Kobeda Place in Manchester

Everything was very good, about 41 pounds, we were super full and we brought the fish home since we couldn't handle everything, we also wanted the spicy sauce they gave us because we didn't try it but they told us not to use the sauce...

A good Afghani restaurant with some good kabab and lamb dishes. Qabli polao and Sultani Dish are some of the best dishes. Food tastes good! Price is decent, neither reasonable nor expensive! The atmosphere and the the interior could have been better!

We ordered from this place while visiting Manchester and absolutely loved it. We ordered kabuli pulao, hummus, kobeda kebab and lamb tikka, grilled half chicken with rice. Everthing tastes amazing. The meat succulent and tasty. Highly recommend

Definitely one of the best kebab establishments in the area in which there is a great deal of competition. The good thing about this place is that there is good food consistency with the quality and flavours. Well worth trying, enjoy.

Lovely Kobeda kebabs and Afghan Palu Rice

From the outside this place looks much the same as the others as there are so many on the same road. But my goodness, this food was out of this of this world and definitely deserves a 5* review. It was prepared fresh, even the salad accompaniment was crispy and delicious. It stayed wrapped and hot until we got back to our hotel 10 minutes later. Great taste, amazing value for money and the best kebab I’ve ever had!! So much food and I didn’t want it to end. Lovely guys working there too. Well worth a visit and thank you so much for the taste sensation ❤️❤️

Food is always on point, mixed kobeda with rice. Massive portions and excellent service. Best qubily pilau in Manchester and Always friendly. Pricing is not what it used to be but I guess times have changed. Would happily reccomend to anyone 10/10

Kobeda was not great and my food was packaged together with the salad which ended up pouring into the bag.

I had Kabuli polaw yesterday which was horrible. rice had a bit smell to it won't recommend it to no1 regular afghan cuisine would been better thought I will try this very poor

Second visit. It’s an absolute must if you go to manny. Kobeda was absolutely bussin and super tender. They do this by flash-bbqing in the intense tandoor over. One of the best kebabs I’ve had. Naan is top notch - fresh out the tandoor and crispy soaking up kobeda juices if you so wish. Kubali Pulao is a must as well. Hidden under those perfectly season individual grains of rice is a big hunk of lamb shank. Meat is falling off and collagen soft at the joint. Topped with caramelised carrot and some raisins and this is a well balanced dish. Great bbq chicken as well (I forget the name). Hummus is pretty good but the star accompaniment is that tomato-mint chutney. Will give you a capsaicin-induced endorphin rush. Afghani food needs more attention.

Absolutely disgusted. Around £38 for 2 meals (2 specials and 2 cans of coke with one portion of chips) Food was served quickly but was average. The chicken was extremely dry and cut very finely thus causing it to become tougher. They didnt come out of the kitchen however, i had paid for extra grilled onions. They didnt arrive. Asked for them, was told they were with the food. I was like urmmm no. There is quater of an onion on each naan bread. Thats not the extra i paid for. He said ok ill send them over. Food went cold within 4-5minutes as the door is constantly kept open. Asked one of the servers to come over. He ignored me and walked to and fro to other tables about 8-10 times. Finally came over and said, yeah what do you want. I asked him to bring boxes to pack up the food after 10mins as it was not edible due to being stone cold Brought boxes. Said another 50p per MINISCULE tub of sauce. 😂 To top things off, found a hair on the plate the food was served in AFTER we had packed the food up. Yes, we left it all there. Theres loads of kobeda shops on Wilmslow Road. Avoid this one and find another guys!

Lamb shish tasted awful and had a mushy texture - definitely expired and herbs added to hide off flavour. Staff also rude and very unwelcoming.

I have been to this place more than 2 times now. I love the Kabuli Pulav here. I have tried fish fry, Kobeda etc. This place serve best quality delicious dishes. I would like recommend the place for everyone who like try these dishes. Added the menu in photos. It is not very crowded, but indoor tables are get filled in. They have outdoor seating. They have got the toilets inside. Available kids chairs. Enjoy the place with your friends and family. Parking nearby can be an issue. But the place worth it. They got everything within a reasonable price range.

Best kobeda that I have ever had

Absolutely disgraceful ! I went there 1st time and It was Iftari time, me and my friend was waiting for food. And suddenly one guy approached to us and saying why we are seating inside at this big table instead of small one which is outside and weather is sooo freaking cold 🥶. I told him when I was here there was no one except one family was having their food and the rest tables were empty. Suddenly few customers came and you are saying us to go outside. However I told him “You can’t speak to your customer like this. And I am not going to come here anymore.” He said ok don’t come no problem. And we went outside and food came after 34 mins of iftar, where other got their food already. I believe he did this intentionally. 🙄 No problem almighty is watching everything and he misbehaved with us even in iftari time 🕰️ what a shame of that kind of Muslim.

Mixed menu of street food, kebabs ect. Food was OK.fresh, hot and tasty and well clay oven cooked. Just popped in for quick lunch, enjoyed it. Friendly staff. Toilet facilities not the best.

Ordered a chicken and kobeda mix on naan. The chicken was nice, but the Kobeda was disgusting. Big, oily, and rubbery and smelling. Off putting so both me and my friend put the kobeda we each Ordered to a side. We let the member of staff know that the chicken was nice but the kobeda, nowhere near nice. He could see what we both left on our plates. For £12.99 each I'd rather have had the chicken by itself.

The kababs are yummy but Afghan cuisine gives kababs too and your restaurant to really next to each other they sever the food there too there prices are too high then your do not. Make your place more expensive or people will stop eating at your place because the prices are too high because of inflation

Literally the best kebab I've ever had. Anywhere. Absolutely biblical. If ever you are in Manchester, head to Rusholme & chow down. You will not be disappointed.

Visited here after a couple of years. Service is poor, staff are more engaged in personal conversation than focussing on customers. Prices have gone up exponentially, and for what you pay you can get a better value meal locally. Food was also not great, very oily kebabs. Based on the prices the owners should invest more in the premises to improve the experience.

The kobeda and nan were much bigger than usual. Kobeda was very salty. My view is that the meat was off, so they added loads of salt. They served larger than normal portion to get rid of the old meat. Their chips have always been on point.

Order Double Kobeda on nan, when received the nan was flooded with green liquid 🤢. Quality of meat used was poor Ordered kabuli pulao with chicken but received near boiled rice (not enough stock) The Kobeda sauce was too sour and the other chilly sauce had too much garlic... still burping it out

First time trying Naan and lamb chops/chicken kebab and it was a hit! I didn’t not expect it to taste that good!

One of the finest kobedas up north.clean and tidy restaurant.food is well presented and they have clean toilets.parking can be difficult outside but there's a car park over the road that you need to enter your reg and isn't expensive at all.

We visited Kobeda Place for the first time post COVID. Initial surprise was the prices, which seemed to have increased by over 50%. The décor had not changed since we last visited, however the customer service seemed to have gone downhill. The staff seem unusually angry – you don’t even get a smile from these guys. The food itself was fine, however for the money you pay, and considering your on Wilmslow road – go elsewhere next time, we know we will be.

Too oily and greasy kobedah over priced food. Felt sick after eating it.. Mince was poor quality with fat chunks. Definitely not for me and my family.. Bad experience. Portion size was good but no taste sauce was OK salad was OK.. Place was not very clean. I have had kebabs from other places and can feel the quality of the mince was extremely poor. I would not recommend it to anyone.

To write an honest review, I take into consideration that this is a difficult time both for customers as well as businesses. Besides other item, we ordered fries. Waiter brought a little fries on small flat plate. I forgot to take a picture of the portion. Nan was smaller compared to we had in the past. Kobeda kebab looked to have been coloured by paprika to disguise the mixing of chicken mince in lamb. Lamb pieces in Kabali Pilau were smaller. On paying the bill, I asked to speak to manager. I was told there is none. I complained about the quantity of fries. The guy at the counter said I do not accept what you are saying and that my attitude is not good. When a shop keeper do not use weight and measure and do not accept that a customer is always right either. How to decide about an issue. They always ask to pay before your order is placed. The purpose is to eat whatever they give you and go. The man on the counter became very crossed when I asked him to do some fear of God. This was the only thing I could have asked him when he dismissed everything else.

My friend and I got a Kebab from here for lunch. She doesn't like eating in so we got it to take out and ate in the car. The place seemed like a good place to eat at and the server was friendly. When we got our food, we didn’t realise they pack it like "Make your own Kebab" style. We had to assemble it ourselves and they only gave one tray of salad for 2 Kebabs. That was kind of annoying. The Kebab itself tasted really nice though and the naan was soft.

The food was truly fantastic !! The flavours were amazing, very well cooked and The price was reasonable . Highly recommended

Not a lot original apart from the Kobeda, which was succulent with a nice piece of hot Naan. We ordered lamb chops, these chops had Tandoori chicken seasoning (from a packet). They were burnt and chewy. Then we ordered chicken with qabli Palau. The Palau was ok, the chicken was dry and chewy and was tandoori, not original Afghan. Will not be coming again, unless I want a Kobeda.

Whenever I am visiting Manchester and I fancy a quick bite to eat or food to take home then Kobeda Place is the choice. Tasty fresh kobeda, freshly made nan with the tasty salad and sauces is a great combination.

Portion size are massive. Only tried the chicken tikka but was tasty.

I had grilled/barbecued lamb chops and salad served on flatbread/paratha with two bowls of dips and a can of soft drink. ( cost £11 ). The place was basic and clean. I enjoyed my food. There was a small but clean toilet with hand washing facility.

The best kobeda in rushholme. Granted it may cost a little more but you pay for quality. Very clean unlike the majority of places. 👍
