Donna Sofia in Islington

Excellent food and service. We went on Sunday for lunch which was seriously tasty. I shared a pepperoni pizza with my son, which was excellent, lovely thin base. I also had a green salad which was perfectly fresh and had the most wonderful dressing on it. My friend had a tricolour salad- vibrant and fresh, and pasta which was delicious. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and lovely. Gorgeous little courtyard garden at the back. Will definitely be back again, it’s worth it.

Fabulous service and delicious food although somethings not available and some not even on the menu but we asked and they had calzone. Went to celebrate a birthday we were given free drinks, tiramisu with sparkler for the birthday boy and free limoncello shots. Will definitely be going back!

The (surprisingly large inside) restaurant was virtually empty late on a Friday evening, so you could well be lucky just turning up with the faff of booking. The service was totally amazing and the generosity totally reminded me of actually being in Italy (where we used to go at least twice a year). Free 'melon'cello was offered, they were super-generous with glasses of wine to taste. Memory says Donna Sofia closed in Covid and have only recently re-opened. The non-pizza food was interesting and felt like a 'meal out' rather than a warmed TV dinner, and there's a great pizza oven

In attentive service, good but lukewarm food several wines unavailable, in comparison to other local restaurants needs to up their game.

Great food and great service. The pizzas are fantastic (and fast!) if you’re looking to grab a bite to take away into Highbury Field. The rest of the menu has been similarly delicious in my experience. The garden area out back is a real haven from the busy main strip of Highbury Barn. Can see this place becoming a real local favourite.

We love Donna Sofia! We have been there twice now with two different groups of friends and have had equally memorable visits each time. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, the food is delicious and the cocktails are great. They have managed to establish a really local, friendly vibe, which is hard to do in such a central location! Donna Sofia is everything we missed about restaurants during lock-down and we look forward to going back.

We’ve enjoyed countless take away pizzas here and it’s become our ‘go to’ for take away. We also recently enjoyed cocktails in the outdoor garden area which has a bar, and extensive covering for bad weather. It’s a perfect little hideaway for a romantic drink or bite to eat. Service was outstanding, we really felt looked after!

The pizzas at Donna Sofia are consistently delicious, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. We've eaten in the restaurant twice, and ordered the food for delivery, and can highly recommend both!

I love this place, it's the new local favourite and I feel lucky to have such a reliable pizza joint on my doorstep. I was looking online to find their number to make a takeaway order and was shocked to see other critical reviews. It's simple, no frills decor (besides the beautiful mosaic oven), but I love that -- it gives it a distinctly Italian feel. Plus, most importantly, this pizza is delicious. The Donna Sofia Testa Rossa is my absolute favourite -- such rich flavour!

Poor meal and service. I was waiting for this restaurant to come on Trip Advisor as it has recently opened. We went for a meal one or two weeks after the restaurant opened and it was one of the worst experiences I have had. The decor is very boring, my starter one of the bland starter I have ever had (bruschette miste). The tomato, mushroom and Aubergine has no flavours. The presentation was also awful I am sorry to say. The pizza wasn’t bad but wasn’t anything special either (not great quality of ingredients). Service was awful, one of the waiters did not speak English and even though we did get a free glass of Prosecco, one of the waiters nearly ended up dropping the pizza on my friend as he was inexperienced and at the end when complaining about the standard, no gesture was given (i even had to ask for the traditional free glass of limoncello). I thought long about writing this review as this restaurant is new and needs time to settle but whilst the experience was awful, I would have expected a hello from the owner who I think is always around between this restaurant and the Da Mario shop. I wish you good luck but I will not come back

We decided to grab a pizza in store as the weather was terrible, the pizzas were good, my wife got through all of hers but I took some home and ate it the next day. As its new I think the staff will take time to bed in, but they were nice and friendly. The house white was excellent and they had Moretti on draught.

Poor airport style lighting , strange staff in cheap suits . The fit out is cheap and the menu expensive Just very strange place
