Döner Shack in Glasgow City

A Shadow of the Original Dönerhaus After seeing a teaser on Instagram hinting at the return of some classic Dönerhaus kebabs, I was excited to see if the old magic was back. Sadly, it wasn’t. What I found was a bland, uninspired imitation of what used to be a standout kebab experience. The meat lacked flavour and tasted cheap, with none of the freshness or quality Dönerhaus was once known for. The so-called "Shack sauce" is a poor imitation of Big Mac sauce—overpowering and out of place, masking what little taste the rest of the meal had. To make matters worse, the prices are steep for what feels like subpar fast food. Overall, it was a huge letdown. If you're hoping for a nostalgic taste of Dönerhaus, this isn’t it. Save your time and money—this version isn’t worth it.

Quick family bite while shopping, good choice, kids loved the chicken tenders, shawarma wrap was huge and well filled, dirty fries are a solid addition to the menu.

Absolutely gutted. We recommended Doner Shack to our friends after our first visit as the food was delicious. Alas, our second visit was a massive disappointment. The chicken shawarma was so tough in all of our meals...more like chewy chicken skin with minimal meat. Harissa fries were so salty and again not as tasty as our initial visit. Sad to say we won't rush back if the food is going to be substandard. Only saving grace was the creme egg sundae...it looked divine.

Ordered a mixed wrap from just eat and this is what was received….. tiny bit of filling inside a massive wrap. Very disappointed and won’t be ordering from here again. Completely unacceptable for £12!! Making a fool of their customers really.

Mixed beef and chicken was so good! 10/10. Fries perfectly cooked crispy from the outside and nice and soft inside. It was first time and Chris really helped me choosing and deciding what I should try. Will definitely come back.

Waited 20 mins for my meal, no apology, no discount offered, then when I asked for vinegar- they had none. Very expensive meal ordered also. Definitely won't be returning.

Just recently had food here for the 1st time, and I was extremely pleasantly surprised with the service and the food. We have not had must luck with Doner restaurant recently (GDk), but this place is much better, in my opinion.

Really impressed with my Doner box & good value for £10 the Doner meat & Shawarma chicken was cooked perfectly, had the lemon & herb fries as well & they were good also, I'd highly recommend the Doner Shack ✌️

Items on the new menu are lovely, much tastier than when doner shack opened. Didn’t like it much then but have been a few times since the new menu has been brought out and the food is so much better…..service was top class. Ordered on the machine and had the food within 10 minutes. Nice friendly staff and a clean table.

We came to silverburn in the hopes of coming to Doner Haus as the one in Glasgow city centre has closed. We were apprehensive after seeing that the company has rebranded, but we are very pleasantly surprised. The menu is quite different to the original Haus’, but the food is absolutely brilliant. Highly recommend if you miss doner haus.

Food was delicious and the staff was very nice.

Quality has diminished as has the portion sizes and no ice cream now with kid’s meal. Won’t be back!

They did away with the vegan kebap, which broke my heart a little, but they redeemed themselves with the halloumi kebap. 😂

I used to love it here. It was good for the price and the new menu was delicious!!! And then they upped the prices. Then they upped the prices again. Then they just completely changed my favourite dish, the chicken loaded fries, by taking out the best part, the cheese sauce. Really heartbreaking, used to come here really often.

Food is definitely good for silverburn standards as most other food places in the shopping centre are terrible. You have good staff here. Dylan helped me on deciding what to get and I enjoyed it. One of the few all halal options here so I will be back.

If you haven’t experienced a proper German style Kebap (Kebab) the you are missing out! High quality meat, fresh breads, beautifully created and professional attentive staff! Highly recommended. Best place to eat in Silverburn 👍🏻👍🏻

Honestly I don’t know where to start. Went into donner shack with high hopes and let me tell you I’m seriously disappointed. Food was absolutely horrific the lemon pepper tasted of piss. Will I be back you ask ? Absolutely not. Thanks for reading take care.

Popped into the shack for a quick bite after my shift. As soon as we walked past the line in the shop we got shouted at saying “if your looking to order. Get it from the kiosk.” We told him to take his time there was no rush. Seemed very flustered. Like it was his first shift. Then when he served us he didn’t look at us once just stared at the screen like we were bothering him. Then it took a further 20 mins to get our food and honestly worst experience. Thiago you need to get these staff trained better. Honestly think the standards have dropped since I was last here. Believe the guy is called Chris. The date was 26th of November.

Very quick ordering and food was very nice delivered to our table. Young guy who brought food over and took our food away was very pleasant and noticed he was always on the go, working away wiping tables down etc. (He had longer hair). Very good team member.

Hard over toasted bread, inedible chips, brown salad in a pot made up who knows when and spicy chips were more cinnamon tasting than anything else. Best thing was the drinks as they come from a can out sourced. Would not recommend and don’t believe will be back any time soon

Handy place for a quick bite to eat before going to the cinema, reasonable prices and decent food, the chips/fries in particular were very good.

Fisrt time visit. Blown away by the fresh and tasty menu. Excellent food cooked and served by great people who clearly take great pride in their work. Other fast food comes a poor second. Good food, self-service, in a shopping complex so restricted with what I can score for atmosphere and the front benches do tend to feel a bit drafty. Slightly more than I'd normally pay for a kebab. But it's a good option for a tasty treat while out shopping.
