I really liked the atmosphere of that place! You can feel like you travel to new undiscovered location. Cocktails were rlly tasty 10/10 and food too, especially veggie dumplings! Prices are reasonably. Enjoy!

Llegamos aquí para una reserva las 8 y nos sorprendió ver que no había miembros del personal cerca de la entrada al asiento. Finalmente encontramos a un miembro del personal de asiento y nos sentamos en una mesa cerca de la ventana, bonito. Pedimos un cóctel y pedimos nuestro camarero para consejos sobre lo que pedir. Él fue muy servicial y nos dimos cuenta de lo que queríamos, genial. Por desgracia, la música era tan ruidoso que apenas tienen una conversación. Fui anoche con mi novio por la noche de la fecha y una mesa reservada. Nos sentaron enseguida y menús dado. Había leído las críticas y esperaba a toda prisa, pero no estábamos en todo era a nuestro propio ritmo. Este podría haber sido pensado debido a el lugar tenía gente alrededor de la frente, pero parecía más tranquila, entonces los fines de semana, así que vaya durante la semana si no quieres a toda prisa. La comida es verdaderamente excepcional tan delicioso y tan buena relación calidad-precio para estar en el centro de Londres y nos gustó mucho y sin duda volveremos. Sólo una advertencia, pero creemos que el personal no están en inglés, así que resulta difícil entender, así que prepárate para hablar lentamente y decir cosas varias veces que es el único inconveniente de este lugar.

No estoy seguro si era un jueves por la noche, sin embargo, el ambiente parecía bastante frío. El servicio era un poco lapso, ya que los clientes no pueden también de madrugada, y esperamos un tiempo antes de ser servido. Sólo tuvimos un par de copas, y elegir moverse a otro lugar.

Llegamos a las 7:30 de un jueves por la noche el bar estaba lleno, pero el restaurante estaba vacío, nos llevaron a una mesa tardó 20 minutos en llegar nuestras bebidas y más de una hora más tarde todavía estábamos esperando para la comida, no habría sido tan malo si la camarera era conseguir las bebidas sin embargo fue una tarea difícil para ella tomar nuestra orden... Fue una noche terrible, volvería la comida y nada más

Mis dos hijas llegaron a Londres y tenían que cumplir su Tutor uni en Shoreditch, cogí el otro a este establecimiento de diversión y pedimos hija expecting_nfs número 2 para llegar rápidamente. En su lugar, la comida llegó rápidamente y mi hija número 2, muy tarde!

Mi hermana reservado este restaurante por mi cumpleaños antes de un concierto. Le pareció que era un buen lugar porque había una buena comida 2 semanas antes y fue capaz de estancia en su mesa para un precioso 4 horas disfrutando del ambiente y música. Por desgracia nos pidieron que dejar esta vez después de unas 2 horas muy cortas. No nos habían hablado sobre esto cuando llamando para reservar el restaurante y no habría reservado si esto era conocido. El personal era muy amable y no estábamos ansiosos por nosotros para salir. Un servicio pobre no volveremos! No es lo que cabe esperar de cualquier bien moderno restaurante o bar. Muy decepcionante.

Great cocktails, good Chinese food (best I found in the neighbourhood), unconcerned staff but nice place to have eat during the week.

As there were a lot of us we had the set menu. Unfortunately all the courses came out At the same time. The food was ok but got cold quickly as it was passed around.

The food is great! The portions are well worth the money and the best thing, in my opinion is, that the food comes out as it's ready so it is piping hot. The 2-4-1 cocktails are good too. March was my second visit which was with my family, I had an equally great time when I went with my friends for my birthday in January. I've tried both the set menu and the menu where you get to choose what you want- both were delicious. Don't be fooled by the set menu by the way, you may not think its a lot of food but it really is!

not been here in a long time and went in , we arrived early and it was happy hour. half price cocktails and four beers for a tenner. we ordered a large selection of food and drinks , couldn't fault the food or service, will def go back again.

I've been to the Drunken Monkey a few times during different times of the day. Whether coming for after work drinks or a night out at one of their themed parties the staff have always been lovely, drinks liberally poured and the atmosphere has been spot on.I always recommend this venue to friends and family as the dim sum, cocktails and party nights are all great.

All day dim sum (delicious)and amazing cocktails! Could drink their Mojitos all day long!!!! As well as dim sum they also have a choice of rice and noodle dishes. Very lively place and staff are very friendly. I went a few years ago and it seems as though its even better now. Would definitely recommend a visit here!

I have been here a few times now, and the drinks are decent, same for the food. I however had a horrible experience tonight and am not sure if I will come back. I live in the neighbourhood and it's disappointing when a restaurant is willing to put its credibility on the line for just 30 pounds. However I am writing this review tonight as I am extremely disappointed in the service received. 2 friends and I ordered food, a bottle of wine and 1 mojito. we ate, had a sip of the cocktail and a glass of wine and head out for a cigarette, leaving our jackets at the table and asking the waiter not to take anything away. 5 minutes before standing up we made an order for another dish. Smoked and walked back in. The table was empty. When we asked for our things back they were extremely annoyed. They told us we finished our bottle, our drinks and that the bottle was upside-down completely finished. Now...not being used to be called a liar I asked to talk to the manager, and after talking to 3 different waiters before him we were all called liars, in between the lines, for multiple times. The manager then sent us a bottle of water and one mojito. As we had ordered and drunk 2 glasses of wine of a 23 pound bottle we wanted the remaining bit. End of the story we argued for about 20 minutes, quite embarrassing to say the truth, and the manager finally said that the bottle of wine would not have been on the bill. We asked for the check and of course we were also charged for the food we ordered before smoking and never even saw. Needless to say we paid and walked out as we didn't want to argue about it any longer. Here again is the example of how a restaurant should NOT behave, especially for preferring to take the money out of the whiter's pay check for his mistake instead of giving a bottle of wine on the house in order to keep 3 frequent clients. THANKS FOR NOTHING.

We visited with my friend on a saturday afternoon. The place was rather quiet which was nice. We ordered lots of food to share. Our favorites dishes were the singapore noodles, the crispy duck and the prawn dumplings. We however hated the veggie dumplings that were filled with a sort of puree...The service was great and quick. Will go back again!

Took part in a cocktail making class for a friends birthday and it was brilliant! We made three drinks each and had constant snacks to go along with it. Afterwards we ate in the private dining room upstairs and that was delicious. All in all a very good night and will return!

Food was good although nothing exceptional. Music is very loud so difficult to hear each other and we were in a large group. Overall a friendly place but perhaps not ideal if you go for a relaxed resto and want to have a nice conversation.

First thing to note - this place is primarily a bar, with a few tables in the front for folks who'd like to eat in this atmosphere. Great for carrying on an evening of drinking with friends, but don't expect a large table to be able to hear one another from one end to the other. It was sometimes difficult to get service, as the servers were often back in the kitchen rather than around you, but they were really friendly and helpful when they were around. Food was pretty good (though nothing special), came in bountiful quantities (you will not go hungry) and was great value (£17 for set menu for a table-full of dishes). Cocktails were good, and they had an excellent selection - a great place for drinking!All-in-all, excellent for a stop-over on a night of drinking in Shoreditch, but not a destination in itself for the food. Enjoy it for the cocktails and the vibe.

We went to this place twice while in London. It is quite noisy, but good noise. Lots of very happy customers, very happy staff. The food is great, lots of it. We will go back many times.

Das Drunken Monkey ist einers unserer Lieblingsplätze in London und immer ein guter Einstieg für eine Partynacht in Shoredich. Der Mix macht es auf der einen Seite ein trendiger Club mit guten DJs, eine Cocktailbar (empfehlenswert der Pink Pigeon), lecker basic Chinese Food mit sehr gutem preis Leistungsverhältnis und das ganz in der Atmospäre einer Opiomhöle.

The asian food is really good and the music unexpected, which is a good point and far better than other asian restaurants.Good place for dating or partying

Called in for lunch with a client. Not been before but I had heard good reports. Great food all very tasty. Service was first class. Perfect for a business lunch without the chaos.

Wasn't sure what to expect from the outside of the Drunken Monkey, but was pleasantly surprised. We were a little late for our booking so had lost our table, we were quickly found a new one in the bar. The food was lovely, as we're the mojitos! Great music choices too.

The waitress staff were very attentive and we were seated straight away. Unfortunately this was right by the toilets and it wasn't long before the smell began to drift towards our table. The food was fairly standard Chinese and arrives very quickly. Noodles average, quarter duck delicious and the side of prawns much too greasy for my taste... Perhaps made more difficult to enjoy by our unfortunately placed table.

As u walk in the place is quite noisy and unsuitable for an enjoyable dinner with friends but if u sit at the back the atmosphere is just right.Food is very reasonably priced and arrives quickly. It's very tasty as well and ideal for sharing.Avoid the toilet at all cost, they stick and will make u lose ur appetite.

Booked a table through a deal. Dim Sums were absolutely fine. Service was poor and the two pitchers of cocktails had a negligible amount of alcohol. We asked the waiter about this(after he returned from his outdoor excursion), he claimed that the management told him to put a double shot into each pitcher!!??? It's a shame, we would have stayed to order more, instead we left for The Greedy Cow which served us alcoholic drinks

We went here as a friend bought a KGBdeal for 6 dim sum and two pitchers of cocktails between 4 people. The food was good, can't really fault them on that, but we weren't impressed by the cocktails. The Drunken Monkey in Shoreditch has a reputation for great cocktails, so when we ordered a pitcher of mojito and one of mango julep we expected good things. How disappointing. The mojito was tasteless and colourless. Literally just like soda water. We wanted to flag the waiter down to tell him, but he'd disappeared and he was the only one working. When we told him he agreed to make another but he mentioned it was made with two shots of rum per pitcher. I do hope, for the sake of their full price customers, that they are ripping off people who have a voucher because if I paid for a pitcher of cocktail and was told it contained two shots I would want my money back.I'm sure it's not the waiter's fault as he said he was told to put two shots in (I assume by management). At the price of the deal, which was quite good, I don't think any of us would have minded the deal being "a cocktail" each, but since it was sold as two pitchers we felt a bit cheated. So much so that we took the extra money we would have spent on more dishes and went for burgers at the nearby Greedy Cow. Try the kangaroo...I

On the day it seems that their delivery was late as barrels, bottles and food were being delivered while they were open, also the hatch to the cellar right by the front door was open for the drinks to be dropped down. The food was okay , but didn't seem up to the same level as when I have eaten here in the past, having said that it is a fair while since I last visited

I live and work in the area and I have been to this restaurant three times and not one of the experiences have been good.Firstly, it doesn't look like a restaurant. It used to be a student canteen and they've covered the canteen bit with wall partitions.The first time I went there I was served chicken that was pink and gooey (no joke). I sent it back to the kitchen and the chef said it was meant to be like that. No chicken is meant to be that pink and gooey. Ever.The second time I went for cocktails with a friend thinking what could go wrong? A lot. Not only did the cocktail taste bad but there were DEAD FLIES in both and I mean A LOT. I was almost sick.The third time - not as bad - except both my fiancee and I woke up with dodgy stomachs and feeling ill and iffy today. I couldn't even finish my meal last night (Kung Po chicken). My fiancee ordered the pork black bean and rice. We also ordered duck spring rolls and they were so burnt and gross I spat it into a tissue right away. What's worse is we paid £24 for this which included service. What service?!?! It was APPALLING and slow.I work at QMUL and it's generally agreed this place is a no-go. I don't know anyone who's had a good experience here.

We ordered 4 x set meals between 5 of us. It was happy hour and we got 4 x Australian beers for £10 and there was a selection of cocktails at 1/2 price (£4) and were tasty.The Chinese food was really fresh and delightfully tasty. We had loads to eat and struggled to finish it.Great value but be careful service charge is included

Very nice dim sum, fairly good price, Probably normal for the 'trendy area'. Really good other dishes too. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Great during happy hour for half price cocktails and 4 beers for £10.

I was there once for dinner and found it good. Nevertheless, the noodles could have had more chicken, although the cooking was fine but not above any other average similar rrstaurants.. the athomosphere was nice

This is a real find. You leave Mile End station, walk through Westfield Way and there by the side of the canal is this delightful restaurant. The food is freshly cooked and delicious. The service is very friendly and it is very cheap. You could be anywhere in the country watching the swans and the ducks swimming by. It isn't very well advertised unlike it's sister restaurant in Shoreditch but it is well worth a visit.
