Coffee is next level here. It’s the best I’ve found in the area. Never been disappointed with the coffee or the food (I’m developing a bit of a dependence on the salted caramel brownie). I love the rotating roasters and guest filter and espresso. It’s often busy but I take that as a sign that the coffee is good and worth the wait. Even when busy, the staff take the time to get the coffee spot on. I wish there was more seating (London rents, what can you do?) but the church grounds are right out back if the weather is good.

Coffee taste nice, but I thought it’s quite pricy for what it is -£3.9 for reg oat latte, which in size looks more like a small cup rather than regular. The place is usually busy, there is almost no space inside, so it feels very crowded. I’ve waited 10 min for my coffee to go, which I think it’s quite long considering there was only four people waiting in front of me. The staff are friendly, although barista lady looked stressed.

I've tried most of the coffee places on this street and Dose is the best! The coffee just tastes better... I don't know why! Can get very busy and space is small so best for takeaway. There is a one way system so you can leave by the back door.

Always great coffee (Square Mile as house coffee plus a rotating guest selection of espresso and filter) and small bites. It is cosy space so not suited for big groups. Definitely best of the bunch around the Barbican / Farringdon.

Loved it - while a really small place (thus -1 for atmosphere), it's a really cozy place with some fantastic coffee. Went for an anzac cookie and decaf (yep, sorry), and it had an absolutely fantastic aftertaste which I still can't place on anything specific. Good stuff, love it, go there.

Been here several times after appointments at Barts. Coffee (from Square Mile) is truly the best we’ve had every time and the cakes are always fresh and very nice. Staff are incredibly pleasant too.

Top tier coffee taste, tried flat white extra hot milk. Made to perfection and tasted just right. Perfect coffee tasting and not bitter at all. Banana bread toasted was lovely and overall highly recommend them 🤩

I think this might be my favourite coffee shop ever ! One of the best cups I’ve had and the funniest interaction with the baristas given it was rush hour - the line that extends all along the shop and onto the street is testament of the good coffee. The pain au chocolat was also delish. The playlist they had on at 8:15 am was so rogue I loved it ! Who doesn’t want a some rock and roll to start the morning If the store was open on weekends I’d definitely be here every Sunday !

Favourite coffee shop in London. They serve red brick coffee but it tastes better here than anywhere else I've had it, possibly due to water filter and barista skills. Food is also great including the avo toast with feta, breakfast muffins, bacon halloumi ciabatta, banana bread, and croissants. Good for takeaway but also nice to sit and work in or just ponder life.

I'm usually picky with my coffee but this place was up to standard! Small cafe, offering coffee and some small pastries. I enjoyed my cappuccino and my husband enjoyed the unusual choc+chai.

Best coffee in London. Always playing a wide range of great music that you won’t hear in a normal coffee shop or store. This cafe has a ton of character, knows who and what they are, and aren’t about to change!

Hardly any seating...what is there is cramped. Coffee served less than luke warm. Uninspiring.

Love the coffee (truly excellent) and the mini omelettes, in particular. Great spot in an interesting location. Two minor observations: pastries could be better (smaller and more authentic); and the owner could do with cracking a smile a little more often :)

Busy spot on weekdays but they have a system and it works fast. Great coffee and long time spot for a great fix. Definitely recommended if in the ’hood. Plus they play awesome tunes!

Hand down the Best cappuccino I’ve had in ages (made by person in black purple top and tattoo sleeve). I also got warm Friand which was first for myself. 110% recommend. The only down side is they close quite early.

We called in here for a restorative coffee after our train journey from Cheltenham before booking in to our nearby hotel. What a great choice - they serve a perfect flat white by any measure. We even took a bag of beans home with us. Highly recommended!

Great choice of coffee, made the way you like it. Recommend the 'redbrick', very different, coffee that really does taste fruity. Expensive by the bag but tasty in the cup! Also do a great choice of breakfast goodies including fresh porridge.

If only this was my local coffee shop! I was aimlessly walking around London and the board outside got my attention. I place is clean and has a chilled vibe. The guys were friendly and talkative. The coffee was Amazing! Also bought an oatmeal cookie that I forgot about until I got home - then my mum enjoyed it so much she didn't even offer me any! I'm gonna try and make it back sometime, somehow.

Exceptional filter coffee, and fantastic service. They went out of their way to give me a table near a power point so that I could charge my phone as I was traveling, even kindly asking a couple to move tables. But be warned there's limited seating and no toilet!

Best coffee in London! Plus an amazing variety of breakfast options for a small caffee, most of which is made directly in store! You can choose your kind of beans, and also the staff is very friendly and recommending. If you want you can also buy the coffee you just drank to make it home for yourself. A nice place! Will definitely come more often when in Barbican.

Good coffee but rather small place

Overlooking the ‘rump-side’ of Smithfield Market, this measured small ‘Dose’ delivers a coffee wallop. A small selection of the pastries/lite bites in pocket space, serving a commendable ☕️ coffee. The staff are capable and satisfactorily detached, not necessarily a bad thing.

Dose know how to make a good cup of coffee. If you drop in - ask for the banana cake (toasted of course and do not decline the butter). I stay on lactose-free side but still stick to the full butter. Location is convenient and historical: between St. Paul's, Barbican and Farrington..

Celebrating 150 years of Smithfield Market and needed a coffee! So glad we called. A tiny place but we managed 2 seats. Delightful staff. (Haven’t been to London in years and have been so pleasantly surprised at the friendliness of staff). Wonderful tasty ciabatta, bacon avocado and halloumi! Great price too.

I've recently moved to the area for work, and this is my number one coffee spot. Reasonable prices, excellent coffee and I love the halloumi, avocado and bacon breakfast panini.

Have been meaning to stop by this place and had the chance recently. It was definitely worth the wait. Really lovely coffee. As it is very tiny it’s not ideal for hours of lounging - which is not necessarily a bad thing! Only suggestion would be to have some coconut milk as a dairy free option.

Really good coffee (I had a double espresso), friendly and efficient staff. There's not a lot of space to sit, but no problem finding a seat on a weekend morning. It's certainly a lot better than the chain coffee shops that seem to be taking over the area.

Nestled among the trendy gin-joints of Smithfields market, Dose is small chain (?) of independent coffee shops offers single estate, blends and generally beautiful coffees and cakes in a homespun ambiance. Vegans or lactose-intolerant types well catered for with oat or almond milks and the cakes way better than your run-of-the-mill dried out specimens available in lesser establishments. Music kept down to a dull roar so conversations are possible. Good place for a leisurely read, or companionable chat. Very small, so don't be put off by the scrum of customers at popular hours, it IS well worth the wait, believe me. They operate the ubiquitous loyalty card scheme, so if you work or live in the area, or visit often, you will be well-rewarded (geddit?!)

Coffee connoisseurship in a friendly atmosphere. A few tables for a social or business catch up and pastries plus decent sandwiches for lunch. A very reliable local.

Good coffee. The guy made a batch of filter and said he messed it up so I had to wait a while longer but he was apologetic and i wasn't in a rush.

Had a perfect piccolo here today. The milk was at the perfect temperature. Great experience overall.

Had a Flat White. Lovely texture (perfect microfoam), right milk balance and temperature. Complex flavor, warm and hints of milk chocolate, but also a light fruitier tone, not sharp but complementary.
