8:53:18, and I received confirmation that my payment was completed. However, I recently received a letter from Debt Collectors stating that I have to pay £165 due to the aforementioned parking ticket. I could not find my payment in the transactions on my bank app. Therefore, I contacted the bank and asked for clarification. They confirmed that the payment was REVERTED by the RECEIVER. After spending an entire day phoning the Debt Collector, APCOA, and Luton Airport, I understood that I cannot appeal now, as my case falls outside the appeal term. Please check your Luton penalty payment five days after making it to avoid ending up in the hands of Debt Collectors.

It's OK airport. But toilets are DISASTER! If u r departing, and are hungry, stop and take a snack in "CHOPSTIX NOODLE BAR" very delicious and not expensive.

Horrible queue 30 minute queue for the passport machine for it only to send half to the border patrol officer for another 1.5 hour wait….

One of the London airports for flying to Europe. We used it many times in recent years. Definitely highly recommended.

The airport has grown a lot in recent years, but despite everything, security checks run smoothly (unfortunately, delays are most often blamed on passengers who find it difficult to put down their trays). Lots of space to sit, decent selection of places to eat, drink, etc. As far as I'm concerned, this is definitely the best airport in the London area, especially since now traveling between the airport and London is much faster and more efficient.

Extremely disappointed there is no signs of drop off pay . As other airport have a barrier when you come out then you need to pay but this airport did not have a barrier or no sign if you have to pay for drop off or not. After a week I have got a part ticket which have to pay £25. Absolutely disgusting service they just need to take people money for no reason.

Ridiculous when you off airplane no one give you back pushchair. To passport checking no any pushchair for baby. If you have small baby you need to walk few hundred yard with suitcases and kids on your hand because places where should be pushchair is always empty. Well, I've already been to a nicer one, but compared to Poprad Tatry, it's great😁, just the climate is terrible, after an hour it's unbearable

I flew with my family to Naples in December 2024, it was a very smooth journey getting to Luton Airport from Central London. We just booked our train ticket on Trip.com departing from Saint Pancras. In about 35 minutes, we arrived at Luton Airport. In early December, the airport was not crazy busy. It still took us about 20 mins to get through the security check. There are many shops and restaurants open. There is a tiny kid’s area. Follow the signs to gates 1-6, and it's just around the corner from Pret A Manger near the stairs.

Lovely small airport, hassle free security check. Plenty lovely restaurants and shops. Very close and easy transfer to city centre St. Pancras train station. (20-30mins to city centre by train EMR)

Nice and quiet airport compared to the large Heathrow. However, it is a little further away from the city. Connections to the city are reasonable. For the train (Thameslink) you have to change at Luton Parkway. The unmanned DART shuttle that takes you there about 2 kilometers costs almost 5 pounds. The advantage is that you can check in with your bank card. Alternative transport from the airport there are taxis and of course the National Express or local buses to London or other cities.

i think that all airports work over capacity! That's why we can't find any available sits for sitting. you must do shopping for sitting if you are still lucky! people sit on the floor. this airport is worse than stansted! you can find benches to sit at least in Stansted

A busy airport, reminder to new visitors there is a charge to drop off outside the front of the terminal building (see the website). There are short stay car parks, long stay car park however the common sense advice is to use publuc transport your visit to the airport will go much smoother less queues congestion on the airport approach and surrounding roads. The airport is served by Lut Airport P'way station and a DART raised transit system operates off an adjoining building to the rail station and for the price of ticket(see Luton DART website for prices) takes you to the front of the airport building. The airport serves a wide, and broad set of destinations European, Pan European refer to the Londn Luton airport website for a full list.

Honestly it is better than I expected, it is small but it has everything you need, of course it will not be like a Heathrow or Gatwick but in my opinion it is fine. There are several transport options (Train from St Pancreas or bus from Victoria Station and both are very good)

A hoorible place - and I've been to airports. Used it only since my plans changed and I had to get a flighy from London within a short notice. You'll need at lease 1.5 to get there from London, including a 1 hr trip in a bus, where you have to pray for not having traffic jams. The place is like an enormous labyrinth. You find yourself going back and forth for check in, security, gates and more. Worst check in experience - incredibly slow and they invented a rule for me to pay more for baggage. Security is horrific with 3 parallel lines for the belongings and the physical security check so there's a complete mess and stress.

Worst experience ever. First time travelling with a baby they refuse to let us go straight to security with the baby crying they insisted that we queue with a hungry baby. Then they made it difficult for us at security, the search, they binned my bay food, our baby is allergic he can only eat this food. They made us regret flying this was terrible.

I had to drive in and out of the pick up/drop off zone a couple of times as the 40 minute waiting period cut-off wasn't long enough to collect a passenger from a delayed flight.

You can leave the airport quickly even though it's EU 😃
