Well, I've already been to a nicer one, but compared to Poprad Tatry, it's great😁, just the climate is terrible, after an hour it's unbearable

I flew with my family to Naples in December 2024, it was a very smooth journey getting to Luton Airport from Central London. We just booked our train ticket on Trip.com departing from Saint Pancras. In about 35 minutes, we arrived at Luton Airport. In early December, the airport was not crazy busy. It still took us about 20 mins to get through the security check. There are many shops and restaurants open. There is a tiny kid’s area. Follow the signs to gates 1-6, and it's just around the corner from Pret A Manger near the stairs.

i think that all airports work over capacity! That's why we can't find any available sits for sitting. you must do shopping for sitting if you are still lucky! people sit on the floor. this airport is worse than stansted! you can find benches to sit at least in Stansted

Quick and easy checking-in process. Security was also not bad at all. I was quite impressed with the number and variety of stores in the lounge area

Lovely small airport, hassle free security check. Plenty lovely restaurants and shops. Very close and easy transfer to city centre St. Pancras train station. (20-30mins to city centre by train EMR)

Nice and quiet airport compared to the large Heathrow. However, it is a little further away from the city. Connections to the city are reasonable. For the train (Thameslink) you have to change at Luton Parkway. The unmanned DART shuttle that takes you there about 2 kilometers costs almost 5 pounds. The advantage is that you can check in with your bank card. Alternative transport from the airport there are taxis and of course the National Express or local buses to London or other cities.

A busy airport, reminder to new visitors there is a charge to drop off outside the front of the terminal building (see the website). There are short stay car parks, long stay car park however the common sense advice is to use publuc transport your visit to the airport will go much smoother less queues congestion on the airport approach and surrounding roads. The airport is served by Lut Airport P'way station and a DART raised transit system operates off an adjoining building to the rail station and for the price of ticket(see Luton DART website for prices) takes you to the front of the airport building. Honestly it is better than I expected, it is small but it has everything you need, of course it will not be like a Heathrow or Gatwick but in my opinion it is fine. There are several transport options (Train from St Pancreas or bus from Victoria Station and both are very good)

A hoorible place - and I've been to airports. Used it only since my plans changed and I had to get a flighy from London within a short notice. You'll need at lease 1.5 to get there from London, including a 1 hr trip in a bus, where you have to pray for not having traffic jams. The place is like an enormous labyrinth. You find yourself going back and forth for check in, security, gates and more. Worst check in experience - incredibly slow and they invented a rule for me to pay more for baggage. Security is horrific with 3 parallel lines for the belongings and the physical security check so there's a complete mess and stress.

Worst experience ever. First time travelling with a baby they refuse to let us go straight to security with the baby crying they insisted that we queue with a hungry baby. Then they made it difficult for us at security, the search, they binned my bay food, our baby is allergic he can only eat this food. They made us regret flying this was terrible.

You can leave the airport quickly even though it's EU 😃

I had to drive in and out of the pick up/drop off zone a couple of times as the 40 minute waiting period cut-off wasn't long enough to collect a passenger from a delayed flight.

The short/mid stay is still undergoing repairs, allowing some time for walking around 10 minutes and queus to the car park as well as 10 minutes. Staff is incredibly helpful. Overall experience is great. At the moment there's still 1h free parking.

It is a great little airport but be sure to have everything sorted before you go. The mobile signal is very poor, and the free WiFi is shockingly bad. It has to be the strangest queuing system of any UK airport. Huge bottlenecks at the body scanners. Sort it out Luton!

It's OK, as far as airports go, security was a bit chaotic

Quite busy and crowded place. The place is quite tidy. The prices are very high, 2-10 times the same good in another place!

December 24, here at Luton Airport again, flying out to Warsaw, Poland. Was lovely to see a school choir inside, singing festive songs😀 It brought a fantastic atmosphere to the normally dull time here! So I sat and enjoyed their festive songs👌😀 Security was fast today, as there were no queues!! First time ever🥳🥳 July 24, flew back in to Luton Airport. It did seem quite efficient today,we went through passport control was quickly. Maybe there wasn't many flights in at our time??🤷‍♂️ June 2024, update at Luton airport. Here for another flight out. The main airport was very clean looking. I was advised my flight company to allow more time for security! I was here 3 hours before. The security baggage control was so slow, going through at 11am, though there wasn't much of a queue when I got there! There must of been training going on, because so many extra staff behind the scenes. Though no notification of this! There were pm many trays on the conveyor, it all ground to a halt!!😡 guess probably took well over 30 mins to get through, without a big queue🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ My bag was searched, the guy in charge never changed his gloves while handling the contents multiple bags! Surely he will be cross contaminating, potentially moving the trace of any kind of drug to each bag!!!!!!!!! If someone would be carrying or using a drug? I thought this was a very bad situation! Update on Luton Airport, back here again 28th September, a couple of weeks after my first review below. Was picking my partner up from a flight in. It took her over an hour to get through passport control this time!!😡😡😡 This was an absolute joke! Whether they didn't have enough staff on, to cope with it all? Luckily I didn't park up, otherwise it would of cost a fortune during that waiting time! Grrrr😡😡 First time in years back to Luton Airport. Flew in today, all went pretty smoothly really. Though their toilet cubicles were very messy and dirty! Really not nice! A bad show to be honest! Some people's first impression of England, being a horrible mess🤦‍♂️!! Some nice coffee shops and food places here now, which was good, as we had quite a time wait for our coach arrival time. We had an onward national express coach to Victoria Station. We booked our coach tickets weeks in advance online, but on the day, it was complete havoc out the front!😡🤦‍♂️ Visitors just turning up and buying their tickets on the day! There was no indication of where each coach bay would queue from! No order of pre booked ticket people! We had another booked coach from Victoria Station to Swindon. The amount of people queued and poor organisation here, we thought we wouldn't even get on the first coach out, which we were booked onto! Luckily one guy there that we spoke to, understood our concerns, and had some common sense, pulled us out of the queue in the end and got us onto the coach first. What a top man👏👏 This needs to be addressed very quickly and some kind of system put in place out there👍 Will be back here again very soon, so let's hope people in charge read reviews, and puts a proper system into place. Thanks.

Very large airport, caps are lost

Was windy day also easy jet staff they are not good .

The Terminal 1 and drop-off parking are now fully open. I feel that the signage in T1 parking could improve to make it clearer for pedestrians to walk to the lifts and main terminal building.

Great airport. Security is quick. Feels good. Chaiwala is halal and great. The boarding gate section is like an old bus station and needs a revamp though lol .other than that, it's great.

Long waits to get through customs on arrival.

No enough power outlet to charge phones other than that is was good

Busy as always, you have everything you need around there. Probably not the best place you want to spend the night in, and if you can pay for the lounge whilst you're waiting for your plane it will most likely be worth it than being in all the noise.

Drop off zone is absolutely bad near mid stat car park,not trolleys,not any cover for rain really better to use different airports ;)

Shambles. Short term parking, drop off and collection hopeless. No consideration for airport users who are made to feel like they are not wanted at the airport at all. A national disgrace.

First and last time I use Luton airport! Wizzar staff rude not enough trening! My daughter (has critical illness) was sick on plane the staff was angry said i needed to clean after my daughter, what i did already! My daughter was very poorly i asked for small wormit bag they give black big bin bag ! What was disrespectful to us ! Not recommended!

Security can be hit or miss re the queues. Just depends what time you arrive. I have both queued and gone straight through.

The pedestrian access from the mid stay car park has moved to the other side of the road so it takes a few minutes more to walk as it gets you to the other side of the airport now.

I recently traveled through Luton Airport, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Overcrowding was a significant issue, with no apparent effort to distribute passengers evenly throughout the complex. This lack of planning left many areas overwhelmed, making it difficult to find adequate seating or a comfortable place to wait. There was also a noticeable shortage of charging points for mobile devices, which is particularly frustrating in today’s travel environment. Additionally, the cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities were disappointing. Floors were dirty and showed signs of neglect, with cracks and missing sections, while much of the furniture was either dirty, broken, or heavily worn. To add to the frustration, the roof was leaking in some areas, and several escalators were out of order, causing inconvenience and delays. The flight announcement system needs urgent improvement. Gates were often announced very late, leaving passengers rushing to board with little time to spare. A more visible and comprehensive display system for announcements would greatly enhance the passenger experience. On the positive side, new shops and restaurants have opened, which is a step forward. However, such developments are undermined by the overall decline in quality and upkeep. For a major airport in the capital of the country, the standards should be much higher. Proper maintenance, improved crowd management, and better communication systems are essential to ensure a smoother and more pleasant experience for travelers.

Probably one of the better airports in England safer than Gatwick and with staff that actually help

How do I politely say something compared to any of the other airports here in the UK 😅 Trying to claim to be a London airport when it's nowhere near London and you cannot use a Freedom Pass. Recent upgrades, like the train link to St Pancras, have significantly improved the airport. However, certain areas, such as the restrooms, still need attention. If you can....avoid Luton as much as possible!

I've been to Luton a few times over the years and have never encountered miserable staff. They all seem so happy to be there and to help. Whereas Gatwick is a cattle market and nobody has a smile on their face. Luton is by far the best airport for customer service. Although the walk to the plane steps and the wait to go up was horrific in -1C windy weather.

A normal, somewhat tidy airport. The airports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are much larger and more beautiful than London Airport

The airport is much smaller, but therefore more user-friendly than Stanstead. There are water fountains. Good WiFi. Very efficient and quick security check - I wish they were half as busy in Berlin. Much faster and cheaper than Stanstead by train to central London. The main disadvantage is the absurdly expensive Dart train from the airport to the regular train station - 4.8 pounds for a few-minute ride - it's daylight robbery.

Super quick and easy trip. I definitely recommend it! Lovely and calming time, lots of fun going to all the shops. 😀

But the operation of the border guard is a tragedy, there are few guards, it's like blood from the nose, someone put up four gates for automatic check-in, none of them work. The lady who operates it gave up after five minutes, either lack of training or I don't know what. It's impossible to make it in time for a train with such service. I suggest going to the UK to see how it works. Today I arrived to see how this country is supposed to work.

I only went through security, everything was fine, I waited a bit at the scanner, I arrived early at the airport, the people were nice, fast boarding, from the gate announcement, the waiting area was ok.

It's a busy airport with all that an airport offers in the way of duty free shopping and cafes and eating places whilst waiting for your flight. Arrivals are swift

Parking and park rates absolute nightmare

Going through Security is not for the faint-hearted. The queuing system ensures you walk at least 3 kms without actually getting anywhere. Departures lounge has inadequate seating, and it's all very congested. My least favourite of the London airports.

Mid stay park system works. In Drop off and pick up really easy and excellent view of the planes!

The worst UK airport I have been thru. With one or two exceptions disinterested staff, and it seemed badly understaffed, resulting in massive queues everywhere. Not anywhere near London Stansted which is way the best London airport.

Very badly arranged have to walk miles and miles as people send you different directions. There is no shuttle buses. Feels, looks and it is a chaos. Total atter disorganised, narrow piece of road for pedestrian to walk, not rainproof. The pricing is extortionate. Only allowed 5min drop off pick up for £5. I would Not recommended it at all but have to use it for flying.

Convenient, efficient and well run

Chaos the assistance team sent my elderly sister to.the mid term car park despite her repeatedly telling them we were waiting in the LONG term car park a routine we have done many times !!! It was only an off duty member of staff who stayed with my sister whilst we relocated to the mid term that was in the middle of reconstruction that reduced her anxiety . Please listen to what your customer is telling you assistance team and don't patronise them

It's okay as airports go, not much else to say.

Dirty toilets which was disgusting...staff looked miserable and robotic.

Great security don’t need to take your shoes off they scan it whilst on your feet on a machine one foot at a time

Since one of the multi storey car parks burned down trying to park there is nigh on impossible. All one can do is drive round and round in circles in the mid stay car park until a space becomes available. Best avoid this airport until the parking has been sorted out. I understand they're still arguing over who will pay to rebuild the multi storey one which burned down! Since writing the above an express drop off and pick up has been opened in front of the Terminal building making life much easier.

Meet and greet was easy at the mid-term car park. Horrendous queues at passport control today, 8th Nov '24. Dropped my rating to reflect this.

This is a fairly quiet airport by London standards, especially at this time if year (early November). Security was lightly staffed, but still the time it took to get through was just around 20 - 30 minutes. The duty free area was not too busy either. I was disappointed by the variety and quantity of restaurants or places to pick up food and prices were still higher than high streets. All in all, not an unpleasant experience.

Took a while to get to passport control, but not 2 bad, I was just a bit tired.

Arrived here, queue to get out through immigration took over 2 hours as only 1 person was checking for the all passport queue. European and families with under 10’s were going much quicker with 8-10 border control officers.

Queues coming back to Luton are way too long. Not all the self scan machines were working.

Not London but neither is Stansted, however Luton is the least well served by public transport. However, it is better than Stansted for road access and parking, if you don't mind driving minor roads to get there. Once inside it is relatively quiet with a good choice of shops and cafes, as always much more expensive than outside.

Not the best I use it every week for work. The new scanners help however there are several lanes lying unused which makes it overly busy.

Hour and half waiting for suitcases apparently they had had one lot of baggage handlers for a load of planes absolutely ridiculous

Nice airport near London, from where you can travel to London in 1 hour!

Suitcase was lost. 2 days without it. They did not deliver to my hotel when found on 2nd day. Collected it on 3rd day when I was flying back home. All in tact. Helpful staff.

Luton was once, many moons ago, my favourite airport. But now it is so badly organised that it causes nothing but stress. I understand that it is undergoing remodelling but maybe until it is completed it would be an idea to have less flights running through it. Tonight, when getting off the plane, the jumbly lines of passengers trying to get through clearance was insane. Not a good welcome for people visiting London for the first time. I must say though that the staff (one man in particular at passport control) were very very kind and understanding and helped myself get through quickly when they were alerted to my need for getting home as speedily as possible. Thank you kind man on passport control.

Every arrival place is impressive. Nice people and despite the queue, check-in was very quick.

If you've been to Luton, the airport isn't any better. Minimal staff in security and the whole place feels like it's a cold war bunker. No photos as I wouldn't wish to scare anyone.
