Double Happiness in Rugby

I’ve ordered here many times before and I decided to order again today and the woman taking my order was so obnoxious for no reason? The first time I called no one picked up so I called again after 15 minutes, to which she picked up and said something angrily, and then proceeded to call me an IDIOT before ending the call on me. I was obviously very confused I thought maybe she had been talking to someone else. I called again another time just to see if I could place my order, to which the woman then proceeded to blame me for calling ‘too many times’ even though the first time she never picked up and the second time she called me an idiot and ended the call? Last time I’m ordering from here, what an embarrassment she is.

They’re portions are shrinking! Love some other restaurants in town but DH was the most generous. Now they’re not. So I’ll probably order from other places more. Sorry guys

The quality of the food from this takeaway has dropped. The crispy chicken was soft and not spicy. Every dish lacked flavour and for this place, this is strange. Their food has become very ordinary, I wonder if they have a new chef. We will be looking elsewhere.

Food is lovely, and staff are really friendly, I would absolutely recommend!

Ordered a meal and it was very oily and not very nice. Some things better than others. But overall wouldn’t recommend. Also were rude on the phone - rushing us to answer before we could even speak.

I usually order for delivery and definitely delivered piping hot. Dumplings, Chow mein and chicken noodles soup are my personal favourites.

First time order chicken curry and salt and pepper chicken with salt and pepper spare ribs 🤩good size portions it will be my number one Chinese now lovely and tasty definitely recommend

Only 2nd time I have ordered from here but both occasions the food has been lovely, tasty and hot on delivery. Definitely be using in future.

Top quality Chinese takeaway. If you're looking for a good take out in rugby this is an excellent choice. We ordered a big variety of food and all of it was delicious.

Lady in bad mood.no polite service no kindness patience with the customer.no double hapiness, not even one…we just left them forever..

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING, I HAD A CHICKEN HEAD IN MY CHICKEN BALLS. unprofessional lady who wouldn't get her finger out her nose spoke rudely too me during the whole exchange and proceeded to tut and shrug her shoulders.

Food was great, and will be coming back. My only downside is the cleanliness of the front of house; that hasn't been cleaned in a while.

One of the best Chinese places I have had food from. The portions are big and full of flavour, staff are helpful and so much to choose from. I have tried a lot from the menu and must say the prawn toast is the best I have had from anywhere, spare ribs awesome and big portion, battered chicken balls, crispy beef, sweet and sour, chow mein all taste sooooo good, and not many places taste like the are cooked fresh for you. Would defo recommend

Having bought no food with onions, having picked out the bits of meat I was left with half a bowl of onions. What a rip off. Loved this place but now would like a refund. I spent forty pounds on onions with a few lucky dips of meat and squid 😡

The food took ages to get and it was like it was microwaved, it was not hot all the way through and curry was consistency of water, not good at all..

Absolutely delicious.very hot on delivery.. finally I found a Chinese that put crunchy onion n bean sprouts in my chow mein...and prices very good

Most of my orders are chicken wings, nice and spicy also portions a large and the food prices probably the lowest.

Gave this place a try for a change, Wished that I had not of bothered now, when I was waiting at the counter I could here a small child coughing / choking constantly In the KITCHEN, when I got home the spare ribs were ok but the Chicken fried rice was horrid, greasy bland & tasteless and had hardly any chicken In It, The pancake roll smelt putrid / off, most of the rice and all the pancake roll went In the bin !!

I'm not sure I've had a more flavourful Chinese takeaway before. Very impressed

Please ignore the idiotic man below. I've heard this story and he did in fact order chicken. Then rang 3 more times harassing these poor people. They are a fab Chinese take away and care so much about there service and always do the best food. I visit frequently and I can not fault any order I have had! Defo 10/10 if there was the option.

Owner picks her teeth whilst you wait for your order, if that does not put you off the abysmal quality of the food will,. Has been good in the past but now probably one of the worst Chinese takeaways in the UK.

We have been using this takeaway for 22yrs, owned by different people and most time good. However, we will no longer be using this takeaway. The order was simple but they messed it up, We got chicken instead of prawns. We phoned up but the lady was adamant that I had ordered chicken. I told her that my wife does not eat meat only fish. Well that night she ended up eating chicken for the first time in 32 years by accident. I told the lady we always order the same dish, we never deviate because we only buy from there on odd occasions. The chicken dish was abysmal, it looked awful and tasted vile, I wondered if it was supposed to be sweet and sour, if so it was dramatically off. There was one solitary piece of pepper. This was a truly terrible experience but the dog enjoyed the chicken but there again she eats used tissues she finds in the street.

Easily to say : double mistakes! Chef need to back to China to learn how to cook !

It's not as good as it once was

We've recently moved to the area, and tried Double Happiness for the first time tonight. Really glad we did. Lovely, friendly welcome. Superb food, clearly prepared with pride.

The food was horrible the taste was so but so bad, we didn't eat anything plus the order was extremely late and the staff that delivered my food was very rude. you lost a customer.

we ordered our meal, while at my parents it gave me a time, then delivered 25 minutes early. Which meant our meal was delivered cold and was wrong!!

Beef chow mien was not beef ... contained a meat that i couldn't identify !!! Disgusted!!! Food standards will be contacted.

Rice was a bit dry but putting a little sauce on it helped. Was delivered early so was great. Fantastic overall

I ordered from this restaurant because rubby express was close. Food was awful. I ordered chicken satay and duck in plum sauce. On both dishes was lots pineapple. Satay have to be spice was really sweet. Duck was not fresh and very tough.

Great food. Only problem is that every time the soup leaks as the containers are damaged. Should switch to the plastic containers.

Duck was overcooked, dry and tough as old boots. Crispy shredded beef was nice. Everything else was average.

The food was delieved 2 hours early and I was not informed when it was delieved so when I received it my food was cold. I was not impressed with this restaurant.

I have used Double Happiness a few times now with the food being delicious and ready at the stated collection time.

Asked to come to back door but rang front door bell. Duck was dry and tasted old but chicken with pineapple was delicious asked for ginger to be added, it was and was stunning

We had the wrong curry delivered and the chicken was pink. The chilli chips were stale.

Said would arrive at 9.10 then 9.20 then arrived 8.45. More sauce on kung po would have been nice but delicious anyway. Wan ton superb.
