Their famous beer garden is well sheltered from the breeze and is a great addition to these outdoor drinking venues . Can't wait to start drinking indoors again !

I was going to try this pub again, but it was way too noisy and a lot of swearing - not to my taste at all.

It's a shame that this pub is full of old gammon. If it was taken over and brought up to date, it would be very nice and an asset to the area, as other pubs have done. It is a mystery how it remains open in its current state,

I am very sad to say the pub has had to close due to the negotiations broken down with Enterprise Inns, load of promises made and talk and nothing sorted, I was offered a full agreement in October and with all work to be carried out but to avail they did not follow through on there promises. Again I have dealt with this company and swore that I would not deal with them a gain as the old saying goes once bitten twice shy, big mistake, they use you and then go back on promises they make, again a great thank you for all the staff and customers for their support and hard work and perhaps one day the pub will be on the map, but with Enterprise the changes will still keep happening and another pub will go down the drain.

A sad shadow of its former self. The real ale was OK but the choice is lacking.

This pub has such potential with its garden and "old fashioned local ", appeal. I've tried it before but really not been impressed for the last three or so years. Tried again tonight, but, ignored by the young lady behind the jump, (her mobile phone was obviously more important than another customer wanting a beer) and despite prompting from one of the two customers in the pub she continued with her scrolling I felt the need to leave. Not a pleasant experience. I adjourned to the Tower down the road where the service, prices and APA were excellent.

What a difference the new people have done here, back to a traditional local with meat raffles and beer raffles, a great little pub with great staff and good old cosy feel. With all the troubles they have over come they seem to be going forward, just to point out the previous post is not me and a person who wants to ruin a good local.Keep the good work up and glad to see the locals supporting the pub again, events are in the pipe line and some great offers so watch this space and again thanks for all your support and to the staff.

Last night my friends and I came for dinner and not one of us walked away happy with our meal or service. When we have been previously the food was Italian and we were spoilt for choice with food and drinks leaving us all highly recommending the restaurant. My partner's Guinness came out unsettled and with a huge head on it, the menu has become small and 'authentic' which isn't shown online as my friend looked it up before hand looking forward to Italian dishes etc. I opted for the beef ragu and if that was made with a lovely tomato sauce it would taste 100% better rather then how it was served looking bland and tasteless with the only good thing about it being the pulled beef. The garlic bread was basically bread with 1/4 of it having garlic oil on it having to ask for oil to dunk the (bread) in. We also ordered the sharing platter which for the money was also disappointing, all the while having the kill fruit flies throughout our whole meal. Sadly I wouldn't recommend this restaurant again and felt robbed of £165.
