Classic Cipriani style with high quality food. The interior reminds of Venice - yet the larger size makes it less special (but more comfortable to sit down).

No volveremos seguro.

Stupendo ristorante italiano a Londra. Cucina superlativa e variegata.

It's been a few months since i've been to Downtown Mayfair but we were in London again and decided to lunch there yesterday and it was fantastic! We decided on Downtown as C London closes for a few hours in the day and we didn't want to be rushed. The service was excellent, the food was even better.I went for the artichoke an avocado Salad which was delightful! the perfect sized starter too. Filled a hole but left enough for the main. For the main i chose the chateaubriand with bearnaise sauce as i was sharing with a friend and again perfect! My friend is a hard nut to crack and he loved Downtown! That in itself says something. Dessert was always going to be the 'Souffle al Cioccolato'. It was devoured in seconds :) We had a few of the cocktails that the staff had recommended, the obvious first choice was the bellini and we had a few 'sweet maggies' too. Price wise we spent about 80 each which is normal in these venues, (you have to pay money for great food) so that wasnt a problem. The whole dining experience was brilliant and i will definitely be recommending this place to others. The staff were really helping and charming too which was nice to see and hear.Bravo Downtown, you will definitely see me again soon.

I've literally just had our Friday business lunch there (we normally have it at C London) and it was superb! This is my first time dining here. The service was excellent, staff were very helpful plus had a sense of humour (we don't always get this in Mayfair), it has that nice warm, close atmosphere, the quality of food was fantastic too. I'll be going back for sure, It's the perfect place to power lunch, to dine with your partner. Highly recommended! Thank you to everyone there, made mine and the guys day dining there. Brilliant!

I ate here with my husband on a Thursday night in the week prior to Christmas. For those not in the know, this is a sister restaurant to C London in Davies Street. We couldn't get into C London. The restaurant is tucked away opposite some offices off Conduit Street. Only 10 minutes walk from C London, but it could be a world away. Very nice welcome from the staff and I saw some tables outside which would be great in the warmer months. My main problem with the restaurant was the complete lack of atmosphere. When we came in at 8.30pm, there were only two other tables eating. We could pretty much choose where we sat. With less than a week to go to Christmas - when virtually every other bar and restaurant is packed - this is not a good sign. Staff were smiley and very friendly. Service was attentive - it had to be, there were few other customers in there to serve! We also found the menu to be limited. My husband chose a chicken dish for his main course, but had to ask for assistance in interpreting the menu. The descriptions could have been clearer. I opted for tuna tartare to start with which was delicious. My husband had steak tartare which was also very good.Mains were good and the bread basket was plentiful. We both had the classic vanilla meringue cake to finish our meal. We both felt it was not as good as C London. I am reliably informed this place is 'packed' on a Friday night and at the weekends. I hope so. Not one for us and we won't go again.

What a shambles. Soulless interior, overcrowded, understaffed by arrogant, condescending waiting staff who clearly didn't want to be there. Poor napery, glass and china. The Parma ham was good, BUT the spaghetti pomodoro was disgusting and that for £19 a portion. I was a guest and my host and great friend was very upset. My advice, steer clear it was a risible dining experience and I would certainly never return or recommend.

We booked Downtown on a Saturday night for 12 people- since we tried booking many other restaurants and they were fully booked for the evening. Our wine and appetizers were good, but our main courses were horrible! We asked for the grilled seabass, and what we received was a huge chunk of fish- seemed as if it was baked, and then slightly touched on the grill. 5 of our party ordered it, and 4 fish remained untouched- it seemed that it was frozen fish. When we told our waitress she said yup that seabass is "different" and didn't even offer to bring us something in return, and was not friendly at all! She didn't even offer an apology or attempted to let us leave with a positive attitude. Plus, it was super expensive for what it is- we payed around 107pounds per head. For that amount you would expect something spectacular! Definitely ruined the consistent image of cipriani in our eyes! It's our favorite restaurant in Ibiza and New York!

Went on a Monday mid afternoon following a recommendation from the Bose shop nearby. It was very quiet but what an experience. The staff were very attentive and couldn't have been nicer to my daughter & were only too happy to cook something differently for her. The bread was excellent as were our tuna starters & my rissotto main course was fabulous. My husband had veal which he couldn't fault either & he said he could eat the lemon sauce with everything! The desserts were freshlly made and presented to us at the table to choose. Was expensive but this was central london off Regent street so didn't expect anything else. Would love to go back one day.

Went for a girly dinner on Friday night. The crowd was much younger than the Davies St Cipriani. The decor is also fresh and you don't feel like you're about to be crushed by a large chandelier. High ceilings, large windows and a cute bar area.We shared starters and then had a main each. All were well presented and delicious. Go for the artichoke and avocado salad with shaved parmesan. The mozzarella is great too and for main the meat is great, as is the sea bass with red sauce. The real show came at desert time. Already buzzing from a tasty Chianti, our tastebuds were tickled by a selection of home-made cakes (the in-house patissier makes all the cakes fresh on the day) and the to-die-for ice cream. Rest assured that bowl will be licked clean, ours was. There was a girl DJ who played some great music throughout the night. Think of a cool lounge in Ibiza - funky, deep house. It was possibly one of the longest sittings I've had in a restaurant - we arrived at 9 and left at 1! Apparently she plays every Friday and Saturday night - definitely a good way to kick start a night of dancing with some yummy cocktails. Overall a great Friday girls night.

Cipriani is a world wide known brand, however, the downtown restaurant managed to give it a younger, funner atmosphere. They are really trying to make it as appealing as possible with a new possibility of a brunch with dj on Saturday. The food is always good, maybe a little expensive for what you get, but I guess you pay for the atmosphere too. A must try if in vain for a elegant yet fun dinner.

I was recommended to this restaurant by the concierge at the Westbury Hotel (5*). It was a business dinner - so we had no need to worry about the cost. Nevertheless, charging c. £20 for a plate of melanzane parmigiana - especially when it looked and tasted as if it had been bought from a lower end supermarket - was outrageous. The tuna starter was also unappetising and looked like it had been brought in. My client had a ravoli dish - which barely covered the plate, the portion was so mean. It is rare to find a real poor Italian in central London. But this was poor and vastly overpriced. Probably explains why there were more waiters than customers!

Beautiful spot tucked away in the sidestreets of Mayfair, such an exclusive feel about the location. Greeted by discreet but friendly doormen and a warm, welcoming hostess. We were a little early which wasnt a problem, were seated at the bar where we had Bellini and a very light battered and deep fried zuchini! Delicious. Seated at a table for 2 in the middle of this bustling restaurant, its a great place to people watch, there were one or two celebs there and a premiership footballer the night we went. It was my birthday and even though the staff didnt know this we were treated like celebs ourselves.Next we ordered a mixed plate of Sushi, it was immaculately prepared and the choice was amazing, from scallop to tuna steak, lobster to salmon. Amazing. We then had mixed starters, steak tartar which was smooth, rich and moreish, a tomato and bread sauce with delicious home baked bread and a lovely spicy sausage sliced onto thin fried bread. Next for mains we had the black cod... now this was special, i would recommend to any fish fan... the memory of this dish will stay with me forever. My partner had veal which was also to die for and a selection of side dishes. Desert came a just when we thought we couldeat no more we were recommended to try the home made ice cream and chocolate cake to share, unbelievable, simple but perfection. We finished on some very interesting lemon sorbet and vodka (i think) cocktails which I have never tried before, they were exceptional and a great way to end what was a truly memorable night. Yes, it was a bit more expensive than going to your usual west end restaurant but you know that before you go. A remarkable evening filled with 5* service and authentic, completely delicious food.

We switched tables from an uncomfortable, far too low a corner seat by a tiny round table, at Downtown where the table leg was in my way and irritating to a decent sized table. We visited one late March evening from 6.30pm to 11.45pm and observed everything with interest. Bill for two £500. Food OK, service could have been better but staff were very pleasant. Room was totally empty for first hour, then it very slowly reached around 80% upstairs and about 5% downstairs by 10pm. This isn’t the Wolseley, no tables were occupied during the evening more than once. There was no atmosphere at all. The place needs a front man or two. Arrigo Cipriani's son, Giuseppe ambled in around 8.30pm and sat at a table with a very attractive young lady, where he remained seated for the rest of the evening, ignoring everyone. Diners not aware would not have realised that Arrigo’s son was amongst them as he was doing no hosting at all. He could have made guests feel welcome simply by greeting everyone for a minute each....then get back to his lovely lady.Arrigo Cipriani always visits every table and greets guests at Harry's Bar in Venice, saying a few words to everyone and smiling. Doesn’t Giuseppe realise how the brand was built up? What a wasted opportunity when he could have allowed diners to meet a genuine member of the legendary “Cipriani” family and give the room, which need a lift, that “Cipriani” touch so brilliantly ever-present at Harrys in Venice. When I arrived with a showbiz friend of mine, faces of staff appeared at window, staring....noses pressed against the window. The wine service was a mess and they opened and poured both wines with our starter even though the £125 bottle of Italian white had been specifically discussed when ordering to be served with main course. Lovely room, great position, superb loos......I hope it does well but I doubt I’ll be rushing back. We much prefer "C" also in London and formerly owned by the Cipriani group which had a name change after a lawsuit brought by Orient Express Hotels. Food at "C" far better and C has a "buzz" which doesn't exist at Downtown. This place needs Mr Arrigo Cipriani who knows how to enliven a room and make a visit to his restaurant special.

Very good bread and in house made bread-sticks there was no cover charge .I noticed there was a 3 course lunch on offer @£33 . This new Cipriani venture in London is certainly busy just three weeks after opening. And if you like bling, this is the place for you. Your eyes will be on stalks - leggy girls in cocktail dresses, Chanel bags galore, diamonds to die for, this is certainly the place to be seen. It's disappointing, though. You sit at tables and chairs that are so low that you feel like you're at kindergarten. The tables are so small that the army of waiters has to perform a never-ending ballet moving this glass to the left, this plate to the right, this bread basket away. Then there's the food. It's not bad and my plate of pasta with guinea fowl sauce was pretty delicious. But at £20 for a small plate, so it should be.Then, there's the wine. Nowhere on the wine list can you see how much the 'small', 'medium' or 'large' carafe holds. So I ordered a 'small' carafe of Rosso di Romagna to share with a friend. It barely held 250 ml - two small glasses. Not a bad wine but then at £20 a small carafe, so it should be.We shared a dessert. Again, a perfectly acceptable cake with Italian meringue - very pretty and pretty delicious too. But then, at £11, so it should be.The tables are so near to each other that the waiters have to move people's chairs all the time just to get past. The decor is opulent but seems vaguely fake, they've tried too hard to transplant the Cipriani experience to London. No doubt this will be the 'in' place for a while and it's worth trying it out - but just the once.

Five of us called in while in London nearby for a business lunch. Very different as you have to do down into an underground area. The decor is modern but with an industrial/classic feel. I am not a fan of pizza but we all ordered pizza as recommended by one of our group and I am glad we did as it was very good - as far as pizza goes. The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. Highly recommend for somewhere interesting and quirky. The only down side was it was a bit pricey but I suppose we were in London!

Walking I noticed this small pizzeria characterized by a wood oven. The furniture is typical of an Italian trattoria. The staff is friendly, rapid and attentive to the customer just as you expect in Italy. The pizza is exceptional. The dough is well leavened and, therefore, light. The condiments are of excellent quality. Cooking is perfect. Excellent beer and ice cream also fully satisfies the palate. The account is adequate.
