Dough Balls Finnieston in Glasgow City

The food here is 10/10 authentic Italian pizza just like we get back home in Firenze! What makes it even better was the service. I originally ordered on uber eats, but the driver carried the pizza on its side in his bag which completely destroyed one of the pizzas. This was not the pizza shops fault - but they could see that I was having a bad day and made me a fresh one on the spot. I’ll be going back in person from now on - you couldn’t get better pizza or friendlier staff anywhere else in Glasgow!

What can I say, the pizza chef Claudio makes real ITALIAN pizza. Really good, and excellent products.

I ordered on Deliveroo so I am sure part of my overall experience was due to the fact that it was delivered cold. That is unforgivable in my opinion. Then there is the flavor. The dough is over salted and tough. Not pleasant to bite into. The toppings were sparse and the lack of cheese was disappointing. I'm sad because after living in South East Asia for 3 years I was really looking forward to finding an independent pizza place to deliver the goods, especially after reading all the positive reviews on Google. We will never order again.

We order from here all the time but this time there was a hiccup with are order so we called up and explained are probably to the owner himself and he fix it straight away and even gave us complementary dough balls for are troubles so all I can say it that we love dough balls and it’s the best pizza place in Glasgow !

I'm visiting Glasgow so I've only tried here once but the food was top notch. I had the pepperoni pizza which was tasty but a little hotter than I expected. I would definitely use this takeaway again and would recommend that anyone try it if they're after a proper Italian style pizza.

Was at the SEC last week and was craving some good pizza. Came across Dough Balls as it was nice and convenient. Served by Claudio, who was very enthusiastic and happy to make my pizza. You can tell he loves making pizza and put his heart in making the perfect pizza every time. Got a simple margherita with homemade pesto dip, and honestly among the best pizza I've had in the UK. Certainly worth the price and will definitely be revisiting if I visit Glasgow again! Asked him about student/NHS discounts, which they don't offer but he threw in a few box of Nutella doughballs! These were a little dry, but still very good. Overall, highly recommend! Might be a little hard to find due to scaffolding around the shop from construction work.

The pizza is fantastic, and the service is good. They offer vegan options as well. Please note, the place is takeaway only, with no seating available. They also have gluten free options.

I ordered from this place expecting it to be a good restaurant all round considering high reviews and the prices of the food. That did not happen. I phoned them up to ask why it was taking so long to deliver and I was met with a very rude lady who did not help me at all. When I tried to explain the problems I was having she said to go through Uber. However it clearly states on the Uber website that you should phone the restaurant and ask for help with your order. She then hung up the phone on me whilst I was speaking. I then tried to phone them again multiple times and they eventually picked up again. I tried to clearly explain the problem to the same rude women but I didn’t get the impression she cared at all and she then hung up the phone on me yet again. I had to keep trying and phoning the restaurant AGAIN. I was then greeted by I presume the owner or manager who was shouting down the phone at me treating me like I was stupid. He sarcastically said “Am I speaking a different language” which I found very frustrating and insulting. He then also hung up the phone on me. This resulted in me having to cancel my order and losing £30 all because of the restaurant terrible customer service. I would not recommend this restaurant at all and would only order from here if you want to cause yourself stress. £30 down the drain

Ordered a bunch of pizzas for an event and communication was great, ready in time and went down a treat. People loved them!

I came across Dough Balls last night while looking for a good pizza in the area and seen all the amazing reviews. Don’t walk, run to Dough Balls! Pizza is beautiful and priced well for the location, staff are amazing, so friendly and passionate about their food. Claudio, the manager told me that the colours on a pizza - red tomato, white mozzarella and green basil represent the Italian flag, how lovely! 🇮🇹 Will definitely return 😊

The Pizza is VERY delicious - real authentic neapolitan stlye with heaps of toppings! And I also recommend the Nutella Dough Balls als a treat afterwards 😉 The Chef was so welcoming and friendly, you can feel that he enjoys his work and chatting to his customers. Favourite place to get a pizza as a weekend treat. The 16" size and portions are great. Sun Blush Tomatoes & Pesto and Pepperoni Honey Chilli are my top picks! If you go for pickup, be nice to the staff and you might get free Nutella dough balls ;)

We went to Doughballs expecting great pizza, and they totally delivered! The fresh ingredients straight from Italy were amazing. While we were there, we told Claudio, the manager, how much we loved the staff's 'Balls' T-shirts. Claudio, being an absolute legend, gave us one to keep! Friendly staff, the dough is moist and well seasoned, the sauce is well seasoned too and perfectly acidic, and the toppings seem pretty high quality - big recommend

After running too late to make a prior restaurant reservation we decided to pop into here last minute and we couldn’t have been more delighted with this turn of events. We watched our pizzas be made from scratch and the smell alone is to die for, the staff/owners are so kind and generous and I can’t wait to be back in the area to have an excuse to return. Visited on Wednesday for the first time and the pizza was fantastic! We stumbled across this place while trying to find somewhere to eat. Claudio was lovely and made excellent pizzas we went with the hawaain, spicy chicken and some cheese dough balls with pesto dip. He gave us some complimentary Nutella dough balls which were to die for 🤤 recommend, great service!

Stumbled upon Dough Balls after some road diversions. Had always driven past here but never went inside. Tonight was the night. My son and I ordered a 12 inch pizza and a kids 9 inch pizza. One portion of Dough Balls. The owner Claudio added a complimentary Nutella Dough Balls for us to let us eat whilst we waited for our pizzas. They could tell we were first time customers from the way I was studying the menu! Haha! Claudio was very friendly and passionate about his shop and his customer care is just like himself, authentic. We couldn't wait to get home to enjoy the pizzas. Will definitely be back another time. Have not tried Hawaiin Pizza in so long!!

I go to Glasgow 3 or 4 times a year, I met Claudio who is spectacular with his pizzas. It is a stop that will become a fixed point every time I am in Glasgow

I ordered a huge number of pizzas for a teenage birthday party, including for a friend with very serious food allergies - Claudio made perfect pizzas for us, and was really careful about getting the order just right, including creating a special pizza for the friend with allergies. And he gave us Nutella Doughballs, which were amazing!

Fairly expensive, but it’s genuinely the saltiest pizza I’ve ever had - I like salty food but this was genuinely inedibly salty (pesto one particularly so), which is a shame bc the dough is nice! Also not loads of veggie options

Passed this place after a walk around Kelvingrove park and the food did not disappoint! We opted for the dough balls and margarita pizza and honestly hands down, the best tasting food. The garlic balls and garlic dip - best combo. The pizza! The perfect combo of mozzarella and basil - and the base was *chef’s kiss* We were also kindly given Nutella dough balls and safe to say my toddler looked like she went through a tough mudder challenge - she was happy. Personally I would usually rate Doughballs as one of the better pizzas in Glasgow, I’m not sure what happened tonight, just wasn’t up to the usual standards, looked like someone karate chopped it into slices rather than using a cutter and the topping la were all squashed and not 1 side leaning the other bare, overall not great and a bit disappointing. Temperature wasn’t good but that’s most likely deliveries fault. Won’t stop us eating again, most likely a bad night but left unfulfilled.

This place has really gone down hill since it changed ownership. We’ve been ordering regularly from here for the last 3 years and more recent deliveries have been disappointing. Our pizza tonight arrived cold with ubereats (I could see the driver collected and came straight to us -2mins by bike) and wasn’t properly cut so we had to hack at it with a knife to separate the pieces. With all the other pizzerias that have opened in Finnieston I think that sadly our time ordering from Dough Balls has come to an end.

Ordered a delivery from here for the first time tonight. Pizza was amazing! Base was lovely, as was the combination of toppings. Garlic dip was great too. Def reccomend!

Delivery was quick, food was perfect

Quality of pizza gone down hill. Really greasy, and really thick cheese, ordered anchovie marinara. If it had been a meat feast I’d understand lots of grease but not for anchovie marinara. Bit dissapointed.

Decent pizza with quality toppings and a good tomato base which isn’t that common these days. Dough balls were somewhat of a let down, recommended by friends from Glasgow but they were served only slightly warm and were very chewy.

I'm giving a 5 star review because I know the industry and even though I had an issue they sorted it in good faith. There was no bad attitude in dealing with an issue. Pizza is the best. My favourite in the area!
