First time trying an open charcoal Korean BBQ, we are so used to electric fired BBQ places in London. The only downside is that coals get colder the longer you’re cooking. But other than that, was a good experience. The food was good & portion sizes as you’d expect from any Korean bbq were big. We ordered the combination of chicken, beef & pork, and all of it was good. Just have to order extra sauces and lettuce. I’d say it’s Reasonably priced for the size of the food you receive.

One of the best Asian restaurants in town

We have just had a fantastic experience here. We booked in advance and we were lucky to get a barbecue table. It was our first time here so we were not sure what to get. The lovely lady on the phone recommended that we get a barbecue table and in that way we can opt for cooked food if we like. We had a shared cooked plated as a starter and a barbecue meat shared plater for our main. The barbecue was an experience and I would recommend this to anyone. I am looking forward to having visitors and bringing them here. We had a variety of meats which we barbecued ourselves. We will definitely return.

Absolutely wonderful, can't reccomend this place enough!! Excellent service from staff, lovely cosy atmosphere in the restaurant and the food was delightful. We ordered the meat platter for 2 everything was amazing very filling.

Amazing food and service! I had Korean hot pot for the first time and the lady who served us was so helpful and lovely. She showed us how to cook the food and checked in to make sure we had cooked everything properly /the temperature was right. The food was amazing, sooo tasty, and the portion was huge. Had the best time in this beautiful restaurant with really kind and dedicated staff. Thank you!

I must admit, having never been to a korean Barbecue before, I was extremely nervous about embarrassing myself in front of others and having a bad time. But the staff were calm, patient and funny, took the time to explain how to cook and best enjoy every item we ordered and made the entire process feel natural. I loved it, the staff, the atmosphere. I feel ashamed to say I knew nothing about korean food before, and became VERY excited about it after eating here. Would highly highly recommend and cannot wait to visit again.

Amazing Korean BBQ Experience! It is absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for a night out with friends or family. We tried the Korean BBQ and it was incredible. The marinated beef and pork belly were so flavorful. We also tried a few different flavors of soju, thanks to the helpful recommendations from the staff – they really know their stuff! The service was amazing. The staff were attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed and giving us tips on how to get the best out of our BBQ experience. The food, drinks, and service are all excellent. Highly recommend for a delicious and authentic Korean dining experience! Definitely come back!

I had a terrible dining experience at this restaurant tonight. I ordered a lot of grilled beef, but the restaurant knowingly served meat that had already started to spoil. They tried to cover up the spoilage by sprinkling green onions and other seasonings on top. After I finished grilling and tasted the sour meat, the waiter tried to argue that the meat was marinated and the sour taste was normal. As soon as I got home after the meal, I started experiencing severe diarrhea. This was an awful, nightmare-like experience. I will never come back and do not recommend this place to anyone. I dined at this restaurant tonight and ordered a lot of roast beef and had an extremely bad experience. The restaurant knowingly served the food to the table even though it was already starting to spoil. They try to hide the fact that it has gone bad by sprinkling chopped green onion and other condiments on the surface. When I finished grilling and tasted the sourness of the meat, the waiter argued that it was marinated meat and the sourness was normal. As soon as I got home after finishing the meal, I started having severe diarrhea like crazy. This experience was a nightmare, I will never go there again or recommend anyone to this store. Second time down to Soju and Gogi, have a Beef Platter for my birthday. It is delicious! The chicken mandu is delicious as well. Staff is so friendly. Super recommended

I know a few Korean staples but tonight the wife and I tried a spread of unknown dishes and all were fab! You can tell ingredients are the best especially when you have pickled dishes and kimchi as there is no room for error. Dumplings were amazing as was Bibimbap, glass noodles, and pork. Staff are friendly and patient and atmosphere was great 👍

Haven’t tried the BBQ yet, but have had the a-la-carte options on a few occasions. Portion sizes are amazing, and the food is very authentic. Would recommend!

The most amazing restaurant we have ever eaten at! Portion sizes were massive, definitely get your moneys worth. The chilli crab rice and Korean Fried Chicken were unbelievable! Will be going again. The atmosphere was very chill, the staff were friendly and super helpful, and for our first time doing KBBQ it was a great experience- super easy to do!

The oxtail soup was disappointingly tasteless, but the pancake was excellent!

The food here wasn’t bad, and we finished everything we ordered. This review is rather a commentary on the authenticity of the restaurant. I’m Korean and the food here was not authentic to the Korean food I’ve had in Korea and at home growing up. I don’t think it takes a Korean chef to make good, authentic Korean food, but a chef with a strong and thorough understanding of what Korean cuisine should look & taste like. The sauce on the Jajangmyun was watery instead of thick. The Bulgogi meat was tough and hard to chew, which is contrary to the tenderness it should possess. The Kimchi jjigae lacked flavor, was oily and didnt have a lot of kimchi which was rather ironic. Food was oily in general (see last pic). I’m not a picky eater and I still had a good time but I was more so upset that people would think this is what Korean cuisine is supposed to taste like. It’s not. I do think that if the food is yummy and enjoyable to you that’s what matters at the end of the day. But I cannot say this was an authentic experience. The service was decent, does not warrant the (optional) 10% service fee that was initially added to our bill. Also from what I know, there is no such thing as Bulgogi Jungui. Did you mean Jungol (전골)?

We came for a stag do - 10 friends - the food and service were amazing. Food is fresh and tasty, service is excellent and fast, big portions and good prices. Thank you for a lovely hospitality and food! Really recommended.

Me and my best friend had an absolutely amazing experience. The food was amazing and hit all the right spots and the staff and service was absolutely lovely. Justin helped us out massively with working the bbq and Leila,Irene and Aurora were so helpful and attentive. Couldn’t have had a better experience. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and families and I am for sure coming back ☺️.

Average of food is ok… the atmosphere is so nice but the quiet bad of service! I can ignore if they didn’t get a service charge 10%. I’m didn’t mind about service much but they make me feel not willingness to pay for service like this! We have to grill the meat and cut it by yourself. Everything are quiet expensive! As you can see crispy fried chicken with the 8.95£ so cute pieces lol. For the grilled meat, not amazing at all. I recommend just Jjambong (the seafood noodles) that the best for me because it’s have a taste that it should be. Not bad for the food and quite tasty! You can have it instead missing authentic Korean food. But, not impressed with the staff that she always look not satisfied to help and recommend anything. Always frowned and to cut corners 🥲. Lastly, for the atmosphere is nice but total is 1/100 because the services of the staffs. Some of restaurants in uk that they don’t have a service charge make me feel that I’m a customer more than here. They make me feel like I came here for the free food lol.

Great Korean BBQ best in Newcastle

The location is just outside the station, so it is very easy to navigate, and this venue is turned away in a nicer area of Newcastle. Staff are very friendly and attentive, they have good flow with their system. We ordered a Sharing meat platter with a few side dishes, rice, kimchi, wings etc.. aswell as a couple rounds of Grape Soju (The best one imo) all of this totaled for 3 of us around 120 pounds which we just split 3 ways. This was us splashing out abit and you could definitely eat here and get a single drink for below 25 pounds a person. Which is what you can expect is most restaunts around Newcastle. Though you also pay for experience and the cooking and social is 100% worth giving abit more value for money. Overall solid choice for any seasoned or new Korean BBQ goer.

First experience of Korean BBQ tables. I have never tasted food like this. Staff were excellent, sliced pork belly was amazing. Cannot praise this restaurant enough. Would not accept an additional tip on top of the standard charge. Can't wait to revisit Newcastle so I can eat there again.

Extensive menu of meat, seafood and veggie korean bbq options, noodles, rice dishes etc. Brilliant pickle selections. Generous portions and not too expensive.

I would definitely recommend coming here for Korean BBQ. The meat feast could feed 3 or 4 people if you don't rush to cook and eat it. Get one or two bowls of rice.

Just wow! The food was amazing! We just kept saying how happy this food made us! They thought their service was poor but we thought they were really fast! Please tell the lady who was at the entrance today that she is amazing and that we will definitely come back here again!

The food is yummy and quite authentic . But because of the staff shortage, the service is a bit slow. Their alcohol and cocktails are also good. I like their pajeon (Korean pancake) the beef quality is also nice

We had a scrumptious dinner. It was raining that day and we thought of samgyeopsal. We did not regret coming in this restaurant. All the foods that we ordered were satisfactory. The service as well and the environment 🥰

Average food. Bad service. Food is ok at best, took ages to get a drinks or food order. More disappointing was that they didn’t have enough cutlery/utensils for the BBQ so we were offered a ‘fork’ to cook the meat with rather than tongues, which was irritating. Also no scissors or knife provided to cut the larger bits of meat. The novelty of the BBQ is the only real reason to visit this place. There is WAY better Korean food elsewhere in the city.

It's a nice place a atully wanted to make my own food but becuse you have to chose three items to use it a a didn't bother and it's properly better to go with a few people they didn't have any sinlge platers or anything the deco is standerd they also serve a few koren alcaholic drinks did enjoy it

We celebrated my brother’s graduation here. The atmosphere was great, such a great buzz about the place especially once the grills are on! The staff were so helpful with the menu and very polite and professional especially Yoki and Layla who chatted with us throughout the dining experience, and seemed to take a real interest in the celebrations. As we were a larger group, we were able to try a range of things from the menu, everyone was pleased with the quality and delicious taste. We’re already planning our next family celebration here!

I knew it would be like this... Typical of Korean restaurants overseas... I thought everyone would know that it doesn't taste like Korea... Of course, the high price is also a bonus.

What can l say. The food was amazing at this little restaurant. But there was one thing that made it better was our YOKE. She was so kind and pleasant. She explained everything to us how we cook our food. There is not many waitresses like her. It was nice to chat to her. She made our day. Thank you YOKE. We will definitely be back.

My Son and I visited for the first time today to get a taste for Korean BBQ. Was a lovely meal, soy garlic chicken starter with pork belly, king oyster mushroom and rib eye bbq and a fried rice to share. The is a three dish minimum for the bbq or a platter, it was a bit more than we could manage but was really tasty. Was just under £50 for the of us including drinks. Would definitely come again!

I called on a Tuesday to book a birthday meal for my husband for 7:30pm on the coming Saturday. I confirmed the date twice on the call, making sure it was this Saturday. When I arrived, the car park near it had a queue (Dean Street multi story) so I rang to let them know we were running a little late due to this (only by 5 minutes, on call they said they can hold table for 15 mins hence why I informed them of delay) but turned out there was a booking mix-up, and the restaurant claimed we were booked for the previous day instead. The restaurant couldn't accommodate us as was fully booked now. To top it off they said they couldn’t see my call as they were getting a ‘Wi-Fi upgrade’, but I could see the call on my log for the same number. I was disappointed by the poor booking management, especially for an expensive place and it was so deflating to have to let my husband down like that out of my control. Next day find a voicemail offering me 10% off for the inconvenience, insulting tbh. Ended up having to find a last minute place, which turned out way better than expected anyways.

The only Korean restaurant I go to in Newcastle. Husband and I have lived in Seoul for 10 years and their food is close to what we used to have in Korea. I wish they informed us about the 10% service charge in advance though.

Thank you for accommodating us on Saturday after I decided to bring in my student pharmacy friend. What a truly great experience she had and the additional taste of her homeland was extra special. Food served promptly and correctly waitress was very courteous and polite. We will be returning soon but we were on Saturday in a bit of a rush . Well done all of you . Highly recommend this place and Money here is well spent

Real Korean style in Newcastle. The chicken is a bit sweet ! But the kimchi soup is perfect they come with rice!

I was initially worried that the minimum order for a barbecue was 3 plates, and it would be too much for myself. The worry was for naught as the portions were tiny and manageable alone. No galbi on menu, bulgogi were large thick slices and rib eye was better off as steak. Disappointed that kimchi was chargeable and not part of the banchan. Bean sprouts had a bad taste to it but cucumber was good. Extra gochujang were shockingly charged at £1. Perhaps I was too used to korean barbecue in their native forms, and not accustomed to UK korean barbecue. Staff was not receptive and ended the conversation that most of their customers were Koreans. Soju mixer was eye opener, because when I asked if it contains soju and they said yes but the taste was random. I ordered the large glass with doubt and alas soju mixer is just soju mixer, soju to be ordered separately. I paid for the service charge despite it being optional because there was indeed service with the staff helping me to cook and i appreciate the assistance.

Excellent authentic Korean food with a big menu, plenty to choose from! The servers are very friendly and hospitable. The chicken wings are incredible! Thank you for a great evening and delicious food!

I honestly thought I was gunna hate this place, the thought of going to a restaurant and cooking my own food just seemed abit backwards to but I was surprisingly blown away with how much fun this was, the meat was so fresh and had a great selection of cuts, the flavours were great and the accompaniments just elevated everything about each meat, I can see why some people have said it was stressful but I think the key is to not try cook too many things at once and the staff are very helpful in recommending which order or cooking times Thank you to all the staff and I can't wait to come back

A bit pricey, but the food is absolutely delicious. The service is excellent too. The servers are knowledgeable, helpful, and good in providing recommendations.

I'm not Korean, but this place makes me wish I was so I could have grown up eating this sort of food. It gud!! Got the beef bulgogi, fried rice (mixed it in with the bulgogi leftover sauce) and sesame chicken wings. All of it was incredible and fairly priced!

Food was really good considering it was on the pricier side. Waitresses were not as friendly as the waiters..

A lovely Korean BBQ experience, with beautifully presented ingredients and attentive staff. While being on the pricier side, one certainly comes here for the BBQ experience and the tastefully marinated dishes. Especially with food cooked over charcoal, there is a distinct delicious smoked taste 😄😁 Our only issue we faced was an incessantly noisy motor suction fan in front of us, in which the staff tried to quieten multiple times but failed. So while it was delicious food, the noise had to be tolerated. We were just unlucky to be seated there.

Really enjoyed the meal this evening. We'd actually booked to go to another place but turned up at this venue thinking we had arrived! But they got us a seat and looked after us well. Why haven't I been here before?! We will be back!!!

We got the meat feast platter plus some squid for the bbq plus a few other dishes and sides to try between 4 of us. For £30 a head we only barely managed to fit everything on the table and the quality of the food was great, the meat was absolutely delicious. All in all value was great therefore. Running the bbq is a bit of a handful while trying to pick at the various plates but I suppose there is a knack to this and we'll do better next time (and order a little less). As for the restaurant it was pretty quiet which suited us though I can imagine it being busier as a few tables came in while we were eating. Partner (who enjoys Korean culture) very much enjoyed the music also. Next time I think I'll take the train so we can have some soju also. All in all a great experience and lovely food.

Delicious food and ambience .. i tried their seafood pancake and kimchi soup soup its that i recommend most ... And seafood tofu soup is awesome .. no words... Must try in Newcastle

The Korean fried chicken is very expensive, only 4pc, even more expensive than in London.

Mediocre at best. Ordered meat platter, non of the meat was sauced plain from the butcher. Ordered vegetable noodles, size of the noodle was more like a spaghetti than noddle and it was soo salty so no likey. Fried rice is not very fried just put 2 spring onion on it send it. Boiled only. 1 star given only for the atmosphere and real coal fire to cook it. Will not come again wouldn’t recommend.

I have had Korean bbq here before and it was average. I tried other dishes today, and the fried chicken wings is good but the spicy beef soup is a bit disappointing. If felt like they just chopped some black pepper marinated stake and throw into a Kimchi cup noodle soup without noodles. Also too little meat and too many vegetables. Doesn’t worth about 13 pound even if it came with rice. I was expecting some sliced thin beef not something like stake strips, definitely not black pepper stored at the bottom of the soup. Also the service is very average yet they charge you for 2 pound for service if you are not going there in a group of 6. This place is not really worth going.

Nice vibe, lovely spread of Korean cuisine and BBQ. Ventilation is excellent as we didn’t come out smelling like grease despite many other tables were barbecuing. Very close to Dean Street parking.

Amazing korean food, lovely ambiance and staff are kind and friendly. The loos are super clean too. Specially loved their Kimchi pancake, so tasty and the right crispy. I also liked that you can order lots of small dishes to share and they bring them at the same if requested, so no one has to wait for a dish. The decor is quite interesting and fun. Overall, highly recommended.
