Dragons Den in Southend-on-Sea

The chicken didn’t taste very nice, the chicken was slimy. The chow main again wasn’t very nice, very bland no flavour. The chicken balls were not crispy they were very soggy. Don’t think I’ll be ordering again.

Food was delivered early so assumed rushed, everything was soggy especially crispy chilli prawns and crispy chilli chicken.. soggy ! Was not nice at all

The sauce in the chicken curry was unfortunately so oily and runny, had a thick layer of oil sitting on top and not a lot of curry flavour, tasted a bit more like satay without the spice. Chilli salt chicken was soggy and such a strong garlic taste none of us touched it. The mixed starter was ok and so was the rice, but unfortunately won’t order from here again as nothing tasted fresh.

First time using this takeaway, food was very nice, however it is the first Chinese takeaway I have ever used that did not give free prawn crackers with order over certain amount, usually 15-20 pounds……..our order was over £50. I purposely did not order them as thought I would get them free with such a big order.

Food was early which is always a bonus. Salt & chilli chicken could’ve been crispier & the shredded beef was extra extra spicy so just a heads up!

Chicken didn't taste like it was cooked properly

preordered before they opened, and got notification through as soon as they did. food came on time and was super yummy. everything cooked nicely and tasted good, and although portions aren't massive, they arent stingy either. Good quality and pleased with the prompt delivery.

Ordered from here the first time. Such delicious food. Everything had a taste. Thought we would try again but thought the first time was a one off but no it was just as good. Well done.

main meals were lovely kung-po chicken beautiful but the banana fritters were rock hard not ripe totally inedible

Always order from dragons den and the food this time definitely wasn't at its best. Quite disappointing

Hello. We ordered at aprox 4:23pm and it arrived 19 minutes later at 4:42pm. The food surely could not of been cooked from fresh and packed and delivered in that time. And as someone who has personally just finished Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification I'm really skeptical about the quality and how food is prepared for consumption. Chicken balls - batter was cold inside and the chicken dry. Seaweed - dry. Chicken chow mein - Lukewarm Egg Fried Rice - dry and lukewarm. Roast Pork - I've not tried it. There is no way this meal could have been prepared freshly, and cooked fresh to the correct bacteria killing temperatures in the 19 minutes it arrived after the order.

Food was cold, rice was over cooked and the chow mein was disgusting! The Sweet and sour sauce was inedible to top it off!

Chicken was rubbery and chicken balls where doughy. Rice was bland, over all disappointing.

A regular customer to this Chinese. We have the chicken chow mein, special fried rice, any of the ribs are lovely too, spring onion and ginger chicken. Always a friendly delivery driver. Recommended.

Not used this take away for a number of years due change of ownership.. My normal takeaway was closed so thought I would give this a try... Prices seem good the staff friendly The meal house special chow mien was plentiful but was in to much sesame seed oil for me ...plenty of meat though..I will return to try a different meal

The Sweet & Sour Prawn Balls were disappointing. Batter inside was soggy & the prawns were tasteless. The Chicken Balls were slightly better. It seems as if they were cooked in a hurry. Rest of food was OK.

Ordered a quick dinner for 2 (salt & chilli ribs, chicken chow mein, Singapore rice and duck in black bean) and every dish was spot on, piping hot and even catered to certain requests. Very reasonably priced with no compromise to flavour.

All food was extremely chewy and dry and practically inedible to eat

Won ton was awful put straight in bin, crispy seaweed was actually good. Pork was tasty in the noddles but the noddles were mainly bean sprouts and the noddles were clumpy. Smoked chicken didn’t taste smoked and curry sauce was really oily. Again went straight in the bin. It had a top layer of oil 🤢. Don’t receive any free prawn crackers. And the prawn balls were really greasy.

30 mins late (just eat would let me select 30) m. Should have ordered chips and curry sauce separately. Smaller potion of both chips and curry sauce for the £1 extra. You live and learn! Otherwise food as expected.

This is possibly the worst Chinese we have ever eaten! We usually use Yummy who were unfortunately not taking orders last night. The food we had delivered was swimming in grease, the ribs were full of fat, as was the meat in my chow mein. The rice had chunks of fatty meat in too. There is nothing in me that would recommend this place, it is most definitely not worth wasting your money! With such a selection of Chinese takeaways in Shoebury I am surprised this place has stayed open!

One of the worst chineses I’ve had . The noodles and chicken where slimy and almost had a Smokey smell/ taste . The noodles where clumped into balls

Thought we would try this place as our normal choices of takeaway were closed, food was hot but greasy and not very tasty, some dishes seemed reheated,definitely will not be returning, not to our taste!!!!

The salt and chilli box is tiny not worth the price I was so looking forward to it but definitely not value for money. Order was late but it was hot so that’s a plus.

Absolutely brilliant best Chinese I’ve had in a long time

Very sad. Could only taste sugar in the curry and the vegetable dish. Overwhelmingly sweet. Binned both dishes. The pancake rolls were OK. No free prawn crackers either, very unusual.

Severely disappointed in the portion sizes and food quality. Not a single container was full, ‘crispy’ chicken was soggy, chicken balls tasted perfumey. Won’t be ordering from here again. But, was on time, food was hot and they had taken notice of special/dietary requests.
