Sunday carvery was tremendous, Also visited and had the chicken parmo Friendly and helpful staff.

Came in today for a carvery. Great value for money. Thought the selection of veg was great and the meat was lovely as well. I had gammon and beef. Will definitely be back!

Bottomless Brunch was amazing proper cocktails, all made fresh. Highly recommend will definitely be back

Heard some lovely things so popped in today lovely staff had the tapas ,was so good .we will be making it a regular date day once a week .

We attended the play cafe for babies/ toddlers on a Monday. Lots of toys to play with, and friendly, helpful staff. Kids enjoyed playing and their kids meals. Enjoyed my fajitas as well. Reasonably priced too with the 2 course lunch deal. Not everything on the menu was available - only gripe. However only just opened so expected a couple of teething issues. Thanks!

We visited today for my birthday dinner, this was my first and last visit at Dougie’s Tavern. We had a bad experience because and as a Punjabi family we know what a Punjabi thali should be like. It felt like all the food are ready made and heated up in microwave. Only the salad was fresh except the Butter Chicken, Lamb Curry, Chilli Chicken, Naan, Rice and vegetable dish we ordered. 👎

Only popped in for a quick pint, nice atmosphere, good service.

Thoroughly enjoyed Sunday lunch, will be back 😁

Amazing food cooked by top chefs, smashing atmosphere and a great afternoon/evening spent with family and friends. Food is fresh carvery with generous slices of beef, pork, turkey and gammon, fresh veg and plenty of it - Yorkie puds or mince n dumplings or steak pie - proper grub! Fair drinks prices served by lovely staff and entertainment is top class, great outdoor play area for kids and picnic benches to chill outside 😃 It's a little gem!

We love this place. Went to the Bandfest last night and it was brilliant. The host was encouraging people to dance on the tables and everyone had a rocking time. Staff are lovely

Visited Dougies with friends for Sunday lunch. Had been many years ago and we were not disappointed this time around, the carvery was excellent and well priced as were the price of drinks. Place looked a bit tired, but this did not distract from the friendly atmosphere. Planning to visit again soon.

A pub with a long varied history, from the White Lead through to Dougie's Tavern, a busy bar to a derelict building to a popular bar restaurant. On the outskirts of Jarrow towards the river, worth trying just for the breakfasts. Good staff and a carpark to the side.

Sunday carvery today beef was tough but overall it was hot and tasty.

Only thing nice was the Yorkshire puddings! Nice staff. Food was cold. Beef was like cheap boil in the bag with gravy. Mash potato was like water. Veg was like it had been in a bag and microwaved. I would not try this place again. Although nice deco.

We have known Norman and Emma a very long time , they are them most hard working , wonderful people alway make you feel welcome and part of the Dougie's family . It's the only pub a single female would feel safe in I would recommend Dougie's to anyone

Always a good pint and the Italian restaurant (under new management) is really good. I've popped down for lunch a few times with friends and the beer, food and service is has always been spot on.

Just had Sunday lunch and it was the most tasteless ive ever had. Not sure how you can cook beef to the point it tastes of nothing but they managed it.

It was a cold and wet lockdown night, what's new lately? We were all made to feel welcome, food was very good. Drinks service was also good

We had a wonderful meal with very good service and friendly staff. We were served under a marquee and the staff wore masks while serving and hand sanitiser was available so felt covid secure

Good pint reasonably priced. Norman's put a lot of work, effort and time into this new beer garden. Let's hope we get a good English summer and if we do, this will be the place to be.

Ordered 2 Sunday roast to be delivered. Absolutely off the chart. I ordered the beef, came with giant Yorkshire, Roast potatoes, carrot, cabbage,, swede, cauliflower, peas & gravy. Didn't want mash, so they gave extra roasties. Portion size & quality, incredible. Gave up half way through & will be having the rest as an evening meal. My wife ordered the pork, equally fantastic. If you have a small appetite, it could easily be split into two portions

Ordered 4 drinks no pineapple juice in carton so small mixer tipped in glass glass of water loads of floaty bits asked to change glass with bottled cider smeared not clean n glass of coke half way down n something stuck to inside of glass no idea why staff standing to greet cos very unhelpful n unprofessional cutlery on table fork had carrot/swede stuck on it .. obviously nothing to do with bar n no set dress code but can't believe people can come out for Sunday lunch in pyjamas 🤔😵 very disappointed been numerous times as white lead gone right down hill x
