This was the first experience for me. Was travelling and was looking for something different. Definitely recommend.

A restaurant roughly made by a foreigner who has worked in a Korean restaurant. In particular, never eat tteokbokki.

Went their with family for dinner and wasn’t disappointed. The food is excellent and service is excellent too. I recommend to go with self grill food rather than pre cooked food. I ordered precooked spicy chicken, along with meat to grill dishes. My precooked food portion was big enough but it was mostly rice and veg with very little chicken in it. The meat to share option for £37 was decent and had plenty of meat. The starters were very delicious and good sized portions. The whole menu is reasonably priced, there is optional service charge of 15%. I was happy to pay but you have choice. There is plenty of parking in multi-story parking next door. There is some on street parking which is free after 7Pm. Over all it is worth a visit, I would go again.

Nice little restaurant, pricey but fantastic quality.

First visit to the spot and I'm still a little undecided. Small portions cooked by yourself over charcoal it is a different experience. Staff give you the basics for cooking but I have to say you need to order associated dishes to the fresh sea food and meat dishes or you may walk away a little short on calories at the end. I nice experience but as a novelty rather than a staple.

The food was really nice and the serve was very fast but not rushed and you don't have to worry about food going cold as you get the chance of cooking all the meat yourself. The atmosphere was really goose but the music was a bit too loud for us as we had to speak louder than we normally would so that we could hear over the music. Overall, my only concern with this restaurant is the volume of the music coming through tne speakers is a bit too loud. Other than the volume of the music everything else was very good and would definitely recommend going there again next time I come back down to Newcastle upon Tyne

Let me get to the point No kimchi in the appetizer? Ridiculous In Hong Kong where I used to live, ALL Korean BBQ restaurants have kimchi in the appetizer! And, 3 scallops for £13? Seriously? And the amount of lettuce wasn’t enough for all the meat that we ordered?

We had a fantastic experience here, the service was exceptional and the staff were so friendly. We had the meat platter, the staff showed us how to cook it and we were left to crack on. Such a fun experience, we loved being able to cook our meat at our own pace. The food itself was fresh and delicious, and seasoned to perfection. The portion size was extremely generous, we struggled to finish. Will definitely be returning!

Every time I come to Newcastle, I always come to this restaurant for dinner. Good food, good service. 🥩🥓🥢 I like the kimchi soup with tofu, very delicious. 🥘 My girlfriend enjoyed the corn with cheese. 🌽 The wine here is also strong. 🍷

Great customer service and atmosphere but here is why I would not recommend this restaurant: waiting time was relatively long considering the restaurant was only less than half full. The barbeque meat was b.l.a.n.d. The grilled prawns however do take up the charcoal flavour, which was good. The sun du bu jigae, tasted like chinese malatang (麻辣燙） which really made me question if this was korean food or chinese food. The crab fried rice had a few spoons of brown crab meat over the top but is really in itself kimchi fried rice. They did ask for a 10% service charge which I declined because of the long wait for our food.

We went at 12 today and apologies for not catching here name, but the girl that served us was fantastic and made our first experience with Korean BBQ a great one. Props to her! Also, the food was delightful, I'm keen to go again!

Enjoyed it lots, food took a bit of time to come out, but dident mind had the whole evening. I only thing I would say is it was a little cramped, the table for us 5 people was way too small! But except for that thoughtless enjoyed it!

Was in Newcastle for holiday and craving rice after a few days of not having it. Found this KBBQ spot and it really hit the spot! Place is modern and clean as well as very organized. Staff were friendly and quick to provide any requests or banchan that was needing a refill. Meat came out quickly and looked high quality. BBQ meat was really great quality and delicious. The place was well ventilated when I stepped out into the UK brisk air, I didn't smell like cooked meat like other Korean BBQ spots. Would definitely come back here when in Newcastle and wanting some KBBQ and rice. Also they do somewhat lateish hours on Friday and weekend so was easy to just walk over around 9pm and still have time to sit and eat. Good food, beer and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Really polite staff, responded very kindly to our needs. The kimchi jigae wassss loveelllyyyt!!! The pos stayed hot till the end. The udon was a little too soft for me. I think they need to time the orders so one person doesn’t have to start eating before the other. Alsoo most importantly if you want to have a barbecue make sure you book in advance. A lot of customers left cause it was reserved. All in all I think they may be ready for an expansion cause they were fullll to the brim. We enjoyed our dinner. Thanks also for playing bigbang❤️

Great Korean BBQ, very tasty, unfortunately not cheap for one person but definitely worth the visit. The staff is extremely friendly and very quick with the delivery of the ordered food.

Seafood pancake was more like an omelette. BBQ meat was very bland - my mum could have done betteer marinating meat. Not worth £120+ that we paid (we didn't even order any alcohol).

When I was struggling to find a place to eat before leaving Newcastle for South Wales, I stumbled across this Korean BBQ restaurant—something I had been wishing for without realizing I had walked past it so many times before! Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by a friendly waiter who looked after me throughout the evening. His attentiveness really stood out, especially since some of the other staff didn’t seem as enthusiastic or engaged. The wait time for my order was minimal, as most of the cooking is done at the table. While I can't critique the cooking itself (since I prepared it), I can say the quality of the ingredients, particularly the vegetables and meat, was excellent. The meat was tender and practically melted in my mouth, though I did encounter a few small bones in one of the cuts. The interior of the restaurant had an industrial charm, complete with overhead ventilation systems designed for the BBQ setups. However, one issue that caught my attention was the exposed wiring on the floor, which appeared unsafe and posed a trip hazard. Despite this, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone craving Korean BBQ. I hope they take note of this feedback to make a few small improvements.

Bought from St James Stack Got a mozzarella corn dog for my son and it wasn't fully cooked. Full chunk of mozzarella through it🤢Offered me a replacement after he'd ate half of it. Erm, no thanks. I remember a time when you'd get offered a refund for poor quality food..... not this place. Avoid

Below par for a few reasons. 1. I wasn't full after leaving even after spending close to £30. 2. they said the service charge was "mandatory" due to group size, this is the first place i've heard this? 3. I paid £7 for 'king oyster mushroom' and i think they were right as saying mushroom not plural because it was a few thin slices of a mushroom for £6.95. Service was average and you think you would get some good value for cooking the food yourself with no chef but you don't.

First time trying an open charcoal Korean BBQ, we are so used to electric fired BBQ places in London. The only downside is that coals get colder the longer you’re cooking. But other than that, was a good experience. The food was good & portion sizes as you’d expect from any Korean bbq were big. We ordered the combination of chicken, beef & pork, and all of it was good. Just have to order extra sauces and lettuce. I’d say it’s Reasonably priced for the size of the food you receive.

One of the best Asian restaurants in town

We have just had a fantastic experience here. We booked in advance and we were lucky to get a barbecue table. It was our first time here so we were not sure what to get. The lovely lady on the phone recommended that we get a barbecue table and in that way we can opt for cooked food if we like. We had a shared cooked plated as a starter and a barbecue meat shared plater for our main. The barbecue was an experience and I would recommend this to anyone. I am looking forward to having visitors and bringing them here. We had a variety of meats which we barbecued ourselves. We will definitely return.

Amazing food and service! I had Korean hot pot for the first time and the lady who served us was so helpful and lovely. She showed us how to cook the food and checked in to make sure we had cooked everything properly /the temperature was right. The food was amazing, sooo tasty, and the portion was huge. Had the best time in this beautiful restaurant with really kind and dedicated staff. Thank you!

I must admit, having never been to a korean Barbecue before, I was extremely nervous about embarrassing myself in front of others and having a bad time. But the staff were calm, patient and funny, took the time to explain how to cook and best enjoy every item we ordered and made the entire process feel natural. I loved it, the staff, the atmosphere. I feel ashamed to say I knew nothing about korean food before, and became VERY excited about it after eating here. Would highly highly recommend and cannot wait to visit again.

Amazing Korean BBQ Experience! It is absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for a night out with friends or family. We tried the Korean BBQ and it was incredible. The marinated beef and pork belly were so flavorful. We also tried a few different flavors of soju, thanks to the helpful recommendations from the staff – they really know their stuff! The service was amazing. The staff were attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed and giving us tips on how to get the best out of our BBQ experience. The food, drinks, and service are all excellent. Highly recommend for a delicious and authentic Korean dining experience! Definitely come back!

I had a terrible dining experience at this restaurant tonight. I ordered a lot of grilled beef, but the restaurant knowingly served meat that had already started to spoil. They tried to cover up the spoilage by sprinkling green onions and other seasonings on top. After I finished grilling and tasted the sour meat, the waiter tried to argue that the meat was marinated and the sour taste was normal. As soon as I got home after the meal, I started experiencing severe diarrhea. This was an awful, nightmare-like experience. I will never come back and do not recommend this place to anyone. I dined at this restaurant tonight and ordered a lot of roast beef and had an extremely bad experience. The restaurant knowingly served the food to the table even though it was already starting to spoil. They try to hide the fact that it has gone bad by sprinkling chopped green onion and other condiments on the surface. When I finished grilling and tasted the sourness of the meat, the waiter argued that it was marinated meat and the sourness was normal. As soon as I got home after finishing the meal, I started having severe diarrhea like crazy. This experience was a nightmare, I will never go there again or recommend anyone to this store. Brilliant meal out. Great food and super good quality meat plus good drinks and service.

I know a few Korean staples but tonight the wife and I tried a spread of unknown dishes and all were fab! You can tell ingredients are the best especially when you have pickled dishes and kimchi as there is no room for error. Dumplings were amazing as was Bibimbap, glass noodles, and pork. Staff are friendly and patient and atmosphere was great 👍

Lovely food also fun having the interactive aspect of the meal. Had a great time with my wife 👍

Haven’t tried the BBQ yet, but have had the a-la-carte options on a few occasions. Portion sizes are amazing, and the food is very authentic. Would recommend!

The most amazing restaurant we have ever eaten at! Portion sizes were massive, definitely get your moneys worth. The chilli crab rice and Korean Fried Chicken were unbelievable! Will be going again. The atmosphere was very chill, the staff were friendly and super helpful, and for our first time doing KBBQ it was a great experience- super easy to do!

The oxtail soup was disappointingly tasteless, but the pancake was excellent!

The food here wasn’t bad, and we finished everything we ordered. This review is rather a commentary on the authenticity of the restaurant. I’m Korean and the food here was not authentic to the Korean food I’ve had in Korea and at home growing up. I don’t think it takes a Korean chef to make good, authentic Korean food, but a chef with a strong and thorough understanding of what Korean cuisine should look & taste like. The sauce on the Jajangmyun was watery instead of thick. The Bulgogi meat was tough and hard to chew, which is contrary to the tenderness it should possess. The Kimchi jjigae lacked flavor, was oily and didnt have a lot of kimchi which was rather ironic. Food was oily in general (see last pic). I’m not a picky eater and I still had a good time but I was more so upset that people would think this is what Korean cuisine is supposed to taste like. It’s not. I do think that if the food is yummy and enjoyable to you that’s what matters at the end of the day. But I cannot say this was an authentic experience. The service was decent, does not warrant the (optional) 10% service fee that was initially added to our bill. Also from what I know, there is no such thing as Bulgogi Jungui. Did you mean Jungol (전골)?

Me and my best friend had an absolutely amazing experience. The food was amazing and hit all the right spots and the staff and service was absolutely lovely. Justin helped us out massively with working the bbq and Leila,Irene and Aurora were so helpful and attentive. Couldn’t have had a better experience. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and families and I am for sure coming back ☺️.

Average of food is ok… the atmosphere is so nice but the quiet bad of service! I can ignore if they didn’t get a service charge 10%. I’m didn’t mind about service much but they make me feel not willingness to pay for service like this! We have to grill the meat and cut it by yourself. Everything are quiet expensive! As you can see crispy fried chicken with the 8.95£ so cute pieces lol. For the grilled meat, not amazing at all. I recommend just Jjambong (the seafood noodles) that the best for me because it’s have a taste that it should be. Not bad for the food and quite tasty! You can have it instead missing authentic Korean food. But, not impressed with the staff that she always look not satisfied to help and recommend anything. Always frowned and to cut corners 🥲. Lastly, for the atmosphere is nice but total is 1/100 because the services of the staffs. Some of restaurants in uk that they don’t have a service charge make me feel that I’m a customer more than here. They make me feel like I came here for the free food lol.

Great Korean BBQ best in Newcastle

The location is just outside the station, so it is very easy to navigate, and this venue is turned away in a nicer area of Newcastle. Staff are very friendly and attentive, they have good flow with their system. We ordered a Sharing meat platter with a few side dishes, rice, kimchi, wings etc.. aswell as a couple rounds of Grape Soju (The best one imo) all of this totaled for 3 of us around 120 pounds which we just split 3 ways. This was us splashing out abit and you could definitely eat here and get a single drink for below 25 pounds a person. Which is what you can expect is most restaunts around Newcastle. Though you also pay for experience and the cooking and social is 100% worth giving abit more value for money. Overall solid choice for any seasoned or new Korean BBQ goer.

First experience of Korean BBQ tables. I have never tasted food like this. Staff were excellent, sliced pork belly was amazing. Cannot praise this restaurant enough. Would not accept an additional tip on top of the standard charge. Can't wait to revisit Newcastle so I can eat there again.

Extensive menu of meat, seafood and veggie korean bbq options, noodles, rice dishes etc. Brilliant pickle selections. Generous portions and not too expensive.

I would definitely recommend coming here for Korean BBQ. The meat feast could feed 3 or 4 people if you don't rush to cook and eat it. Get one or two bowls of rice.

Just wow! The food was amazing! We just kept saying how happy this food made us! They thought their service was poor but we thought they were really fast! Please tell the lady who was at the entrance today that she is amazing and that we will definitely come back here again!

The food is yummy and quite authentic . But because of the staff shortage, the service is a bit slow. Their alcohol and cocktails are also good. I like their pajeon (Korean pancake) the beef quality is also nice

We had a scrumptious dinner. It was raining that day and we thought of samgyeopsal. We did not regret coming in this restaurant. All the foods that we ordered were satisfactory. The service as well and the environment 🥰

Average food. Bad service. Food is ok at best, took ages to get a drinks or food order. More disappointing was that they didn’t have enough cutlery/utensils for the BBQ so we were offered a ‘fork’ to cook the meat with rather than tongues, which was irritating. Also no scissors or knife provided to cut the larger bits of meat. The novelty of the BBQ is the only real reason to visit this place. There is WAY better Korean food elsewhere in the city.

It's a nice place a atully wanted to make my own food but becuse you have to chose three items to use it a a didn't bother and it's properly better to go with a few people they didn't have any sinlge platers or anything the deco is standerd they also serve a few koren alcaholic drinks did enjoy it

We celebrated my brother’s graduation here. The atmosphere was great, such a great buzz about the place especially once the grills are on! The staff were so helpful with the menu and very polite and professional especially Yoki and Layla who chatted with us throughout the dining experience, and seemed to take a real interest in the celebrations. As we were a larger group, we were able to try a range of things from the menu, everyone was pleased with the quality and delicious taste. We’re already planning our next family celebration here!

I knew it would be like this... Typical of Korean restaurants overseas... I thought everyone would know that it doesn't taste like Korea... Of course, the high price is also a bonus.

What can l say. The food was amazing at this little restaurant. But there was one thing that made it better was our YOKE. She was so kind and pleasant. She explained everything to us how we cook our food. There is not many waitresses like her. It was nice to chat to her. She made our day. Thank you YOKE. We will definitely be back.

My Son and I visited for the first time today to get a taste for Korean BBQ. Was a lovely meal, soy garlic chicken starter with pork belly, king oyster mushroom and rib eye bbq and a fried rice to share. The is a three dish minimum for the bbq or a platter, it was a bit more than we could manage but was really tasty. Was just under £50 for the of us including drinks. Would definitely come again!
