Food is very good and staff is friendly and attentive. We had calamari, shrimp, jalapeño poppers, and Hungarian goulash.

Not sure why the hotel reviews are separated from the restaurant which is literally in the hotel. But hey, wanted an extra review. Food is mediocre at best. The burger was ok. Definitely not smashed...it was grilled, you can see the lines. Burger sauce was pretty good. The scotch bonnet sauce was watered down and tasted nothing like scotch bonnet. More like 2 pre-made sauces mixed together. Desert was actually the best thing. Very much enjoyed the Cheesecake and ice cream. The staff were great. Beers good. Probably won't eat here again but may pop in for a dessert

My first visit to the Broadway in years to meet my friend as previously lived I Cambridge and many years ago worked when I was an Art student at some weekends and Christmas etc in holidays bought back memories obvs changed since then and looks amazing the wonderful greeting we got from the lady n both ladies delivered the food etc customer service excellent the Interior design fab and vibe fab and the food outstanding thank you chef best fish and chips in years my friend can't wait to come back and try fillet steak and the plates and the food were HOT yipee as was our Cappuccinos absolutely loved our lunch and atmosphere and staff our new Go to place thank you to all that made our lunch special been very unwell for a while cheered me up no end ive been to lots of places that are great but here was special to my friend and i see you very soon 😊

Always had good service and the food is good. The place looks like a traditional pub, but has lots of seating inside.

Whilst at the hotel, the evening food looked good so tried a bowl of chips (chunky and the skin on fries, both to share) as just needed a light snack. Delicious, tasty and cooked to perfection. Would recommend these just as a snack.

Had a lovely experience on a Friday night for a birthday meal for two. Menu selection was great (with decent offering for vegetarians and vegans) and equally delicious. Service was fast and our waitress was lovely. We will be back again for a Sunday roast soon!

DISSAPOINTING BREAKFAST Came in here for breakfast and ordered the Eggs Benedict. Sadly it appears the cook can't poach eggs correctly. They are the star of the show when it comes to Eggs Benedict, however, not in this establisment. No-one bothered to ask how the food was, not even when I paid. I didn't complain as iIm of the opinion, that if no-one is asking, then the culture wil be that they don't really care, and if the cook couldn't get the eggs right the first time, then they're probably going to struggle the second time around. I wish I'd gone to Whetherspoons, as that was the level of the quality, but it was twice the price.

Carvery was lovely, we arrive just before 7pm and there was still fresh food served for the carvery.

I've been going to The Broadway for years with my company and I love it there. Great staff, great accommodation and the food is amazing. I've spent onwards of 3 solid weeks there and had no complaints. Amazing place

Great food and incredible service. We tried their pie, their burger and their pizza all superb. Mac and cheese not that great but that was the only mediocre dish. We will definitely go back to try their steaks.

The carvery on Sunday is amazing. Go here semi-regularly. Have had however on a few occasions slow service.

Very impressed after a visit to the Sunday carvery. A large table of 10, we were able to book just 48 hours beforehand. Staff couldn't be friendlier, engaging and smiling at children, quick and kind helping to clear up a spillage. Interior was very modern and clean. Sometimes carveries can be bland but not this one, the food was great, as were the desserts which all looked amazing. Great experience and will definitely be returning!

We had our family Christmas dinner here and it was lovely. The staff were great, the venue was bigger than I thought and the atmosphere was brilliant! I'd definitely recommend Downtown Bar & Grill.

Great place for a family Sunday roast. Would highly recommend.

Quite a few things went wrong with this meal. Firstly, I ordered a medium-rare sirloin and it arrived well-done. Usually, waiters come to ask how the meal is etc. But this place doesn't do that. So I waited around 15 minutes and no one came. So I had to get up and tell them the unfortunate situation. In the end the manager came, and she was apologetic and offered to have the kitchen cook another one, which I refused as I was in a rush.

As a solo diner, maybe I have high expectations with regards to eating out. On arrival, I was casually greeted by the waitress and told to sit anywhere, no one followed me to the table, the waitress casually stopped to have a conversation at the bar with the manager and bartender and after a few minutes dropped off a menu, not a good start on the service side. I ordered the salt & pepper calamari and the chicken skewer for starters. The calamari was bland for being on the menu as "salt & pepper", I had to add my own salt to get some sort of flavour, the chicken skewer was also bland even though it was on the menu as "marinated in garlic" served with or marinated with coriander and chilli as well and served with tzatziki. Usually in my experience, if you marinate something in any of those 3 ingredients, you 99% of the time should be able to taste those flavour on upon eating the chicken, but alas, they were missing in action, the only thing flavorsome on the plate was the tzatziki. The waitress casually dropped by to check on my starters, but by then, I had consumed most of them. For me, when checking on a tables food they are eating, asking more direct questions about the particular meal would be better than a casual is everything OK, but maybe that's just me. For mains I ordered the 28 day aged 10oz Sirloin steak, I ordered it Rare with a Bearnaise sauce and skin on fries. I am very particular about my meat and this was was overcooked to medium. I ate the fries and the onion rings first, in the hope that a team member would check in with me on my meal, but alas, no. I was hungry, so I did eat more than 50% of the steak, but did not enjoy it. The Bearnaise sauce was served very hot, which in my experience should not be done, but I do know that it can be. It was bland and honestly did not taste as if it were fresh, as in I feel it was bought in a carton (please correct me if I am wrong here). Paying £24.95 for a steak, I really do expect a far higher standard than what I received. After still no attention from any team member, even though they were passing my table to serve other tables, I grabbed my plate and headed to the bar to talk with the manager directly. I showed him the overcooked steak and mentioned that the salad leaves were unfortunately not the "dressed Gem salad" that was advertised on the menu. I expressly stated that I did not want anything in return, but just wanted to let him know so hopefully future mistakes could be preempted. To be fair, he didn't charge me for 2 Diet cokes.... I finished off with a sticky toffee pudding that had been warmed in Chef Mike, with salted Caramel ice cream. For the amount I paid on the total bill, I am not impressed and really do expect a far higher standard and level of service than what I received. Upon receiving the bill, a 10% service charge had been added and I enquired if this was included in the bill total, which it was, but I found interesting because it said "optional service charge" printed on the bill. I found it slightly amusing that this service charge would be added given the service I received or didn't receive..... don't get me wrong, I do always tip, but this was rather presumptuous. I truly hope that this was a once off experience and I would like to try this establishment again.

Great Sunday carvery roast dinner.

Well that was a surprise. First time in the area as we're staying for a wedding. Didn't think we would eat at the same venue but the menu was pretty good. The staff were friendly and attentive. They knew when to come over without interrupting our evening. We had the loaded potato skins; they didn't skimp on the cheese, meant for sharing between two supposedly but you could easily let another person share as it was a pretty good portion. It was so good, I forgot to take a picture....luckily I took a pic of the main. My husband shockingly admitted he's never had a tomahawk....so 1 guess what we ordered. You have the option to get two sauces; we asked for the blue cheese and the garlic & herb butter....both soooo good. The steak was conveniently pre cut and cooked to our preference. The sides of garlic roasted tomatoes and mushrooms and salad and onion rings....for £50 quid that was pretty decent. Couldn't stomach a dessert but we are staying another night hehehhe. Genuinely the staff were brilliant. The manager came over and was so kind. The live performer was just the cherry on top.

Our waitress was super helpful and friendly. The food was good . It is difficult to say about the atmosphere as there was a large funeral party in the bar but the staff brought our food quickly despite being so busy ( 5 stars for waitress) . Will definitely return

We came here two weeks ago, the meat was all good , I had pork and beef, didn't have Yorkshire as they are too big. All the veg was lovely and fresh, well cooked, but the dinner wasn't very hot. Very nice place to come, it's all been refurbished to look very nice. This is only a small thing, but spoils the dinner if it's not hot.

Being an old Letchworthian, I remember this bar when it was an old world hotel pub, one of the few places that you could get alcohol in Letchworth. How things have changed. Nice modern bar feel with food options. I can't comment on the food as I only had a drink, which was fine. The young staff were friendly enough, so no complaints there. The only reason that I didn't give 5 stars is that I didn't order any food, so can't give this establishment the 'full monty' yet. Recommend.

Went on a Friday morning, was quiet and cozy. They had the buffet on and the food was great! £12.95 for the buffet which is full English plus cereals and drinks and such. Friendly staff made us feel welcome even though we weren't gusts at the hotel. Will definitely be going again. Only downside is the plates weren't warm so if you put a lot on your pate it may get cold before you finish.

Nice food menu and drinks. Fridays evenings are my favourites as they have live music by different musicians. Food portions are large too. I had ordered a starter and by the time by main came, I was already too full!. Book for a table in advance just to br safe as sometimes they're too full.

This is our first visit after its makeover from The old Broadway Hotel. The inside is really well done seats are comfy and the staff are really welcoming, friendly and professional. The food was lovely we had the duck and bourgignon which were delicious. Bit above average prices but beats greasy wetherspoons for quality, would still go to star for breakfast though it's what they do best.

Went today with my friend, absolutely rubbish 9.95 all you can eat, was very minimal everything cooked was warm with a diet coke we both had each our bill come to £14.03 so paid nearly 4quid for a coke, will stick to stonehouse in letchworth or star express both far more better value and definitely hotter

Much nicer inside than I expected - lovely bar area and loads of comfy seating. Good atmosphere, colourful interior and the bar staff have all been lovely and friendly whenever I've been. Good choice of drinks, cocktail happy hour 5-7, regular live music on Fridays (great soul night with DJ), decent burgers, jolly nice Rioja - what's not to like? :)

Lovely atmosphere for a drink but wouldn't recommend this place for food. The food is mediocre and the prices are high.

Three adults and two children, we had the Sunday carvery apart from one of the children who had goujons and fries from the small plate menu. Roast potatoes were good and golden and plenty of veg and trimmings to choose from. Unfortunately we all choose roast beef and it was very tough and chewy and so was left on the plate. The gammon and pork looked nice but as we didn't have that cannot comment. The yorkshires were a great size but were a bit overdone and the plates could of done with being bigger so you could fit meal onto them (they used to be). For puddings we has sticky toffee, and chocolate brownie. The sticky toffee was dry inside ..it should be moist . The brownie was nice. The decor was good...a bit dark in places but this added a cosy feel. The black metal candle holder on our table was too big and got in the way..needed to be a lot smaller ..was fine if you are only having a drink but we had to take off the table when we had all our plates on it. Water glasses could of been taken off too...maybe just ask the customer if they wanted water with meal and then bring them if required. The service recieved from LISA was excellent despite it being very busy ..she was very proffessional and friendly and if I was reviewing just for her it would be 5 stars all the way... I have only dropped one star for the tough chewy beef and dry pudding and would try something different next time . The prices are a tad expensive but a treat to go out and not something we would pay out for every week.
