Fantastic service, very nice, friendly and attentive. Gorgeous decor, very traditional but with modern, comfortable seating and all pristine, immaculate etc. Food was phenomenal, blew us away immensely. Absolutely incredible, flavoursome, fresh, the best value we've seen and extremely enjoyable, delicious and satisfying. I definitely want to visit here again and try more of the menu. The dosa was huge and Absolutely tasty, perfectly cooked and flavoured. Well worth the money. Thanks very much.

Great food! Great service! Food was authentic and the tea to die for. Also, super accommodating; my wife’s vegan and they especially made vegan chai for her (even though it’s not on their menu) just so that she can enjoy with us. Mathesh (host) was a top bloke.

We went as a family and had a lovely time! They do not have any vegan hot drink options on the menu yet when we provided the server, Mathesh with our oat milk, they prepared the vegan masala chai for my husband and I. The rest of the family enjoyed very tasty coffee! The food was delicious and Mathesh was great at recommending the best dish appropriate for each one of us. The Sharma family enjoyed visiting dosa wala and it was a delight to be served by Mathesh!

This is a family friendly restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere. The service is always amiable and the food is delicious. I have enjoyed the food at Dosa Wala and Akshaya numerous times, with my family and a community group of more than 50 people. At each occasion they are able to customise the food to satisfy individual taste palate. The price is always reasonable too. I will always recommend anyone to go and enjoy the food at Dosa Wala or at Akshaya. The owner is hospitable and accomodating. Hence, the atmosphere is always lovely to be in. The food is of excellent quality and tastes like home. Must-try dishes are Medhu Vada and Biryani.

had the poori masala and masala chai. poori masala comes with masala potatoes and coconut chutney. it was REALLY good, hard to find in England as well. masala chai was really good, heavy on the cardamom if you like that. overall 10/10

i am just keep on waiting at restraunt as it says on just eat its ready for collection and actually it is not ready to collect when i reached there

I was really disappointed with my order. The food arrived soggy, cold, and lacked flavor. It wasn’t tasty at all and felt poorly prepared. Definitely not the quality I was expecting. Would not recommend.

Briyani's rice was dry. it became crispy.

The dining experience was very good. Chicken kotthu paratha, chilli fried idly were very good. Hospitality was very welcoming too. Would like to visit again when, in Nottingham and craving for authentic south indian cuisine.

Order was never delivered. Had to collect it after no response 2h later

All businesses are struggling but these guys are making the effort to keep their standards high as possible. Well done 👍🏻

I'm changing my opinion, almost a year later. Yes. I've been here again. I was pleasantly surprised too. Very friendly service and good food. It's worth, again, spending my money here.

One item missing, one exploded over everything else. Absolutely no effort to fix the error. Edit: tried them again a year later. Waited over an hour then they cancelled our order. Absolutely awful, totally avoid.

Packing should and could be far far better

we ordered 3 mango lassi only one came. the delivery driver went Ladbroke crescent 1st to deliver then ours hence our food was cold

Ordered a masala dosa take away, was greeted by a very friendly staff member. The dosa itself was extremely reasonably priced, well seasoned and authentic - would definitely recommend.

Great service. I honestly always crave the food from dosa wala and especially in the case travelling down from Scotland (where I live) to Nottingham becomes an added bonus. Love the medhu wada, Mysore Masala Dosa, Podi Idli, Plain Dosa and vegetable Kothu Porotta (that’s our usual). They have also reduced the prices of some of the items on the menu, do give it a try!

Unexpectedly good food. The place was empty and the decor is not great - but the food was delicious.

the chettinad lamb curry was spectacular. ine of the best lamb curries I've ever eaten I think! reminded me of beef rendang.

The food that was packaged was poorly packaged, the packaging had melted through in to the food, what I received was a soggy cold mess and worse of all just eat refuses to deal with and says they cannot give a refund because that is apparently not their problem.

Service and food were not good as it was before. Used to visit this place earlier and had a better and quick service. Food quality and taste has degraded. Took 40 minutes to get starters. Single staff member serving customers and managing the till.

Very bad service. Food dishes were either lack of salt or over salty., with below average taste. The filter coffee was not good. Pooris were very oily Restroom/Loo was not clean. Car Parking was a problem too

The parcel was very badly done and because of that the packing the paper back is completely soaked and torn apparat. All the food fell down and created lot of mess.

I ordered a vegetable biriyani, it was of very poor taste and really disappointed but the mango lassi I ordered was a good one.

3rd May 2024 We oreded food from Dosawala. Don't go by the name... you get more tasty dishes than just dosas. Every week a different restaurant to order.... is our motto. We orderd Chicken Noodles, Chicken Lolipop, Chicken Chilli, Paneer Chilli and Chicken Biryani. Good tasty food at a resasonable price. Arruved on time, no delays, food was tasty... that that normal biryani was delivered in place of tikka biryani that we orded.

Have had takeaway from here many times but this time round the quality of the items was poor. The lamb biriyani had just 3 pieces of lamb in it. The fish piece was not properly cleaned.

1) We had an item missing 2) the poori is fully burned 3) the gravy o giving for poori is rotten and spoiled

Worst experience ever had in dosa wala. Make us waited for more than 40min after took order, without served single food. At last we left without had anything. Very bad hospitality and reception lady was very unprofessional and don't know how to manage customer. Just clearing the online orders and keep waiting the customer.

There is no option to rate it Zero, that's why had to rate it 1 star, Dosa is pathetic like paper, damn thin and service took 30 mins after we ordered..I was about to pass-out coz of hunger..sambhar quantity given was so less that even after asking for some extra sambhar, we had to eat half of the dosa without sambar...

This place is a hit or miss. Eating in the restaurant is lovely, the food is good, relatively authentic and good portion sizes. However, the prices are not appropriate. Some items are too expensive for what it is. Ordering delivery is not a good idea. The food lowers in quality 20x when ordering delivery. I have eaten the Kottu Roti and Chettinad Curry in the restaurant and from delivery, both were good in the restaurant but very bad from delivery. The taste is bland, almost like they microwave it for delivery. This place has a lot of potential but I just wish they had more passion to make their food consistent and excellent every time.

We had to wait for 1.hour and 25 mins for take away order . They making sure ready on deliveries orders not people who ordering at the restaurant. I would not recommend it to anyone. Super disappointed

Average … dosa became soggy by the time it reached me … I think they should pack the dosa and the potato filling separately next time to avoid it becoming soggy …. The vada did not taste freshly made … too hard

Excellent food at very affordable price

Tried plain paper dosa and masala dosa both were yummy. Sambar and the chutneys e.g. coconut were tasty. Spices were medium aka spot on for me. I usually eat Pakistani and North Indian food but this was a pleasant change for my taste buds.

Authentic South Indian cuisine. Especially the food served in Yorkshire YTF Pongal event was delicious.

Ordered delivery. Food was no longer hot but still at an acceptable temperature. Sent meat samosa and veg samosa in the same portion ... makes me think they cook meat and veg in the same fryer. The rest of the order was nice but I won't be going back.

The driver didn't start maps and was trying to locate the house which doesn't make any sense and wasted our time.

The place is cosy enough for a nice family dinner. The food served is of good taste and the service in spite of being busy is pretty fair! I wish there were high chairs included to accommodate toddlers/babies and increase in staff that could mean faster service for customers!!! But all and all good experience!

The food was okay. Not very extraordinary but quite homely. We liked the Mini idlies. The Kothu parrota was also good but the gravy was missing. They just served it with curd.

Very disappointing. I almost order food here every week. They keep sending chicken gravy + eggs in place of proper egg curry. Called the restaurant before to report this or request egg curry that is meat free. Never going to buy anything from here!!!!!!!

Food is always nice from Dosawala.. flavour ful...but Cauliflower manchurian and vegetable noodles were too oily...too much oil....please do not add so much oil. Egg fried rice was nice. I would recommend Dosa wala. I hope the restaurant looks into the customer reviews and takes appropriate action to improve. Thanks.

Bad chef, asked for chicken chettinaad gave me tomato chicken with no salt, I doubt chef knows cooking, they are just managing with Tesco ready meals, asked for refund they seem reluctant, bad experience money wasted don’t expect refunds

I enjoyed the food very much. Gobi manchurian and chilli chicken were so flavourful and delicious.. loved it. My only feedback would be to use less oil in those dishes. I hope this will be taken care of in the future. Otherwise, food is always tasty from Dosa Wala. I would highly recommend it. Thanks.

Food is always nice and delicious. Masala fries were really tasty. However, the samosa wasn't. I would request if real handmade fresh samosa can be served instead of these tiny, not so tasty samosas. Otherwise, food is always good from Dosa Wala. There are always some areas of improvement and I am sure you will incorporate the feedback from customers. Best wishes.

Went for the first time today with friends when we had a south indian food craving - it was amazing. The food was clearly freshly prepared, the sambhar was lovely and warm and came with free refills (for chutneys, too). Such homely, comforting food and reasonably priced, and the waiters were very friendly and accommodating. My favourite dosa place in notts for sure. I will definitely be back :-)

I love the food here and the staff are lovely. The dosas & chutneys are definitely the best in Nottingham - I have tried all the other dosa places & this is the best. My kids love the idly and the nutella dosa. There are so many other good dishes on the menu too - so ho with friends so you can share a feast & try some if the fab curries too.

The one delivered to me was not my order from dosawala, wrongly delivered some other order from delicious favourite chicken. Need urgent assistance
