Absolutely spot on, couldn’t fault it. It’s busy so they’re clearly doing something right. Lush honest fresh food

Always excellent 😀 I do a 20 mile round trip to take my son out for lunch here, it's slways worth it! Food is always nicely cooked and Pam and the girls are always happy and smiling 😀 I'd recommend this place to anybody, we were there Monday (17th) and I'm going back again today (20th) taking a friend to show him what good fresh homestyle cooking is supposed to be like 👍

Truth told we had met Pam and Mark one afternoon and fell into company whilst we were on a visit to Newcastle and she said she owned a good old fashioned eatery Two days later we needed a good breakfast so jumped on a bus and turned up Seriously , the welcome from all the ladies working there was great , the welcome from the customers even better Soon the banter was flying around. Let’s get down to the nitty gritty. It’s a local community cafe selling home made food at a price that suits the locals. Don’t walk past. It’s spotless and the food is top notch We went in at 11 looking a fry, then couldn’t decide if we should instead have an early dinner I mean meat, spuds and 3 veg - home cooked, so tempting , but we went in the end for 2 med fry’s And that’s all we needed for the day. Proper food cooked properly and served up just like you would get at home Oh and a pretty decent cappuccino :) Seriously , I’ve paid twice as much for half the quality and quantity, and most certainly in places where you are just a customer. Customers here are treated as part of the family, you are not sat in a corner reading the paper or on your phone , you are invited into the banter and treated as part of the family When we are back in the area we will defo be back. Looking forward to meat pudding and cherry pie :)

Nipped in for a bacon and mushroom sarny and a coffee. Fantastic social distancing measures. Excellent food too! Friendly staff.

Absolutely superb place. Brilliant food , wonderful staff , and pleasure to visit. Highly recommended , breakfasts amazing , if you ever get the chance go. Better than any chain.

I absolutely love the food the staff work so hard and its always busy. 10 of 10. The coffees are excellent and its great value for money.

We go in every now and then and my Kev has the full breakfast every time but the past couple of times I had the mince and dumplings. Which I really enjoyed. This week we went and I just fancied the full English brekkie too. So two hearty breakfasts arrived and we thoroughly enjoyed them. Washed down with a mug of tea or two mugs in my case . Nice lasses and very friendly.Always speak when you come in and say bye when you go. I also have to say how totally nipping clean this pleasant little cafe is. You can tell it’s being kept on top off. Well done girls and there’s a couple of young lads work there too. Very good prices honest it’s worth going in.Sandwiches, quice , hot meals a right canny but choice. Served at your table. Order at the till then go and choose a table. You cuppa will be over in a mo. We will be back but might be a while because of work commitments but we will def be back. Julie and Kev x

Good value still. Can get a little crowded at peak times. This is a basic Eastenders type of cafe. Parking easy. 2 full English brekkies - just go for the biggest for the extra cost. People are canny who seem to work there - always down to earth pleasant.

The food is good home cooked food and great value ; the staff are very friendly and helpful . A good choice of meals and they do homemade chips ! The food ain’t gourmet ; but it does not sell itself as that . Been here 10plus times and never been disappointed .

Went for lunch, ordered two roast dinners, vegetables tasted as if vinegar had been added to them, Yorkshire and dumpling were no better either. What a waste of nearly £9.00, I’ll take my custom elsewhere.

First of all. Woman with black short hair was very abrupt. She tried to be friendly but apart her the rest of the staff was very friendly. Cleanliness was great until I received my roast dinner and I noticed there was a finger sized hole in my mash potatoes. That's was completely noticeable. The gravy had a skin inside it and everything tasted like it has been sitting in a heat light,like it has been sitting there for about 4 hours. The chips tastes like overcooked like it was sitting in greasy petrol for maybe 3 or 4 hours. I don't know where they buy their coffee but it tastes like toilet water only for £1.70! What a bargain. There service was very fast but if you need the toilet. Don't bother. You may as well go to the pub down the road. Only if their food wasnt as good as their staff. I would of returned.

Every time we go here it's a trip down memory lane as my mother would often bring me in on her weekly shop to Saltwell Road. The quality has always been second to none as has the service. Will always miss that wall-mounted pinball game. 😁

Been a few times for a full English after a night out, food has always been nice, served fast and was never too busy which i like overall its a simple but nice experience going there.

I've been coming here for years. The staff are brilliant. Always chatty and having a laugh. All their food is fresh and home cooked. (I have never seen any frozen meals served up). Prices are very reasonable.

I've been eating pie dinners here for the past ten years. Always excellent, straightforward service. The pie is home made, as are the chips. Good, wholesome, homemade scran at excellent value for money.

This is 'greasy spoon' and serves quite excellent quality food for a great price. I notice others may find staff as poor...no. They are basically sound working class people catering for their own people in Gateshead! Please try the mince and dumps!

Hoy en día, llamado en primera vez que había estado aquí en años, pasando todo el tiempo, pero nunca me llamaron. Sin embargo, hoy he hecho una excepción y me alegro de haberlo hecho. Pedí pollo con verduras, patatas fritas y café, el personal era agradable y amable. Recibí mi comida después de unos 15 minutos, la comida era fantástica y así era la cantidad, mi plato estaba colmada y recuerdo pensar que no hay manera de que se come todo esto. Pequeño café, excelente comida, excelente relación calidad-precio, sin duda volveremos. Steve.

Good start bad food, the woman that served it was so rude. Saying 'aye say it probably' then under her breath 'daft posh cow' mince and staff are poor

Llamado a la hora de comer el sábado mientras entre recados de compras y tenía un inglés tradicional Misa del Gallo maravillosa y albóndigas con una taza de té. La calidad es fantástica relación calidad-precio con todo lo que se ha hecho en el lugar. Siempre una agradable bienvenida incluso cuando está muy llena. La relación calidad-precio es excepcional para estos días!

Cuando corriendo por el camino de la Navidad, y necesita de una buena comida saludable para mantenerte, este es su lugar en la zona de Gateshead. La Misa del Gallo y Dumpling pluss dos verduras y patatas fritas y una taza de té se va para el resto del día.

I have been coming to Dominic's for 25 years; that tells you how good value it is. Since Dominci's son Frank stood down it hasn't lost any of it's quality and value. It isn't a 5star restaurant, and doesnt try to be anything of the sort, but you wont get better food in the area.

this place is a real local community cafe it's nipping clean and friendly the owners have had it for years Great quality breakfasts and at a reasonable price It gets busy around lunch time with mothers with children and workmen and has a great friendly vibe to the place

Been to this cafe a few times and I do say I enjoy breakfast and coffee there. You get a lot for what you pay for so I will be going back

I've been coming to Dominics for about 20yrs, Frank the original owner is now only in on Mondays and Pam Brown runs it for the rest of the week. Lovely food every time, the most consistent cafe I've been to, ever!. I'd highly recommend the home made steak pie, chiops, veg and lovely gravy, my favourite, I really must stop ordering the same thing every time we go in!.

After going to the cafe since I was a child I thought I would call in today for lunch (havent been for about a year). It must have changed hands as the food was very poor...frozen chips and what can only be described as cheap sausages. I watched one of the staff constantly pick and eat food from the trays and the main staff (female) was very loud. She had her grandchild there who at one point was sat on the counter! This is a shame but I will not be returning to this cafe again.

Visited this little cafe in the last two days while visiting friends. The breakfast was outstanding and for only £5.20. 2 sausages, bacon,2 eggs,baked beans,black pudding,tomato,hash browns tea and toast included. Staff are friendly and premises are very clean. The only problem is they close at 3p.m., otherwise we would have eating there through out our stay. Will definitely be back next time.

Ive been here loads gets nicer every visit. Great food i love my breakfasts thats what im eating now as we type. 2 sausages, 2 eggs ,2 bacon, beans ,toms, black pubbing,mushrooms,hashbrown , 2 whole slices of toast and a cuppa. Place so clean and tidy. Full main course diners too. Friendly staff as ever

Just a little mentionThis is possible the cleanest cafe I have ever visited . . To get to toilet you have to go through the kitchen! But gave me a chance to check it out and it's possibly the cleanest kitchen I have ever seen in a cafe!!!!

I've been going to Dominic's cafe often since I was a young child. I've always loved the place, food and staff. The food is all home made and tastes so good! There is a huge range on the menu and everything's so tasty I can never decide what to get. The cafeteria itself is always clean and tidy and the staff are very friendly and Dominic is lovely. It's always busy because its that good! My personal favourite has to be pie chips and gravy it is to die for! The gravy is the best I've ever tasted. It's definitely worth going to, the prices are also very cheap and you get big portions.

Good wholesome basic food, just like your mum makes with very reasonble prices. Good location. Always very busy.

I've been a customer of this Cafe for a few years now and for good home-made food, you can look no further. Cafe is always bustling and has a great atmosphere, you're always made welcome. Staff are willing to accommodate your requests if you need to deviate away from the menu, so long as they have the items!Great food, great staff, great atmosphere - what more do you want!

Dominics is an essential part of Saltwell Road in Gateshead. It has been serving excellent food and friendly service for many years. All customers are very positive in their opinion and return over and over again.
