I have been a customer for quite some time now but Iv never been so disappointed in a delivery, Spent over 30 pound on an order to share with my partner and the food was so tasteless I thought I might of had covid , my partner also found two black hairs in her food Roastpork curry had only a hint of taste to it and was 70% onions ,the mushroom rice was really soggy ,everything was so tasteless it felt like I was eating left overs Iv also ordered ribs before and they were tiny with barely anything on them. The prawn crackers were all smashed Needless to say I won’t be going here again. What a waste of money I feel robbed.

It seems that being one of the only Chinese restaurants in Haverfordwest are their saving grace. Below average food and ridiculous wait times. Seriously not worth the hassle

How can a place go downhill so badly and so quickly? I have eaten here since the 70s, back when Sam owned the old restaurant and then the new one just off Swan Square. You could guarantee every sit-down or takeaway meal was first class. Sadly that is now ancient Chinese Restaurant history. My last and FINAL visit to this establishment just after Christmas was horrendous. I walked in to hear a confrontation between the delivery driver and the cook about incomplete orders being sent out. It seems the driver had to make return journeys several times to deliver missing food which of course he wasn't getting paid for. As I was already there I decided to order two meals. Nothing much but quite expensive. Lo and behold, when I got home I found that my order was missing a portion of rice! The food was dreadful. Cold chicken fried rice which had a distinct 'tang' and a very dry and sad looking curry. I tried calling to complain but the man who answered pretended he couldn't understand me. I was tempted to take it back but would have incurred more expense by the journey. I ended up putting it all in the bin. How can they get it so wrong? As I said, this was my very last visit there. Go there at your peril and be careful you don't stick to the floor. I don't know if old Sam is still with us but it really needs his input before the doors close forever.

5 of us ate here last night. Restaurant is quite large,lots of tables.The guy serving us was great,very helpful.all 5 of us had different dishes including starters and all dishes were so tasty. I can highly recommend the chicken and cashew dish and the salt pepper chips.had chicken and sweetcorn soup to start. Very enjoyable evening and very reasonable too. Karen

Took 2hours to come up the road, the "ribs" from the munchy box were tiny and even just put bones it with now meat and everything was cold. We were gutted after being so hungry and paying so much. The guy on the phone was good though but the delivery was slow as can be it was ridiculous.

One of the best Chinese restaurants not only in Haverfordwest but also in West Wales. Receptionist girl is a Chinese girl who is friendly and informative.Chefs are Chinese who are excellent at cooking. Their phone keeps ringing all the time (they seem to have lots of orders everyday). Dishes are absolutely delicious. Price is insanely cheap as well compared to the taste and presentation of dishes.

Very disappointed, first of the driver was so rude when entering the building letting the door slam in to the pram which hit my daughters head who is only 6 months old and walked off, the front of house was very rude, even to the point customers where coming in and you could hear her swearing at the staff from the kitchen very unpleasant to hear with young kids listening aswell. The food came out very fast and tastes like it was reheated. The glasses was dirty aswell and made the coke flat. We were too uncomfortable to even complain as we just wanted to have food and leave. Definitely won’t be coming back

Not very friendly when ordering, told wouldn't be long but had to wait 45 mins for order. The bbq sauce had zero taste and was like water, chicken balls were hit and miss some soggy and some burnt. Prawn crackers were nice. Second time this has happened, won't be going again.

Visited for a birthday meal, a table which I had booked weeks in advance. Spoke with a young lady on the phone who wasn't too keen on taking a phone booking and wanted me to book on the app instead. Eventually agreed to take the booking but nothing recorded on arrival today. Even though I'm very sure the lady who served us was who took my booking on the phone. Booking was for 9 people so no table set up ready either as a result. We were the only ones dining in, four times drinks were ordered with three different people before they eventually arrived 1 hour and 20 minutes later. Food was ordered twice over also because the first order was again muddled. No atmospheric music, but we did have the sound of a deafening alarm/bell going off intermittently! Luckily, the food began arriving shortly after drinks, however by the time the last meal came, the first were close to finishing. The food itself was lovely and did compensate for some of the bad service and atmosphere throughout the visit. It was so bad in the beginning it became funny. I wouldn't discount ordering takeaway in the future, but regretfully won't be visiting for a sit down meal again.

The worst night ever,booked a quiet table for four,couldn't have been quieter we were the only customers.Was like faulty towers,no table service we had to go to the counter,to order young girl took the orders,could hardly hear what she was saying,got drinks asked for a coffee ,we dont have coffee was the answer.We should have walked out but thought things might get better.The table cutlery consisted of a fork and spoon.The food was terrible I'm a retired chef,the food was nothing like Chinese food was like a stew ,hard carrots,loads of onions,wasn't good.We have been to the restaurant a few times this was dire,no staff came near us we had to go looking for them.I could go on ,it wasn't a nice end to a 60th wedding anniversary day, we won't be back.

I ordered food from Foodhub from Dragon Pearl before and have had to chase up orders. However today was the worst. It took more than two hours and two phone calls before my meal arrived. I live a five minute drive from the takeaway. After 90 minutes I called and was told it’s on the way. I phoned again after 2 hours and was told the same thing. It eventually arrived a few minutes later with no apology. Hopeless!

Terrible Avoid Dirty, sticky floor, cutlery sticky, bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a month, service Terrible, food made us ill, beer from a box un chilled on floor, wine tasted like 1.99 bottle. Grim

OK - their organisation could be better - we pre-booked but didn’t seem expected and they were a fair while taking our order - but once things were up and running food was plentiful and great quality - all in all no complaints great meal with friends and family

Oily rice , chicken was just dry crispy salty flakes of chicken skin , not meat, all deep fried. That is a heart attack!,, Really terrible, nearly £8 for that . We had tea and bread for dinner instead, The wings were covered in dry crusty skin which is what you see in the place. The rice we had to cook some white rice and mix it. It still did not work, still oily.

Worst takeaway in living memory. Over 2hr wait for delivery and food was awful. We had to add teriyaki sauce from the fridge to add any flavour. Chicken chow mein was literally just noodles and dry chicken. Honestly would've enjoyed toast and butter more than this poor excuse for a dinner

Restaurant in the centre of Haverfordwest that you can either eat in or take away. Service was swift and efficient and the food was delicious.

Oh boy. Just had a take away. Food terrible. Tough as old leather boots crispy chicken. My wife's duck was sparse on the duck and heavy on the gravy, so it's was like a find the meat stew. The egg fried rice was ok but there was no egg, how can you miss 1 of only 2 main ingredients??? Sorry. Maybe it was a bad night but boy do they need to up their game. The young man who served us was very nice and polite, hence the stars for service.

The food was disgusting and 80% went in the food bin. Chilli chicken wings were not spicy and deep fried to a crisp. The king prawn bbq crispy noodle was disgusting. The prawn were also deep fried which I wasn't expecting, the sauce was watery and the only flavour was salt. Don't waste your money on food from this place.

Absolutely disgusting. Food was cold and tasteless. Contacted them after the food was ordered to complain at 6pm, was told they would speak to the manager and ring me back. 9pm I rang them again, they asked for the food back which I explained was now in the food bin as it had been 3 hours since I rang and if they had wanted it back should of asked me at 6 instead of quizzing me on was I sure the food was as I had described. It’s the following day and still haven't had a response from management. I will never order from this place again. Disgusting food, disgusting customer service. Not even my dog would eat the chicken satay skewers, they looked like a week old road kill. Spare ribs overcooked and dried out had no meat on, the chow mein was slimy and tasteless and the spring rolls were overcooked and dried out inside. We really should of trusted our first impression and left, Décor was awful, only cutlery on the table was a fork, no condiments. food was not good, lemonade was flat. When we asked for knife and soy sauce it seemed like a lot of effort. We all feel a bit unwell. Such a shame it used to be the place place to go the food and service was always excellent.

We have been going here on and off for a number of years. The food is always lovely and the service is quick. Very Recommended.

We were all poorly so ordered almost £70 worth of take away hoping it would last the weekend so we wouldn’t have to cook. We plated up at home but it just wasn’t right. The texture of the chicken made us feel like it would make us ill. The prawn crackers had an odd flavour. The portions were skimpy and it was just not right. The whole thing didn’t seem fresh or cooked properly. It all went in the bin.

This place has gone down hill. Have used it for years but the last twice (since they joined UberEats) the food has been awful. Meat tasted off tonight texture didn't feel like beef. Will not be going back

Staying near Haverfordwest and we hadn’t made dinner plans so found the restaurant with a quick Google search, walking in off the street and we were seated in seconds. We were served drinks really quickly and the staff explained the menu. We ordered a set menu for 3 which was so reasonably priced, especially when we saw how much food we had. It could have fed 6 of us. The food was delicious, served on warm plates and piping hot. Everything was really tasty and we had one very happy child heading home to our holiday stay. Our serving staff were excellent. Only a young lad but so polite, really helpful. Top marks. We really enjoyed it.

Booked a table on the day for 4, had it confirmed by the restaurant no more than an hour before, drove for 40 minutes to get there only to be met by a couple walking out because they’d been told they didn’t have time to serve them. When we enquired, sure enough they did not have time to serve us. Absolutely disgraceful!!! Complete waste of our time and money travelling there. Simply not good enough!!! Seems to me they should close the restaurant side and simple stick to takeaway. Stop wasting peoples hard earned money and time!! Will never go again.

Disgusting food, duck was all fat and only half a box full, chicken skewers were dry and paper thin, don’t waste your money or time

My sons curry the chicken was slimy… all drinks where flat mentioned to owner and she was so rude and said they wasn’t and walked away!!! How that place is still open is beyond me!!!! Cantonese Chop Suey which apparently is served without beansprouts. £6.50 for 3 prawns, half a mushroom and some slithers of carrot, onion, bamboo shoots and celery. And no customer service whatsoever. Rip off, not happy 🤬

Just thought I'd give them the benefit of the dought as it's not been a pleasant experience last time we were there. And what do you know still no customer service whatsoever and a rip off, £6.50 for Cantonese Special Chop Suey without the beansprouts. Guess that's why it's special 🤬 not happy not going again

As good as it always has been since the 70s. As a lifelong fan of Chinese curry I can honestly say that it beats them all, just as it did 45 years ago. Ignore the doubters and go eat there. Well done Dragon and Pearl. Keep up the excellent work.

Decent, convenient Chinese that does the job but won't knock your socks off. Extra star because they now deliver! A bit of an odd setting, but I don't go there for the vibes. Consistently average.

Bearly Spoke any English and took 5 mins to read my card number out to her over phone over all time to order a few items took 20 mins phone call.

We have used this restaurant a great deal over the years as the alternatives are not for us. During our last visit they forgot to give us a dish we paid for. We notified them immediately and they advised they would honour it for our next order. Called this evening to place an order and they point blank refused to give us the dish we paid for. The customer service has never been great but this is beyond the pale. Not a nice business to deal with!!

The most disgusting meal we have ever had. The chicken curry was horrific, the chicken pieces with like opaque lumps of jelly. The whole meal was revolting, cold and portions were tiny. Will never EVER go back. What a total waste of money

Totally disgusting food, worse I've tasted. Collected takeaway and drove home (12 miles) King prawn curry was like water with prawns and onions swimming in it. Chow mein had rubber noodles and the chicken was slimy and disgusting. Portion of mushrooms had hard uncooked mushrooms in it and spring roll tasteless. Mixed balls in batter was rough as well, the batter was rock hard and the smallest of prawns in them. £57 spent and even the bin complained about the Chinese. Phoned up to complain and front of house very apologetic and was told I need to speak to manager. Well that was a experience, as was told I was ridiculous for complaining as she had the same chowmein portion as mine and there was nothing wrong with it. That was her words, and making me feel it was my fault for not enjoying the meal. Pity she dont look at the reviews as there is a lot of disgusting food comments and poor customer service comments made. Won't waste my money on their food again. Pity brother's house was closed as that is far better, our dog food at home would been nicer than tonight's experience.

Admittedly I haven't been to Dragon & Pearl for a number of years, so I was shocked at how its deteriorated. The decor was dirty, lots of dust, dirty floor and yellowing dated table covering. The food was the biggest shock; it used to be tasty food, but what we had didn't taste nice, the rice was hard and left a funny taste on the mouth. The price has also doubled, and is more expensive than other places in H'west to eat. Really disappointed.

I ordered a delivery today. I had a duck chow mein and pork balls with sweet and sour sauce. the pork balls were a little overcooked every hard. The duck chow mein was nice. The price 19 pound 50 and delivered to my house is ridiculous on the price. Won't order again for this reason.

Ordered from here tonight customer service disgusting asked to bank transfer for payment totally dodgy , got food home food missing called to tell them that two portions of rice was missing and was told that they will check cctv and did not want to issue a refund will not be returning!

We've used Dragon and Pearl regularly for two years and always had amazing food but tonight it was completely inedible. Something was either off or not prepared right the first mouthful left an awful aftertaste made me feel sick- an hour later we can still taste it, absolutely disgusting. We took it back was told to hurry as she wanted to close. Then when he got there stood arguing- poor customer service and terrible food. At first tried to say we will give you another next time after tonight I won't be returning ever again- this isn't something you will forget. We've had two years of lovely food been recommending to neighbors and friends but I'll be updating them after tonight and will be looking for a new place to get a takeaway from. Something has happened in the last two weeks as the last meal then was faultless but either the quality of meat or the way its prepared has been changed- seriously needs to be looked into by the management who according to the girl wasn't there but she would speak to them tomorrow. Judging by previous reviews we aren't the first and after tonight we won't be the last- it's a shame especially in the current climate returning customers should be valued but this place isn't particularly interested in valuing its customers or putting right terrible food and service- after two years it has lost a repeat customer and our recommendations. Please take into account if you plan to try here we are now looking for a new takeaway.

I don't normally review or give an opinion on places to eat, but I have to warn people that this place in Haverfordwest is a shambles. We had visited this place for a meal many years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, what a contrast to yesterday's visit. The first impression of the place from the outside wasn't good weeds and vegetation growing across the front of the property!. The inside is grotty, cardboard boxes, hoovers and general detritus strewn in the restaurant and bar area!, the bar decor had been smashed in with holes in the panelling. The restaurant was totally silent with absolutely no atmosphere, a TV was on in the bar area showing the game show ing "Pointless", this really sums up the place. The food was poor quality the duck starter had more fat than meat on each portion, if I get chance will attach a photo, but safe to say it wasn't very appetising. I'm sure this restaurant could be great again but at the moment we would avoid it, Happy to provide more constructive criticism if needed to help this business!

First of all, young lad behind the counter was brilliant and we give him 5* As for the restaurant, disgusting, found a large black hair in my spring roll as we started eating the meal. Bit into my spring roll, saw it protruding out the other half and spat the rest out. When I phoned the restaurant to request a refund & that we'd return the food, with picture proof of the hair in it (neither of us have hair like this, it was INSIDE the spring roll), the manager (Kitty) was incredibly rude. Telling me I was lying etc and shouting down the phone at me. I then said I was coming down there with the food to get my money back, she wasn't there, restaurant totally empty & she made the young lad behind the counter (who was on our side) put her on speakerphone to talk to us, getting very heated on the phone & telling us she'd only refund for the spring roll (£3, the takeway was £60) we had hardly eaten any of the food, 2/3 spoonfuls each before finding this. There was no apologies made by the manager, just her accusing us of planting it there!! Never heard anything like it!! In the end after half an hour of arguing with the woman who was just repeating herself on the phone and getting steadily more and more agitated, the boy behind the counter gave us our refund, and was very apologetic. It's not the first time this has happened. This used to be the nicest chinese in town, but 4 weeks ago it changed hands & now it has gone to the dogs. We will never be going back there and will never recommend anyone go there. Disgusting! Reported to council hygiene also.

Have to say this restaurant is not what it was in previous years with appearance. Can’t complain about the food. Delicious and testy. Young lady who served us was very polite and extremely helpful. Sat down to eat and noticed no music or atmosphere. Could do with a deep clean and concentrate on appearance. But food was faultless.

Before ordering we noticed our cutlery were quite sticky, as if they haven’t been washed properly. Ordered and asked for chopsticks as I wouldn’t really use cutlery in a Chinese restaurant, let alone not properly washed ones. Popped out for a cigarette and noticed one of the staff just laying down on the benches watching tv. Not really professional. When the food arrived the plates were again sticky, probably from grease not being washed off properly. My rice noodles were very dry, left the whole of it. Prawn toast soaked with oil. One of the staff left mid service after a heated discussion on the phone. I’m a bit worried for the cleanliness of the kitchen to be honest. Probably not something you’d see if you’re ordering take away/delivery. I’d avoid.

Foolishly we tried to eat in on a Saturday night. There was one other table and after 45 minutes they presented the wrong order to us, hearing shouts from the kitchen, our order hadn't even been started. We asked for a takeaway instead. The food was horrendous, I have food poisoning today (violently ill)- the sweet and sour was the most acidic thing I've ever tasted and the lemon chicken was scraps of fried chicken with a god awul melted lemon curd style sauce. If you value your stomach, run away!!

We got a take out on Valentine’s Day , phoned the order through , yes no problem your order will be ready in 10 mins , it takes 10/15 mins to get there from my place, 57 mins later I’m still waiting for my order as was a lot of others ,when I got it home …..very disappointed the CHICKEN chowmian had 2 little bits of chicken and a bit of onion that’s all ,prawn crackers were soft , spring rolls were like baby food (yuck) Chicken balls were under cooked , the duck in black bean sauce didn’t have ANY duck in it only some duck skin , so all in all not a nice valentines meal

Food has changed from what it once was.

Just had a very bland takeawy. Have used this take away a couple of times but I will not be using them again. The squid in black bean sauce was devoid of any heat/chilli and included red and yellow peppers rather than just green peppers which would be much better as this should be and hot and savoury rather than a sweet dish. The tofu dish was unispring and it was cooked in some kind of sticky batter.

Despite the reviews we decided to give the place a go. Service was quick and the food was fresh and tasty. Lots of crunchy fresh peppers and onions in the chicken in black bean sauce, excellent chow mein and crispy beef. Give it a whirl.

Unfortunately there must have been a change in the kitchen. The food is no longer as good as it used to be. The last 2 times I've been they have missed things off the order. Shame really as it used to be the best around! I won't be ordering here again and id recommend to go elsewhere

We nearly avoided this restaurant after reading so many negative reviews I’m glad we didn’t. The staff were really attentive and friendly and the food was served quickly all dishes were nice and hot and most importantly it tasted delicious. We all enjoyed our meals...

Excellent food. It was rather quiet on the Wednesday night we went which was a little concerning, but our concerns soon fell away and were replaced by satisfaction. We found this little gem by accident....couldn't have been more pleased. The food is beautiful and fresh....a few different dishes to your usual Chinese in addition to those we all know and love. We will return often.

Had a delivery tonight food was greasy and lacked flavour drivee did not bring my drink and said would return with it but alas he did not so I had to choke down the dry fried rice and greasy chips . I have swallowing issues...

Amazing food but the Boy in glasses was very rude to me, as I sat down to wait for my takeaway he was Dancing and swearing out loud behind the bar, was being very disrespectful to the delivery driver, I will not return here again until management sacks him, very disrespectful boy I would rather throw my money elsewhere than hand it over to him, Absolutely discusting behaviour, apart from that ALL the other staff are polite and very welcoming, cheers

Just left after a pleasant meal however it was a shame that a man ( who I believed to be in charge tonight) felt the best way to get the best out of his staff is to embarrass them in front of customers . He should know that 'you catch more flies with honey than vinegar' felt very sorry for the young lad who he was unnecessarily embarrassing - disappointed. Friday 24/2/22 & 6.30pm

Visited one evening, used to get takeaways from here so thought we'd give it a go. The experience was poor with only two tables it wasn't exactly busy so food service was quite prompt. Food was OK- ordered the bbq dried ribs, a chicken curry...

We went in Thursday 17/2/22 @ 5pm, sat down at a table ordered drinks, had a lovely waitress, polite and helpful. food order taken.... starters came they were spot on the four of us loved it. Then came the main meal it was divine enjoyed by us all.Service was first class, we were there as it opened so it was quiet. the waitress was friendly and very accommodating, we met John one of the delivery drivers he was very helpful as one of our party was on a walking frame.Thank you for an enjoyable evening and meal.Well done to all the staff including kitchen staff.
