We chose Duad to its reputation, menu , association with the Monad team and its on our doorstep. It’s a fun quirky space with its vinyl DJ and off the wall decor . On a purely personal , probably out of date old fogey that I am , I prefer to book online or through a website which made booking tricky as I don’t have instagram. On arrival , the menu was a sort of pop -up from sister establishment Jumon which was enjoyable , but I wouldn’t return for more veggie food. I was really looking forward to the regular menu. The food was really good although the pad Thai was more a chefs interpretation and not totally authentic . A couple of service errors was serving our 2 dishes a good 5 minutes apart and having 2 gin and tonics with flat tonic taken from an already open large bottle ( small tinned /bottled mixers are what you expect nowadays ). However it was nice to receive complimentary replacements free of charge . Next stop Monad methinks .

Best Ulster fry in Belfast. Great options offering anything you want for breakfast. Good quality and reasonably priced.

Great service. Well priced. Music provided but not so loud that you couldn't hold a conversation

Popped by here on NYE Eve, for a Monday evening there was live acoustic music being played in a chilled ambiance but the punters were all singing along too. Hidden little gem which doesn’t look much from the outside. Children allowed in and plenty of seating too

I hadn't been here in a couple of years but decided to call in with my sons on christmas eve while out shopping. I had been telling them how nice their fish and chips were, so we order 2 cod and chips and a Christmas dinner, we were brought 3 lots of fish amd chips had to ask them to take one away and bring the dinner that we had ordered, it took so long to come the 2 that had fish and chips were almost finished eating leaving one with nothing to do but twiddle fingers. Also very disappointed with the small size of the fish, I had been singing the praises before this, yes I know we will be told it's the size of fish when caught but for £18 for one portion of fish and chips (could have been dearer i can't remember) and £4 for a glass of coke which tasted watered down it really was not worth the cost. The waiter was lovely seated us very quickly but so disappointed in the portion size related to cost don't think we will be back in a hurry especially as we had travelled from Bangor.
