The food was ace had the best Chinese in years even the chips was ace I used to work for you years ago I had my favorite gin chow beef was lovley as it used to be if not better and I don’t like mushrooms but thought would try them they were lovely too many thanks was a lovely meal defo order agai we’re now a regular

Greasy beyond words 1 chicken ball soaked four pieces of kitchen roll it was all greasy chips were soggy and stuck together chow mein was ringing with grease id upload pics if i knew how 1st and last time going here

Drive was lost even tho explained were I live food was cold had to go out n find him being disable was very hard for me his excuse was am new to the job the wonton bag was open too so all went in bin not Chinese flaut your driver!!!

Food was delicious as per usual. Was a bit disappointed with the price we paid for the 3-in-1’s as the portion was tiny. I know they’re not supposed to be massive, but compared to different takeaways, the portion size was a lot smaller for a lot more money.

Wow rang order at 18:52 it arrived 19:08 sixteen minutes from call to delivery bearing in mind it’s a ten min drive at least,never again for me that’s %100 MICROWAVED

Spent £35 for chicken Maryland chicken omelette and a medium egg fried rice and curry sauces . and the portions where so small also the chips wasn’t like they usually are , and we paid £10 for a chicken Maryland to get one piece of chicken , everywhere else we get two and for a cheaper price , worked out what we ordered at other places and the price is over £11 difference, was really looking forward to the food but will not order from this place again

Ordered the duck chow mein the noodles are so thin and theres more onion than the noodle things the duck is brittle was like chewing on shards of plastic and the sweet n sour "sauce" is infact sweet n sour jelly.... also has no flavour, go elsewhere 🤦‍♂️

I've use this Chinese for years, it used to be really good. The last order was diabolical, virtually inedible. Chips tasted liked they'd be reused several times, prawns tasted of ammonia. Generally really poor. Go to Carr lane chinese, cheaper and in a different stratosphere to Evergreen, a real shame as it used to be great!!

WOW evergreen takeaway truly is something special. what i ordered was the best chinese in the whole area in my eyes. it didnt break the bank (quite cheap) and has now become an option on my speed dial, because i like it so much the person on the phone was enthusiastic and really capped off the whole experience and left a good taste in my mouth in more ways than one (the food was yummy)

WOW, the food was great, service was brilliant but sadly the chow mein almost killed my grandma due to them not being correctly cooked, otherwise quite a very good experience

Ordered from here for my Grandmother's birthday food was awful staff were disrespectful and then blacklisted me when I tried to complain. No wonder my grandmother died tge next week I wouldn't blame her having to eat that rubbish

We've been ordering every week for the last 2 years or so, and it's usually very good. In fact I've given them 5 star reviews previously. Over the last few weeks, the prices have crept up but we've carried on ordering. However tonight, i just called and asked them if they have a new chef, because my wife and I both thought that they had forgot to put any flavour in the meal. It was so bland, the person who answered the phone didn't seem bothered, and didn't even apologise. We won't be ordering from evergreen again

Pancake roll was terrible sorry

When you place your order then not get what u ordered and get something that as prawns In it lucky no one as an allergy to them you should make sure the orders are right even more so when read back to you

Evergreen was the best takeaway around What as happend order a mix grill no liver no tomato beef no well maybe got some bone with a little beef around it small pieces of bacon Was still trying to defend evergreen as a one off but ordered 2 mixed grills both as bad . Hope I am wrong But willnot order for again or recommend to anyone

There's no option for no stars otherwise this is what it would be!! Absolutely disgraceful crispy beef in chilli and honey sauce sounds beautiful....... I don't think it's ever seen honey or chilli. Plenty of stodgy rice, a spoonful of curry and six chips. We'll never order from here again it USED to be the best in town

Food here well where do I start first never trust a Chinese takeaway that can produce your order in less than 3 minutes the chicken taste like rubber I am guessing it was boiled flavourless and the sauce runny slop the chicken was not even mixed in with the sauce properly I can't believe I actually paid money for this. I could go to a shop get the cheapest frozen meal and it would me gourmet in comparison to this never again.

Ordered a chicken with mushroom and a chow mein and it arrived fairly quick but sadly the food tasted sour and fishy despite it being a chicken dish. Tried to get a partial refund for the meal since it wasn't up to standards and was refused and my complaint was ignored and denied.

Never use these Sent rubbish food when they saiid they would replace rang up b2 weeks later Said they would replace some off it but spit in food and never will deliver to my address again

Used to be a regular here. Ordered tonight, this chinese takeaway has massively gone down hill. Very poor quality food, rice very stodgey, sweet and sour thick like jelly, prawns tasted very strange. Soggy pancake. Food felt reheated. Do not recommend anymore. Massive shame

Had a takeaway delivered last night the food was awful and the chips were definitely reheated probably from day before...very dark in colour and stale...never again.

2 out of 3 of us got food poisoning it really was disgusting. My 12 year old is really sick after eating the beef curry and prawn toast 😔 I didn't eat it so I'm OK but the other two aren't

Use evergreen regularly. Food is usually good. however the last couple of times food has been delivered. The Chinese meal have been luke warm I don't really want to microwave it because it doesn't taste the same hopefully it will be sorted soon

This was the best Chinese in Grimsby and I'm not sure what's happened, the chips was frozen Iceland style and the ribs had no meat on them also the special chow mein and fried rice was tasteless, the beef curry was like wall paper paste and the crackers was like eating cardboard this has to be the worst Chinese I have ever paid £60 for I am not a big fan of 4 for a tenner but wish I had now

Been ordering from evergreen for years one of my favourite Chineses. It takes a while for delivery but much quicker if you collect staff are always friendly would recommend

Salt and chilli chicken wings were very nice.the chow mein was made with thin noodles and not much flavour the mains were too sugary as was the crispy seaweed.

First time ordered from here and the chips were some of the best iv had from a Chinese,all round was pretty good but as iv noticed other's have also said in these reviews the Hong Kong sweet n sour chicken is disappointing,tub of dry battered chicken with separate sauce which let it down a bit but rest was lovely,thankyou .

Just had our first Chinese from Evergreen and it will definitely be the last. Food was bland and all the meat was tough and overcooked. Avoid the disappointment and go elsewhere 1-6-2021

Sweet and sour Hong Kong style... Box of bone dry chicken no veg at all and a seperate pot of sweet and sour sauce !!! Gross. Crispy chilli chicken flavourless. Would not recommend at all. Disappointed !!!

Lovely food except the sweet n sour sauce which was gelatinous, vivid pink and a dreadful watered down taste - such a shame as rest was delicious. Order arrived 35 minutes earlier than expected by a polite delivery driver.

Ordered Hong Kong style sweet and sour as I have done on many occasion, what was delivered was a joke like the chef couldn't be bothered.... a few peices of battered chicken with a tub of sauce, no vegetables in it like onions or peppers or anything, if I wanted this style I would of ordered chicken balls

AVOID. Placed an order for delivery around 8pm. Rang at 10 to find out where it was because it didnt arrive yet. The lady said it should be with us within the next half an hour to 40 minutes. 2 hours later we received cancellation notification at 12 midnight. 4 HOURS LATER.

Can't comment on the quality of food because it never showed up. Tried contacting them repeatedly and the phone was engaged for over 3 hours, couldn't even get a refund for food that didn't show.

Having used several Chinese takeaways over the last 20 years in the Cleethorpes area we became fed up with the inconsistent quality of the food, so we changed to evergreen and glad we did. Excellent value and good quality is what you receive and delivered promptly when required. They always spice my curry up when asked and is always consistent. The chow mein very tasty and king prawn fried rice is excellent. And they produce proper Chinese style gravy sauce. Recommended.

Do not order direct from Chinese website 90% of items are more expensive than advertised on JustEat so the discount given for ordering direct means nothing

My son had a meal last night of king prawn balls and chips, the balls were soggy and the chips were very greasy, sauce was disgusting! He didn't eat all of it, about half and has felt sick all day. We will never order from here again!

Have been ordering here for a few years now and it’s my favourite takeaway above all! The Fu Young, chips and rice are amazing! However I have ordered here the past 2 times and the chips have been different! They are the main thing I visit the Chinese for! Please bring back the usual chips!

Just the sort of thing that everyone turns out, day in day out. However, just a few gripes. The pancake rolls are simply enormous, and could be a meal in themselves. Something smaller, or an option to purchase a smaller size, would be appreciated. Similarly, to us, the prawn crackers could be reduced in number/cost, as even for two people some inevitably get thrown away. The Singapore Chow Mein Is hot, as described. But the chilli has a raw taste, which might suggest this flavouring had not been cooked out properly? The Roast Duck with Mushroom was a little bland. The duck skin was soft, pale and gelatinous, which suggests that the duck had not been roasted properly, if at all. Finally, the total price, including £3.50 delivery/service charge, using Just Eat, was a bit much, in our opinion.

I'm from Thailand. Needless to say that I grew up with oriental foods and I instinctively know what oriental foods 'supposed' to taste like. I found Evergreen since when I first settle down here in Grimsby. And I absolutely love the food from here and always recommended this place to all my friends. Whenever I fancy oriental foods, then my first and often only choice is Evergreen. Delivery is swiftly done. Food ordered no problem and freshly cooked. They are always TASTY. I don't know why people would rate it badly but for me this is the place to go to for oriental foods. The only Chinese takeaway I've ordered for the last six years. ( If you'd like a bit of spicy food, try Singapore Fried rice and the 28C , it's the crispy deep fried shredded chicken with chilli. It is my go-to takeaway on Friday night or any day that I don't want to cook but I'd like to have tasty food. I hope you enjoy it.

Having had food delivered from here before we placed another order through Just Eat. They declined it stating we were too far away, despite it clearly stating on their just eat advert that they DO deliver to our postcode. Not interested when I rang to enquire why the order had been declined. Absolutely rubbish customer service. Will go back to using Laceby!

Not impressed. Had a Chinese from here two weeks ago. My fiance asked if they were able to do a vegetarian pancake roll. Not a problem they said. Rang up to place and order tonight and he asked for the same, a VEGETARIAN pancake roll. The guy on the phone said the chef said he can't do them anymore because the mix is already made and it took too long last time to pick the meat out for it. Excuse me? Pick the meat out? That is not vegetarian. Staff really need to clue up on what this means, it is not an uncommon request these days. Will not be ordering again.

Always love food from here ,tried others over the years but always go back to evergreen ,it's usually 45 mins to a hour for delivery but always worth it 😋

I called and asked the new owners if i could taste before ordering, as i had a bad experience with previous owners food. He said yes, so i walked all the way there to place an order. The man denied saying that to me on the phone!! I could not believe it...I would have placed an order anyway if he didnt call me a liar. Think i will stick with Wen Kee takaway

We order regularly from here and have never been disappointed. We have always found the service to be very quick, although we don't order at peak times so cannot comment on this. We have virtually been through the whole menu as we like to try different things and are confident they will always be good, and as yet we have not been let down. The staff are very helpful. Well done Evergreen keep up the good work!

Ordered a meal tonight waited over 1hour 30minutes when we opened it it was not our order rang up to be told "oh sorry thought there had been a mistake" we could redo your order but it will be another hour or we will drop money in and collect meal.Well another hour gone past still no refund ring again told you can keep meal no refund so hubby has gone down to get money .Never use this place again
