The Lyppards Fryer in Worcester

Haven't used here for bout 2 years since I moved, have to say never again, ordered lg mixed meat and chips and salad and a battered sausage, chips were under cooked, meat was cold and sausage WELL I wouldn't even give it a rating absolutely tasteless. Mother Hubbard's has nothing to worry about, they will now be my number 1 for a chippy in Worcester. Well I see you replied, I was served just after the chap in the Webb's garden centre top, when I spend over £12 on food I expect it to be at least warm, it seems to me that the delivery guys are more important than the walk ins, enough said and also make sure your staff don't have black nail polish as it's basic food hygiene!

Been coming here for years never been disappointed. Lovely hot chips and the fish batter always crispy with nice white fish

was a good meal unfortunately forgot my 1.5 litre bottle of coke have requested a refund for that though

Quality - good, however, I have more toes than I had chips in my small mixed and meat and chips. Advised this was the standard normal portion size, this really shocked me. I didn’t know inflation has taken its toll on the potato market quite as much as this.

PAPER PACKAGINGWAS PLASTERED IN GREASE ON THE OUTSIDE & INSIDE OF EVERY ITEM EXCEPT / CHIPS WERE TOO GREASY & STUCK TOGETHER / HARDLY ANY FISH IN WITHIN THE BATTER & PLASTERED IN GREASE. MY HANDS WERE PLASTERED IN IT. SCAMPI WAS THE ONLY THING COOKED WELL & NOT GREASY. LETTUCE WITHIN BOX WASN’T IDEAL AS IT’S WET MUSH THAT COULD MAKE SCAMPI BECOME WET & NOT SO PLEASANT TO EAT. THE BEST CHIPPIES IN WORCESTER AREN’T ON JUST EAT APP.

Great delivery however the actual food was very cold. The pie and peas were like they were old and not been heated up properly. Couldn't eat chips as they were cold too and I hate food that's not a decent temperature

Got myself an early dinner… shop opens at 4:30, I ordered my food at 5pm…. I was thinking, these will be lovely fresh chips as they have only just opened. When I got home, opened my food to find horrible, dry, overcooked chips… presumably these are left over chips from lunch time opening? Couldn’t eat them… unfortunately wasted food and money in the bin. :( Please cook fresh food for paying customers

This used to be a favourite. I'd collect Saturday night fish and chips and a kebab however, the restaurant seems more interested in their on-line orders and less interested in the customers standing in front of them. Fed up with being ignored or, having to listen to the "bellowing" of orders, I was considering not going there any more, but the final nail in the coffin was being given another Donor Kebab with almost no meat in it. Indeed the wrapped paper kebab handed to me on the last visit, felt like it was paper only. Very sad because it wasn't so long ago that I enjoyed visiting and got a decent sized Donor. These things can be changed but very disappointing atm.

Great fresh food that was delivered really quickly

Quite possibly the worst Fish & Chips in Worcester, and probably Worcestershire. With two children, and after an eventful day, the four of us needed a quick end of day dinner/tea. So we purchased fish and chips twice to share between us. What could possibly go wrong. Well, our mistake was using Lypardds Fryer. Once home we were dismayed at what lay before our eyes, we were appalled. Both the chips and fish were brown in colour, not pale and golden, and definitely not a fresh batch. I can’t explain the tase, other than to say it was awful. I’m guessing everything was cooked in old oil, very old. We will never use Lypardds Fryer again.

Has gone downhill, seems it's under new ownership, chips greasy, fish much smaller and low quality. Will be going elsewhere.

Four great meals, one that was not on the menu but no problem for the staff. Excellent portions and very good customer service. Highly recommend!

We ordered 3 kebabs, but they were very bad. Chicken was burnt to the point that we couldn't eat it and fries very dry and very little salad. Pita was toasted... Who toasts the pita??? Will never order there again...

Always one for singing the praises of Lypard fryer, best chip shop in town I said …..Was really looking forward to them but tonight we bought pie and Chips and fish and chips which were both cold . Same order , same short trip home but ….cold. Noticed as soon as husband gave them to me in car , usually so hot they burn through , but no heat ,luke warm at best . Wondered if something was wrong with Cabinet they were in . Will not be using again . Been coming here for our treat for years.

Unimpressed! First and last time purchasing fish, chips and mushy peas from Lyppard Fryer. The fish was OK, the chips were dry and the mushy peas tasteless. Expensive too.

Chips normally excellent but on this occasion tasted off like cooking oil had been burnt. Also ordered 5 cans of coke which were missing. Collector didn't check bag before leaving shop. Phone never answered so only option is to drive back. CHECK ORDER BEFORE DRIVING HOME !

This chippy is well the photos say it all super fast ordering 👍 to get home to notice chips was worse chips iv ever seen in Worcester none edible with a family off 5 to feed it’s disappointing 😝 partner had small fish none edible too 😝 within the order was a small mix meat and chips for me a tray off mess with salad between hot chips and the meat 😝 waste off money to throw it in the bin avoid for me (No Good)

Usually don’t have problems with this chippy…. Food came 9:45 cold took a bite all I could taste was a cleaning chemical ….. not just on the meals but also because the drink was in the bag I was unable to have the drink …. £9 refund for £20+ order that was not edible

They need to sell battered chips everyday not just Tuesdays. Will not go any other day as the normal chips are yuk

When ordering a portion of chips should the customer be offered small, medium or large? Apparently not at this chip shop, just a medium bagged up, made worse by being thrown straight in the bin when arriving home as they were inedible. One for me to avoid.

Very helpfull didn't have what I ordered so they rang and asked if there was something else I wanted very polite too highly recommend.

Usually a nice chippy with friendly staff but tonight we were served by a young girl who had an attitude and the food served was more like a child’s meal when we paid around £7 per meal. Unfortunately won’t be returning after this experience

This is the 3rd time I’ve ordered from here, I’m not from Worcester this place was recommended the first time I ordered the order was spot on the 2nd time they messed our order up and 3rd time they’ve sent us burnt chips! Like giving places 3 chances but this has completely put me off!

Always great quality and on time; but, if you're going to include dips foc with items e.g chicken strips then you should send them! Otherwise, add a charge or don't bother.

Ordered donner meat and chips and I have to say the portion size for the donner meat was terrible for the price and the chips were horrible cold, hard and dry. Will not be bothering to order from this chip shop again.

My mum and dad came here earlier (4:30ish) and in all honesty the food wasn't good enough,definitely reheated.....by the time I'd warmed my chips up again they were so dry they ended up in the bin.

I really do hate leaving negative reviews but I'm sorry I could not eat it the chips tasted awful and then the battered sausage was disgusting the potatoe fritter was rock hard I didn't even attempt to eat it

We have ordered 3 times via just eat. First time they didn't send the fish. Tonight 2 bottles of coke were missing. They blame just eat but the items were ticked off in ink. Shall not bother again. Chips were nice though.

Just had 2 fish specials. Best fish specials we've had in a long time. Chips were perfect not soggy. Fish batter was crispy. Will definitely go here again.

Ordered online to pick up, Waited over an hour for 2 wraps? , staff where hot bothered and blunt. I'll stick to ambleside more friendly, quicker, and massive portion's.

Arrived to get my Tues treat of battered chips. Unfortunately when I got home it was a mix of normal and battered. May have been nice to tell me? Plus the few battered chips I had were cold and chewy. Most went in the bin

Since COVID, prices seem to have risen and portion sizes decreased. Mini fish is now just a sliver. Still very tasty but more pricey.
