Double Taste in Newcastle upon Tyne

I order there for so many years, and I really miss old good food from there but today was last time, my king prawns was minimum 3 weeks old, they stunk, like rubber shoes badami with extra nuts, sweet like some put half kilo of sugar.

Ordered from here loads of time 10-15 years,food excellent as usual

Food is fresh but unfortunately not to our taste. We ordered a balti and a madras and the didnt taste as they should, it was very, very sweet. I think they use a lot of carrot in their base gravy which may make it that extra sweet. Chicken tikka was nice in the curry, both starters were also sweet. It would suit the typical British pallet. Mushroom pilau was good and naan was lovely.

chicken was a bit dry other than that it was ok.

poppadoms soft curry swimming in grease garlic chips tasted more like herbs rather then garlic. very disappointing

Mint sauce was missing for the meat samosas. and could not eat 1 of the samosas as it was full of cooking oil and over cooked. It's Saturday night and very busy so probably just a mistake

they have pulled it out the bag, best meat samosa I have ever had and the curry tastes amazing, fluffy and tasty rice and amazing naan. 11 year old has always snubbed indian takeaways but will happily demolish everything on his plate from double taste. Thank you!!!!!

Nice pizzas but delivery was late which was disappointing as when my partner John Anderson was alive the deliveries were always on time or early sadly he passed away very suddenly on 4/4/24

Never usually have a problem with ordering here. But I did order a lamb vindaloo but received chicken vindaloo instead. Which I was gutted about.

The food arrived 45 mins late and was cold. The restaurant said it had only left 10 mins ago. I find that hard to believe. The food was very bland and tasteless. We left half of it and unfortunately will not be ordering from them again. You only get 1 chance at making a first impression.

Pizza had no taste, chicken was chewy too. Tandoori chicken wrap was bland, and actually had a weird taste, did not taste like tandoori chicken, and I'm half Indian and I've ate a lot of it!

this was by far without a doubt the very worst Indians ever. Having a food allergy (severe) I check what is in the dish I order - despite ordering this same dish on numerous occasions and checking ingredients when it's arrived the ingredient was in it and it was only luck that I spotted it. So unable to eat it, chips were rubbish too and tasted old. My partner's wrap thingy had terribly stodgy bread and after specifying garlic sauce, it was some mint thingy that came. I do not recommend at all

I decided to not have the chips and was expecting a sag & garlic aloo or something along those lines. So I am now without chips, or the other offering. A bit disappointed, but my own fault for not checking on delivery.

Food nice but garlic sauce missing

stuffed paratha had nothing in it. biryani was missing tomatoes and cucumber and Keenan nan was very short on keema.

Well normally the food is top notch but this time, I don't know what your done or if you've changed chef but it was outstanding. piping hot, fresh and every single item was cooked to perfection. I think this is easily the best Indian takeaway I've had. if I could give you more stars I would. if your reading this review honestly don't hesitate to order and the family banquet meal is unbelievable value.

Butter curry was a strange colour and wasn’t that nice but the actual chicken tikka was good as was the garlic naan

First time for this Indian. Family banquet ordered. Reasonable choice of starters and mains. Chicken chat quite spicy, onion bahji tasty. Reasonable price.

1st time ordering..food hot and well packed. Meat cooked well and tender. Disappointed in how dry the peshwari naan was... Onion Bhaji also very dry could not taste onion/spices.

food quality was great, chips are nice decent size and the curry sauce was different to most but really nice in spice and flavour. Munchi box comes absolutely packed with food all nicely flavoured again with a full naan bread on top, a couple of sauces and good packaging to keep it hot for a while. only down side was I did put in the comments about being in a meeting and for some way to be notified the food was on the way and this didnt happen at all, not even the driver being on the way, so I was a little snappy with the driver as had to jump out the meeting and it caught me out.

I've ordered before, the food is lovely, and good portion, but it was late and a bit cold on this occasion, they did send a message apologising for the delay. I will order again as this was clearly a one off.

Late over an hour when they specified a time and food was cold to,

The food took three hours to come and we rang them 4 times and still didn’t know where the food was and then apparently they have handed to someone else.

Late order. Called to check status, advised a further 10 minutes, after 15 minutes called back to be told another 3 minutes, I wished to ask a further question but the call handler put the phone down. The order did arrive within 3 minutes (a total of 1 hour 45 minutes after ordering), was missing poppadoms and was cold. Really disappointing. I called to advise as a “for your information”, very apologetic on the phone in fairness, but too late to correct the order.
