Dragon City in East Northamptonshire

If I could give minus stars I would. Food arrived 1 hour 15min late. The teenage boy answering the phone was useless and rude, he literally said its not my problem im not the delivery driver. It was cold, tasteless, frozen chicken, horrendous sweet and sour sauce. Rice had a fishy taste to it. Horrendous. Never never again. Avoid at all costs.

Food was abysmal. The chicken was quite clearly frozen and not fresh. The Crispy aromatic duck had absolutely nothing crispy about it at all and smelled as if it was straight out of a dog food can. Most of the food was cold / luke warm and delivery was on time so not sure why this was the case. Ordered via Just Eat and was asked to leave notes for restaurant and delivery. Heard good reviews about this restaurant after recently moving to the area, however after paying that little bit extra expecting outstanding food we were left incredibly disappointed and £42 down for food that went directly into the bin. Attempted to call the restaurant a few times to discuss a refund but the call never seemed to be answered or go through. Very very poor I specifically asked the driver to not buzz our flat but to call me instead however this was ignored and our buzzer was pressed resulting in our son waking.

The tofu was appalling do not order. The chicken in the chow mein set dinner was chopped so small I thought it had none. The soring rolls were barely cooked and tasteless. The prawn crackers were good. First and last order, sadly.

For some reason the food tastes like its dipped in sugar. Arrived on time but that was the only positive about this.

Ordered a king prawn curry, quick service but curry was tasteless and only 6 king prawns. Have used many times before but will think twice about returning again.

Never again! Delivery took over 2hrs , food was cold! First & last time ordering!

The food here is superb but we had to wait over an hour and a half for delivery - called several times to check In order, different message each time. Can’t fault the food when we eventually got it.

After using this takeaway for many years recently it’s standards in customer service have fallen in the past if there was a problem with your order it was dealt with immediately and very apologetic Tonight I placed my usual order (same every time ) but problems I ordered 2 sauces only one delivered which was not even the sauce I ordered when I phoned to let them know the girl on the phone said I’ll get the manager to call you back this means I’m waiting with food going cold while waiting for a phone call When they called back I explained that they had sent the wrong sauce and also only got one despite ordering 2 I was informed that the order was only for one which was delivered however they will send a sauce to me as the one they sent was wrong I said I had ordered 2 sauces but they were not having it and now they have lost a regular customer P.S the portion sizes are getting smaller weekly a bag of chips now contains less than 20 chips pots of sauce are less than half of what they were and they don’t even fill them anymore Save your money and go elsewhere Obviously They Don’t Value Regular Customers They just want money but they are not going to last

Ordered dinner for my family at 6:45 pm (ish). Food did not arrive until 9:10 pm. I had to call a few times to chase it up. The lady on the phone was nice but when the food turned up it was literally stone cold. I was told that they weren’t prepared to send another driver out and he would NOT refund my money. I’d be very careful if you ever order from this restaurant. Absolutely shocking.

Took over 2.5hrs to arrive. Stone cold. Had to reheat in the oven. Not the best unfortunately 😕

Great food we waited quite a while for delivery but worth the wait

Receive my order from them without sweet-and-sour Chicken balls. Called up to find out what had happened to it told nothing they can do and will not send anyone else out with the foood.

Pre ordered a meal at 5pm for delivery at 7pm ( saturday night, so know is busy) 7.20 no food, so called told 30-45 mins. Food finally turned up at 8.20pm ........ cold had to reheat in microwave , very average.

Take away service. Always hot and never an issue with food. Tried many different dishes, would always recommend salt chilli chicken & Kung Po Beef

Best part was the lovely lady answering the phone. Food wasn’t good. No sauce on chicken and cashew dish. Dry! All in all it was tasteless. King prawns in batter was a reduced portion size. Such a shame because they used to be so good. Won’t use again!

I ordered at the premises. The wait was what I expected and OK. All the food tasted good. The Hot and Sour Soup was clear when I’m used to brown but it was very nice. The Chicken Curry sauce was a bit thinner than I’m used to but had a nice flavour. The reception area is a little tired and I’m sure they’ll be redecorating soon. As far as Chinese Takeaways go in the area I’d definitely recommend them and I’ll use them again because of the quality of the food. 👍.

Ordered collection by mistake. Rang them + they sorted delivery out straight away. Nice driver + not an extortionate delivery charge either. Chow Mein best I've had in ages.

My daughter ordered duck wraps, she said they tasted 'different' (thought maybe a different sauce was with it). Within hours of eating she was being sick and this continued throughout the night. Very pale and still feeling sick. Do not order! Contacting them today then reporting. Unacceptable.

Ordered from here yesterday not only did it take over an hour to come but when i was eating it something wasn’t right got home later that night threw up atleast 10/12 times all through the night up till this morning. Gave me food positioning of some sort 🤢

Emily was nice but food selection was limited to only Chinese food

Overcharged menu price was £8.90 but was charged £9.90 when question the price young lady reply was she didn't know why , chicken balls over cooked , pancake rolls pathetic no flavours , egg fried rice was nasty

Collection took 50 minutes inside the premises, staff not happy as I'm waiting for food! Dirty inside. Cold food and little meat. It's not the same as it used to be and it was my favorite chinesse

Never had a bad experience here. Last visit was New Year's Eve, very busy but staff coping well and food was to the usual high standard.

Lovely food, always fresh and fab veggie meal.

Food was cold, dishes were missing, little flavour, something listed as hot wasn't. Took over an hour from order to collection. Counter staff clearly not happy it was busy. Moaning constantly. Used to be a good takeaway not anymore. Looks tired both inside and out, even the counter screen is broken. 3/5 food standard rating speaks volumes. Sorry but you've lost a loyal customer.

Absolutely appalling delivery service. Have been 3 hours for the food. Even though they said 1 hour 30 minute wait! Disgusting never ordering from there again

Shocking. Used dragon city many times and last few months got worse and worse. Gave benefit of doubt too many times now awful food tonight, half of meal not delivered what was delivered is luke warm and no meat hardly in dishes called and when asked to speak to management was informed no refund but would send missed items out in 45 mins .shocking !! Said we needed full refund to be told this couldn't happen !!! Lovely young girl on phone sorted the refund hopefully . DO NOT USE THIS PLACE

Never had a bad meal from here. Staff are very polite. Food is always hot and tastes fresh.

I have used this takeaway for over 10 years but after the recent appalling customer service, I will not be returning. I appreciate takeaways become busy but it’s about managing expectations and not setting unrealistic collections times resulting in me turning up to collect my order (having ordered an hour before) to be told it would be another 30 minutes. I return home, come back and it still isn’t ready. To add insult to injury, dishes were missing from our order. I have never experienced such rude customer service from Abbie on the telephone. Fortunately the owner intervened and matters were sorted. However Abbie’s attitude and rudeness means I will certainly not go back- shame because the food is great!

I ordered from here as I couldn’t get through to our normal Chinese takeaway. We read the reviews and saw that people were raving about the place so we put an order in. When I went to collect our meal I was shocked by how dirty and run down the place is. Only a couple of the lights were working but you could still see that it was really grubby. If I had seen the state of the place we would never have ordered. How on earth does this place have 4.5 stars? The food was not the worst we have had, but it was also far from the best. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to get their food from here. I’m tempted to contact N’hants Environmental Health Dept as it was so dirty...

I bought a takeaway from here tonight due to the reviews left recommending the food. Portions are small and the shop is FILTHY. There was rubbish and empty cardboard boxes piled up next to the collection counter. Half the lights were not working and the walls were covered in cobwebs, dirt and grease. God only knows the state of the kitchen! Food was 5 out of 10. I would not go there again...

Very expensive for very very poor food.. Wouldnt recondend at all.

Moved from Bedford where I had a favourite Chinese. Never thought I would find a good one again this is by far the best chinese ever food always fresh and hot and so delicious 😋 will never go anywhere again but dragon city brilliant food

Friendly staff, Good menu, great lemon chicken

This is a takeaway only - there are no tables to sit at. However, that doesn't take away from its big menu, good value and really good food! The service is friendly, helpful and also very fast - we ordered over the phone at 5:30 and we'd walked out with our food by 5:50 - we'd barely got there and it was ready!

Not a Chinese I would visit again. Lemon chicken was dry small qubes of chicken not at all like the picture. And the ribs in the starter not ribs at all, just little bits of meat with sause on them.

Comprehensive menu, fast delivery. Staff friendly. Do a very good hot and sour soup, BBQ ribs are also very good. I don't know what's in the crab soup, but it's doubtful it's been near a crustacean. It's the only menu item I've tried that's been dissapointed with.

I have ordered from Dragon City many times - they are the best Chinese in Rushden. Lovely fresh food, not greasy and good value. They do not have a 1 star hygiene rating, they actually have a 4 star rating. A must try!

Gorgeous every time but was disappointed when I asked if the crab meat soup was crab and was reassured it was only to be served fish stick water. Apart from the crab meat soup, their food is gorgeous.

Just had undercooked chicken from this takeaway and also had very rude service when confronted . This place has gone dramatically down hill since ownership change and has also been rated 1 star on food hygiene. Would avoid at All cost as a friend has had food poisoning from this takeaway in the last week. Would rate less than one star
