Delicious dosas, very reasonable & lots of variety. We came on a Monday evening the night before our son’s graduation & all loved it! There are no frills to the restaurant but it’s clean & the food is freshly cooked & delicious. Highly recommend.

This is one of our local Indian food restaurants and visited it on many occasions . Delicious food, highly recommend Butter Paneer Massala. Service depends on the waiter, mainly friendly. Rather outdated surroundings, low chairs , might be important for people with mobility issues. Very cold in the restaurant in autumn/winter months. Recommend a take away for this period.Cash payment only. They serve alcoholic drinks as well as soft drinks. Could pay more attention to cleanliness, table wiping and mopping floor.

Yummy dosa, cheap and good variety, I had the plain one which was a little mild but super delicious and would 100% come again

Worst experience in dosa xpress, I visited this restaurant yesterday evening, I was starving at that time, they wont accept card payments ,I requested the service ppl for bank transfer and they said no. How these guys wont accept card payments in this digital payment world and also when I asked them “can I get the cash from nearby cash machine” how can they ask ppls personal belongings? they asked my mobile phone to place it there. How can the people so rude to customers. And when I asked them how can I place my phone? They just answered that its there manager order. How can a manager be like that, i dont know these all the are the stunts for tips. Dont give tips to these service ppl, who even dont know how to treat customers. Thanks for such a experience.

had been recently to quality and taste is not the same as it used to be. Had requested portion of sambar for take away was refuse when in the recent past it was given without any fuss.

Very bad experience, food was very oily, dosa tasted very bad, serviced in a plastic plates and very over prices for the quality and service they offer. We will never go back!

The dosa was so yummy , we ordered cheese dosa, chicken masala dosa, vadai, plain dosa ..OMG since my last 2 years of food tasting in Uk ..I suggest DOSA EXPRESS dosa menu ..Moreover I ordered Chicken Soup.it was so delicious…hot and superb..but the quantity was limited in a al bowl…And we alao order masala tea unfortunately it wasn’t that much tastier 🥲 But overall the food explored at Dosa express was excellent and the staffs were also so kind and welcoming to customers

As a Coeliac I often eat Southern Indian food and love dosas as they are naturally gluten free. I went in last night and when the waiter (who also looked like the chef) brought our menus, I mentioned that I needed to eat gluten free. He replied that it was all on the menu and walked away. We looked at the menu and although vegetarian was clearly marked, GF wasn't. There was a section at the bottom of the menu that said to 'ask staff for the gluten free menu'. My friend went to find the waiter and asked if we could have this menu and was told that 'nothing on the menu is gluten free'. This seemed very odd as usually pretty much everything in Southern Indian restaurants with the exception of bread is gluten free and the menu stated that they had a gluten free menu. No further assistance or explanation was offered so we left. Really disappointed as I love supporting local businesses and would have loved to add this place to one of my usual places to visit.

Recently ordered take away some dishes the food was OK and it was lunch time. Suddenly the Restaurant has started charging for take away. It seems to be big rip off being regular to the restaurant wont be bothered going back to Take away any more. They don't even take Debit or credit I guess dodging VAT.

We love love love the Dosa’s here, authentic flavor and super pocket friendly. We always start with the Paneer Manchurian, and dhai puri followed by a masala dosa each. We always mean to try something new but never have any space after we’ve had our fav’s

Delicious food - I had the masala dorsa and onion Bharj is and both were great! The portion sizes were big and the meal was very good value for money.

I was very pleased to visit DosaExpress again! The masala dosa, dahi puri and onion bhaji were excellent and the staff were very friendly. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Been there twice over the Christmas and new year period . Once as a family of 4 and then again with two friends as well. Nice food, tasty and fresh. The staff were very friendly and my kids enjoyed the food as well. Kids gave them 10/10 and also enjoyed the selection of ice creams. The portions could be a little big bigger but i guess they have to keep costs down without increasing prices. Will definitely visit again in next couple of months (less time as kids back to to school and we are all back to work!)

The food here is sooo good. Crisp dosas. Gorgeous puri with a yogurt sauce. V good chicken chettinad. It’s just a cafe but actually a v good place for an evening meal.

Might not be the most romantic of settings but the staff are friendly and helpful, the food is really tasty and generous portions and all for a very reasonable price.

Unfortunately, this restaurant has refused to serve their food if you have a nut allergy. This is a shame as their food was good and price was reasonable.

Great taste, good portion to fill you up. Tried masala dosa, Mysore masala and rava onion dosa. All were equally delicious! The variety of chutneys and potato bhaji was excellent. Food is extraordinary, the seating and ambience is okish.

The service was appalling. Some arrive 15mins some arrived 40mins late and some didn’t even get to our table. One item undercooked served to us. Ordered for glasses of water, comes back with less number of glasses. Shocked….never ever going back. Food is just okay...

We visited this place in October 2019 , the food was excellent, fresh and proper South Indian food. I will recommend it to anyone and will go there again. You must appreciate South Indian food to go there.

Can't understand why there are critical reviews on here. I've never found it to be unclean and I've eaten regularly at the restaurant. It is also unfair to criticise the establishment for not accepting card payments.

The idlys were good, as was the masala dosa. However I was disappointed that you can't pay by card. Seems a bit backward.

El aparcamiento era un problema. Si buscas aparcamiento tendrás que aparcar enfrente del restaurante dentro de la zona residencial. El ambiente y la atmósfera eran normales y no se hacía nada grandioso aquí. Pedí masala dosa que era extremadamente crujiente y comenzó a desmoronarse en todas partes dentro del plato. El chutney de coco no estaba a la altura, pedí un huevo masala dosa y les pedí que lo hicieran menos crujiente y sabía muy bien. ¡Es sorprendente llegar a un restaurante como este donde no aceptan pagos con tarjeta sino solo efectivo! ! Aunque había una máquina de tarjetas visible. Ordenó un lassi meeti que era de nuevo 1. 5 de 5, el té masala era 3 de 5. Puntuación general de 3 de 5, era un lugar decente y solo visitaría este lugar si realmente estoy deseando más comida del sur de la India

This restaurant serves delicious, good value, unpretentious and authentic south indian food. It has a great range of dishes on the menu too, much better than your usual indian takeaway/restaurant.

Food were tasteless, cold. Our daughter ordered Poori and Potatao Curry ( one of her fav). she touched the potato curry only once and she said I don't want it. They were very cold guess it was not made fresh and served the leftover from previous day.

South Indian hunting for south indian food not un-usual. Found this and visited them based on reviews. Food was ok . Tried Idli , vada and dosa . Dosa is recommended. Other varieties like parotta or oththappam below average.

This basic café / restaurant serves very good S Indian food at low prices. There is a bewildering variety of dosas from which to choose, as well as more mainstream "Indian" dishes. Vegetarians are very well catered for, but there is a good range too of meat-based dishes.

My husband & I visited the restaurant and were disgusted at the state of the floors, the flooring was covered in stains and was littered with bits of food and chairs had oil marks everywhere, the base of the tables were dirty and splashed

Este swift lugar barato sirve una fantástica selección de comida vegetariana (vegana no pedir prórroga) platos del sur de India. Delicioso - si no dosas has probado uno daría un enorme "crepes" llena con varios vegetarianos/opciones de carne servido con una variedad de salsas y salsas.

Great service, great food, recommended very busy so get there early. I recommend the Masala Dosa and there is a Manchurian dish which is lovely but the staff will advise if you ask them. Parking is not hard locally and the place is clean

This is a little gem, after first eating here maybe a quarter of the time I eat out I chose to eat here, delicious dosa good selection and you certainly won’t find better value.

I literally can't get enough of this place. Such amazing food and service. I eat here until I'm close to passing out! The chicken drumsticks are incredible and today I tried the mutton dosa.... it's all so good. Everything is! Even got fries to go on the side and the quality is perfect... along with the price. Even got some to take home.

We went there to after long time thinking it will be good this time, but had to say we were not happy at all even on this visit.

We went in on Saturday afternoon and were seated quite quickly. Drink order again taken quickly and arrived. Starters Batura and Chicken 65 came at different times but not a real issue. The Channa was in a tiny tiny bowl which made it hard to actually eat with the Batura but it was really good even if the Batura was not puffy but flat.

Dosas are tasty, huge and cheap. I once tried the veggie curry, never again, I will stick to ordering dosas.

As a fan of south indian cuisine, and a frequenter of one of the major dosa chains, I thought I would give Dosa Xpress a try. And I was not disappointed.

I have never yet been disappointed here. Service can be a little slow when busy but the food makes up for any delay.

I've just been here for a meal with a friend. It is Saturday evening and the place was half empty when we arrived. We were directed to a table in the window. The food was nice but we'd barely started our dosas when a waiter marched over and pointedly plonked our bill on the table. Shortly afterwards - while we were still only halfway through the food - he warned us we had to vacate our table within five minutes as they had a group of 30 booked in. We then got a two-minute warning and a one-minute warning. We were made to feel so unwelcome, it really made us very cross and spoiled our evening. A fellow customer who had just come in overheard what the waiter said to us, told him off and went to eat elsewhere because he was being so rude. No one was waiting to sit at our table at this point, by the way. When we left - and pointed out how poor his customer service had been - the waiter was incredibly defensive, barely apologised and said the group who needed our table had been booked for a month. Erm ok then. Awful.

Visited on a quiet Sunday evening and had a lovely meal. Unusual starters that I hadn't tried before and the Dosas are beautiful. Big, fresh, tasty and served with lovely chutneys. No idea why I haven't been here for so long, but I'll be back soon.

Visitamos Dosa express en carretera dos veces Copson recientemente después de un intervalo de cuatro años. Me había dejado una nota al propietario sobre el mal estado de la decoración y el mobiliario. Me alegra decir que ambos han mejorado. Mesas y sillas nuevas, nuevas placas, etc. Dosa era fresco, lleno de sabor y acompañados por un buen masala y chutney, todo parecía auténtico. Idlis había sido calentada en el microondas y fuimos seco rápidamente. Wada era inconsistente. No probamos platos no vegetarianos. El servicio era bueno y el personal muy servicial. En resumen, paso en la dirección correcta. Una mano de pintura le hacen la habitación fresca y luminosa. Por un bajo precio restaurante, bastante bueno.

For South Indian food, there isn't a better place to eat in Manchester. The Dosa's here are excellent, as you would expect, but the curries they also serve are really great too. The menu here is extensive and varied, the atmosphere is nice and quiet.

I find it quite difficult to find authentic Indian food in UK, as the spices are tempered to suit local tastes. However, Dosa Express is definitely a welcome exception. The Sambar had thee right type and level of spices, the idlis were tasty and soft, the Vada was tasty and not oily and the dosa was tasty and appropriately crisp. The chutneys were excellent too. The service was prompt and friendly. Thee place is excellent value for money.A must visit for anyone seeking authentic south Indian food in Manchester.

Wow. Food: What an establishment. Authentic, tasty and wonderfully spiced curries and beers all very reasonably priced. Service: all with a smile, couldn't do enough for us - special kudos to the young tanned man with an earring (and a slightly dirty shirt!!!).Can't recommend enough.

The most incredible restaurant ever and it tastes exactly like it does in India...even the tomato ketchup! This is what dining out should be like. The masala dosa, chicken lollipop and kottu chicken paratha I highly recommend!

Popped in early Friday evening for a couple of appetisers and Masala Dosas. I have eaten dosas in various restaurants but Dosa Express are the tops - thin ,crisp dosa and tasty filling. Will be back.

After having written a good review for Bundobust in the city centre, I thought I should write an even better one for Dosa Express as this is clearly the best Indian in Manchester for authentic street food. This is the place I compared bundobust to- and I would rather visit here by a mile. Large dosas, fantastic flavours and friendly and attentive staff. If only there was more seating.

A nice place where you can enjoy nice Indian food and South Indian cuisine... Very few such places in Manchester!!!The food is reasonably priced, they accept cash only.

Just had lunch here today. Nice South Indian food. No frills just good idlis and dosas. Parking isn't always easy but cost of food is very reasonable. £25 for 4 of us including a tip.10% discount for NHS staff.

Possibly the best Indian food I've ever had! We had the Manchurian gobi, masala dosa and a selection of curries - all of them were absolutely delicious. Great service and cheap drinks.

Had a fab meal. Asked waiter for recommendations and it was just divine. Would highly recommend this understated haven of deelishousness. £3.50 for a large glass of sav b. The cauliflower dosa was quite the nicest dish I've had in a long time xxx

Simply, it is superb! We ordered onion rava dosa, chapatti, chettinad chicken, chicken 65 and chicken biriyani; All dishes served in time, they are authentic and had great aroma...can't fault it. The service was great, the prices are reasonable, however the interior could have been bit better. Otherwise, if you want to enjoy an authentic South Indian recipie, this is the place to visit...highly recommend.

Mr Hamza and Rizwan are best people. We really love their excellent and authentic cuisine .The background music is v soothing and elegant.

We have been coming here for around 3 years at least. The food has been consistently good with reasonable prices. The one drawback had been the service which was often slow. However, this has improved tremendously and we always now have a lovely meal. It's a small place so would recommend booking. Great service from Hamza !!

I was at dosaexpress last night with my friends . we ordered for chapathi,chicken curry , idly and asked the waiter how much time it would take he replied but then his reply was very rude and abrupt. His name was something with humssa but not sure. He could have atleast replied kindly for answers, but he showed so much attitude which was so much insulting us. Even though the food was good the people in the front end delivery shows the face of the restaurant. I am in the same field so what ever chef and kitchen staffs put efforts to make the food good the waiters service would spoil the complete experience !! Few more days and gradually the name might go down because of the service.

Worth a visit once in a while...small place so booking required at peak times...Prices reasonable and they give student and nhs staff discounts....quick service and nice food.

No where in world I have seen South Indian restaurant service Sambhar like a spoon size and when you ask for extra Sambhar they charging you £2.49 for 50ml of Sambhar... this was my last visit to them and will make sure that on one from my group visit them as the behaviour of the counter staff is not acceptable.. also taking too long for orders and food... dosa is good but other factors are stopping me to go there..
