Dosa Express in Harrow

Food here were delicious. We really enjoyed the real indian food.

We went to Dhosa Express in Kingsbury yesterday evening around 5pm. We weren't allowed to sit on the table or area we wanted to despite them having no reservations. The tables for 4 people were far too small. The waiters acted like they didn't want to work. There was no smile or conversation. Food was good but portions were small especially the Chilli Paneer and cauliflower Manchurian. The service and food was extremely slow and we had to ask for our ordered items many times. We had to ask for cutlery, plates, straws etc .... Its ok for a lunch thing but certainly not dinner. Also make sure you go in with lots of time and patience! We actually felt unwelcomed and the waiters weren't attentive at all. They really need to buckle up and learn what customs service is! First of all they need to learn to smile!

Visited this restaurant for the first time and service was appalling. No one to seat us waited 10mins then waiting for 15/20mins be provided a menu. Which we had to request 2/3 times. The embarrassing thing is only 6 tables were full and the restaurant was not busy! Ordered drinks only to be told they don't have Sprite/7up or Fanta... oh and no ice!! Starters ok mediocre. Ordered rava dosa and got a burnt dosa which had to send back. The fact they tried to hide the rest of the dosa completely burnt on the bottom of the plate is beyond me! No apologies for the burnt food being served! Got another portion and that was so thick and doughy no flavour the sambar and chutneys absolutely poor! Would not go back and would defo not recommend!

We ordered Gotala dosa, but it hadn’t any kind of taste, it was sweet, even without salt, instead of Indian spicy taste, and even dosa’s thickness was not too much

Very worst i ever seen in my life. Sambhar pots are not properly lid.Bag was full massed with sambhar.If you can’t handle the delivery orders turn off your delivery tablets. For more money don’t dissatisfied your customers please. Please do proper packaging double check for delivery and take out orders.

Recently we order 7 dosa from dosa express kingsbury And we receive this stuff no proper packaging it was messed. The sambhar pots were not close properly the bag was full messed with food the condition of food is like we are not able to eat now We pay for proper food

Kingsbury branch, We ordered 7 dosas, & other food worth 61£ & it was in hilarious condition we have guests dinner & it was really very disappointing & their staff was very rude on phone & showing attitude & threatening to one of my family members..half sambhar pods were open & spread it everywhere..

We ordered 7 dosa they give us like rubbish they don’t know how to properly packed all the items all the dhosas we can’t eat because all the sambhar is massed in the bag so it’s our horrible experience…

We had an amazing experience at Dosa Express. The service provided by Tarak was outstanding! He was wise, attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly welcome. His words and care added a special touch to our dining experience. Highly recommend visiting and experiencing his excellent hospitality.

Service and food not good. Waste of money.

I recently dined at Dosa Express, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The food lacked flavor and was quite unappetizing, which was disappointing given the high expectations I had. Additionally, the service left much to be desired. While I appreciate that they didn’t charge us, the staff’s demeanor and responses were unprofessional and unexpected. Good service is just as important as quality food, and in this case, both fell short. I hope they can improve their offerings and service in the future, as I would love to see them succeed. However, I cannot recommend Dosa Express based on this experience.

For a quick dosa at reasonable price however customer service is not great - make your customers feel welcome and if there is a time limit for sitting please let us know in advance . It went exactly that busy . Toilets were not that great and unisex which is not the problem if they are kept clean. I guess a good venue for reasonable food prices and a choice for people on a budget .

Very tasty food at very reasonable prices. We went at lunch time as a large group and ordered multiple dishes to share, every dish was good. Unhurried service was relaxing.

Dosa was nice and mini idlis were good. But fried podi idlis were oily and not the quality I expected.

The quality of food has improved, really enjoyed our lunch today. The constant music is a bit annoying and we were served today by a very arrogant young man, pity about it as they have lost a very big booking from me and his arrogance might also make them lose my loyalty and custom.

The food is not bad but the service is very bad. Waiters at the restaurant are not trained or maybe paid very less. They don’t look happy at all. This is the third time they messed with my order.

When I was entered everything looks perfect but after when I order for everyone and then When I received Really Really surprised with taste its like totally rubbish and when we talk with colleagues we received nonsense.

Some of the food was ok, like the chilli garlic mogo, and sweetcorn soup was very nice, but most of what we wanted to order (party of 4) was either told to be in stock and when asked again was out of stock or was just told straight that there was minimal availability for orders. Service was poor, some of the waiters would look at us when we were asking about our orders as it was over 30 + mins of waiting and they would not even acknowledge us. Very poor service. Would not recommend

Today I was there, I had both a good and bad Experience. Let me share Good things first, I liked the food and it was so good that I ended up having 4 dosas. Special thanks to the chef for making the best dosa. Although, I had a bad experience with the staff. One of your staff members treated me very rudely when I just entered and asked about that special offer going on. I understand that you guys were very busy but you should serve every customer with politeness. Other than this, Everything was so good. I will recommend this restaurant to everyone for dosa. Thanks.

Extremely poor experience I had today in this restaurant. The waiters didn't even care about me as I was dining single. They did not even bother to come to my table to take order despite I waited patiently for 15 min. People who came after me were served as they were more in number. So their agenda is to cater for customers who give them more business. Having no attention, I walked out after 25 min no one bothered to ask me either. Extremely poor service. Avoid this restaurant at all cost. They don't know how to run a restaurant and I feel they will lose lots of customers soon if they continue to do so. If this restaurant was good, I would have brought dozens of my friends and family members here in the future, but unfortunately they lost the business. I will also share this bad experience with my friends. Hope the restaurant management realises NOT to ignore customers even if they are coming alone! All customers are equally important!

Not at all professional services. No manners to talk with customer. Asked for chatni sambhar for more than three times, even more than half dosa was completed but no service. Staff seems arrogant and thinks they dont really care about customer (Specially serving guy with beard). Food is good but such customer services are not at all acceptable. Will never visit again !!! Dosa is available at more places with great customer service ...

Masala dosa full of raw onions and Sambhar full of Garam masala. Medu vada full of spice(black murry) This is not an authentic South Indian restaurant. We were going to Shri Lalitha at Kenton and saw Dosa express on the way and we thought let’s try different and regreated.

Very poor service, tasteless. Got main course first and starter later, got served Bhajia in place of baby corn and was told this is baby corn. This raises questions on knowledge of chef and waiter. If you have extra money and struggling to spend visit there and experience it.

Today the packaging was done great. New bag promoting the name has been introduced. cheese dosa was freshly made. The taste is always great so no doubt anyone will enjoy.

Service is terrible as I think they are understaffed. Two people serving, taking orders and at the same time and collect payments. They generally do not answer phones. Better to take away from here and warm up the food at home. Cannot recommend them very highly. Very average.

The delivery was abysmal, arriving much later than ETA, which led to my food being stone-cold by the time it finally got to me. To make matters worse, the items were soggy and practically inedible, completely ruining the meal. It was clear that the delay in delivery had a direct impact on the quality of the food. Adding to the frustration, the driver had trouble locating my address, which further delayed the delivery. This entire experience has left me very dissatisfied.

Tasty food served in a clean & busy environment by staff who seem to take their time in serving customers. 5.8.23 Needs to improve ventilation in the dining area to avoid cooking smells sticking to diners clothes & to provide bags for takeaway food! 11.8.23 Tasty food & helpful staff, however needs to ensure that kitchen staff are careful to ensure that foreign objects are not found in the food served to diners! 19.9.23 Tasty vegetable & mushrooms 🍄 biriyani as was the spicy schezuan noodles 🍜. 23.3.23 Tasty aloo gobi paratha & sides, chole batura & stir-fried aubergine 🍆. 17.11.23 Tasty schezuan noodles & chole Puri but for a restaurant the toilets 🚻 are dirty with no hand washing liquid & needs cleaning up! Amex card's are not accepted. 28.11.23 Tasty stir fried aubergine & Chole Puri with friendly staff. 16.12.23 Tasty food , however new staff seem to get customers orders mixed up or customers don't get service after long waits , start shouting & then get up & leave! 11.2.24 Helpful staff but it seems that certain items from the extensive menu are not often available! 12.2.24 Tasty food served by friendly staff. However they need to keep the toilets clean & smelling fresh with supply of hand -wash available! 19.5.24 Tasty food served by friendly staff. However , the restaurant can be cold. 22.6.24 Tasty food of spicy schezuan dosa, stir fried aubergine & spicy vegetable noodles served by friendly & helpful staff in a clean environment. The toilets need to be kept clean at all times. 29.6.24 Tasty food of Chole Puri & spicy vegetable noodles 🍜. 20.7.24 Tasty thali , stir fried aubergine 🍆 , halwa & faluda served by friendly staff in a clean environment. However some customers seem to leave without paying their bill! 31.7.24 Tasty food served by friendly & accomodating staff. However , broken 🚻 toilet doors 🚪 need to be repaired & the toilet 🚻 kept clean. 4.8.24 Tasty spicy schezuan noodles & gobi manchurian which could have been softer served by friendly staff in clean surroundings & a vibrant atmosphere. 6.8.24 Tasty Punjabi samosas & Pau Bhaji served in a clean environment with apparently someone on the way to repair the broken toilet door!

Must visit!!! Amazing service by Mr. Shrey, his hospitality made us nostalgic of Jamnagar and Vadodara service. The music was soooo good, my husband loved every moment of it and no doubt so did I. I don't mind traveling 1 hour every weekend for this taste, ambience and service.

Was hoping to have good food but everything is below the standards. They have vast verity of dosa but not as good you get it in any South Indian restaurant. Meduvada there was no salt at all. They are stretched out due to Lake of staffs. White coconut chutney was one of the worst no any tadka looked like they ran out of it and quickly made it. Service very very poor. There were only 3 staff members available to take orders and serve food along with take payments. No any cashier or any manager present. Staff not trained in customer service. One of them was behaving he is working in india not in UK. Very slow service they took around 45 minutes to serve us initial starters than 30 minutes to serve 1 additional dosa order. Poor communication between staff and kitchen. Atmosphere is not good as well. Overall lots of improvements needed. Particularly staff needs lots of training along with lots of improvements needed to increase food quality and taste. To be honest they don't care about customers service.

The food is decent. Options are many. Plenty seating. Staff try their best despite rude behaviour from some customers. Customer toilets are unusable if you value hygiene.

Service was terrible. We ordered three masala Dosas and all three came with a different even though they should have been the same one had too many chilies in it, which they shouldn't have been in first place

The food was tasty however the service could have been better. They’re quite slow in general. The prices and portions are good. It was my first time going there but I will defo visit again.

I visit after so long time and got very bad experience. Uttapama was not fresh at all . And sambhar was smelling too. Although menduvada was crispy from out side but lit bit uncooked from inside.

The service from ravi and shrey was excellent.

Very rude staff and the way he behaved was not expected. We went by 9:50 and closing time was 10, but still he told us to do food order in quick way, he didn’t allowed time to look at menu. We were group of 10 people and 3 of them were British people. So, for me it was very embarrassing moment in front of my colleagues. Never recommended again.

At first time when we visited with our guest it's 9 and they said it's closing time so please give order in one time we gave and they just put whole the order together so it's became cold , we made a complaint to the manager and he accepted that it's their fault. Now today they served wrong order and as usual it's closing at 9 they all are in hurry and gave unprofessional answer and service and the food test is not even 3 start just because " CLOSING".

Food waz ok. Ordered kesari for take out. It was £3.75. But portion was smaller than shown on ads on in house screen and lot less than quarter you get from other south indian restaurants

I actually like the food being served in this south india restaurant. It's fresh, tasty and the portion size / price parity is fair. The food quality is above average and is definitely 4 stars. If you want to eat fresh cooked food, this is a great place to eat. The restaurant does need to improve it's standards when it comes to physical menus and customer service. Here are some improvement points: 1. The paper menus are printed to a home printed standard and are falling apart, don't serve customers with menus that are falling apart like old magazines. Laminate the menus if budgets are tight, at least they can be cleaned and kept to a quality standard. 2. When serving dishes, don't stack metal plates directly on top of each other, when the bottom of another metal plate is sitting directly on top of another dish. I appreciate that kitchen surfaces maybe clean, but no one wants a plate that's sitting on a worktop being placed directly on top of a freshly cooked dosa. 3. Keep aside some separate sambar and chutneys that can be eaten by minors and children. Alot of south indian restaurants do not have any child friendly dishes. Children do not want to eat extra spicy food. 4. Add the canned soft drinks to your menu, you serve canned soft drinks, however no one knows this. It's only observed when you pay for your meal, that soft drinks are available to order with the meal. 5. Regularly clean the metal stainless steel water dispensing jugs, they have lime scale from the hard water on the surfaces. They are not dirty, just need remove the lime scale. This isn't a bad restaurant. In fact I've been there twice and the food has been decent, just a few criticisms as listed above.

Food was excellent.. everything came out relatively quickly and no mess ups with a large order for 10 people. Unfortunately there was zero atmosphere... screens weren't playing anything nor any music in the restaurant. Service was a bit slow to begin with when we entered but it soon picked up for the better. Will definitely recommend to others and will be back for sure 👍
