had the pleasure of calling here for a take away on our journey home from a job. Really glad we did. we rarely eat Fish and chips these days, however, i'm guessing we would eat more if we lived closer to Sutton!... They were freshly cooked, not greasy, good size portion cooked and served by pleasant staff. ... well impressed

We were greeted warmly, and the service was friendly, prompt and very efficient. The food was better than we could have hoped for, fresh and perfectly cooked fish in a light delicious batter accompanied by yummy chips. Past experience of fish & chip shops and restaurants have been less than favourable, but the Dolphin stands head and shoulders above all that. I cleaned my plate. The restaurant is family friendly and I can’t fault the atmosphere, the service or the food. Well done – and in the words of Arnie – I will be back!

To start with, the queue is always long, I avoided originally because of that reason. Prices are rather steep for less the great food. I order a smaller size and it was still expensive. The food wasn't as warm as hoped, and seemed under cooked by the colour of everything. The restaurant wasn't the tidiest and was part of the takeaway anyway. I don't think I'll be returning soon.

The batter was under cooked, it looked lovely but when opened was raw. The fish wasn't fresh and had an awful taste. Chips were okay. Walk round the corner.

Went here as a new years day treat with our family. We ordered from the 'pensioners special' menu as well as the normal one. The 'pot of tea' advertised with each dish, is only 1 mug, no pot. They also don't do any fresh milk so only uht tubs were on offer. We ordered several types of fish and after a long wait, once it arrived, the waitress couldn't tell us what type it was as she couldn't speak any English! Everything was tasteless, they don't use any seasoning and the chips were anaemic. Even their brown sauce is awful! Our family rate this as one of the worst fish and chips we have ever had. Won't be back!

Very good value for money, chips were done crispy as i asked them to cook it for a little longer and were not burnt at all like other places have done so in the past. The fish cakes are really nice too

Have eaten fish and chips in Grimsby and Cleethorpes for years. First time and last at this establishment. Fish was soggy, chips cold and soft. Will not go back.

Visited with the Family for lunch, order was taken quickly, but then a long wait started for our fish and chips. Just after the waitress took our order the table behind us complained as to the time they had been waiting and when their order finally arrived it was wrong. We found the fish to be wet inside and the excessive batter was also not fully cooked through and quite heavy. Mushy peas were watery and when we went to pay my wife had asked for a hot chocolate instead of the tea or coffee that came with the meal and they then tried to charge her for that on top of the set meal price. would not recommend a visit and don't expect we will be back there again.

Nabo amarillo sosa aguada. Estaba casi de junio. No recomendaría aunque el personal era encantador.

I took my wife with friends to celebrate my wifes 74th birthday. When we arrived we were greeted and taken to our table, after 10 minutes we were told you have to order at the bar. When I ordered I was asked how I would like to pay, I asked if I could have a tab and was told NO! but couldn't be given a reason why. I appreciate that there may be a few dishonest people about but if a credit card was registered there should be problem. The food was very good (main course only) but we left after main course. No sweets no further drinks and no tea or coffee. Dissapointed
