Döner Shack in Leicester

Not even open, canceled my order after an hour of waiting, called the store to no answer. Took a walk into town to find it all in darkness

3rd time they’ve cancel order after waiting for an hour

Rubbish service, stood at the counter for 5 minutes, completely unacknowledged, no welcome, no 'we'll be woth you in a moment'. Its all good having a fancy looking restaurant and a good product, but if you back it up with rubbish service you won't go anywhere.

Order came to us after 30 minutes and cold despite only 2 tables wiating for orders. Food came cold - fries, meat and bread. No option for mixed sauce just one dip in the pod. Tables with spillages and food remainings, sticky floor and toilets are disgusting 🫣. 1st and last time there nowhere near to kebab. On my way out many empty tables had left loads of food untouched.

I wrote a 3 star only because I, asked for no lettuce and they gave me lettuce

I went here for the first time to try it out. Firstly we had to wait at the till for someone to come over and take our order. Once order was placed we looked for some seats to sit and dine in. All the tables were dirty. I asked for our table to be cleaned but they decided to clean other empty tables first and our last. The food arrived. I ordered the Chicken shawarma kebab meal with lemon and pepper fries. The Chicken was very dry and cold and was not fresh. The chicken was salty and not much sauce in my kebab, I had to add my side sauce to the kebab to make it more tasty. The fries were great and had amazing flavour. The drinks vendor was not working properly and I had to wait for it to be fixed. This place looks run down. A real issue with franchise chains, better to eat local and give business to a restaurant who knows what they are doing with food. I will not be coming back here.

Working nearby I tend to eat here around once a week, the staff are always friendly and happy to help and the food is absolutely fantastic, would definitely recommend.

Went in at about 6.30pm on a Monday and it was dead. It took 20 mins to get my order (a kebap meal and a wrap). The lady serving did give me free sauces.The food finally got to us and it was cold, which was strange seeing as I'd just watched them microwave it. I didn't say anything and just ate it seeing as it had taken so long, god knows how long it would have taken to fix and I wasn't waiting any longer. The price is ridiculous for what you get, I wouldn't go back I'd rather go gdk.

What a positive surprise! Nice place! Went in for a quick meal while my car was serviced at Protyre. A nice man served me in no time. Even recommended me the milkshake from the list they had in stock. The place wasn't overrun midday, I found a seat easily. The menu is just not too big, easy to read.Even has vegetarian options. The price for a doner platter and a milkshake is less than £15. I highly recommend the place. The customer service is better than at Protyre where they charge me hundreds!

Ordered a wrap online, priced at over £8, when it arrived could not believe the size absolutely tiny, it states it comes with skin on fries in the wrap, not joking 3 fries in the wrap, delivered half and hour after the stated time and came cold, so overall a bit of a joke

Randomly visited this place with family and had Cluck shack, chicken bites and fries. Speechless after eating it. Chicken was so delicious. Bread was perfectly toasted. Crispy fries 🍟 . Chicken bites flavours were so good.

After deciding I went for the box with mix of chicken and meat! The whole meal for just under £10 was terrible! Dried up chips, cardboard almost! I couldn’t tell the difference between chicken & meat as both so thin and dry! I won’t be returning! Left half of it……waste of money!

If you like reaaaaally salty food then this is the place for you. I like salty food but the chips and the vegan shawarma were overloaded with it. Such a shame because if you tried to ignore the saltiness the vegan shawarma was actually pretty decent and the chips could've been lovely. I think they just need to figure out flavouring in general though tbh because everything that wasn't too salty was bland and in the salty foods the other flavours weren't strong enough. As for the curry ketchup it's probably an acquired taste, it was okay but I would've much rather had regular ketchup. My friends enjoyed the garlic mayo dip but they also agreed the food, especially the chips, was far too salty. The interior and the branding look cool but the place was pretty dead, it's quite big but there were only 2 other groups of people sat in there and I don't think anyone else came in the entire time we were there. There were plenty of options including quite a few vegan options which was great but not sure I would go again unless they sort out the salt overload. The staff member who served us didn't seem to have very good customer service skills. We came in and looked at the menu whilst pretty close to the till, the staff member was doing something whilst we were looking and it was hard to tell if he was just busying himself whilst he waited for us to decide or was genuinely busy. When we were ready to order we moved closer to the till and he didn't say anything so it was a bit awkward cause we weren't sure if he was ready to take our order. My friends went ahead and did their order and then it came to my turn, he again didn't say anything, like normally someone would say something as simple as 'hello, what would you like to order?' or even just a 'hi' to signal they were ready to take your order... he just sort of looked at me after he'd presumably finished putting through their order. After waiting for him to say something I told him my order and he didn't ask if I wanted any sauce unlike my friends, I assumed the sauce was just part of their meals or something but later discovered when the food arrived it was for the chips so idk why he didn't ask. There should be a station where you can get your own sauces because I could see this becoming an issue if the place was really busy. Also, ask for 2 pots of sauce if you do decide to go here cause there's only enough in one for half a portion of chips and u need the sauce to cover up the saltiness.

Quite possibly the worst Doner Kebab place I have ever been to. Dry, tasteless portion of chicken Shawarma which would be lucky to fill a 10 year old let alone an adult. At £7.50 a portion its a complete and utter rip off. The meal deal at £12.50 is also ridicuously overpriced. I feel sorry for the people that work there and have to serve this utter rubbish. There are many better places in Evington and across the city at a fraction of the price, with much better meat.

Actually I visited doner shack in leicester as i used to have food from Scotland store and i got disappointed as they didn't serve milkshakes and icecreams. I can't imagine in summer, they stopped serving milkshakes and they still have milkshakes in their menu. Very disappointed with this. Try to serve milkshakes or remove it from the menu

Was a bit worried going in as I’ve hardly ever seen anyone in the store, but I’ve no idea why! Wonderful food, served quickly and friendly staff. Just felt like I was the last person from the shop closing even though I was in there at 12pm peak lunch time. Would definitely recommend!

Place looked good, service was ok. But really disappointed with the food. The chicken was so dry...I didn't even finish the food. Its embarrassing I would not recommend this.

This is the 1st time ordering from this place. I was satisfied with my order that I had from Saturday. I would consider to order from this establishment in the future.

It was my first time here. It was OK. I had the Doner Teller meal and felt it was bland. Added a little hot sauce to it to give it a little kick, but it ended up overpowering the meal and ruined the taste. The service was good. Served by a young person called Alexia, they were nice and helpful.

I got the vege wrap and it tasted great but it wasn't wrapped properly and I ended up eating it all open! The service was okay but they forgot my halloumi and then gave me a refund. But also they only had one or two orders and cameover to confirm the order again which was really weird.

A Doner isn’t just for Saturday Night. Food is awesome, nicely presented and full of flavour meal deal for £11.99 not the cheapest but way better than your average burger chain.

Great Kebap and very nice and clean restaurant. The meat is excellent; as someone from Berlin I would love to have the option of herb sauce and a bit more salad though.

Good portion sizes and good flavours. Kebab was well prepared and the bread used in the wrap was very good.

Nice Döner meat and chips. The bread was not as soft as I would like and the ice cream tasted cheap. But the environment and Döner were nice. Don't expect the same quality as Berlin but its better than most placed in the UK. Miles better than GDK.

Today I randomly visited Donar shack & I loved the food called teller box. Best hospitality with neat & clean place. Moreover, helpful and kind staff ever.Pleasant atmosphere and interior. Excited to visit again😍

First time ordered from this place. I have been to germany and i must say the food reminded me of the food in germany. Good portioning of shawarma specially with the cheese.

I went there today with two of my friends and we had the mixed kebab £12.99 each meal and my other friend had a milkshake which she paid more. The food was horrible bad service the counter crew didn’t even give us our water she insisted that she gave us which she didn’t. We are all having stomach ache from food we eat the food was so dry and it taste horrible omg my worst experience ever. I was so disappointed as to I was happy to try it not knowing it’s going to make me feel the bad and put me in pain omg the food is really bad am literally going to the hospital now. It was hard to even swallow omg

We visited Doner Shack today and we were so impressed with the warm and friendly service of all staff, the clean premises and the amazingly tasty fresh food. We were served by a really friendly host Jigar and also by the shift manager Ritik - both of these gentlemen had massive smiles on their faces and you could tell they were genuine. The food was fresh, tasty and the portion sizes are good too. We definitely recommend Doner Shack. Keep up the great work all!

The staff are very friendly, always has a smiling face waiting for you the till, it’s inclusive to all dietary requirements. The crew members are very good especially Nicole always nice and friendly :)

Visited with a friend and (six!) kids on Saturday night, the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Much better service than I expected for a big kebab shop on a Saturday night! Lovely food, good value for the town centre 👌

The doner was very thin, dry and chewy. I had the Teller box from the menu which is mix doner and chips, way too many chips in the box and less meat. I was very disappointed. My friend had the Kebap, again meat was less. The restaurant needs to be more generous with the meat.

Update: Actually revisited with family, 5 people. Unfortunately quantity of meat was small and not good value for the cost of the meal. We spoke to the staff and they refused to give any more. Disappointed in the service. Won't be returning and reducing my rating. Amazing food, absolutely loved it! The best Doner I've ever eaten without question! Had lunch and got the Kebap and Wrap Doner. Bread was fresh, salad tasty, and the Doner an sauces were spot on. Got the chips with Harrissa which were good. Both myself and the Mrs were in agreement that we will be coming back regularly. Great service, really clean. Got free Oreo milkshake shots which tasted amazing so will be grabbing one next visit. Owner is a really nice guy and nothing was too much trouble. If you haven't been yet, then get over there! So good!

Kind staff, nice atmosphere, not long of a wait, and the food was incredible! Gluten free options were also available. I loved the food, and the Nutella milkshake was delicious!

Terrible restaurant when ordering online. When you need help with an order, they don’t pickup the phone. Everytime I order from here their timing is terrible.

Dry doner that's about as tasty as cardboard, it's like a nasty version of German doner - don't bother
