Friendly staff and delicious food. I had the large cod - it was huge and so tasty!! Also, hands down the best curry sauce I’ve ever had.. ever. We will 100% be back!

We are staying nearby for a couple nights away and came across this place. So glad we did as definitely one of the best fish & Chips shops I’ve ever been to by far. Soon as we walked in the young lad serving was very friendly and efficient. Great value for money with generous portion sizes. Batter on the fish was very light and tasty. Would highly recommend and we will be visiting next time we are in the area. 10/10

I purchased a large chicken doner kebab today they asked if I wanted chips with it which is a scam as when I got home discovered 90% of the punnet was full of chips £8 for a couple of spuds & a tiny bit of chicken NEVER AGAIN!

Top quality gluten free chippy. You never get them as good as this! All the staff were super knowledgeable and clearly understood food safety which is important especially from a coeliacs point of view. Can’t wait to go back.

Delicious piping hot fish and chips! We picked them up and ate them by the river Severn. We’ll be back!

We ordered fish and chips for our dinner on Friday night. Donnellys now deliver which is excellent. It arrived so quick we hadn’t even started to warm our plates! I have to say I think it was the best fish and chips we have had.

We had a stay at a local self catering destination. We wanted to try something within walking distance, and headed here. I have to say in 40+ years of buying Cod and Chips, this is a contender for the best bit of cod i have ever had. I dont know if there were herbs in the batter, or whether the fish was particularly fresh, but it was incredible. Five Star!

First time trying and thoroughly enjoyed the cod and chips. Really good portion sizes. Love the fact you get 3 options of curry sauce being chip shop, chinese and Irish. The Irish curry sauce tasted amazing. The only thing which would’ve given it 5 stars was if the batter on the fish was crispier. Other than that, a really good fish and chips!

Had a very busy day at work and none of us were able to get out to collect lunch. Donnelly delivered to our work place in super quick time, lovely hot food, the Irish curry sauce is amazing- a must try if you haven’t already!!

I was amazed at the quality of food provided at this place, you could tell the fish was fresh, non-greasy which is always important, dont want to just taste oil, and the chips were perfectly cooked. Got food for the kids too and the chomped it down. Would definitely recommend this chippy. Keep up the great work.

Popped in for F&Cs after reading some good reviews. It was a break from going to my usual haunt - the Bull Ring in St Johns. I had to order twice - the first being ignored while the staff chatted amongst themselves and they were shirty with me when I ordered again (when I opened it later I saw they’d got it wrong too!). Ok, so mistakes happen but I have to say that the chips were really too greasy and the batter around the haddock didn’t taste right. This wasn’t quite refuse worthy but it was bloody disappointing. I know everyone has their own favourites and that it all becomes a bit tribal in the world of F&Cs but I really can’t see much to be proud of here. Regular customers are probably used to getting what they’re given - and that’s true here I think. To my mind Donnelly’s is just not as good as others and I probably wouldn’t go back. In all good conscience I wouldn’t recommend this shop.

called in at lunchtime a couple of days ago, wanted some potato fritters but they only had one which was pre-ordered! I opted for a cone of chips, expensive at £1.60 and absolutely foul tasting, barely warm and tasted like they were reheated from the night before, yuk, threw 95% of them away, I won't be visiting again!

Friday Night Tea, Called in for tea after shopping, Staff friendly, Wide variety of food. Really busy, Dishes to recommend - Cheese Burger, Kebab, Sausage, Chips are really nice - Curry Sauce just awesome. Good value for money.

Ultimate combi for fish and chips with customers service. Donnelly's Fish and Chip bar was found to be a very friendly place to order fish and chip. With decent size portions and a must try 'Irish' curry sauce. Prices were reasonable and quick service, with the option to eat in or take away. Well recommended and would use again.

We use this chippy regularly, and we’ve never been disappointed, The staff are all lovely and don’t get enough credit for their hard work! The food is cooked fresh, the portion sizes are generous and we are so lucky that it’s so close to us. My parents travel from the other side of Worcester because it’s the best! Thank you all xxx

my brother went in yesterday dinner at 1:45 and asked for two lots of scampi and chips and was told they wasnt cooking anymore dispite open till 2pm....surly if your open till 2 you should be serving what the customer wants till 2.. it made things worse when we are regular customers... the service has gone downhill big time which is unfortunate as it was a real good chippy once.

Donnellys recently catered for our wedding and We are so impressed I wanted share!! The customer service we received was outstanding from start to finish, the owners were so helpful, supportive and made the whole thing hassle free! We were even invited to their shop to sample the food and decide on our choices for guests. All 140 of our guests were so complimentary about how good the food was, it was delivered on time, fresh and piping hot!! We cant thank and compliment Donnellys enough for their exceptional service, they even went the extra mile to order chip shop style sauces and vinegar for our guests to have the ultimate chip shop experience at a relaxed themed wedding Thank you so much Donnellys

very good chippy, just what I needed great to sit down,no toilets in shop.All food looks great in the shop, good portions. When in this area again I will be back. For fish and chips.

My wife & myself had intended taking a bus to Upton to celebrate our 16th anniversary with a pub lunch. Due to cutbacks in the bus service, decided agin it. She suggested I go to this shop to get us a lunchtime meal. It was great - we went for large cod, large chips, large curry sauce, a fishcake & saveloy. The portion were generous, they lasted us for the evening meal as well. It took longer to pull out onto the road returning home than it did to serve me!

This is a bit far for us, being on the other side of the river, but worth the trip because this is the best chippy I have found in Worcester. We had cod, chips and curry sauce, the cod was really nice, white and fluffy, nice thin crispy batter, the chips were good, no one makes really good crispy chips (like you often find at the seaside) but these were not far off.

Chips always cooked fresh. Good portion size and reasonable price. Always busy so that's also a good sign.

I have been coming here for years and tonight I had the smallest portion of chips ever and I am still hungry, there was also a tariff increase this week and not value for money at all. Will be going somewhere else from now on.

Having moved into our new house that day we were both too tired to cook so thought we would give it ago. What a mistake! On the positive side the portion sizes were good and wrapped up in paper, no plastic bags here. We both had a large cod and shared a large chips. For my part both the fish and chips were greasy and half the fish batter stayed stuck to the paper as well as many of the soggy chips. Once the remaining batter was removed the fish itself was excellent fresh and nicely cooked. We will not be returning anytime soon.

Always have great food here. Arrived at 9.30pm after travelling back from hospital visiting and still had good fish n chips. I would recommend this chippy

I got told the fish chip was very good so as I had to go over this area we called in the service was very good the fish chips and the scampi very good we had small this is a good size the large was a fantastic size they do other food as well

This is probably the finest piece of cod in better in Worcester. This fish was cooked fresh & it was a really big piece . The chips were good but would have liked them cooked a bit longer. This is an eat in or takeaway. Will certainly try the haddock next time. The young lady who served me was kind about to wrap it in several layers of paper to keep it not as I had 2 miles to drive.

Donnellys is our local chippy but having had 3 recent substandard family meals from them we will be forced to travel further afield for our Friday night chippy teas.

So tasty, Fat juicy cod and crispy salty chips it’s hard to stop eating even when you’re full. Best this side of the river and we are happy to drive down from Malvern to enjoy

Loads of competition in area all of which are superb compared to elsewhere in country and this is up there with the rest.Cant really pass without pulling up.Had a variety off the menu and cant complain about none of it.Always a load of people in there so im not the only one who raves about it.

When it first opened the food was ok but I believe it’s under new management and I cannot fault the food served by very friendly staff, I go on average twice a month.

Been a long time since I've enjoyed a good chip shop meal! My partner and I were having an overnight stay at a local spa and fancied chippy for tea. A look at what was nearby on here and this place popped up with consistently good reviews. These reviews weren't lying either! Quality of the chips were bang on! With mine I also had a cheese n onion pastie which considering is just a microwave food can still be done very wrong at some places but not here! My wife had Donner Kebab and was very happy with it :) will definitely visit here again if we're ever in the area!

We used Donnellys to cater for our wedding, best choice ever! From start to finish Taz was friendly, helpful and bent over backwards to help us. The food was lovely and all our guests raved about it. Definitely recommend the Irish curry sauce! It was delivered on time and piping hot, with every single order spot on, no mean feat with nearly 120 portions!

Vine aquí en pescado nacional y día de chips y este lugar no me decepcionó. Cola por 10 minutos (siempre es una buena señal). Pedimos el bacalao y patatas fritas y nos quedamos realmente impresionados. El bacalao era claramente de muy buena calidad y las patatas fritas estaban cocinados a la perfección.

Regularly visit and whilst the food is good, what particularly stands out is the staff. Good employees really make a difference in my view, even in a chip shop where you have less interaction with them than in a "sit down" restaurant, although you can eat in at Donnelly's. The two young lads who work the counter are fantastic. They are always cheerful and friendly and truly are a credit to the establishment.

Local chip shop to my Worcester family. Always head here for a fish supper when visiting as the quality is always good and portions as they should be (many chippys seem to have a restriction on the chips these days!). One issue, they need to open on a Sunday evening - nothing better to round off a weekend in Worcester than an easy dinner!

We now use Donnellys all of the time. Excellent Fish & Chips or what ever else you want to eat. Friendly staff and tables to eat in if you so desire. I just hope they get their just rewards in the not too distant future.

Not long been living in Worcester and I have to say after visiting this place I won't be going anywhere else.I've tried near enough everything they serve. The chips are lovely and the fish second to none. The kebabs are always tasty and all other bits and pieces do not shy away from tasting how they should.It does get busy but isn't that good? Heck if somewhere doesn't get busy it's surely trying to tell you something!Can't wait to visit again.

We were staying with family in Worcester after travelling from Newcastle. This chippy was suggested for supper.My partner and myself eventually found it and waited in the small queue. I always eat smokie and chips as I can't eat batter but outside the north you are unable to get them.The man behind the counter was very helpful,I asked if the savaloy he served was the equivalent to a smokie .Bless him, I must have sounded completely foreign.He was a great help though and persuaded me to try the savaloy. The whole meal was fantastic but I know in future that a savaloy is nothing like my favourite smokie. We will be visiting again next time we head to Worcester

Me and my partner were looking for a fish and chip shop in Worcester and saw this plaice on Google not far from where we were. We saw the menu online and noticed a great selection of sauces on offer, thinking it was only a Tuesday lunchtime didn't expect them to have them all on offer... but they did and boy did they taste good! The guy serving was very helpful and pleasant! We Both had a regular fish and chips and it tasted amazing! Not a crumb left on any of our paper!! Bravo!Highly recommend. *****

I use this chippy twice a month never had a bad fish & chips yet, the only problem its hard to park the car sometimes.

on returning from our holiday and coming back from east midlands air port we like most travellers decided to stop off to pick up the good old English favourite fish and chips,when I pulled up there was quite a few people waiting to be served as stood there looking at the menu I was asked what I wanted as the food was cooked to order good choice ,decided on two normal cod and chips after a wait of ten minutes it was my turn to be served ,looking over the counter what I saw wow it looked like Mobby Dick had just been caught dipped in batter and cooked and with chips to die for yes it was a little on the high price for the normal price range for a fish and chip shop but the proof was in the eating ,when we got home about 10 minutes away from the shop did not bother with plates you dont do you with fish and chips tucked in and the food was cooked to perfection no soggy batter just right and chips yummy washed down with yes you guessed it a real cuppa we were full to bursting and two very pleased eaters a great choic will be our regular fish and chip shop from now on well done

My Dad has raved about this chip shop for some time - he comes here from the other side of town, which given how tight he is, is testament to how good this place is!I finally sampled the food for myself and have to say I can see why he treks across town for it.Great food, well fried, tasty, fresh, good portion size - fabulous!

The chips here have definitely improved as of late and use it often The only quibble I have is that you are always waiting on chips!! They are never too forward thinking in that respect and could be a bit more organised!!

Actually it wasn't raining today but it was cold so my wife and I decided to try what others had described as the best choppy in Worcester. We wanted to eat inside and Donellys has three tables and chairs where you can eat in comfort. You buy as a takeaway and take to the table, no surcharge for eating in. They even provide knifes and forks. Portions were massive, batter was crisp, fish nice and white, chips were also good and all freshly cooked. We will return.

I have used Donnellys since it opened. There is a very friendly staff and because the shop is well supported the F & Cs are always freshly fried . It is always busy but the staff are quick so I have never had to wait very long. A great place. You should try it, You won't be disappointed.

Good wee cooked food. Not just fish and chips. Really tasty extensive menu from pittas to chicken. Good dips too. Thoroughly recommend.

As a Yorkshire lass I am rather picky about my Fush and Chips so I pleased to discover Donnellys, it is worth the drive out from St John's as the food is great. The batter us always crispy and the chips tasty. The queue says it all, my gran said I should only ever buy chips from a busy chip shop and in this case she was right. Only shame is that Haddock isn't standard!

Really nice chips and not greasy, worth the 20 minute walk each way to fetch them. I'd happily recommend.

Having lived in Worcester for a number of months now, I have been keep to try new places to eat. This has been by far, one of the best. The food is at a higher quality in comparison to the other takeaways and the portion size is just as good. 5*

We always make the 15 minute trip to Donnellys for Fish and Chips. Far better than the chippy on my doorstep. Food is always piping hot and the fish batter is crispy....not soggy like other chip shops in the area.Prices are reasonable and you can park in the road directly outside.

Never had a bad fish and chips since we started going there about 2 years ago, although i did read a fellow reviewer say the chips were bad,i guess they were unlucky, and hope.... it was an isolated incident. Speak as you find, i cannot complain, food, service excellent.

Never been here before, as just passing through!! Shop was very clean and tidy and staff were very friendly. So much so that I decided to sit inside and eat my meal.The fish and chips were excellent quality and good value. Chips were beautifully cooked with well distributed salt and vinegar. Fish was delicious with lovely fine layer of crispy batter. Could not fault the fish and chips at all...Food was so good I decided to try a chicken kebab also (takeaway), well??? it did not disappoint either, like the fish and chips you could tell the ingredients were fresh and of a high standard....Kebab did not make the end of the road!! ate way to much but enjoyed every bite.Will definitely try again if passing within an hour of this place, can not recommend highly enough.

This is our regular Fish and Chip shop and visted at least once a month since it opened. We have never had a bad one the food is great I always have fish but family members have had sausages & kebabs too.The staff are friendly and service is quick even when there is a queue, keep it up!

We went here and bought 3 fish, 3 kebabs and 2 large chips as we were having a family take away. The batter was light and crispy and the fish tasty. The kebabs were lovely with nice crunchy salad along with the usual sauces. The chips however, we're horrible. They were small, pale, greasy, soggy and by the time we got home (only 2 minutes away) they were all stuck together in a solid lump! Needless to say the chips were thrown away...yuck! Maybe this was a one off bad batch of chips as the other reviews seem good. Will return and try again...

We always make the journey across to the other side of St.Johns to go to Donnellys. Absolutely perfect fish and chips - not as greasy as some of the others too!

The fish and Chips at Donnellys are in my view excellent, The portion sizes tend to be large so we always end up sharing one portion of chips between two. The fish is also usually very large but extremely tasty and just how they used to be years ago.

Best chips around by far. Great value for money and good size portions. Pay them a visit - you won't be disappointed!
