Dragon's Den in Southampton

I had chicken chow main , and that was very salty and a noodles was soggy .

After years of making do with fairly plain and boring Chinese takeaways in the Bitterne area, a few months ago we saw that Dragon's Den in Woolston was recommended by a number of people in a local Facebook group. We have ordered 5 meals from them to be delivered and they have all been amazing compared to the previous places we used to use. The menu has some options that are different to other Chinese restaurants, for example my new favourites, Spare Ribs with Tangy Chilli Fruity Peking Sauce and Fragrant Special Fried Rice with Coriander. Their Chicken Curry tastes different to the usual ones you get, I can't put my finger on what's different but it's really good. Their Chicken Balls have huge lumps of chicken in them as well. Delivery has so far been fairly quick and the food has arrived piping hot. Definitely recommend giving them a try.

On time delivery is the only thing that was good about this order. Duck was burnt to a crisp - couldn’t eat any of it! Rest was pretty poor flavour wise. Disappointed

Delivery was nice and quick and good was hot as always. crispy lamb dish was new to me and I loved it. all our other favourites were as good as ever too.

As our normal Chinese I was very disappointed this time, food was to salty in some cases, sauces too runny and the chow mein was bland with lil to no flavour, I’ll be going elsewhere next time

duck was slimy and basically just fat, pancakes, over cooked nearly burnt, cucumber and spring onion dry and looked old- wouldn't recommend

Good, tasty Chinese take-away. Some dishes a bit sweet for our taste, but overall, good quality food. Wide-ranging menu and we're planning to order again.

Glitch with Printer/app in store which i will not downgrade as when spoken to the restaurant food was delivered within 20mins. Got a freebie added for the inconvenience. Food was great quality and fresh. Our 4th time ordering from here.

the order Is wrong I am in Doncaster not Southampton so if I receive this order I will be surprised. tried calling just eat but no joy why did it let me order in Southampton when I'm nowhere near

chips and chicken balls were chewy and not crispy. like they had been made the day before and microwaved. other dishes were average and overpriced.

Becoming a regular thing their chips are disgusting now. Taste like they just reheat them in the mircowave or something not hard to cook fresh chips. Also seems like they're cooking everything in silly amounts of oil foods just greasy and slimy.. Been using dragons den for years and it's slowly getting worse.. Sort your food out or lose another regular customer

Tasty and well presented can’t fault it

This was our first order from Dragons Den but it won’t be the last! Massive chicken balls! Plenty of rice. Freshly cooked and piping hot, although we’re not very far from the restaurant. Curry spicy but not too much, heat just right. Could’ve done with a bit more sweet and sour sauce as ratio to ball quantity isn’t quite there. Will order again, look forward to trying their vermicelli noodles and finishing the leftovers for breakfast tomorrow like the filthy humans we are 👍🏻 5 🌟

Always under new management but just the next brother or sister has taken over. food is always cold when delivered. . Ordered sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong the chicken tasted wrong ordered a few times still tasted strange .

Just had a family takeaway, and it was lovley, never had the Thai Chicken Curry Noodle, and that is my new favourite 😍 😋

The chicken fried rice is way too overcooked, the chicken curry tasted more like korma, it had a bit of a kick and then really sweet at the end.

Really good food. Deep fried pork in pineapple sauce is a winner and worth trying

usually have no problems from here but this time the food was so bland and really bad quality. the only nice thing was the pancake rolls and chicken balls. the barbecue sauce was tasteless and the chow mein was so bland it was like eating plain noodles. the beef in the curry wasn't good quality either. won't be ordering again.

Food arrived quickly, but it was really not nice. In particular the chicken balls were way overcooked. Very disappointed as used to order from here a few years ago, first time ordering for a while and the quality has gone way down.

Prawn toast without and prawn and egg fried rice without any egg. Crispy seaweed underdone and chicken with cashew nuts was dry and veg undercooked.

Mixed feelings, Food arrived just warm in the containers but borderline cold everything else so everything had to be microwaved which I hate doing, I also don't expect to have too. The food itself was good other than my Jumbo House Platter in which all was overcooked and a little dry. Overall not bad at all but could see improvement! Perhaps I was at the end of a multiple delivery

The whole order was uneatable, have eaten here before and it was nice, realised now it’s under new management, will not return, satay sauce, don’t know what that is as it was not satay, the chicken was awful, ribs was in small chuncks, never seen this before , like I said the whole order basically went in the bin .

I think they are under new management.. as the meal I had last night was horrible.. never had a bad experience before. Dry fried rice, chow main like it had been heated up in a microwave, the chicken balls where over done

We've ordered from here a few times before and have always enjoyed it but unfortunately this time the egg fried rice was bland and watery, the chicken chow mein had really dry chicken in it, the Chinese style duck should have been called the Chinese style duck fat as there was only the fat layer in the dish rather than any of the actual duck meat! both drinks were also out of date by 6+ months which raised the concern of whether or not all other ingredients were actually in date or not?!

The lobby is a little dirty, the sevice is okay and most of the food is meh... so why 4 stars? Simple they have the best chicken curry. Personally, it's the only reason I go here. But its under new management, so I won't write a full review until its back and open again!

I had some items I haven’t had previously and the quality was average at best unfortunately. Ribs, chips and chicken dippers poor quality and the dippers were cold.

The house platter was dry, not a fan. Delivered on time, can’t go wrong with chow mein and rice

Just had an amazing Chinese , every dish was full of its own flavour and the meat was tender and delicious! I felt bad spending so much as food prices are so expensive so it was so nice to appreciate the quality I received, it was quick and hot too.

First time having food from here and it was Nasty oily as hell, the rice was swimming, the chips are awful, the curry sauce couldn't cover the taste up, the whole order tasted awful, will never order from here again

Ordered chicken in orange sauce was very fatty and had to bin it. Rest of order was cold guess it had been sat around a while.

king prawn balls cremated and no special in chow mein next to no meat WHY ! ! ALL THAT MONEY I hope the spring rolls are not cooked the same as king prawn balls.

food not complete, pancakes and sauce left out of dish. no free dish as promised with such a big order. no free prawn crackers. meat chewy and ruined a really good 47th birthday. unbelievable

By far the worst Singapore fried rice that I have ever tasted! Cold, tastes spoilt.

It was my first time ordering the Fragrant Special Chow Mein with Coriander. It will not be my last! It added a perfect amount of warmth to the dish. It is definitely a new favourite alongside the Special Foo Yung.

2nd time we ordered through just eat and must say the food was amazing, came quite quickly and always comes super hot and fresh definitely worth a try!

Popped in to collect for once but usually order for delivery. Never had anything but good food from here, recommended for a decent takeaway.

The food is amazing and will always keep coming back to this Chinese but it takes over an hour to be delivered. Delivery time needs to be quicker

The beef in black bean sauce had a pool of oil surrounding it once in the plate, was soggy and slimy and so were the green peppers in it. Seems like it was maybe reheated because it was just an oily mushy mess. Chow mein was really really greasy and mushy. Won’t be ordering again unfortunately. New to the area and the quest to find a good Chinese continues!

The food arrived early and piping hot. The rice was nice, as was the sauce and vegetables. However, the veggie spring rolls had no filling, and the chicken was absolutely disgusting!! I've never had anything as slimy and awful as that!! We had to throw it away as it was inedible. Waste of money!

Our delivery was on time but unfortunately was missing the fried rice with our chicken curry which then made our chicken curry useless they said they was sending it out and it's been 45mins and no rice and the curry is cold now so not very happy normally they are very good but today I am not happy with the service as have wasted £9.20

The food was quite cold by the time it had arrived. We had Mongolian lamb, and it had lots of little bones in it! Watch your teeth if you’re going to have that!!

I've ordered from here once before and it was ok but tonight it was vile the food arrived 22 minutes after order placed food was not fresh it obviously had been reheated from night before because I ordered just after it opened the chicken balls some were solid and some just crumbled in to a greasy mess and the ribs were burnt and not edible I actually can not believe that you sell food like that to paying customers you should be ashamed with yourselves for taking people's money and then serving them food like that

I haven’t used this restaurant for a while. I was extremely disappointed with the standard of the food, not sure what’s happened..

Food tasted nice, but they put my ice-cream in with my noodles so it melted and the food was cold

The quality of this place has really gone down hill. Some of my prawns were really mushy, no firmness. The price of the veg rice was extortionate at £6.50, the satay were so salty I couldn’t eat any more, the chicken balls were very average with two that looked like it had been cooked twice. It really felt like a lot had been reheated, it was far from fresh. Even the chips were gross.

Pancake rolls were nice hot and crispy, Singapore rice full of flavour and spice Salt and pepper chicken was really moist and full of onions and chillis, really fresh and spicy. Really good meal

Chow mein noodles were not noodles, rather small pieces of mush! Mongolian lamb was over cooked and not a lot of meat and the chicken dippers were burnt!! Worse food we’ve had and will not order again
